Dath just had to see for himself. He had heard of a pride full of crazy lions, but figured those that told him were just trying to amuse him. Well, more like indirectly told. He could be quite convincing when he needed to be, and he figured coming here might entertain him for a moment or two. No entertainment lasted for long, and he was tired of being bored. He'd have to find something else to do soon, sigh.

As he entered the pride's lands, he felt a stirring. It was more line an irritation, an itch one couldn't reach. How annoying. Maybe he wouldn't stay here for long. As he reached part of the shoreline, he noticed that there were so many cubs running around. Ick, guess the craziness did more than make one crazy in the mind.

Awiti had taken notice of a rather odd-looking lion that had begun walking through the pride's lands. He seemed just to be having a look around, and she was just having a look at him. He broke from the jungle to the pride's beach, and she had curiously followed him. From the thickets, she stepped from behind him to stand along side the god, munching on something that gave her a red sort of stain around her mouth. No, it wasn't blood. It was fruit juice. Since joining the pride and arriving on these lands, she'd developed quite the craving for fruit. It was odd, she knew, and some made her sick, but she had taken to liking the taste, the smells, and the textures that they had. As a matter of fact, those seeking to have their fortunes told were required to bring her fruit as a payment of sorts.

Awiti was a true seer, not one of those fakers. However, her powers had come about as a fluke, as she was not the child of a god. No, she was just the daughter of some hum-drum lion her mother had cubs with then up and left. And even before coming to the pride, she'd been a little... Off.

She swallowed up her mouthful and cleared her throat. "Whatcha doin'?"

Dath had been completely unaware that someone was watching him. He was conceited enough to assume that everyone watched him, always. He was not really used to being talked to, however. He turned his head, hid golden eyes blinking at the sight before him. An average looking lioness, sure, but he caught just the last moment of her chewing on something. Something...that most lions didn't eat.

"Uhhh..." He was so befuddled by her eating habits that he didn't really have a snide remark for a reply. He was trying to recover, but it wasn't going to be a good one. "Seeing the sights." Sights of disgusting cubs and strange adults. Maybe he shouldn't have even bothered coming here. Hopefully he could salvage a little entertainment out of the trip. He didn't like to completely waste his time.

"Though the fruit thing is a little strange," he added on, wrinkling his nose.

Awiti heaved a sigh. "Auugghh, I knoooow." She licked her chops to rid the white fur of the red stain, and with assistance from her paw, it was soon gone. Her eyes on the cubs and other pride members, she shrugged. "It's a bad habit I've picked up since being here. Seems most of the pride has a similar strange tick or quirk, if you will."

She looked at him and tilted her head. "You're not a part of the pride, are you?" She wasn't born in these lands, so she didn't know everyone, but he was far too silly-looking for her not to have remembered as a member.

Without waiting for an answer, she introduced herself. "I'm Awiti'asha. I'm a fortune teller here. A real one- not a fake." A small pout appeared on her face. She knew there were fake seers sharing her rank and that just made her mad. She had mentioned that most of the pride members had a 'quirk', but Awiti was probably one of the oddest of them all.

"No, I am not," he said forcefully. He had known of the Goddess of Insanity, and his curiosity had brought him here. Now he was really regretting it. He knew that he would never be returning to this...place where lions ate fruit. He didn't need to eat himself, but relished in the taste of death and blood. Fruit didn't have any of that.

Suppressing a shiver, he didn't really understand why she was throwing her name at him right off the bat either. Wasn't that stupid? Oddly enough, it was amusing to him. Not in the best way, but he could hold himself back a bit. See what other strange things she'd say.

"Oh, really? It'd be interesting to see what you could do," he jabbed, unable to help himself.

Aiwti nodded when he said he was a stranger to these lands. "Mmhmm. Mmhmm. I knew it. And that's not even my power!" She rolled her eyes. How talented she was. Such the clever, pretty, little lioness. She waited expectantly for his name but didn't flinch when he didn't give it up as readily as she did hers. Maybe he wanted to maintain an air of mystique. He certainly had one already. And my, he was handsome, too. Of course, maybe it was part of Awiti's on vanity that she found him handsome. After all, they shared the same colors, sans his exchange of grey for white.

And now he wanted her to tell his fortune! Well, not many did without knowing what her gift was, first. She was blessed with the sight of death. Now her visions seldom came true if something intervened within the time of her prediction and the due date of death. She'd "seen" her fathers die dozens of times, but either one had held the other up or she'd interfere, or the weather would, and the vision would be rendered inaccurate and outdated.

"If you want me to tell you your future, you must pay the price. Get me a fruit as red as you are and I will." Her request was simple, there were plenty of red fruits around, even right above them where they spoke. Her task wasn't meant to be difficult, but the challenge he gave her would be. She probably wouldn't be able to foresee the death of a god.

Dath laughed, feeling a touch entertained. What a pet that he was almost intrigued to keep. Still, it was messy holding onto something like this, and he usually killed them when he was done. No, she could stay here and eat her...fruit.

"Fine," he answered, and slinked off to find her price. It wasn't that hard to find something, though there was a limit to what grew in the salty air. Still, some strawberries would do. He returned, the complete plant dangling in his mouth. He dropped it down in front of her, a smug smile on his face.

"Does this work?"

Awiti squinted as she examined his offering. "Hmm..." She picked the berries up and dangled them in front of her face. She sniffed them and poked them and then held them next to her ear, as though she was listening, her eyes closed.

"Mmm..." She ate one, paused, her jaw working, then one by one at the rest. With the last one swallowed, she took in a deep breath and eyed Dath up and down. She stared at him long and hard without speaking.

No vision.

The lioness tilted her head and then smiled. "Well, well, well. I'm not having a vision. That means you've got to make a bigger and better offering." She stood and circled the male before sitting right in front of him, and very, very close. She leaned in until her nose was almost touching his (albeit he was quite taller than her).

"Something about you is... off. I've met a god or two in my time and several of their children. I can tell you're connected to them... But gods can die too, and if you are one, wouldn't that be an interesting thing to know your demise?" She smiled and sat back on her haunches.

"So what'll it be?"

Dath was not pleased that she got nothing. What was this, a fake show? It was clear on his face that he wasn't that amused, but still. She was strange, and he still had nothing better to do. "A bigger offering?" He grunted. Did that mean he had to go find more of those dumb berry plant things? Why was a lion eating them anyway?

"I'm not off. I'm perfection," he said with a slight snarl, though a smile was creeping on his face.

"What'll it be? I'm interested, but not sure that more berries will satisfy you," he said, surprised that she was so close to him, but still peered down at her (since he was bigger...)

"Something thiiiiiiiis big!" Awiti spread her front paws and legs to their full extent, her reach as wide as she was long. Her lavender eyes glinted. "If you're perfection, I expect you can pay a higher price for a vision, yes?" She poked the space between his eyes and trotted off.

"Come back when you've got something better to offer, okay?"

The lioness was all smiles. She'd left it vague because she loved surprises. It would be interesting to see what this lion could cook up. Awiti could tell he was not one to be underestimated. On her way back to her lair, she could be seen snapping up berries and fruits here and there, her habit as strong and as weird as ever.
