Victoria Rolfe had spent a good chunk of years, in the hundreds, alone. She had occasional company now and then when in a tavern. She was most at home in tavern's and the like. Not only could she make a few bucks waiting table but earn herself a room. She was constantly on the go, never stopping, never wanting to. She did want to remember what was lost but then again she didn't. She was free and had a life... A life where she answered to no one.
And, then as fate would have it a dusty, worn out letter landed in her hands. She was more than a little surprised that it had made its way to her. It wasn't that she tried to remain hidden away from the world it was the fact that she was never stationary.
Despite her gut to trash it and keep on moving for fear it was a trap... she opened it up and like any curious adventuress followed the directions. They led her to a lab... something she wasn't use to running across. Sure she'd run across her fair share of odd. Who wouldn't have in having been around over four hundred years.
She pushed open the door and stood there for a moment. She was leaned on her right side. A hand on her hip and the letter in the other. She had a matter of fact look on her face. Before she went demanding to know what was up she wanted to reread the letter to make sure of things...

Presently, what she ended up walking in on, was a child pulling a wagon around the main section of the lab. But it wasn't just any wagon, it was a wagon with a small tank of water and a very pale toddler inside of it. Nearby, a very short woman with puffy hair had just taken notice of the scene and looked somewhere between getting ready to scold her daughter and laughing.
It was at this point, of course, that Jillian looked over and saw the newly arrived Victoria. "OH! Hi Lady! You're here for a baby, right?" she asked, pointing to the letter. Immediately, she pointed to the toddler in the wagon, "This is a baby. Do you want him?"
Apoxi facepalmed, knocking her glasses a bit askew. "Jillian, that is NOT how you address potential guardians."

Victoria had seen plenty of everything in her life time and strange was not stranger to her. She cracked a half smile when she saw the girl pulling the wagon. The smile however quickly faded as the little girl pointed the paper and mentioned something about a baby... it was apparent that part of her letter was missing as all she had was a map.
"Well..." she looked around and saw the other woman. Her eyes were everywhere but the little girl and her wagon now. Eventually though she settled them back on the little girl. "I cannot say this is what I was expecting to come of this map... but if it is what I am suppose to get then yes I guess I want him..."

Apoxi blinked under her glasses, "Map? Hm. The transporter must've had a very hard time locating you then. Usually we only send letters that state you have been selected for a special task and give the address." the woman commented, walking closer and looking at the object in Victoria's hands. "Must've taken a very rough journey too, it's in awful condition. Don't let Kayen see that, if you don't mind. She prefers her notices to be in crisp condition when they are received."
Jillian giggled, reaching into the water and picking up the siren baby and carrying him over towards Victoria. "This place makes babies to test genes. This is one of them. Inne cute?"

"I move around a lot," Victoria sighed softly. "And very rarely do I ever come near city limits or the like. I prefer to keep my life the way it was 400 and something years ago... simple."
She was about to comment about not letting anyone else see the map but before she could she was being told to look at a soaking wet, finned boy. "Certainly never heard of making babies this way..." she mumbled as she looked him over. "Cute as a button," she smiled. "So long as he doesn't spit up on me..."

"That's usually not an issue. We've found people in all sorts of places." Apoxi told Victoria with a wave of her hand. Because of course everyone everywhere could find you no matter where you were. "It was probably just a glitch of sorts."
Jillian giggled, bouncing the baby a bit, "Nope, no puke. He might spit water though if you get him mad." she joked.

"I am here now. Not sure how we'll manage but we'll manage," she smiled. She wasn't going to ask about the glitch. She felt it was best for now to know as little as possible... knowing to much and she might back out... and she had the feeling there wasn't any backing out of this.
Her eyes shifted up and down, only slightly, as she watched Jillian bounce the baby. "I think I can handle that," she said as she held out her arms. "May I?"

"If you require monetary assistance, it can be provided. We'd like all of the kids to be well cared for, so if you need help, we can give it to you." the small brunette assured her, walking over to put an arm around Jillian's shoulders as her daughter held out the baby.
"Careful, he's slippy." the rainbow haired girl said with a bright smile, carefully setting her little friend in Victoria's arms.

"I've got plenty of money," Victoria said with confidence. "It's just I move around a lot. The establishments are nice and such. We'll manage," she smiled. "Slippery. Okay, gotcha," she said as she cradled him.
"He's adorable. Thank you for trusting me with something so precious," there really wasn't anything more precious than a child, even she knew that. Everything but life could be replaced.

Apoxi shook her head a bit. "I'll go get the forms for you to sign. Jillian, why don't you find a lid for that tank so this lady can take it and the wagon with her. It'll be a portable bed for her new little one."
The rainbow haired girl grinned, "He's gotta be in water to sleep mostly. Otherwise he cries and gets coughy." the girl rushed back in a while with the lid and reached up to tickle the boy, "bye bye, baby. You be good for the lady, okay?"
