As you walk into the room you realize that it's a battle arena; no surprises really, that was to be expected. However you did not expect how dimly lit the room would be. But as you finally approach the standing area for challengers, something more unexpected takes place. The room goes pitch black. As if you weren't already unnerved enough by this, the voice of a young man echos from across the large room.
"You must be quite a skilled trainer to have beaten Roland, I offer my congratulations. However, I also offer my sympathy. For you see, this is where your path finally reaches it's end; and it's not the end you'd hoped for."
There's a moment of pure silence, quiet as the room is black. Then as if to relieve you from this silent darkness, the room is filled briefly with the light and sound of a Pokemon being released from it's ball. When the light finally fazes out, you are startled to see a pair of glowing eyes opposite of you.
The young man speaks again. "The Dark type are most interesting, don't you agree? After all, they are often outmatched in contests of pure strength. But you see, they do not need strength. The Dark Type comes out on top by use of cunning and trickery."
There is a sudden noise, as the young man had snapped his finger. With that, the light in the room returned to reveal the trainer and his Pokemon. He stood in a almost taunting stance, as if daring you to begin the battle.

There were a few red roses and petals lying about the floor around him, and you could tell that he had been sitting there before you arrived. He speaks quietly for a moment. "Life, death. Love, hate. Victory, defeat. These things can't exist without one another. Show me how well your partners can dance to the ballad of battle."
An eerie piano tune begins to blast throughout the dark arena from various speakers about the room, it's time for you to challenge the Dark Master of the Elite 4.
Battle Theme: Moonlight and Madness
The trainer smirks as he utters these words.
"Now, Let me show you the beauty of the darkness."

You release your first Pokemon and the battle begins.
