Name: Amanda Ann Lewis

Nickname: 'Manda, Amy, Andy

Age: 29

Birthday: March 19th

Sign: Pisces

Gemstone: Aquamarine

Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food: Cucumbers (she loves to put slices of them in her water; it tastes good, AND it's healthy!), Fish, Assorted Subs.

Hated Food: Tomatoes, Fast Food.

School: NA - Amanda works an an ER Nurse, with an on-call schedule that is supposed to be a rotating one.

Hobbies:

Sleeping: When she was younger, she used to be just fine without sleeping. She could go out, party hard and wild, come home for a two hour nap before running to classes for the day. But now? Amanda just can't get enough sleep. Every moment she can and wants to, she will. Her on-call-but-rotating status at the Hospital leaves her with very unusual sleeping patterns, and she makes up for it by having the cat-like ability to nap anywhere given the opportunity. While this is usually limited to her own time in her apartment, it does on the rare occasion happen outside of her home as well; usually at libraries or friend's houses, if they let her. The one place she will never sleep at would be the Hospital.

Movie / TV Buff: When she isn't sleeping, Gardening, or out with her friends, Amanda is curled up at home in her oversized housecoat and a hot tea, watching TV or renting movies through said TV. Her schedule keeps her from consistently catching some shows, but that was why TiVo was invented. Thank god for TiVo, as there has been more than one occasion she'd sleep through a show simply for being comfortable. On the whole she doesn't much care for the news; she gets those updates through the more chatty patients, but she does have a soft spot for reality shows and psychological thrillers.

Gardening: It's difficult to Garden when you live in an apartment, but Amanda manages to pull it off fairly decently. Her Balcony is home to many flower pots, mostly housing seasonal flowers, cucumbers and tomatoes, despite her dislike of them. A coworker of hers loves them, and thus they get passed off when they are ready. Gardening is just another small, mindless thing she can do to keep herself relaxed between shifts at work.

Cooking: More or less a fan of healthy foods, Amanda does take joy in cooking. When she cooks she makes way more than she should, and fills many a tupperware container for later lunch (or dinner, if she's too tired to cook) goodness.

Virtues:

Are you okay?! - Altruism: Amanda doesn't stay with this job for the pay and certainly not for the hours. She stays with it because she honestly wants to help others. Outside of being in the health care profession, Amanda does donate to Charities and food drives when she can, though she can never promise the time to be able to physically help out.

Way ahead of you! - Adroit: She is always on the ball - especially at work, or even situations outside of work where her medical experiences are required. She knows where everything is, how to get to it, and the best way to execute certain procedures. She'll hear there is a patient with a deep cut and she'll be there with gauze and the suture kits. She works well under pressure, and it shows.

Keeping up appearances - Self-Pride: She takes care of herself and prides herself on what she does. When she does go out, even in the short time it takes to get to the hospital or just to the store, she dresses very well. Even if she is sitting at home in baggy clothes for movie time, if she needs to get up and run an errand, she'll change into something nicer, put up her hair, brush her teeth and maybe touch up her (or put on a touch of) makeup.

Flaws:

Who are you, again? - Horrible with Names: Faces and situations are her forte; names, not so much. She sees so many people it is hard to keep up with the names; but if they were injured, and she helped them, she'll remember them, but not the name. When checking in on patients she relies on their information sheets to find their names. If approached on the street she will either ask questions to get them to say their own name, or find ways around having to say a name to them; this has her referring to people as 'hun' or 'sweetie' often. It takes something striking to remember someone's name after meeting them for the first time; other than that she relies on constant visits to drive the name into her skull.

No Thanks, I'll Stay in. - Homebody: More often than not she prefers to stay at home. Hectic work and odd schedules leave her with the need to just sit back and relax. She can be coerced into going out and sometimes the bug to get up and do something in town does strike her, but on the whole she'd rather stay in and watch her shows. This makes it pretty difficult for her to actively go out and meet other people, and probably explains why she is almost thirty and single.

I'll tell you what I think - Snarky/Mouthy: While she keeps an air of professionalism with her Patients and Coworkers, if you get close to her she will let you know when something doesn't sit right with her. She tries to live by the 'a proper time and place for everything' with her confrontations, but she is human and sometimes she does make mistakes. If she can't find the time and place with the person in question, she'll treat them with cool detachment and instead tell a friend, or gossip quietly between someone she trusts and who she knows either agrees with her, or will keep it secret...at least until that 'proper time and place' is found or given.
