Power: Kaoru can hear, see, and touch the 'beat'(soul) of the world, specializing in his peoples "Touch" style. He also has an affinity toward wind magic
Personality: Kaoru is an easy going guy as most of his race. He finds most people to be boring and is not afraid to be a tad rude. Kaoru will however become unquestioningly interested in things he finds beautiful or artistic. He generally has a smile on his face whether goofy, bored, or lazy. This look hides his true wisdom and intellect and Kaoru is able to give deep insight into things....at least when it suits him.
History: Kaoru left his island home at a young age even on his peoples standards. Given his naiveity and unfamilarity with controling the beat of the world and hideing himself he was quickly picked up and sold off as some sort of pet. This barley lasted a year before he broke out of his master's home, gaining some new clothes on his way out. For the next few years Kaoru spent his time stealing to survive and perfecting his control of the 'beat.' This though did still not prepare him for his first encounter with a trained mercenary and thus Kaoru spent a good number of years locked up. After another escape he continuied his life much as he had, though now with a new wisdom and insight into thigns. No longer arrogant or overconfident, he's managed to defeat every mercenary or bounty hunter ever sent after him.
