Buffy_the_Bloody It had been awhile since she had been amused. She stretched out her body, now almost an adult herself. Of course, she still had a ways to go.. But she was bigger now, and she felt more mature. Or so she thought. As it was, she was waiting for her father to choose her a Pad. She wanted to have that fairy tale love , though she was aware she should be careful what she wished for. She was certain father wouldnt give her to someone cruel, but she still should be careful about wanting to leave so soon. So she stretched out in front of her fathers den, he and his banu having gone out again for the day. She supposed she should follow them in their adventures, but she wasnt much to care about the political side of things. Only thing she cared about was finding true love. It didnt come from things like talking with other banu. She had more to do with her time, even if that meant sleeping outside the den lazily. Princess_Feylin "You know, I heard some of the younger pads talking about which of the banu around the pride were worth his time and attention," he remarked casually, sidling up to the blue adolescent as he watched her father and his banu depart. He had heard from his siblings and his father about how inappropriate it was for him to have befriended a banu, and this banu in particular. His father had acknowledged the political canniness, and almost seemed to approve with a smile that made Mirsajadi a little nervous. His brothers had ribbed him, saying that Zoey was his girlfriend. Mirsajadi had been forced to rub their noses in the dirt until the shut up, and they'd all kept the discussion to themselves by mutual, unspoken agreement. "Your name came up more than once, and from more than one speaker." He grinned, dangling the piece of information for Zoey to grasp at or ignore. If she chose the latter, he'd be disappointed, because it would be much more fun to make her work for his gossip. He didn't think he'd end up disappointed, however, lately she'd been so googly-eyed and taken with the idea of love, he didn't think she'd be able to help asking.

Buffy_the_Bloody When his voice echoed out, she quickly rolled from her side onto her belly, and her eyes went wide. He had surprised her, though it was fine.. She didnt mind being surprised, not when it was one of her best friends. He was growing rather beautifully, and this time she noticed how big he was getting. He was still that cute little cub she had met, but he had become a handsome juvenile. Though his topic of conversation made her pause, and smile. It was a halfsmile, that turned one side of her maw up, and the other side stayed where it was. They had brought up her name? Surely not.. Why would anyone consider her a catch? No one had spoken of such things to her. Not that she would hear those kinds of things. But she was Faiz's daughter, and no one had spoken for her yet. "Really?" She asked, her voice tinged with that dreamlike quality most girls got when she was thinking of being loved, and being in love. "My name was brought up? Why?" She asked, though she hoped it was that someone was planning on trying to make her their banu. Or.. Even Mirsa, even though he was still rather young. How could one not want their best friend as a mate. But still, the thought she pushed from her head. She knew better than to dream of a juvenile, that was wrong!..Right? Princess_Feylin Mirsajadi smirked, pleased with himself for having startled Zoey. She was usually so observant, it was a real challenge to come upon her unawares. On the other hand, she hadn't been expecting him to make an appearance and her attention had been elsewhere. At a guess, he would have said she was daydreaming about one of those idiot pads and pesars he'd mentioned, but he wasn't going to voice that guess. If she wanted to have mushy thoughts, that was fine, but he didn't want any part of them. "Really," Mirsajadi agreed, flopping down a meter or so away from her. "And why do you think they'd mention your name, stupid? You've got to be one of the best catches in the pride, what with your father being who he is. Only Nywele's daughters can really compete there, and only those he got on the sultan's sister at that." In truth, for all that he was a clever young thing, Mirsajadi didn't completely understand the complexities which made up the political atmosphere of the Ukuucha'Wafalme, but he could parrot what he'd heard said by people he considered wise or clever. Sometimes he learned more that way, when people agreed or disagreed. He didn't know if Zoey would know more about it than he did. She was older, but she was a banu, so it was even odds. "Also, some of them seem to think you're pretty." He gave her a slantwise look which made sure she knew he found the thought amusing. He supposed she wasn't unattractive, but he wasn't old enough to look at females that way.

Buffy_the_Bloody She nodded, thinking about what he had said. She supposed being the sultans sister would give that females cubs the best odds. But Faiz was still just as important, and that was okay with her. The other banu in her fathers pad told her she was a catch. She was going to go far and she was special.. Of course all things she didnt see if she hadnt found someone to take her yet. But when she was an adult.. she would find someone. She felt it in her bones. She smiled at him and nodded. "Yeah I guess youre right. The only way to be better would be to be the sultans daughter, or the sultans sisters daughter. I guess I dont have a bad plot in life." She agreed. She didnt tell him of the mushy dreams she had with anyone in her future. She knew he didnt care and she wasnt about to bore the hell out of him with her dreams of a prince charming. She smiled, sighing a bit as she watched him lay down on his belly. She liked that she had a friend, even if he was male. She wasnt as close to other Banu as she was with him. "And of course Im pretty." She said, flicking her head so her mane fluff would flow over her eyes in a dramatic way. She teased, and knew she wasnt full of herself, but she was good at joking around. Princess_Feylin "The sultan's daughters are old," Mirsajadi said dismissively. "Some pads might still want them, but if they do it's just because of their father. You're in a better position, I think. There's a possibility that your pad might be interested in more than your father." It didn't occur to him that his assessment, while probably accurate, could also be construed in a hurtful way. He didn't mean it that way. He would never do anything to hurt Zoey. Not on purpose, anyway. It was a fact he kept very quiet, but she was his best friend, and even with his shaky grasp of what friendship meant, he knew you didn't hurt friends. "Oh, yeah. You're gorgeous. If you like the color blue," Mirsajadi retorted. Then he returned to his initial topic, hoping to get a reaction out of her by adding, "But I guess certain lions do." He didn't say which ones.

Buffy_the_Bloody She pushed him with a paw, since he wasnt too far away from her. She knew he wouldnt be moved at all, but at least she would show her amusement. She chuckled, and nodded. It didnt bother her what he said. She knew that he hadnt meant it badly, and when he spoke of someone liking her for more than her father, she assumed he was right. After all, the sultans daughters were wanted for being just that. The sultans daughters. She shook her head, and looked at him with a bemused look. "Oh but I LIKE the color blue!" She squealed, her girly giggle coming from her throat. She had always enjoyed how she looked. She looked like father, and a good mix of her mother as well. She was pretty, or so she had been told, and she knew that she was attractive, but she didnt really.. feel that way all the time. "The smart ones you mean." She grinned. Princess_Feylin Mirsajadi had grown used to Zoey's habit of touching people casually. He didn't flinch, or show any outward sign of discomfort. With Zoey - and only with Zoey - he could deal with spontaneous contact that he didn't initiate. With anyone else, they were asking for a nasty reaction, and he was more than capable of providing it. When it suited him, Mirsajadi could be cruel, and he'd been honing that skill so that he would be more like his father, whom he admired greatly. "I'm not sure I'd call any of them smart," Mirsajadi drawled, rolling onto his side so that he'd be just out of her reach in case she decided to push him again. He also watched her forepaws from the corner of his eyes so that if she tried again he could send a paw darting out to catch her at it. He'd lately been trying to improve his dexterity and coordination so that he would win tussles with his brothers - and others - more often. "And who cares if you like the color blue? You're not going to be choosing your pad, probably. Your father isn't that ridiculous." Though to hear Tariq speak of him, Faiz was an utter moron. Mirsajadi tended to leave fathers out of their conversations, given her family's opinion of his father, and his father's opinion of her family. "But there was one who said...Oh, what was it? He said your coat was like an evening sky and your eyes its crowning sapphires or some nonsense like that. He's mixing his descriptions awfully. There are no crowning sapphires in the sky." Mirsajadi was not impressed with the other male's attempt at a poetic turn of phrase, obviously.

Buffy_the_Bloody She liked that he didnt get angry over her touching him like he had used to. He had realized she did it out of play, more than domination or lust. She had no desire to claim him, and her pawing at him was merely a way to tease him a bit. But she saw him watching to see if she would do it again. She knew she wouldnt, she was too amused at him being ready for her to do it again. When he said they werent smart, she snorted a little and grinned. "Not smart? Id say they are. They know a true lady when they see one." She beamed. When he spoke of not picking her pad, her smile fell. She knew deep down she wouldnt get to choose. That her color would not really please anyone enough for that to be her shining glory. Father would pick who she went to, otherwise.. she could go to someone truly unworthy. Though she had to wonder if someone her father would choose someone worthy.. "Yeah, I know. Hopefully father lets me have some say. I dont want to live a life where im not loved, but im property. I can share, thats not a problem.. but I want to be loved." She said with a nod, looking back at him. When he spoke of what the other lion had said of her, she grinned again, the giggle coming back. "Maybe there are and we just dont see them." She teased. Princess_Feylin "I'd know a true lady if I saw one, too," Mirsajadi said, grinning. "Even though they're in terribly short supply. I'll probably have to spend whole seasons looking for banu to bring back when I go on my quest." Sometimes he wasn't sure if he'd rather have a quick quest and just return with a banu to prove how handy he was at it, or if he'd like to have a longer one that was more epic and adventurous. Epic and adventure appealed to his youthful sense of fun, but he was always very conscious of how he was perceived, and the impression he made. "Your father gives his banu entirely too much say. He'll probably let you approve or nix every pad who comes with an offer, and give you your way." Mirsajadi shook his head as if in disgust. While in general he knew banu needed to be ruled with a firm paw, he felt Zoey might be an exception. She was smarter than the average banu, when she wasn't dreaming about stupid pads. "Your pad won't mistreat you," Mirsajadi said. He could almost have been said to growl a little, as if he would take up enforcing that statement if it became necessary. He had nothing to say on the subject of love. He didn't understand it. "There aren't," he said firmly. "Someone would have noticed by now."

Buffy_the_Bloody "He just wants us all to be happy I think. I dont know if its all his banu, or just his girls. He treats his daughters very well, and we all are rather happy under his rule. Which is why im rather scared of who I might end up with. Im used to be treating rather decently." She replied, her voice soft as she thought of her future. It could really end up poorly.. She just had to hope that someone would come along that she would like, and she wouldnt have to try to nix the poor suitor. Or that if he was bad enough to be nixed, that her father would do it before mentioning the male. "Your quest shall be fun. you will have to tell me of whats out there beyond our borders." She said, interested in the world out there though she knew she would never venture the lands herself. She had no desire to leave the pride whatsoever, but she did have that drive to want to know more.. "I hope not. I hope I get someone who respects me.." She smiled, though she heard his growl she dismissed it. She wasn't sure why he had done it, and dismissing it just made it easier to continue her conversation. "Aw, youre no fun." She grinned, knowing he was not the type for story book endings, but logic and fact. Princess_Feylin "No one would dare treat you anything less than decently," Mirsajadi said, manfully swallowing all the righteous fury he felt toward any hypothetically abusive pad who might claim his friend. "They may not be smart, but most of them aren't stupid." He frowned and amended his statement: "Most of them aren't that stupid, anyway. I don't know if they'll respect you, though. They might just look at you and see crowning sapphire eyes and your father's relationship to the sultan." He grinned slightly at the thought of his quest. He was less excited, at present, about the prospect of capturing banu than he was at the thought of leaving the pride and seeing what was out there. He knew he would come back with excellent stories and the best banu ever. Probably he'd have to fight off huge pads to get her, and she'd be totally devoted to him, like one of those simpering banus in the stories. He wouldn't mind being simpered over, as long as the banu doing it could do it mostly silently. "First you tell me my quest will be fun, then you tell me I'm no fun? Maybe you should go with Ibrahim. The two of you seem to have the same ability to pick a theme and stay with it." He laughed.

Buffy_the_Bloody "Lets hope so!" She said at not getting an abusive pad. She wouldnt be happy then, and most pads wanted their banu happy as it made them obey better. If she could obey without being abused, then maybe the need to be abused would be washed away. She thought about him going on his quest, and felt herself be slightly jealous. She didnt want him to go out and pick someone who wasnt in the pride. Every male did it, but her being older, she was realizing she didnt want to be the one that wasnt in his Pad. Of course that was a long time away, she still couldnt quell the feeling of envy. Though she knew that he had better get a Banu who obeyed, or she was sure not to like her much. "Well your quest will be fun! Maybe you'll come back more interesting and full of stories. Then your stories can compare to my fantasy tales, and we can see just how true my fantasies are." She grinned. "But ya know, it is possible to have fun without being fun." She grinned, teasing once more. "I'm kidding, Mirsa. You're not that bad." She winked. Princess_Feylin Mirsajadi groaned. "You mean to tell me you're going to make me listen to those mushy-gushy love stories of yours? Please! My quest will be epic, and there will be lots of adventure and fighting and out-witting of villains. Not silly romantic stuff." He was quite emphatic on that point. All that kissing stuff was for girls, and Mirsajadi was definitely not a girl, or in any way girly. He was his father's son. His best, if not his first. Or so he'd resolved from a very early age. His father just needed to come to recognize Mirsajadi's superiority. Which was why the striped cub knew he would have to be extraordinary. Mirsajadi let his chin drop to his paws and regarded Zoey. "I know that. I'm also at least three times better than any other pesar in the pride, so keep that in mind when you're nixing suitors. Otherwise I reserve the right to make fun of them and you."

Buffy_the_Bloody She grinned and nodded. "But only if you listen to them. You're free to ignore everything I say if you wish. Those kind of stories though are what make me happy." She nodded, and blew a stray strand of forelock out of her face. She would not be the one to ever call Mirsa a girl. He was entirely too manly, though she wondered if it was because he tried to hard. She doubted it though, she knew him enough to know that he was just like that. A strong brute of a boy. She chuckled at that thought, but locked the thought up in her head. She wasn't too sure how he'd take to being called a Brute. "So ultimately you're telling me that you are the one I need to end up with, so that I have someone worthy." She teased, though she was joking. She had no idea how close she was in mind to what would happen in the future. But for now, it was not conceivable to the female. "Oh Mirsa, in your dreams." She teased back. Princess_Feylin "In your dreams, maybe," Mirsajadi retorted. He sniffed as if disdainfully and said, "Personally, I have no intention of making someone as difficult as you are a part of my harem. I can only imagine the trouble you'd cause. No doubt you'd convince my other banu that all of you had thoughts worth hearing and - worse - that I wanted to hear them, which - I assure you - is not the case at all." And here his father's upbringing and attitudes came to the fore. Mirsajadi was willing to concede that Zoey had thoughts worth hearing, but he didn't believe that any other banu did, really. Zoey was an oddity, an aberration, and he didn't care to learn if there were others like her in the pride. What need had he for them, when he had her? "Though," he mused, returning to her one point, "I probably am the best my generation has to offer."

Buffy_the_Bloody Zoey rolled her eyes and grinned widely. She liked the conceited side of him. She was really good at reading others, and he was always himself and always had been. No fakeness to him, and he didnt only speak to her because of fathers status. He truly was a good friend. "Youre probably right." She groaned. "Why did I have to be born with half a brain when its not cared about in this pride?" She asked, looking at him. She smiled, her sarcasm evident. It was true, being smart and open was uncalled for sometimes in where she was born. She was valued for her name and her pelt. Her brain had nothing to do with the equation. "So I think you're safe. There seems to not be one other female like me." She winked, "I know." Princess_Feylin Mirsajadi was definitely old enough to pick up on sarcasm when someone used it, and had learned to use it to great effect himself, in fact. He enjoyed it immensely, as only a person newly come to its usage could. There were times when it was hard to get anything out of him which was sincere, simply because he took so much joy in being sarcastic. "Now you're just being silly, and if you're going to be silly I'm going home. I get quite enough silliness from my siblings there, and at least at home the banu are polite enough to offer me lunch." A growing boy, Mirsajadi was usually hungry, but absolutely hated to ask for food. It was his firm belief that a well-trained banu should anticipate his hunger and have some sort of food prepared and waiting for him to express an interest. Ideally, she would offer before he even had to express an interest, so that he would never be placed in a position of having to make a request of a banu, which was simply inappropriate behavior for a pesar or pad.

Buffy_the_Bloody "Oh poo." She said, standing back up and stretching out her toes. She wasnt being silly! She smiled, and nodded. "Uh-huuh. So does that mean youre leaving then?" She asked, sad their conversation was going to be over. But her own belly ws growling, and she hoped her father and the banus would be home soon. She, was okay asking for food at the moment. She wasnt a master hunter, but she supposed when it was time, she'd get the hang of it. Princess_Feylin "It does," Mirsajadi answered. "Mostly because I think I'm expected at home for lunch today, and if I'm not there people will be upset." The way he phrased it was meant to make his presence seem more important than it actually was. In fact, it was likely no one would take note of his presence or his absence, but he preferred to make it seem as if that wasn't the case. "I'll see you later, I expect," he said, getting to his feet. "So I won't bid you goodbye, but rather good day." He had only recently learned the distinction between the two and he had decided that he liked it immensely and would make an effort to use the two means of saying farewell correctly. Even if no one else noticed the distinction, he would know, and he would feel pleased with himself.
