Moar lurking, moar moar moar.

I downloaded skype due to massive boredom. But like.. I dunno if anyone here has it sweatdrop

I read a few of the "new" topics, including that one with a massive quote pyramid.

From what it seemed, was that guy kicked from the guild? He didn't seem to understand much, and tried to sound smart but missed the mark by quite a mile..

what have you missed?
WELL! Last year Tank, in a fit of guild-clean-up accidentally deleted the guild constitution and rules, and we were planning for an election, as the guild is won't to do, and I seemed to be garnering a bit of support, because the guild was dead, and me and rob (mostly rob) brought it to full life again. So there was a fascist raid around that time, and I kicked out the fascists on the spot. The rest of the mods decided against it and decided that what I did was in breach of the rules, and said the fascists should be allowed in. That determined the course of the whole election. Everyone predicted that the election would result in a purge. If I won, the right said I would purge them (and Rob was urging me to do that, I said don't bother, we are making a new guild constitution, and they will break the new rules so we will be forced to kick them so they can cry foul), and everyone knew that the right wanted to purge me, though likely not the rest of the left.

I, and the left faction, won by a mile, and the former leadership that remained active (comrade M-Mann and Demon Kagerou) quit in response, in accordance with my prediction in general, but not the particular prognosis. After the drama, a lot of people stopped being active, understandably, and we haven't really recovered.

A bit after that, I became sick, and was unable to do much with the guild, and eventually an election was wanted. I stepped aside and let it go without me (I got my constitution passed, so I'm happy, the only point to stand in an election is ego boosting and modship, and if it is necessary, there are rules in place for co-opting members of the guild to temporary mod positions, so I don't really care that much, unless another drama starts). The current leadership is woefully empty, with people who haven't posted since the election, so yeah.

Brief history of the last 2 years of the guild...

A very long time ago under a different name I helped set up how the voting was to be done under the guild, and later won a seat. The leadership has almost always been this way. You show how utterly left you are and then in a fit of mental tiredness you go a lurking and post very little of real substance. However, if you are an anarchist your posting is always among the plethora of new posts.

Well the current guild leadership isn't really subject to that: Tank got a position by virtue of... well by virtue of always getting a position, even if he never posts. Rob posts occasionally. Hero was never known for posting much at all, and I doubt he posted much during the election. Boots has a history of rather decent (if rather wrong) posting, and sephy has done maybe 6 posts ever.

That's what I was talking about.

LOL that's terrible! With how little moderation really takes place here the leadership should be most vocal. O well, I don't remember being vocal back in the day. Maybe Ill run in the next election. I have been a member of this guild for like 5 years.
