Knee-deep in one of the many small creeks that bubbled lazily through the forest (and in the more open areas, such as the one he found himself in now), Tasnim peered into the clear water with his eyes half-shut, looking for all the world like a soquili that was almost asleep on his feet. However, if one were carefully observing, his gaze tracked the silvery flashes of movement that betrayed the presence of a small school of fish.

It was one of the last days of summer, the weather quickly cooling with the approach of autumn--however today, especially when one was standing directly in the sunlight, it was still warm enough that the water had been too inviting to resist.

Shaking his head slightly, Tasnim blinked at the sudden fluttering of a few bright blue butterflies--he still hadn't figured out why, but the creatures seemed to hover around him year-round, a cheerful burst of color even in the coldest of months. Perhaps he should have been thinking of what he planned to do with the rest of his day...but as usual, Tasnim found it easy to get lost in the laziness of the moment, reveling in the gentle caress of water in his fetlocks.

Leonid was enjoying the lovely day, trotting along a small path that led into an open clearing with a small creak running through it. A couple of days ago the flower he had been attentively watching throughout all of spring and summer had bloomed for the last time, and after properly marking the clearing where the flower had blossomed, Leonid was searching for a place to stay for the winter, and perhaps company to keep warm. The giant was a tad lonely, as he hadn't met another Soquili for quite some time now, and he ardently wished for a friend. The fact that he did not speak was a great hindrance to friendships, as most of the creatures he met considered him stupid because of his muteness. Leonid sighed sadly, understanding how low the chances were of him finding someone who could understand him.

He was snapped out of his daze by the flight of bright blue butterflies up ahead, and he scanned the meadow tentatively as he entered, wondering what had startled the butterflies.

Leonid was dumbfounded(Oh, ha ha.) by the Soquili he saw in front of him. The male reminded him of the last days of summer, he was so alive, with his greenery and apples, brilliant blue butterflies, and... was that a snake he saw on his right leg? How beautiful! The giant wanted nothing more than to come up and water the plants on the Soquili's back, and only his common sense stopped him from greatly insulting the male.

The cerynei gently pawed the ground, just enough to make a dull thudding sound.
