“I told you already, the boy doesn’t HAVE legs! Damon insisted, standing by the kiddie pool arguing with a lifeguard. Nearby in the shallow pool of water a naga by the name of Seth resided completely naked. This wasn’t entirely unusual for the boy, seeing as he had no need for a shirt and no legs for swim trunks or the like but apparently the pool staff didn’t see it the same way. His green scales glittered through the water like emeralds as he splashed and pushed around little floating animals and shapes, completely immersed in his little imaginary world.
“What do you expect him to wear? He has no legs so most swimsuits are out and he’s a guy so he shouldn’t wear a bikini if he seriously doesn’t want to be mistaken for a girl,” Damon grumped, glaring darkly at the lifeguard as he walked off. God they were so stupid some days. A naga being forced to wear swimsuits... Couldn’t even swim and they demanded he wear something or claimed the whole snake tail thing was a wake to get by without clothes and tried to take it off. Needless to say, that didn’t end well for either party involved.
“I hope you’re happy squirt, cause that was too much of a hassle just to play around in some water,” the man grumbled, running a hand through his black hair irritably.

The days were slowly getting longer, and soon would come fall, but until then, Edes worked diligently at the job he had. It was a simple job, play with the little kids in the kiddy pool. Yes, it did sound like an odd job, but the policy at this pool was that Adults would have their own time, while their kids played safely in another pool. Noel, his father, worked here too, part time. One didn't have to speak to work a concession stand. Plus, the little extra cash helped alot in these troubled times. And, though he wouldn't tell Edes, he could keep an eye on him, just incase that CODY kid wanted to pop his head in.
Edes absolutely adored this job. All the little kids were adorable, always asking for piggy backs, or to help them to swim, or to let them fly with him. Sometimes he gave in, even thought TECHNICALLY he wasn't supposed to. It was near impossible for him to refuse a child something that they wanted.
Today, he spotted a child he had yet to see before. It was a small little Naga.... He was near the cutest little thing he had ever seen! With careful steps, as not to startle the playing child.
"Hello there, can I play with you?"

Seth looked up at Edes, eyes wide at the sight of the older spawn. A green forked tongue flicked out as quickly as lightning, tasting the air in hopes of figuring out what exactly the teen WAS. As Seth realized Edes had that same, conflicting scent himself and Ily had, a slow grin began to steal across his face. “Sure!” he giggled, carefully maneuvering his tail feather fluff farther away so as to not get as wet if there was splashing. Soggy feathers weren’t the most fun to have, especially when they usually stuck straight up and tended to flop over when laden with such a heavy liquid.
“I’m Seth and dat’s m’ dad over there,” Seth introduced, looking ten times happier than he had a couple minutes beforehand if that was even physically possible. As he was mentioned, Damon raised a hand in greeting after looking the new kid over rather carefully. He wasn’t overprotective, no, just a bit on the cautious side with older strangers and his kids. Especially Seth who appeared to be the perfect type of kid to kidnap and not at all likely to scream, flail, and throw a fit unlike his daughter, Ilyrosa. Yeah... He was pretty sure if someone tried to kidnap her, they’d be the ones ending up in the hospital with those claws, spikes, and violent nature she had.
