"Mhn.." The dark lioness rolled over onto her side, made sleepy by the afternoon sun peeping through the leaves of the scrawny tree above. How nice this was, taking a break from her constant travels and choosing a moment to relax a bit. "Deeeee-lightful~" She purred out with a soft sigh exhaled, letting her emerald eyes half-lid themselves as she looked out from her perch atop a nearly flat boulder. Perhaps this could be a day to be lazy? Perhaps~ She let out a light chuckle, letting her eyelids droop and shut completely as she rested. Meh. The scents of other felines worried her slightly, but she was far enough away to just be let alone, right? Maile saw nothing wrong with this. "Nh.."What.. Uh... What? The Water Lieutenant gazed out with pale blue eyes from the border of his tribe's part of the Arba'Sehemu lands, confused as ever at the moment. His view was locked on the form of a dark lioness out in the rogue lands, apparently resting this afternoon. Something perplexed Aluluei, though. Why was she so close to the Water Tribe? He let out a low rumble from his throat, thick tail giving a thump against the plain ground below him. As temporary leader of the tribe, he wasn't about to let some.. some rogue wander onto their lands without an explanation. This one would probably end up doing so once her nap was done. He just knew it! Sitting up from his position and giving a few glances around, assuring himself that all was well, Alu' headed off to confront this female. "What would a female like yourself be doing out here, miss?" Of course, he was always the gentleman.
A gentleman ready to chase a certain someone if they didn't go on their way. Away from his pride's land.Maile blinked one eye open to look at the approaching lion, swiveling her ears back in slight disappointment. Aw, her nap! Hmph.. She guessed he was one of the boys from the nearby pride she'd been catching whiffs of all morning and noon. "Well.." She gave a wide yawn, mouth revealing her two rows of pearly whites as her jaws made an oval-like shape before slowly closing. "I was 'bout to take an afternoon nap, sir." Lifting a front paw and giving a wiggle of her toes, she eyed the dark furred digits as they moved. "But I guess not, now, hm? Oh darn." Mai' took in a breath before heaving out a dramatic sigh, made especially for the male, before flipping herself onto her stomach and giving a flick of her tail. "Can't a weary girl rest for a bit?.. Or are you gonna chase me off?"No.. Wait... Huh? "You're.. err.." Aluluei raised a brow at the female's actions and words, front paws digging into the dry dirt underneath as he watched. That was it? No fight or resistance? Huh. And here he was, ready to spring into action at any given opportunity! Relaxing and ridding himself of the tension slightly, the lion watched the other feline as she flipped herself onto her stomach. "I do suppose you could rest, miss, but.. Well, quite frankly, I don't think I can trust a rouge." Giving a flick of his front paw at the ground to whip up a small puff and twirl of dust, he let out a soft huff. "Too suspicious, you see?.. I haven't an idea of what you're planning and where you're going. But it won't be my pride's territory, alright?" Aluluei looked down at the lioness as he moved a bit closer, a space good enough for another feline between them, as he kept his eyes on the rogue. "Now.. Why are you here, miss?"Pfft! He thought she would actually consider running right into a pride's land and try to do villainous things? How silly! "Why, I thought I already told you, guy. I'm just lazing about, hoping to catch an afternoon nap." Her voice held a bit of a snippy tone with her last words, Maile making her way up onto all four paws as she replied. Who wouldn't be a bit snippy, what with some random stranger coming up and interrupting your snooze? Ugh. "But, since you're here, I don't think that'll be happening any time soon, huh?" She gave a glance at the looming male, a look of annoyance over her face as she eyed him. Why was he so big? And why was her nap disturbed? Nothing was fair. Mai' gave a soft sigh under her breath, making her way off of the boulder with two plops, front paws then back paws, as she landed on the ground. "And my day was going along so nicely!~.. Ah well. Hey! I know what you can do. Ya can lead me to another spot to nap. In peace... And snag me a bird too, while you're with me! It's just about lunch time." Maile wasn't about to leave anytime soon with a potentially free meal up in the air.Oh no. Sure, he would lead this female farther away from the pride, sure! That could be thrown into his daily duties of protecting his tribe. But getting her lunch? No. He wasn't a slave! He was a Lieutenant! He would never, and had never, been a slave.. Alright, going out and fulfilling what the Water Chief wanted him to do could maybe, just maybe, get someone to see him as a sort of slave. In a weird way. Not really. But he wasn't about to be some sort of chore boy for some random female! "I don't think so." Aluluei replied with a slight shake of his head and a mixed sort of chuckle and scoff along with it, lips forming a small smirk in his disbelief. "Come, I'm going to lead you to a good enough resting place. Nothing more than that, though, miss...?" Err.. What was her name?"I'm Maile." She stated with a slight nod of the head, looking over at Aluluei before allowing a small frown to go over her maw at his words. "Oh, why not? It's just one bird, dude.. And getting me to that napping spot you spoke of." The lioness said, tilting her head to the side in question before huffing and starting to walk forward. "Alrighty then, fine. Just take me away from here and we'll be good, yeah? We'll never have to see each other again, so hurry~" Turning her head to give Alu' a cheeky grin after her teasing bribe, Mai' whipped up her slender tail to give him a light swat across the nose, hoping that her scruffy gray tail tuft would mess and tickle at it. Just a little payback for waking her up. "Come on. Sooner we get there the better! Oh-and-you'll-be-gettin'-me-a-bird-after-that." She threw in the last bit quickly, smirking as she turned her face away from him. Maybe she'd be able to trick him into it~"And I would be Aluluei, Lieutenant of the Water Tr-Uff!" Alu' replied back almost completely at hearing the female give her name, swiping up at his face to get her tail away from his muzzle. Gah, too late. Dude? The lion flashed a slight look of annoyance at the rogue before reaching up with a front paw and giving an unsure scratch at a tuft of his lightly copper colored mane. Ignoring the rest of her spoken words, Alu's thoughts drifted off. He was absolutely horrid at directions and navigating, but.. maybe that luck would drift away, just for the afternoon... Hold on. Wait. He knew for sure that she wasn't going towards where he intended. "Maile!" He called out, padding up to the female's side and moving in front of her to stop her determined walking. Looking down at the smaller feline, Aluluei quirked a brow and flashed an accusing look at her. "You were supposed to be following me, were you not? Ah.. Not the other way around."

Was.. was this guy ignoring what she had to say? How rude! It was bad enough that he had disturbed her day when it had been going swimmingly, but now he wasn't listening? Right about now, Mai' wasn't in the best of moods. At seeing her tail tuft's movement agitate Aluluei, she gave a quick smirk of satisfaction. Hmph. That swat on the nose served him right. Maile let out a puff through her nostrils, closing her eyes and choosing to ignore the male just as he had with her just a moment before. She was oblivious to the raised brow, the look he gave her, him stepping in front of her path and acting like a blockade. "Hmph.." She huffed out, green eyes still closed as she moved forward.... At least, she tried to move forward. But no, her neon green blotched face was met in a sort of face plant, a soft thump along with it, against his bulky side. Her speech was muffled and barely heard properly by Aluluei. "Why you.. you..." Pulling herself away and scrunching her nose in even more annoyance, Maile scowled at the lion. "Take me there then, Sir Interrupt-a-lot.""Oof!" Digging his wide paws into the ground to secure himself in place, Aluluei let out a gasp-like breath, a bit of wind knocked out of him. Gah! Letting out a small cough as he tried to regain himself, he eyed the lioness as she backed away from him. He gave a soft huff, giving a shake of his mane before turning to face her properly, not wanting to be walked into once again. Hah! She probably would if he gave her the chance, with how annoying she was being right now. "Why you what? I did nothing but try to stop you and turn you in the right direction." Almost equally annoyed at the rogue's antics, Aluluei snorted. "Fine, I will." Before turning around to lead the way, the large male couldn't help but mimic Maile to get back at her for knocking the wind out of him, scrunching his own nose and giving a large frown at the female. Anyone walking by who happened to see the two would probably think they were odd. Very odd. Why, he... This male.. He... Ugh! Maile slit her eyes in an annoyed glare at the Water Lieutenant's answer to her previous face. Giving a swivel of her ears back in reaction, she grumbled under her breath, giving up on her pursuit towards a free meal. She'd get others to fetch her something to eat other than birds. Ugh, birds. Sure, she never starved because of her skills, but that stupid bet she and her brothers had made so long ago forbid her to ever land a nice, big kill. Nice, juicy, plump red meat. She could feel her stomach nearly let out a growl at her thoughts. Letting out a sharp breath through her nostrils, she looked back at Aluluei. "Lead me to that spot now, hm? And stop makin' faces, I've got somewhere to be, don't I?" Mai' said, giving a quirk of her brow before approaching the large feline and delivering a sort of headbutt to get him moving. "You won't have to get me that meal, promise."Alu' simply watched the female's reaction to his little stunt, inwardly taking joy in being able to get back at her... Though it was a bit more rude than his usual actions. But haha! It was a little nice to act out of place every so often. Slightly moving his head to look down at her as she let out a sharp breath, he gave a disapproving frown at her words. Wasn't she odd. And rude. And.. and... He gave up on fighting this rogue. She really didn't seem to pose any sort of threat to the nearby pride, but he wanted her to go away just in case. 'You can never be too sure about these kinds of things.' Alu' stated to himself firmly in his head, turning his attention back down to Maile. "Alright, alright. As long as I don't have to hunt you that meal, I'll take you to that resting spot.. Without making anymore faces." He said, letting out a soft chuff under his breath before continuing a bit more, "I assure you."My, my, my. Had he given up on fighting with her? The lioness mused over the thought for a second before letting her head give a nod in agreement with the male. "M'kay then, it's a deal.. Now, can we get somewhere, please?" Giving him a lighter nudge once more, Maile flicked her tail as she waited for him to start moving like they were before. The possible nap awaiting at their destination was just calling to her. Oh, a nap sounded so lovely right about now. All the bickering had been boring her and was rather tiresome. "C'mon!"The male kept a rather pleased face on until he was nudged once again. "A-alright!" He blurted out, looking at the rogue acquaintance for a moment before turning his head and starting off in the direction of the nearest resting spot he knew of. After they arrived?.. Hm. He'd probably head back home and doze off as well. He needed to snatch whatever rest he could at this time, with all of the patrolling he had been doing lately. Alu' thought this over as he walked along with the rogue female, giving a few lazy sways of his tail absentmindedly during his thinking. "Mm.." He hummed out, giving a glance up at the sky with periwinkle eyes, catching sight of the sun now high in the sky. Had that much time passed already? "Come on, it's already noon. I don't think spending all day walking will be that much of a delight. All those birds for your lunch will zip away into the night at this rate. Let's speed it up, eh?"Well... Moving a bit quicker would lead to easier birds to hunt. Continuing to walk through the dry, plain grass surrounding the area, she gave him a nod of her head. "Yeah, alright. Better for me~" She replied, flashing a toothed smile at the male before zipping off straight in front of him, lunging and running off further towards the direction they'd been heading. "Do hurry, I don't know my way 'round here!" Maile shouted out as she gave a turn of her head, looking back at Alu' before motioning with a jerk of her head for him to follow and lead. She really didn't have a clue about what to do except to move forward.. and that there were some little birds to go and munch on. "Ugh, I'm starving!" She yelled out as she turned her head away from him, looking at where she was heading. Food awaited!
..Somewhere.Alu' watched Maile head forward first, a bit startled at her suddenly moving past him. Wha-what? She didn't know where the hell she was going!.. Though, most of the time, he didn't either. "Wait!" He yelled out in response, bolting after the other feline to catch up to her. While moving, Alu' gave a quick leap over a rather muckish looking puddle of water, landing with a heavy 'thump' before continuing forward to move alongside Maile. "You don't know where you're going!" He stated with a huff, looking over at the lioness before shaking his head. The male spoke in between quick breaths, wanting to keep the pace they were running at steady. "Stay by me while I'm here! I won't have anyone being attacked or killed if I can help it.. Now, come!" Without another word, he gave a gesture of his head, motioning for her to follow his lead. That spot he knew of had to be close by.. Er.. Right?
Continuing to run, Alu' thought about it. Was this the right direction?.. Knowing him, it might not be.
He was always horrid with navigating.
