So I was facebook sniping after some party like the creeper I am and I found this girl with dyed hair and I think is the most gorgeous thing.

And of course there is this music video where the girl's hair is bright a** pink but she pulls it off.

However most of the time when I see unnaturally colored hair all over it doesn't work. Either their hair is super damaged, the color is faded, or the roots are showing (or all of the above) and it ends up looking dead.
I sort of want to dye my hair purple but I feel like the upkeep would be pretty hard. Damn blonds for having dye able hair. =|
Bleach is expensive. Last year I had my hair dyed red and it faded out pretty nicely, as compared to the year before that when it was so obvious and ugly coming out.
Anyone have any tips/tricks?

Her eyelashes really bother me. But her hair is nice.

I had a friend who used to have a new hair color every few months, usually a combination of colors. She had really short hair though so upkeep was easy for her. She pulled it off really well and had some really cool color combos.

I have heard of people mixing small amounts of dye with their shampoo to keep the color bright but I'm not too sure about that ...

That is kinda pretty in a weird way.

My friend has white blond hair, and she used to color it and it always seemed kinda like a hassle.

But if the end result is nice I mean then its still worth it.

I don't know; colorful hair can look good but it usually doesn't. But I also think that dyeing your whole head is less attractive than just doing sections of it. Personally, I'd love to dye sections of the underside of my hair purple or blue, but I've dyed my hair like that before; it usually doesn't come out right unless you bleach (which I don't want to do) or it fades really fast.

her hair is so pretty.

Rachel (dancesewithbats) and my ex Whitney are both really good at having healthy hair while dying it.. but Rachel keeps her colors for a while. I swear facebook shows Whitney with a new color every two weeks. She is very experimental with her hair.

I like the colors, hate hate hate the style. Those curls in the front really bother me for some reason.

I always dyed my hair natural colors because my mother wouldn't let me do unnatural when I was a teenager and now I have a job that prohibits it.

BUt I haven't even done natural colors in forever. It always washes out and looks like poop after a month and the dying process is a pain in the a**s and I miss entire chunks of hair somehow even though THEY DYE IS EVERYWHERE, unless you go to a salon.

i feel like if you mixed it in with conditioner it'd work better.
i leave the conditioner on my head longer than shampoo.

alsooo use a superrr gentle shampoo for color treated hair and a really moisturizing conditioner and use a leave-in treatment or a serum on the lower half of your hair if you're worried about damage.

I love it, but I'd like it more if it was straight and not curly.

I love unnatural hair colors, but I know I could never pull it off.

Purple and blue are my favorite colors for sure.
