 Boy was it a hot day. Gubari's black pelt was making it even hotter for him as the dark fur absorbed the light beating down on their pridal lands. He wanted to play, but god, it was so hot that even the notion of playing was out of the question. Instead of trudged around as best he could looking for one of his siblings, any of his siblings, to talk to and maybe lay in the shade with. After all, there wasn't much one could do right now in the heat, so he might as well lay around like the Tubby Gubbi he was.
Oh god, he just referred to himself as Tubbi Gubbi.
He'd have to come up with something just as mean and catchy for that Pesar he met the other day. What was his name? Oh god, he couldn't remember, it was just too damn hot to think. Creeping back to where the den was he hoped one of his siblings would be there. He collapse as soon as he managed to get into the shade of the den and gave off a really loud whine.
"Is anyone here?" He moaned, hoping someone would answer.

 Firuza had been smart. While others tried surviving the heat, panting themselves silly and trying to cool themselves off with water or mud or the sparse shade of trees...SHE was hiding in the den and napping. It was much cooler, in the very back where the stone wasn't touched by sunlight. The brown-y cub blinked and yawned when she heard a noise.
And then a voice. Eh? Oh. It was just Guby.
The lioness cub sighed and got up, trotting towards the front of the den, looking a little less than amused as she stopped right in front of him.
"Boys don't whine, Guby."

"I'm not a boy, Firuza. I'm your brother and I'll whine if I want," He said with a small pout and reached for his pretty brown sister. He wanted someone in his pride as pretty as Firuza one day. She was all sorts of gorgeous and he loved her so very much. He loved Afsar and the others as well, but he thought Firuza was the prettiest, beneath Mommy that was.
He pawed at Firuza lightly with a smile across his chubby cubby face. He than rolled over onto his stomach and scooted his way into Firuza and nuzzled her legs with a tiny mewl. He was feeling like the greedy little thing he was, wanting more and more attention, as well as more and more food. At least his siblings and parents would know he'd constantly come looking to spend time with them since he craved their attention so.
"Pretty, pretty Sister. Is there something funny with my eyes?" Gubari asked, looking up at her with curiosity, "A Pesar named Mirsajadi said my eyes were funny. And than he called be Tubby Gubby and said I ate you."
He did not like that this Pesar had said that. He was only trying to be nice and friendly towards him and he wanted to say really mean things to him. Mean things that were just not true.

The female cub rolled her eyes a bit. "You're still a boy, Guby." She smiled a bit at his antics, though. At least there was one boy in the world who appreciated his female relatives! She leaned down to lick his cheek in a return gesture of affection. She could always count on Gubari. Even if he had a bad tendency to whine.
"I think your eyes are just fine, Guby. You see out of 'em alright. And red 'n' yellow go together well. You got the best of both worlds, when it comes to eyes." She snorted, frowning. "You may be kinda round, but you're not tubby. You're just Guby. And you know that you certainly didn't eat me. I am here, after all." Ugh...why did boys have to be so mean to each other? Things went much better if others got along, at least on the surface.
