The Graveyard
As I wandered weak and weary, in this land so dark and dreay across I came a slab of stone with writing engraved upon its own. I traced the words, R-I-P, and suddenly it dawned on me. This twisted place of pain and shame, was where the dead had made their claim. Floors: 10-Main Area 10-30-Catacombs 30-50-Hell
Wild Pokemon: 10-Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, Stunky, Houndour, Spinarak. 10-30 Zubat, GHOST TYPE. 30-50- All that burn/All who die/All.

Sun Guild Bulletin Board Client: ??? Mission: "Can you hear it? So loud and gross. Go investigate the catacombs and find the source of that sound!" Dungeon: The Graveyard Floors: 36 Rewards: ??? + EvoBox + 5000PD I claim this planet mission in the name of Mars! Isn't that lovely?----------------------------------- A small Glaceon sat in front of the Mission Bulletin Board in the Guild of the Sun, frowning as he stared at the posted jobs before him. It was all pretty standard stuff as far as he could tell: a few rescues, a couple of escorts, some item retrievals, and several outlaw captures. How was he supposed to pick a stupid mission from this batch, they all looked more or less the same to him!
Flash growled in irritation, shifting his weight from paw to paw and rereading the jobs for what felt like the ten-millionth time. Maybe he should just do eenie-meenie-miney-moe or something to decide... But wait a second, what was that one?
Standing up, the Glaceon pushed aside a posting for an escort mission to reveal a raggedy scrap of paper hidden by several other job requests, and as soon as he read it the pokemon was intrigued. Finding out what was making some noise? Now that was the sort of thing he'd put up as a mission if people were making it hard for him to sleep, and it didn't look like too much of a challenge. After all, how hard could finding a sound be?
And so, ignoring the dungeon, length, and lack of a client name, Flash snatched the mission from the board and Teleported away with a smile, glad to be done with his errands at last.
-----
Far from any Guild, a little settlement was nestled in a forested valley, with several tents and cabins set up on the banks of a stream. A group of pokemon was scattered throughout the site, doing various chores or simply relaxing and enjoying the day, despite the fact that the sky was starting to become overcast.
Towards the middle of the settlement, Tavian was in the process of helping little Kadi drag a particularly large piece of wood over to the fire-pit, when a familiar snapping sound followed by an equally-familiar voice grabbed his attention.
"Hey, I got your job for you." Flash remarked as soon as he appeared, waving the scrap of paper while Tavian strode over to him.
The Lucario took the paper and quickly read it, a frown appearing on his face once he'd finished. "Uh... y'mean this mission?" he said, perplexed.
Flash rolled his eyes, already starting to walk away. "Yeah that one, all you gotta do is find out what's making some kinda noise. That's not too hard for you, is it?"
Noting the sarcasm in the Glaceon's voice but choosing to ignore it, Tavian looked over the mission details again and only grew more confused. What kind of job was this? It was quite a long trek into a dangerous dungeon, the rewards were fairly valuable... all just to find the source of a sound? Something about it didn't feel quite right.
"The client didn't put their name on it, how do we find them when we're done?" Kadi noted, wandering up behind Tavian and hopping up onto his back to read the mission over his shoulder.
"Who cares? They'll probably find you." Flash called back as he continued strolling away towards one of the little cabins, but Tavian remained skeptical. Despite the simplicity of the job, this mission looked like it would be a challenge; and if they were going to accept it they'd need to be very careful...
----- Tavian && Iski && Kadi...So then why in the world was he here with only Iski and Kadi for backup?!
Well, as soon as he had decided to take the job, Kadi immediately insisted on being allowed to come, ignoring all of her Captain's complaints about danger and how inexperienced she was and demanding to come on the mission. Tavian had then tried getting help in talking the youngster out of wanting to tag along, finding Iski in another of her fruitless attempts to get Blade to stop drinking and telling her the situation. Unfortunately, instead of helping him discourage Kadi from going on the mission, the Charmeleon was all for it, and the two girls combined finally made Tavian break down and allow Kadi to come, as long as Iski came along as well to provide support.
The Lucario sighed heavily as they made their way to the dungeon entrance, glancing up at where Iski and Kadi were walking ahead of him without a care in the world, chatting as if nothing dangerous was happening at all. Even if they didn't get killed, he could tell this was going to be a long mission.
-----
Even though the sun was shining from a nearly cloudless sky, there was still a chill in the air that was accentuated by occasional rattling breezes that made the three pokemon shiver as they wound through the vast field of tombstones. Iski and Kadi soon gave up talking once they entered the graveyard, their cheer stifled by the feeling of sorrow and decay hanging in the air, and the walk was nearly silent for what felt like hours until suddenly Tavian's ears twitched and he froze, frowning as he stared intently ahead.
"What's the matter, dude?" Iski asked in confusion while Kadi stumbled to a halt with a small yelp of surprise.
The Lucario's gaze didn't shift as he murmured, "D'you hear that?"
Iski simply blinked, now even more confused, but Kadi frowned and her ears moved back and forth for a minute as she strained to listen. "Oh! I hear it!" she gasped, and Iski looked between her two companions in hopeless bewilderment.
"Well I don't; my ears aren't as huge as yours. What is it?"
Tavian paused for a moment. "...Someone's singing."
"Singing?" the Charmeleon repeated incredulously, "Who'd be singin' in a place like this?!"
"Guess we'll find out." the captain remarked with a shrug, finally relaxing and turning back to the other two as he motioned for them to follow with a nod of his head.
-----
The trio crept through the cemetery more carefully now, glancing around in case of attack and keeping their heads down, all the while following the sound that soon even Iski could hear drifting through the air: a boy's voice singing pleasantly but with an eerie edge that almost sounded sadistic.
"Ring around the rosie, A pocket full of posies, Ashes! Ashes! We all fall down!"
Louder... clearer... the voice got closer and closer with every step they took, until it seemed like it was right on top of them... Suddenly Tavian stopped, and Kadi bumped into Iski when the Charmeleon halted as well. The Lucario exchanged a wary glance with his two companions, then the three of them carefully peeked around the tombstones they were crouched behind to see a raggedy old statue that could only just be recognized as portraying a Kangaskhan, and sitting on its base with his legs swinging back and forth was the mysterious singer: a young Cubone who seemed surprisingly cheerful for someone who was hanging around a graveyard.
"It's just a kid." Iski groaned, frustrated that their caution had been wasted.
Tavian ignored her and stood up with a frown still on his face, but after a moment's hesitation he stepped forward towards the still-singing Cubone and cleared his throat to get the ground-type's attention. "Er, sorry to bother you, but d'you know where the catacombs are?" he asked, and the Cubone stared at him for a moment with his little legs still swinging.
"Sure I do, they're hard to miss." the boy said without any malice, then added in the same pleasant tone, "But you shouldn't be looking for them. You're in enough danger as it is."

-------Ty--------------- Thorn-------------- KrushThe team of three pokemon approached the gate that would allow them to enter the graveyard. There, a few feet away, was their client. The little Azurill was waiting patiently for Team D-J to come escort him to his mother's grave. With a nod of his head, Ty walked through the gate, with the Azurill close behind him, followed by Thorn and then Krush. AzurillFirst Floor: B: 5 The four pokemon emerged into the first part of the graveyard. The tombstones here were old and crumbling. The grass wasn't green, but black and dead. The trees' bark had withered away to reveal the rotting wood beneath. The only sound that came from this place of death was the wind rattling the trees, and the crunching of dead grass beneath the feet of four pokemon. "This place gives me the creeps." Thorn muttered making sure not to disturb the silence much. "I know what you mean, I feel so down just being here, and as soon as we set foot here, I've had the feeling that we are being watched." Ty responded as he looked behind him to make sure the little water pokemon was doing alright. "You doing okay?" Ty questioned as the little pokemon looked up. "Yeah... Just a bit spooked I guess. Haven't been able to come here since my big brother moved away." He responded looking back down at his feet. Ty, not wanting to bother the little guy any farther, looked back ahead to search for the entrance of the next floor. As Ty scanned for the next gate, Thorn and Krush moved a little farther ahead, and a bit to the sides of the Azurill, for added protection of the little guy. Ty's eyes locked onto the next gate and began to walk towards it. As the team walked through the gate, the shadow of a pokemon emerged onto the path and began to sniff the where the team stood just a few minutes ago. "Hmmm, back to see your mothers grave, are you? This time, you brought company for protection, but know this. None shall escape the mighty clutches of Houndour! Especially those who are related to that thieving Marill." The pokemon announced as it began to trot towards the gate, following the team.
Floor two: B: 4.5 The team of pokemon emerged through the gate only to see an almost indentical graveyard. Same dead grass, same dead trees, same gravestones, same sound, and the same feeling of dread. The group contuned to walk forward, only to stop at the screeching of a wild pokemon. "Everyone! On alert." Ty command as he and his team-mates surrounded Azurill. A few seconds later, another screech erupted from the graveyard. "T-t-t-Ty, I don't like this." Throrn murmered in a low tone of voice. "Who dares to enter my graveyard?" A mysterious voice said out of what seemed like out of nowhere. A slight chill seemed to follow the sound, creeping around the group. "I said, who dares enter my graveyard!" The voice yelled, waiting for a response. "We are team D-J, and we are only passing through. We mean no harm." Krush yelled as Thorn and Ty take up a defensive stance. "Haw! You mean no harm? Well, that makes one of us!" The voice yelled as yellow stars seemed to come out of nowhere and attack the team of pokemon. Ty and Krush protected the Azurill while Thorn held her head, trying to protect herself. "Show yourself!" Ty commanded after the barrage of stars ended. "You alright?" Krush asked the little Azurill, who was shaking violently after that attack. The little pokemon slowly nodded it's head showing it was shaken, but not hurt. What seemed like a little floating blob appeared from behind a group of gravestones, and said, "Humph. Ruin my fun by making me appear." "Who are you, and why are you attacing us?" Ty yelled taking a step torward the mysterious pokemon. "Well, I'm Misdreavus, and I'm attacking you because you are trespassers. And trespassers don't deserve to leave here, well, in one piece that is." The pokemon said, followed by a chuckling of sorts. "Now, prepare to join the rest of the pokemon in here!" Misdreavus yelled as waves of all colors shot out of it's mouth towards the team of pokemon. Ty and Krush went back to protecting Azurill, this time Thorn joined in. Once the waves stopped pound the trio, Ty and Krush turned around to face the pokemon. "Alright, Thorn stay here and protect Azurill. Me and Krush will finish this punk off." Ty stated as he and Krush took up an offensive stance. "Alright, our turn!" Ty yelled as he launched himself at the pokemon, while Krush charged on foot at the pokemon. Ty opened his mouth, and latched onto Misdreavus, making sure to hold it until Krush got a little closer. The Sandslash then jumped into the air coating his tail in metal. Ty let go as Krush landed a hefty Iron Tail onto the Misdreavus' head. The ghost pokemon floated from side to side, dazed from the hit landed from Krush. It shook it's head, and began to float straight again. "That actually hurt me!" The pokemon screamed as a dark energy started to condense in front of it. "Now, take this! Shadow ball!" The Misdreavus yelled as the dark energy manifested into a ball that was launched at the two pokemon. Krush and Ty didn't have time to react, and took all the damage head on. The amount of energy stored in ball had enough force to knock the two pokemon flying into the tombstones a few yards away. "Hehehehe!" The ghost pokemon laughed as Ty and Krush slowly emerged from the rubble of tombstones. "This has gone on long enough. Let's finish this!" Ty commanded as Krush took up a fighting stance, ready to take down this foe. Ty then launched himself at the misdreavus, latching on with his mouth as he used Crunch. Krush then jumped in the air, this time coating his claws in the metal. Ty let go as Krush landed the final blow on the little ghost pokemon's head. Krush landed as the little pokemon started to drift from side to side. "This...can't...be!" The Misdreavus yelled as they fell to the ground. Ty and Krush walked back over to Thorn and Azurill, checking to make sure they were alright. "You guys okay?" Ty ask as Thorn removed her arms from the little water pokemon. "Yea...Yeah, I think we are okay." Thorn responded as Azurill looked up at Ty and Krush. "Alright then, lets go. The entrance is right there." Krush said as the group began to walk towards through the gate. The Houndour from before emerged from behind a tombstone a few yards from where the battle took place. "Humph... They actually anaged to take out one of my more powerful minions. But they still stand no chance against me!" The pokemon yelled as he began to run toawrds the exit.[To be continued]

TEAM MONOCHROME
>>Rescue Pupitar!<<
- Floor 1 -
The trio stood at the entrance to the graveyard, looking at it skeptically. Red and Jay had no idea why they were here, only that Blue wanted them to come along. Usually they would have said something, but there wasn’t really anything to do so…why not?
“Where are we going anyways?” Red asked in a bored tone. Blue looked down at her, “There is a Pupitar stuck deep in the graveyard, and I figure someone needs to save him.” He said. Seemed like an easy enough mission, why not give it a go? They couldn’t just leave him there. Red groaned, “Why us though!”
Blue looked over the pair, “Well Vertigo is a hatchling, The Raven is spacy, GOOP concerns me sometimes, Alaisdair would rather commit suicide, and Purple is the only responsible one out of them that I trust to keep watch. So of course, the logical decision is to take Cripple and Party Boy” he said. Red and Jay both gave him a glare, “Don’t call us that!” they yelled in unison. Blue rolled his eyes, oh they were related alright.
Red stretched her good leg, being careful not to strain her bandaged side. “Whatever, lets just get this over with Feathers” what? She had the right to call him names too! Blue laughed, which really wasn’t the desired reaction, but at least he started moving. Giving him a final glare, Red and Jay followed behind, entering the graveyard with him.

They walked down a gray path, tombstones lining their sides. The names of the deceased lay written one last time on the grey slabs, making it known just who lay there. Some graves looked ancient, others freshly dug. It was rather silent, and the whole place gave them an eerie feeling that sent a chill down their spines.
Red stopped at two of the older graves, they lay side by side with white roses growing out from the bottom and climbing up the tombstones. The flowers were a nice contrast to her surroundings, and one had to wonder just how long they had been there. With a gentle sweep of her paw she moved some of the plant aside, revealing the lettering on the stones.
“Here lie …” the names had long since been lost, the stone chipped off and worn away. She kept reading however, trying to make the most of the message she could. “…friends and lovers until the end of time, may…and should their dying wish forever be honored, their final resting place…should they end just as the two had begun, together on…”
Something dull and silver poked out from the ground. Red gently brushed the dirt away, revealing a silver heart outline that went over both graves. In the center, a heart scale and an old, used Moon Stone fashioned into a necklace.
She could only wonder what pokemon had been buried here. Were they nice? How in love were they? It was a beautiful burial nonetheless, and she felt like she was ruining all of it by just being there. She touched one of the roses with her paw, they were just so pretty…
“Red! Stop fooling around, we have a job to do!” Blue called out, he and Jay already far away. She broke away from the graves, walking over to them. “Yeah, yeah, whatever…”

- Floor 3 –
The sound of someone crying nearby took their attention. It was low at first, but as they walked on it got louder. The wails were full of pain and sorrow, a loud cry that pierced the silence around them.
A Cubone sat in fetal position on top of a new grave, no tombstone but instead a skull that hung from atop a large bone that protruded from the ground. Tears streamed down his mask, a mess of blood and eggshells around him. His hands were bloodied and forever tainted, and they clutched to the skull on his head as hard as they could. He rocked back and forth as he cried, “Why, why did I do it…why did I do it…why, why, why…why did I…”
He heard footsteps and looked up, wiping the tears from his eyes and leaving a red streak behind. A Sneasel, a Vulpix, and another Vulpix-looking creature walked his way. He sniffled, standing up and taking the bone at his side into his hand.
He walked into the trio’s path, standing there with no purpose. He looked at them with empty eyes, still crying as he made no motion to wipe them away this time. The three stopped, Blue staring at him as he looked up at the Sneasel, walking up to him. The Cubone then dropped to his knees, crying at the dark types feet.
“Please…please, finish me, please…” He begged. Blue looked at him curiously, “Why would you want me to do such a thing? I can’t just end you, not even here” he said, to which the Cubone replied with more cries. “No, Please, finish me…take me away, take me back to mother, I don’t want to be here…”
Blue stepped back, and the Cubone sniffled once more. Mustering up all his strength, he stood up, looking right at Blue. “Fine then…if you won’t end my life, I’ll make you do it!” He declared, slashing at Blue with his bone. The Sneasel stepped out of the way, Red following up behind him with a Hydro Pump. The Cubone was knocked back and onto one of the tombstones, and it was hard to tell if he was crying or if that was just leftover water. If you could see his face, he would be smiling.
“Yes, please…everyone take a shot, finish me…” he mumbled, just laying there. Jay looked at him before shaking his head, “This is just ridiculous” He cast an illusion over himself, turning into a Marowak. The Cubone looked up at him, “M-momma?” he stuttered. Jay cleared his throat before getting his voice to sound more feminine, “Erm, yes, its me, your mother” he started. The Cubone sniffled, wiping his tears before standing up. He ran over to Jay and hugged him, tears streaming from his eyes more than before. “Momma, I’m sorry…I’m sorry, I’ll be good, I’m sorry…I-“
His eyes opened wide as he stayed stuck on that last letter, Jays eyes glowing gold as a multi-colored beam of light struck the Cubones head, a psychic Extrasensory that not only hurt on the outside, but messed with an unprotected mind if he wanted it to. The Cubone slid out of Jays arms and dropped to the ground, going into a series of spasams before calming down, eyes still wide open in shock but unresponsive.
Red and Blue watched, mouths wide open as it all unfolded before them. Jay dropped the Marowak illusion, looking more like himself now as he turned away from the Cubone.
“What are you, Magikarp? Oh poo, I didn’t kill him or anything, I just scrambled his brains like an egg. He’ll be fine later” Jay said, starting to walk away from the still Cubone as if it were the most normal thing ever. Red poked the young pokemon with her paw before turning away, grabbing Blue as she began to walk. “Remind me never to get Jay angry” she mumbled to him, the Zorua well out of earshot by then.

- Floor 4 -
The Houndour sat at the entrance to the catacombs, yawning as he tried his hardest not to fall asleep. Out of all the people to replace David, why him? He was used to late shifts, and this was just a tad bit too early for him… Besides, nothing ever happened at the catacombs. No one ever had reason to go in and it had been years since anything came out. Those things were sealed away safe and sound, there really was no point in standing watch…and of course they’d make him do it, he was the most useless one. Even if his father was head of the whole thing, that didn’t stop them from putting him up when someone needed replacing or everyone was at lunch.
A red, black, and white Glaceon approached him, the mark on his back in the shape of a black spade like the ones you see on cards, as well as a spade on his tail. He noticed the Houndour and smiled, “Oh, hello! You wouldn’t happen to know where Cedric Ishili is buried, would you?” he asked casually. He had a sack tied to his side, a small flower sticking out. One could only assume he was going to pay his respects.
The Houndour yawned, the guy got lucky. He had found the only one of them who knew the name, location, and even date of burial of the dead who lay here. “Just down this path, make a left. Nice little plot with a gem embedded in the top, you cant miss it” It was one of the prettier stones, he passed by it every day to work. The Glaceon closed his eyes in delight, “Thank you~” he chimed. With that over he began walking down said path, a little trot in his step. He had been walking around for a month, maybe well over that. This time he was sure to find it!
The Houndour gave him a lazy wave, yawning. You usually didn’t see such frail pokemon wandering around the graves, but he’d seen many pokemon who came every day to see a lost friend or lover. Maybe he had just never noticed this guy before, that’s all. His head lowered down as his eyes began to close, and then a loud ringing sound. What was…what was that? Could it really…no, it was impossible! A silver bell hanging by a pure white string shook from side to side, letting out a beautiful and loud ring. He shook his head, he had to tell the others… What others? They all left!
Okay, no, it was fine. As long as nobody opened the door to the catacombs, they would all be fine. That door was sealed with so much psychic, they wouldn’t even get near it. And no one was going to open it from the outside any time soon anyways. They were all going to be a-ok.

- Floor 5 –
As the trio walked on, they would notice a very elegant table in their path, white tablecloth placed neatly over it and tableware set neatly and nicely. There were empty seats all around, only two of them occupied. A stuffed Ampharos sat in one, smile forever stitched onto its face, a cup full of tea in front of it as well as a plate with some cookies. A Misdreavus with what looked like strange, feline ears floated over the next, a cookie possessed by a pink outline floating in front of his mouth for him to eat. As he finished it off, the teapot they were using floated over to the Ampharos plush, pouring its contents into the already filled cup and effectively overflowing, tea falling over and on to the tray underneath it. “Dang it Reese, you’ve made a mess of yourself again.”
A napkin came up to clean the sides of the cup, and the plushie just sat there with its grin and stared. The Misdreavus took a sip out of her own cup, “You’re rather silent today, aren’t you?” he asked it, with more silence as the answer.
Blue tilted his head in confusion at the Misdreavus, “Sir, just what are you…?” he asked. The ghost finally took notice of them, smiling as three chairs pulled out for them. “Oh! Guests, I didn’t notice we had guests! Come, sit, chat with us for awhile!” he said rather enthusiastically. Blue looked at him skeptically before taking a seat, Red and Jay following soon after. The Misdreavus grinned, and if he had hands he would have clapped them.
A cheesecake in the center of the table began to slice itself, serving itself onto a plate that faced Red. “Care for a slice?” The ghost asked, to which the Vulpix replied with a nod, “Yes please!” she watched as the plate drifted over to her, setting itself in front of her. Blue looked around, it was all rather nice but…what was one doing having tea and treats in the middle of the graveyard? “Why did you pick this spot, of all places, to eat?” he asked, the ghost laughing in response.
“Before I died, I used to be a rather dashing Persian. It was such a nice life, I enjoyed it so much” he took a sip of his tea, glancing over to the Ampharos next to him. “Once a week I went out for a stroll, unless it was raining outside. I remember that during one of these little walks I met the most beautiful Delcatty. Oh, she was so precious, so amazing! Her fur was silken, smooth and well maintained, a beautiful crimson and white combination. She was so delicate, and yet a powerful fighter, all while managing to keep her grace. “I invited her for tea in the park, and I was surprised when she said yes. It was such a pleasant evening, so we decided to do the same the next day. It became a daily thing for us, we would meet up in the part for some tea and maybe a slice of cake, talk about how out day went, and then leave before night fell. They were some of the best days of my life, I never wanted them to end."
A cube of sugar floated over to the stuffed Ampharos’s cup, dropping in with a small splash. Blue took a sip out of his own cup, they really didn’t have time for this…but hey, the guy was dead, it would be rude to leave. Give him a little joy, eh?
“Soon we started meeting for more than tea. We went out for dinner, dancing, carnivals, walks. Everything I did only seemed fun when she was nearby. And so, it only seemed natural we spend the rest of our lives together. One tea under a starry night in the park, I proposed to her. Happily, she said yes, and a month later we tied the knot. “I was an idiot, however. I was blinded by love, I didn’t notice that she was rotting. She was sick, and we both didn’t know until it was too late. Slowly, she had begun to get weaker, sometimes she was too drained to even stand. Still, she fought on. We got the best doctors, the best medicines, and while we couldn’t completely cure her she had begun to at least feel more energized, stronger and better. “Around this time she told me she was pregnant. Well, I was overjoyed. So much in fact I bought a new house, no longer were we to stay in an apartment meant for one, but in a house meant for a family. I bought decorations for the babys room, a huge bed for us to share, and even went fishing myself for a Heart Scale to give to my darling. The doctors took even better care of her, now that they were risking more than one life, and I stayed by her side the whole time. It was one morning while I was preparing our tea that I got the call from one of the nurses that had been visiting to check up on her “I ran to her side, I watched as she lay two beautiful wonderful eggs. It was yet another seemingly perfect moment in my life, and I was one of the happiest men alive. She was weak now, though, from having just lain the eggs, and her illness begun to get the best of her. She could barely move, and she had been ordered to stay in bed for the next few weeks until she felt better. “I never left her. Only to fetch food and drinks, but otherwise I was always there. On the third day after the birth, however, things took a turn for the worse. It was late, very late at night. We heard the window shatter, footsteps coming closer and closer, a slow thump to oppose our fast paced hearts. Acting on impulse, I ran to the bedroom door and locked it, blocking it off with however many furniture I could find “She had neglected to tell me until then, she was apparently someone of importance. Someone that certain people wanted either dead or alive. Not for her own actions, but for the actions of her father. They wanted to take her, and they wanted to take the egg. I wouldn’t allow that to happen. I watched as the door was shattered, everything blocking it off shredded. An assassin or a hitman depending on how you view it, and a powerful one at that. He was, if I remember correctly, a Lucario the color of night. He put his paw out, running towards my love as he got ready to strike “I stepped in the way. I took the hit for her. And then I slashed at the Lucario, but he quickly dodged. He put his paw back, his claws growing out sharper and longer. With one swing he had my throat cut, deep enough to die and yet shallow enough to stay alive for a few more moments. And so, I lay on the floor, taking my last heavy breaths as I watched from a blurry view. I refused to let go, and yet I knew I couldn’t stay. I watched, he knew I was watching. He wanted me to watch. She was defenseless, and he held her down with one paw while he took the eggs away with the other, depositing them into a brown sack before tying the top, slinging it over his back. He had gotten what he came for. And yet, he decided to do it anyways. “One quick, powerful strike was all it took. Unlike me he had made her death fast and swift, painful too. Maybe it was for the best that way. I was angry, I was tired, I was sad. I was in pain. And as her dying scream left her mouth, I decided there was no more reason for me to cling to life “So, I let go.”
The trio was silent, the Misdreavus’s eyes closed as he took a sip of his tea. “I don’t know what happened to the eggs. All I know is that she’s up above, watching me as she sits atop cloud nine as I wonder why I was left behind. There must be a reason, I know it, I just don’t know what it is yet.” He said. Blue took a sip out of his own cup, “W-wow sir, I don’t know what to say…I’m sorry…”
The Misdreavus laughed, “Oh, no! Don’t worry about me, I’m already dead. I should be thanking you, for listening. Its been a long time since someone stopped to have tea with me” he said, a smile on his face. Red swallowed down the last of her Cheesecake, crumbs all over her face. “It was an awesome story, glad to hear it!” she remarked. Blue took a napkin and wiped her face, “Yes, really delightful. Well, it was a pleasure getting to know you, but we’re kinda in a rush…”
Blue began to lean to the side as if to get up, the Misdreavus looking at them with a heartbroken expression. “Y-you’re leaving?” he stuttered. Blue nodded, “Afraid so, some other time thou-“”NO!”
At the yell of no a glow began to surround the chairs, lifting them all up into the air. “For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had friends, someone to talk to…” He began. Needles and threads began to come out from under the table, swirling around the three and getting dangerously close. “IF YOU WON’T STAY WITH ME, I’LL MAKE YOU! I’LL TURN YOU ALL INTO PLUSH TOYS, WE’LL BE BEST FRIENDS FOREVER! YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE ME! YOU HEAR ME, LOOO-“
He was cut short as a lime green Zorua shot forward at him, slapping him before bouncing back and onto the ground. All the objects that had been possessed fell onto the ground, and the Misdreavus gave out a shriek of pain. Red and Blue fell to the ground with a loud thud, and Blue groaned as he glared over at the Zorua. “What the heck Jay!” he shouted, and the Zorua only shrugged, “b***h was crazy.”
The Misdreavus’s eyes began to glow, an angry frown on his face. “Oh? So I see one of you doesn’t want to be friends. No matter, I’ll just wipe you away like the little stain you are. Theres still two left anyways, that’s more than enough! Reese didn’t like you anyways!” he shrieked. A chair was lifted up into the air, and the Zorua turned into a Staraptor, flying up and at the chair, breaking it into tiny pieces. He stopped right next to the Misdreavus, the ghost making a face of mixed emotion (more specifically, rage, shock, and surprise). Jay became surrounded by a crimson aura, his eyes glowing bright blue as he slammed a wing into the ghost, the aura spreading off of him as it pulsed out in a dome-like shape. The Misdreavus hung in the air for one moment, let out a soft moan, and then fell to the ground, eyes closed.
Once again, Blue and Red stood there and watched, mouths hung open in shock. Jay landed on the ground in front of them, turning back into a Zorua. “If you guys are going to let me do all the a** kicking, then just tell me now, so I’ll be ready” he told them, starting to walk away. Blue was the first to recover, “Hey! You’re just hitting them first, is all! I call dibs on the next one” he said, and Red shook her head, “Yeah! And I’m going to sit back and now get my paws dirty!” she said, joining them. The two looked at her, “Hey, you’re the ones so eager to beat stuff up. Why should I do the work if I got two guys doing it for me?” she said. She put her head up high and began to walk away, the two stopped in their tracks as they stared at her. She looked back at them, “What? Stop looking at me like that, we got a mission to get back to! We’ve wasted enough time already!” she barked, and the two looked at eachother before following her forwards. Well, that was some logic they couldn’t argue with.
Behind them they left a flipped over table, a teapot with its contents slowly pouring out. The vase with flowers in it lay on its side, the flowers crushed. Plated were scattered here and there, as well as the cups, some shattered, others only cracked. The cookies and cake were on the ground now, inedible, and threads with needles on the ends . The only thing that stayed standing was a pale white chair, seemingly untouched by the whole fight, with a smiling stuffed Ampharos sitting in it, its hands folded neatly on its lap as it waited for its owners next call.

A loud howl resonated throughout the Graveyard.
A Houndour stood nervously at a rattling door, whatever was inside wanted to get out. His paws shifted from side to side, had the howl not been enough? Had no one heard him?
Three other Houndour came out of the shadows, “You called?” one asked Oh thank Arceus. He let out a nervous breath. “Someone broke the seal. They’ve gotten out” he said. The one who had originally spoken looked shocked now. “W-well you’re the boss…” the three looked ready to pee themselves. There were few that the Houndour who had been currently standing guard had superiority over, but his underlings weren’t exactly the cream of the crop.
“Alright, listen up guys. I’m ordering an immediate lockdown, nobody gets in, nobody gets out. Any intruders are to be told to leave, and if they object they are to be attacked. Any of them…” he looked over at the door to the catacombs, “…are to be shown no mercy”
The three nodded, and the Houndour sat down. “Good. And now, all of you, sit down, stay, and wait” he said. They did as instructed, though they obviously weren’t too happy about it. Aside from the one giving orders, they weren’t really good fighters. Whatever was in there was going to slaughter them easily. The only thing they could do is distract them for the real threats to get here.

The Glaceons ears perked up at the sound of the howl. “Oh?” Once it left, the silence washed over. “Well that was odd” No matter. He was here, after weeks of searching he was finally here. That’s all he needed.
He untied the sack from his back, it falling down and hitting the floor without making a sound. He looked over the grave, there was an aqua colored stone embedded in the top, the name “Cedric Ishili” printed in nice, tall, bold letters. The Glaceon grabbed the flower and pulled it out, a red liquid covering the bottom of the stem. He put it down on the grave, a smile on his face.
“Hey Cedric! Look, I’m back, just like I promised. I brought you a Hibiscus, I remember those were your favorites” he said, sitting down. He stuck a paw into the sack, fumbling around before he finally grabbed something. Slowly, he began to pull out what the sack had been holding…and anyone would be surprised to see it. A heart, a real heart, clutched right in his paw. It was starting to show signs of decay, but for the most part he had preserved it with his ice so that it would stay fresh.
He put the heart down on the ground, right on top of the flower. “I’m sorry I ripped this out of you. I couldn’t help myself. But it didn’t matter; you were on my list anyways. It was bound to happen.” He pawed at the heart, poking it a few times before finally leaving it alone. “Claramond told me I couldn’t keep it, so I thought I should give it back. It would have been a nice piece to my collection too, yours was…different. Different in a good way.” He began to turn around, the faint light around him bounding off of something on his side, a sheathed sword on his waist. “Maybe yours was purer than the others, or maybe it was more tainted than the rest.” he mumbled, walking away.
All he had to do now was follow the same path back to the catacombs. And just in case he couldn’t do it himself, because it was highly likely he couldn’t, he had made his own trail. If anyone had cared to notice, there were small shards of ice formed in a line, like Hansel and Gretel with bread crumbs. Only, he wasn’t Hansel or Gretel. And these weren’t bread crumbs.
He trotted off, a big grin on his face as he hummed a jolly tune to himself. Now he just had to hope Claramond didn’t kill him for taking so long!

The sound of a howl not too far off was almost masked by the sound of a grumbling stomach.
“I’m huuuuungry!” Red whined, clinging to Blue’s arm. Blue dragged himself forward, “You just had a slice of cheesecake” “But now I’m hungry again!” she pawed at their bag, Blue swatting her away like a bug. She winced, trotting over to Jay and clinging to him. “Jaaaaaay, doo somethiiing!” she whined, to which he only rolled his eyes. “Stop dragging your words, Cripple” she winced at him too, “Shut up Fluffy.”
She began to slow walk, letting herself get left behind by the rest of the team. Once she was far enough, she began to run, jumping up and onto Blue’s back, knocking the Sneasel over. He flailed madly under her paws, unable to get back up. She yawned, jumping up and down on his back. “Feed me! Feed me, feed me, feed me!”
He groaned, “Fine. Just get off of me!” “Okeii~” she chimed, gently stepping off of his back. He got up, dusting himself off as he reached into his bag, pulling out three apples. Tossing one to Red and another to Jay, he began munching on his own, taking a big bite out of the side. Jay pretty much ate half in one bite and half in another, oh he was a relative of Reds alright. Speaking of, the Vulpix looked at her apple curiously, head titled to one side as she turned to Blue. He swallowed his bite, “Oh boy, whats wrong?” he asked. She touched it with the tip of her paw, “…slice it”
He nearly choked. “You can’t be serious…” “Oh, but I am.” He glared at her, picking up the apple as he let his right claws extend. Three swifts movements and the apple was sliced into tiny pieces. “You’re ridiculous” he said, holding the slices out to her. She sucked them all up, “Thank you~” she said. He only made his glare stronger, “I didn’t come here to be your personal fruit slicer, you know”
Jay let out a loud burp, picking out the pieces of apple from his teeth with one of his claws. “Quit complaining, Feathers, and get a move on. I don’t like wasting time” “Yeah yeah yeah, I’m going”
The three began moving once more, stomachs filled and spirits high.

Four Houndour, three in a row and one in front of them, blocked their path. Blue tried to get around them, but there was no way. “Um, sir, we really need to get through, we’re kinda on a mission…”
The Houndour looked at him straight in the eye. “You picked the wrong day for a rescue mission, bub. No one is allowed to go into the catacombs today, and if you want to pass you’ll have to get through us first.” He said. Blue narrowed his eyes, “Can’t you make an exception?” “Nope. Thems is the breaks”
He groaned, “Who are you to say we can’t go!” The lead Houndour cleared his throat to speak, looking back at the three behind him before facing the team. “I am the current lead of the no-rank squad, son of Marlow and Doiranne, Brent.” He said boldly, not once faltering. Once he had finished, the first in the line behind him spoke up. “S-second in command should our courageous l-leader fa-ail, s-strategis-s-st and deci-deci-decisionmaker, Stephen” he stuttered. He looked very timid, though smart too, and there was a pair of glasses perched on his muzzle. It genuinely looked like he needed them to see.
The one in the middle quickly began to introduce himself, he had one of his ears torn and the other heavily bandaged.“WHAT? MY TURN? I THINK ITS MY TURN. FORMER ONE-BONE CADET, ECHO” He yelled. All of the Houndour broke their stances to cover their ears, “He was dropped down a notch since he lost his hearing…” Brent muttered.
A light cough came out, of course they were forgetting her! The last of the group looked a tad bit feminine, but what would you expect of the only female in the group? The last Houndour had a slightly lighter colored fur and darker muzzle/belly. She had a strange collar latched onto her neck, and she looked much tougher than any of her teammates. She seemed to step forward a bit before she spoke, making herself stand out. “Long-time member, currently not allowed to move up because of…difficulties, Amber”
“We are the Graveyard Guard, chosen to protect those that rest here and in the surrounding area.” “S-sworn to du-du-duty, we l-live here a-as we will d-d-d-die here-” “WE FIGHT HERE AS WE SHALL FALL HERE!” “And we’ll risk all we have together, for we fight as one single force, a team”
“Now get out”
The lead Houndour looked at them sternly, he would enforce what little authority he had. Everything was silent and still, the rescue team trio just stared back…and the Jay ran forward and punched him in the face. “Jay!” “WHAT THE HELL MAN!” “Hey, don’t yell at me! I didn’t like that look he was giving us, so I thought I should wipe it off his face.”
“Brent!” Amber shrieked, looking at the other Houndour. It was a hard hit, his head had actually turned and faced the floor. He coughed, “I’m alright, don’t worry about me…” he looked over at Jay and his companions, “Get ‘em guys!”
They were scared, but did as told. Echo, fortunately, heard that one and pounced towards Blue, the Sneasel just barely steeping to the side. Well, this was a disadvantage…the two dark types technically canceled out, leaving fire vs. ice…not good. He extended his claws, glaring over at Echo as his right paw began to glow white. “It’s a shame, you look like a good fighter, but since you can’t hear it coming any more…” he mumbled, but it wasn’t as if the canine would have heard him otherwise.
Brent and Amber looked over at Jay, and he smirked. “What, you two want somma this?” he taunted. Brent looked over at the female, “You know what we’re going to-“ “-yeah, I know” she knew the answer before he had even finished. “Only if we need to” he added, and she just nodded and gave a quiet “Yes sir” Before looking over to Jay, her teeth igniting in flames. The Zorua grinned, his eyes becoming full of malice as he began to cook up a Nasty Plot. He needed to get stronger, much stronger, if he wanted to take on two.
Red yawned, she’d let those two take care of it, frankly she was just here because there was nothing else to do. Stephen slowly began to make his way towards her, his body trembling in fear. “I-I’m warn-warning you one-one last t-time, leave or I-I’m going to h-have to hurt y-y-you!” he stuttered, though he didn’t seem to have the strength to back it up. Red looked at him with a bored look in her eyes, “Oh yeah fuzzball? I wanna see you try!” “I-I’ll show you!”
He began to run towards her, pouncing into the air and landing infront of the Vulpix. She stood up, and the two of them drew their paws back as if to strike with one, hard, finishing blow…and then when they thrust them out their front paws began flailing around. Yup, no doubt about it…they were pansy slap fighting. “You’re gonna be so sorry you ever messed with me, TAKE THAT!” “W-well than have some of THIS.” Blue’s paw came down hard, but before it could land a hit Echo bit down on it, his sharp teeth cutting deep into the Sneasels skin. He gave a sharp cry of pain, even Echo heard it, and he already felt his arm igniting in a hot, blazing pain. Damn Fire Fang. At this rate, he wouldn’t have an arm…
“Sucker”
He said it loud and clear enough for the dog to hear. A smirk came across his face and he began to ignore the pain signals being set off in his arm, actually hoping the mutt wouldn’t let go. He drew back his left arm, and the Houndour tried to let go and run, but it was too late. His fist came forward with such force that when it collided with the Houndours skull a loud crack resonated throughout the area. He flinched, closing his eyes, as his jaws let go of the Sneasels arm and he fell back and onto the ground. He curled up into a ball and whined softly to himself, it hurt, it hurt…
The whining stopped and the Houndours body became relaxed. Blue looked over at him, he couldn’t have, he didn’t hit him that…a soft rise and fall of the chest confirmed that he was still alive, and Blue let out a breath of relief. Yes, everything would be- OHCRAPHISARMWASBLEEDING. It hurt, it HURT! He grabbed his right arm with his left and held it close to his body, Arceus dammit. Now he couldn’t call Red a cripple, though her injury was probably worse.
Speaking of, the Vulpix was back to her sitting position, panting as was her opponent. Now this, this was just ridiculous. Stephen glanced over at her, “I’ll get you with a fire…fire…fire fang!” he panted. Red looked at him and rolled her eyes. Oh, no he wouldn’t! She put her injured leg up as if limping, her ears going to the sides as her eyes got wider and teary. She looked…well, adorable was an understatement. The Houndour couldn’t take her eyes off of her, “Woo wouldn’t hurt mwe, wight?” she spoke to him in a baby voice, and he couldn’t help but nod. “N-no, I couldn’t!”
She blinked, spreading the tear water over her eyes so they gained a sort of sparkle. “Do mwe a favwor?” she asked, “Anything!” oh Arceus, in her mind she had the biggest grin. “Pawnch youwrswelf?” she asked, and although hesitantly, he did so. She blinked, “Agwen?” He did so, and this process repeated itself until he had beat himself silly. Once he was down and on the ground she shook her head, her ears popping back up as she put her paw on the ground, eyes going back to their normal brown as her smile turned into a smirk. Blue couldn’t help but notice, “How do you do that?” “Its an art”
Jay still had his two to take care of, however. The Zorua stamped his front paw on the ground twice before taking off running towards Amber. He wasn’t blind, he noticed how Brent had hinted at her ever so slightly. Get rid of her, get rid of him, two birds with one stone. Streaks of light came out from a point in front of him as he jumped into the air, almost as if flying, as he went towards the female with Aerial Ace. He was going fast, too fast, and before she could even react he had struck her in the side, pushing her over and onto the ground as the streaks left him and he landed. Brent looked at him with anger, his mouth opening wide as he let loose a flamethrower at the Zorua. Jay slipped to the side, the lime-green tips of the tuft of fur around his neck getting singed. Eh, he’d fix that later.
Now, wait a moment...how big did a gap have to be for a Houndour to slip out of it? Alright, new plan, just re-thinking everything here…a Protect went up around Amber, forming a bubble around her that kept her imprisoned within it. It was hard to see her through the dark walls, and it was just perfect for him.
He ran over to the bubble, going behind it and seemingly disappearing. He came out on the other side of the Protect, his appearance completely changed. He was a Houndour now, feminine with a collar around his neck and lighter fur. Sound familiar? Behind that protect no one saw him change, and hopefully that would be enough. “Amber?” “Who else would it be?”
Brent stayed frozen in place. But wasn’t she in…didn’t he…where had…the Zorua approached him, sitting down so close to him their shoulders almost rubbed. He tried to mimic her voice the best he could, and the real Amber was muffled inside of the Protect. Jay put his head over Brent’s neck, “Its just me, only me…”
The Houndour blushed. What he believed to be his…you could call it a crush, was on him, breathing on his neck. It was surreal, it wasn’t happening. “No, You’re not-“ “what? Just because I finally showed some interest you’re denying me?” sounds of pounding came from inside the protect shield, but they were muffled enough not to bother. Jay only glanced over at it before turning back to his little victim. He pulled away from the Houndour, “You look nice right there, moonlight hits you perfectly. I think you should stay right there…” he said. The Houndour’s blush grew stronger, “R-really?” “yeah”
He sat down where he was and Jay turned away, “Yes, you’re perfect right where you are…” he mumbled before turning around, walking right back over to Brent. He looked at the Houndour with a smile, and while Brent was distracted staring at him he didn’t notice Jay’s paw lifting up and becoming enveloped in darkness until it had already hit him in the stomach, sending him tumbling down. Brent writhed in pain, “why…why would you…” he huffed, Jay only responding with a kick to the side. “You’re pathetic. Falling for such a trick, no wonder you’re the leader of the loser squad” his voice had gone back to normal now, and he jabbed at the Houndour again. “She’s too good for you, you thought you had a chance?” he mocked, delivering two more blows.
Beaten down both physically and emotionally, the Houndour couldn’t find the strength to pick himself up. Jay dragged him over to where two tombstones were placed next to eachother, one leaning downwards and the other standing straight. He put the Houndour between the two, taking the leaning one and pushing it down, the result being the Houndours head locked in between the two. Jay trotted forward, looking down at Brent. He was beaten, eyes open, but beaten. “You’re an idiot. A lovestruck idiot. Sometimes, you have to think abit for yourself, kid. If you would have ignored me you probably would have been able to save your friend over there” he changed back into a Zorua as he finished the sentence, flicking his head up so his bangs could get out of the way and he could (sorta) use both eyes. “And now look, just cause you couldn’t get your priorities in order you’ve not only hurt yourself, but your teammates as well. Your deaf buddy over there probably broke his head, your stuttering guy beat himself, and your girlfriend is about to be toast.”
“Take this one as a lesson boy, never try and just charge into battle like that again. Think it out first” He said. Brent opened his mouth to speak, but all that came out was a low groan. He didn’t know Zorua could do that, he never had dealt with one…if only he had known…
Jay sent a black wave of Punishment at his protect bubble, a huge wave. Brent could only watch, dreadful of what might happen.

The protect shattered upon impact, sending Amber flying into the air. She had been ready for this, however, and had quickly righted herself half-way up.
“You…I won’t let you get off with deceiving our captain like that…I won’t let you hurt my comrades!” she shouted at Jay. At the peak of her flight upwards she became coated in flames, her body enveloped by so much fire only a black shape resembling her and her angry eyes becoming visible. “BLAZING COMET!” she shouted, pointing towards Jay as she literally flew towards him, using her fire to propel her. Red hot flames streaked behind her before fading away, and it became pretty clear this was no ordinary Houndoom.
“WHAT THE-“ Jay jumped to the side, his bushy tail brushing the flames and getting singed as the Houndoom crashed behind him, dirt shooting up into the air with a loud boom. Amber stood in the hole created from the crash, still enveloped in flames. She panted, dang it, she was getting carried away again…it was this sort of thing that kept her…
She jumped into the air, moving up and forwards and past Jay. “Two can play at that game…” he mumbled, white streaks enveloping him as he shot into the air as well. Aerial Ace versus an airborne Flame Charge, it was deadly. The two of them turned to face each other at the same time, going at each other at high speed. They were two blurs in the sky, a shimmering white trail behind one and flames licking behind another. They collided, staying in place for a moment before it backfired on them and the force of their two attacks caused an explosion, sending both of them tumbling back.
Jay was able to twist in the air and land on hit feet, skidding back and kicking up dirt until he came to a halt. Amber wasn’t so lucky, and with all her energy used up she couldn’t correct herself. She fell on the ground, rolling back until coming to a stop, her fur smelling burnt and full of dirt and blood from freshly opened wounds. Jay didn’t get off well either, panting while his legs trembled, threatening to give up and let him fall over. There were random marks where his fur had gotten burnt, and his paw pads were all cut up from sliding back how he did. He could already feel it, it was warm and gushy. His own blood was trickling down on the undersides, and the only reason he didn’t mind it is because he was trying to push away the stinging pain on his paws.
He walked over to Amber, looking over her before turning away. “It’s a shame, she’s kinda cute…” he mumbled, before going over to join his team. “Off we go, then” he said, walking over to the entrance to the catacombs, the pair following behind him. The only one left unscathed was Red, though her arms were kinda sore from all that moving up and down.
As they approached the door, Brent picked his head up with all the strength he had. “Please…I’m begging you, don’t open that door…” he moaned, Red shaking her head. “A missions a mission, we gotta do it” she replied. Blue did the honors, opening the door for them. The first thing to happen was a cold wind rushing out, chills going down all their spines. The second was a low, chilling laugh filling the air around them. After that, a rush of air, about five small, ghost-like creatures rushing out and floating up into the air.
“FREEEEEDOOOM!” a voice shouted from deep inside the catacombs, the echo resonating throughout the entrance and out towards them. Red gulped, “oh Arceus, what have we…” she whispered to herself. Blue stared into the dark passage wide eyed, “W-well, here goes nothing…”
He took his first steps in, Jay hobbling in after them. Red thought for a moment before reluctantly stepping in, she was too young to die dang it!

“It smells…weird in here” Red said, an attempt to break the silence among them. Jay, who was lagging behind his two teammates by a couple of steps, took a small sniff. “Smells like death” he commented, taking a small, painful step forwards.
Blue stayed silent as he looked around. People were buried here, right? It was kinda creepy. There were bones sitting on small, square, platform like indents in the walls, many of them easily identifiable as skulls, and much more on the floor. The idea that earlier he might have stepped on a rib wasn’t comforting in the least.
“Red, can you come up here and give us a light?” he asked, and she trotted forward, a smile on her face despite where she was. A flame started up on the tip of her nose, “Better?” “Much”
Loud sounds of someone – or something – eating caught all their attention, now who would stop for a snack in a place like this?

A mountain of food. There was no other way to describe it other than a mountain of food. What the team would come across was quite literally that, and sitting atop it like a king was a rather pudgy Gengar.
It was blocking the way, they would have to either dig through it or walk over it. Red drooled at the sight, “Oh my…food!” she prepared to leap on it, but Blue grabbed her collar before she could do anything. “Stop that”
Jay finally dragged himself over, “Just who in the…” he mumbled, looking over all of it. Blue looked over, “Maybe if we’re real quiet we can sneak by…RED!” The Vulpix had sunk her teeth down on a big chunk of meat on a bone, it was fresh and she hadn’t even had to hunt for it! Easy snackies! As she sunk her teeth in, The Gengar finally took notice of them, “HEY! Get away from my food” he yelled. Red began chewing her piece, “Er whot?” she asked, bits of food coming out of her mouth. The Gengar growled, sliding down his food mountain and standing in front of Red, snatching the meat away from her. Her eye twitched. “And just who do you…who do you…!”
He took a bite of a nearby donut, “The names Gluttony now. I used to be a Snorlax, y’know. I ate so much I got sick and died, I was real bad though so I came back down here. Long time ago got locked in here with the rest of my family, but I ain’t complaining. I got all the food I could ever want!” He waved a hand at the Vulpix, “Now shoo, you pest!”
Red began to growl lowly, her ears flattening as her tails lowered and her fur bristled. Blue shook his head, “You’re never supposed to get between Red and a piece of food, much less take it away and deny her of it…”
She bit down on the Ghosts hand, just as she did so she sent a flamethrower at it. She kept her mouth open, sending out an energy ball followed by a jet of Hydro Pump. She just kept hitting him with attack after attack, not even letting him get up. She stood there, finally done, as she panted from exhaustion. Gluttony was on the ground, eyes spinning as he lay there. Dang, all that time locked down here made him weak, he had to wonder how the others would hold up. Red trotted over, grabbed the meat from him, and held it in her mouth as if it was her prize. “Lets keep going~” she chimed, walking up the food pile. Blue and Jay followed her, Jay having some trouble with getting up. Every now and then Blue looked back to make sure the Zorua was still with them, and Jay would only give him a stern look before pressing forward.

The Glaceon yawned, hadn’t he seen this tombstone before? Dang, he had gone in a full circle! Curses, the ice trail didn’t help at all. Time to re-think…he sat down and looked around, he was just so tired…
The sound of footsteps behind him, a hand coming down onto the top of his head and ruffling his already messy “hair” a bit as if he was getting pet. It was a soft, gentle touch and easily recognizable by him. He hadn’t even the need to look up and confirm it. “Oh? Breaking the rules now, are we Clara?” He glanced upwards, a Gardevoir with black where the green was supposed to be and a light gray horn above him. She ruffled his hair even more, and he gave an impulsive purr. “You know I’m the only one allowed outside”
“There are intruders, they’re coming our way. I felt them, they’re in the catacombs” she said. The Glaceon perked up with interest, “Intruders? Lovely, I haven’t met anyone that I didn’t have to kill to bring back lately.” He purred. The Gardevoir nearly facepalmed, “They might be a threat. We’ll need you back, since you…well yeah, you know you’re special” “Yes, I know, we both have to go back to hell now, don’t we?” The Glaceon was answered with the Gardevoir closing her eyes as she teleported them back to where they belonged.

A black velvet armchair was set up against one of the walls, a Frosslass sitting in it with her left arm resting nicely on the chair and her right arm with the elbow standing on the chair, a glass of wine in her hand. She had a bored look in her eyes, as she stared forwards at a fireplace that had obviously been built in there way after the catacombs had. A blue fire cackled in it, lighting everything up with a cool glow. A Banette in a vest stood next to her, a tray in his hand with a bottle of wine, an empty glass (presumably for himself), and three cups – one with strawberries, one with cherries, and one with melted chocolate.
“One more, please” the Frosslass said, and the Banette took one of the cherries, dipped it in the chocolate, and held it up to her mouth. She stuck her tongue out and grabbed it, pulling it into her mouth stem and all. She chewed it before silently swallowing, lifting her empty left hand to spit. Once she did, two things were in her hand: the pit, and a tied cherry stem. She held it over to the Banette, who took it in his hand and threw it away in a nearby garbage can. “Anything else, Miss?” “No, thank you”
She looked over at the trio, “Come over and sit, all of you. Stay for some time, please” she said, waving her hand. The Banette set the tray down and produced three chairs out of nowhere, two set close to the Frosslass and the third next to one of the chairs, but somewhat farther away from them. He guided Blue and Jay to the chairs next to the Froslass, leaving Red to seat herself in the one farther away.
The Froslass took a sip of her wine before setting it down on the Banettes tray, which he had gone back to holding. “I am Lust, and this is my personal servant, Envy. Allow me to tell my story first”
“I used to be a gorgeous Lopunny, gifted with a body and looks so fine I was irresistible. I was born to a rich man, so I was already very well known, and the plenty of suitors for me I found no love for, only a small interest in some of them. I was curious, and something just drove me down that path. I remember that my first was my servant, a young man about the same age as me. He was a Blaziken, and now that I think back it was all forced upon him. I apologized some time later” her Banette servant seemed to blush when the Blaziken had been mentioned, looking down at his feet.
“Anyways, I went down that path. And you know what? I enjoyed it. While it lasted, anyways. Woke up one night with a gun pointed to my head, apparently my whoring around got some people against me. And, well, here I am” she looked over at the Banette, setting her empty wine glass down on his tray and moving her left hand over to touch Jay’s ear, lightly petting his fur. It was…comforting, oddly the Zorua liked it. It felt nice and gentle, and yet its icy coldness bothered him. “Your turn” she told her servant.
He cleared his throat, “Ahem…I was said servant. My name is Envy, I used to be a poor man, working for the minimum for her while my parents did the same for her parents. I would always be there to cater to the wealthy when parties were held, and I envied all of the rich who attended. All the men she brought home, I envied them as well, none of them seemed deserving to me. All I knew how to do was envy, and when my mistress was killed I took my own life and followed her into the dark, where I would remain by her side for the rest of our afterlife”
Lust took her now free right hand and stretched it over to Blue, brushing at his own arm. “You know, I wouldn’t mind if these two stayed here forever, to keep me company…” she looked over at Jay, then at Blue. “They both look nice, I don’t know which one I like…” “Lady, no way we’re staying here” Jay said, slipping out from underneath her hand. She raised a brow, “oh?” Lust reached over and grabbed him by the scruff, her right hand taking tight hold of Blue’s arm so he couldn’t get away. She pulled the flailing Zorua over to her, planting a kiss on his cheek. There was a faint hint of a glittering heart, and Jay’s eyes turned from angered to lovestruck. Attract came in handy sometimes.
She put the fox down on her lap, who promptly sat down and pressed his head against her. She then blew a kiss over to Blue, a shimmering heart forming in the air around him before fading away. She had the both of them, which was just what she needed.
A cough from somewhere more off to the side, “Ahem…you’re forgetting about someone” “Oh? Pardon, I usually don’t pay attention to any female companions” Red looked at her angrily, some smoke coming out of her mouth as she prepared a flamethrower. She opened her moth wide, a powerful jet of flames coming right at her. The Frosslass simply stayed in place, she didn’t have to fight her own battles. She had a servant for that. Envy stepped forward, dropping the tray and putting his arms out to block. Red didn’t stop, though, and just kept the fire coming until she couldn’t anymore.
Her mouth tasted like burnt, and she didn’t even care which of the two she hit, so long as she did hit. Envy lay on the ground, scorched, the bottle of wine spilled and the glasses shattered, strawberries and cherries thrown over the floor with liquid chocolate slowly spilling out of its container. Lust looked over at Red, “Tsk, looks like you got me. Good thing I’m already dead” she said, putting Blue and Jay to the side. Red glared at her before opening her mouth, letting out a weaker, yet still dangerous, flamethrower at her. She shrieked, her eyes closing as she fell over, her head resting on one of the arms of her chair as the two boys snapped out of Attracts spell. “Whu? What happened?” “You’re both stupid, that’s what happened”
She stared at the both of them before getting off of her chair, a small flame igniting in front of her. “We haven’t got all day” she said, moving on forwards.

"When you try your best, but you don't succeed When you get what you want, but not what you need When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep Stuck in reverse…” She paused for a moment to take a breath, tugging at the chains that bound her. She didn’t know why she was here, but she didn’t deserve it. “And the tears come streaming down your face When you lose something you can't replace When you love someone, but it goes to waste Could it be worse?” Singing was all she had left, it was all she could do to remind herself she was still alive, even if alive wasn’t where she wanted to be.

A Sableye came out of the shadows and snatched at Jay, taking one of his red hoop earrings. The Zorua turned and snarled, “Hey! Give that back!” and the ghost only replied with a snicker.he began to run forwards, and Jay chased after him the best he could, the result being him actually going walking speed.
Blue and Red walked next to him, up until they stopped. Small piled of gold, jewels, money, and other valuable objects in small piled on the ground, the Sableye looking over the red hoop with interest as he sat atop one of the piles. “You! Give me that!” He barked. The Sableye looked up and over at the dark type, “Hm? Oh, this? Here, you can keep it, its worthless to me anyways” he said, tossing the earring back over to Jay. Blue caught it and helped him put it back on, but he was still pretty angry. “You’re another one of those siblings aren’t you?”
The Sableye chuckled, “We’ll aren’t you a smart one? The names Greed boyo, nice to meetcha.” He leaned over, looking down at the three of them. “You’re the ones who’ve been messing around down here, eh?” “Yeah, so?” the Sableye burst into a fit of laughter. He looked over at Red, “You’re the gal that got rid of Lust right? I’ve wanted to do that for years! I owe ya one kid, you really shut that pain in the a** up”
Blue looked up at him, “Wait a second…you’re not gonna give some kind of backstory or something like everyone else did?” he asked. “Now why the hell should I do that? That’s just pointless!” the Sableye burst into laughter once more. He looked over them all and thought for a moment before pulling a big apple out from behind him. “Ya know what? I like you guys, you kids are alright. Here, I stole this from you earlier, I’ll make an exception and give it back. Its worthless to me anyways, it’s got barely any monetary value and it’ll rot in a couple of weeks.” He tossed it down to them, and Red caught it in her mouth, “Gee, thanks Mr. Greed” “Don’t mention it kiddo. Seriously, don’t. I got a reputation to keep”
Blue was dumbfounded. “When did you…” he looked inside his back. Yup, their Big Apple was missing. “…huh.” He looked up, alright then all he had to do was put it back and…oh, too late, Red already ate it and it was now going into her bottomless pit of a stomach. Now that he thought about it, he was pretty hungry too. He took out two more apples, giving one to jay and just eating the other himself. Greed sat there and watched them, holding a gold coin between his fingers. “Enjoying yer lunch, fleshies? Get movin’, my place ain’t no place to stop and rest” he said, and they did as told and got up to leave. They still had something to do, afterall.

A Zubat flapped around blindly until it hit Reds face, “Get it offa meeee!” “Hold still…” “Ack! Careful!” Blue punched the Zubat in the back and it fell onto the floor, Red glaring down at it for a few more moments. “Keeeel eeeet” “I’m not gonna kill it” “…okay”
She poked it one more time before going off. Fine, she wouldn’t kill it.

Pain…so much pain…I can’t tell which one was worse, the pain of the raw flesh in my paw pads pressing down against the ground as they supported my body for a few seconds before another came in to take its job, or the throbbing headache it was all giving me. This is definitely one of the worst experiences ever.
The blood had long since dried, I’m sure, and I can feel it caked on my paws, in between my toes. It’s not a pleasant feeling. Theres all sorts of dirt and grime in the wounds, some chocolate from earlier, and I’m positive they’ll get infected if I don’t clean them out soon. Still, I keep going, only pure motivation driving me. Motivation for what, however, I have yet to find out.
Why didn’t I leave when I had the chance? I didn’t have to join the guilds, I didn’t even have to show up. I just wanted to meet an old friend and be on my way. Funny how plans change, huh?
I’m sure they’ll need me, though. They need a hard hitter. Red just isn’t the type to fight someone head-on unless provoked and Blue would rather use his speed and cunning. They need someone who will just stop thinking and start punching.
With every step I take my legs tremble, I’m sure I’ll collapse soon. But until then, I’ll keep going. I’ll keep fighting. I will push myself forward until there I can go no more. I, of all people, know I can. Then again, what’s the point? There’s nothing in it for me, all the rewards go to the team as a whole, and all I’m here for is to beat stuff up until I find some dumbass who “accidentally” evolved somewhere that’s a pain to reach. Honestly, I wonder if anyone would have taken this mission if we hadn’t.
Respect, I think that’s it. I might get some respect out of this. Or not. It depends on how this all ends, and I’d prefer it to finish with me and my comrades alive. Maybe severely hurt, considering how things have been going so far, but hopefully not dead.
Ack, I think something just got wedged in one of the bigger gashes. I should really invest in some shoes!

A huge bed covered their path, a Dusclops resting in it. He held an old magazine in one hand, and he took his attention away from it when the group walked in. “Y’know, I’m s’posed to beat you up, but I don’t feel like getting outta bed…” he grumbled. He put his hand up to yawn, “I’m Sloth…I used to be a Slaking, the rest is pretty much self explanatory” he stretched but did not get up, his gaze still over the trio.
“Yer disturbing my nap. Get out” he said, a shadow ball forming in his hand. He threw it at Blue, who blocked it with his left claw, his right hand falling down to his side. He’d been holding it for so long he didn’t notice when it had stopped hurting, but it’s a good thing he noticed now. Surely, though, if he used it too much it would get worse.
He made his own shadow ball, throwing it at the unmoving Sloth and hitting his side. The Dusclops slowly moved his hand to cover his side, “Ow…” he mumbled, punctuating that with a yawn. Blue rolled his eyes, “This one is too easy”. He opened his mouth and let out a sharp edged powder snow mixed with a fiery ember, coughing as he finished. Nope, he still wasn’t used to being able to spit ice, much less spit fire. Red looked over, a hint of concern in her eyes. “You okay?” she asked, and he nodded, paw still over his mouth. “Dandy, just follow up so we can get him out of our way” She nodded, turning around and sending a flamethrower at the Dusclops. Jay finally arrived, panting as he sat down. “Remember to add me into the mix!” he said, a wave of Punishment going out at the ghost.
Sloth gave a low yelp as he was hit, but said nothing as his eye slowly closed and he rolled over to his side. Team monochrome was now free to move onwards! And that they did, Red climbing over the ghost first followed by Blue and Jay who had the common sense to go around him. Red blew a raspberry at them, why go around what you can climb!

The Gardevoirs eyes shot open, “They’re halfway here” she stated. A voice from behind her, “Theres nothing to worry about, darling” she whipped her head around to face the charcoal black Rapidash behind her, “But there is. You know I’m not as strong as I used to be…” she looked down at her hands, “All this time that I’ve stayed here, everyone has gotten stronger, and I have only gotten weaker” She stood up from her chair, walking over to the Rapidash and wrapping her arms around his neck, the fire type making sure his mane wouldn’t burn her. “Admit it, I’m frail” “Not to me”
She smiled, kissing his cheek. “I’ll need to tell the others. While these three aren’t the strongest of the bunch, they’re powerful together.” She took a whistle from the table she had been sitting at prior and blew into it before putting it back down neatly. The Rapidash nudged her with his head, “They are of no danger to us” “You say that now, but if they get past Wrath we’ll have some trouble”
A Bisharp and a familiar Red and Black haired Glaceon walked in, they had been the only ones nearby. “Henrik, we have visitors. Please stand by your post and take care of them as soon as possible.” She said, and he nodded before walking away, sounds of his metal body shifting masking his own footsteps. “And YOU” she looked over at the smiling, oblivious Glaceon next to her. She closed her eyes cheerfully, putting her hand on his head and messing with his hair. “you go to your post as well, Spadey-boy.” She said, and he looked at her annoyed before giving a small laugh. “Alrighty Clara” he said, getting up and walking away.
Once he was out of earshot, the Rapidash next to her nudged her again. “He worries me” “What? He’s adorable!” She looked up at him questionably, and the Rapidash only kept looking forward. “Adorable my a**, he’s a psychopath. One of these days he’s going to slaughter us” she gave him a stern look, “Oh hush, he would never hurt us. I mean sure, there was that one time he tried to stab me, but he didn’t know any better!” “You seem to be forgetting last Valentine’s Day” “HE DIDN’T KNOW ANY BETTER!”
The Rapidash sighed. He was only looking out for his wife, not trying to pick a fight with her. At least they weren’t constantly trying to drive eachother insane.

A loud thud came from behind Red and Blue, and they bother turned around almost at the same time. Red was first to react, “Jay!” she shrieked, running over to him. His legs had giving in, his feet could hold him up no longer. He looked up at her, “I’m fine! Keep going!” he barked. She shook her head, “Not without you”
He dragged himself over to the wall, leaning up against it. “Just keep going, I’ll catch up to you later” “But-“ “I said go!” he yelled. She looked at him, ears flattened with mild fear. “I can’t just leave you here…” she said, and he shook his head. “Go finish the mission, come back for me later. I’ll be fine” this time his tone was more calm, but still commanding. She stared at him before nodding, “Fine…Fine…”
She turned away, “Let’s go, Blue…” she said softly, her partner looking back before doing as told, Jay watched them until they left, looking down at his feet. “…screw you, all four of you.” He growled. Sometimes he wished his real body had wings, and he didn’t have to use his own energy to turn into a bird.

“Whoaaa!” Blue, lookit this thing!” Red called out. She stared up at what appeared to be giant, human armor. Granted humans already seemed giant to her, so this fit into the category of “regular sized human stuff”. “Look! Look at it!”
Blue sighed, “Don’t touch that thing” he told her, “B-but it’s so cool…” she whined. He kept staring at her, “Just leave it alone” she ignored him, still looking up at the “armor”. “But it’s so biiiiiig!”
“He’s right, I don’t like being touched” a voice boomed from above. Red’s eyes widened in surprise as she stumbled back, ears down as her tails all fought for space between her legs. She stood in place, shaking like a rattle. Oh Arceus, she nearly peed herself! Blue couldn’t help himself, he broke out into a fit of laughter, “Your face was priceless!”
A golden glow began to pulse through the armor as it literally came to life, “I am Pride, as when I was made I was my creators own pride. His greatest masterpiece, a work of art!!! I am a proud and tall GOLURK!” he boomed. He struck a pose, “Cower before my greatness, commoners”
Blue looked at him skeptically, “A work of art? You’re actually kinda weird looking” he said. The Golurk looked down at him, shocked. If there was more light in here, his whole shadow would have been cast over the Sneasel. “Look at my amazingly chiseled features! My mighty, softly and delicately sculpted hands!” He held his hands out for them to see, “These hands have taken down beasts so big they could eat you up in a lick!”
Blue raised a brow, “I dunno, story sounds fake to me” “Fake?” “Yup. Besides, look, your body’s all weird looking. Your head is tiny compared to the rest, you’re wearing a MINI SKIRT, Your hands are bigger than needed, and YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A GENDER” The Golurk looked at them, wide-eyed. “I-it…ITS TRUUUUUE” he cried, turning around to face the wall. He sat down, holding his knees as he began to cry. “I’m hideous, HIDEOUS!” he sobbed.
Blue grabbed Reds collar, “C’mon lets get out of here before this place floods!” he said, pulling her along as he began to run. He didn’t know what kind of Pokemon he had just met, but he was glad it hadn’t stepped on him!”

Jay licked his paws as fast as he could, “Gotta get them clean as quickly as possible, gotta clean them up…” he mumbled. This is how those that lived in the wilderness cleaned wounds right? In the city you usually just went to a doctor or something. Damn, his paws tasted nasty!
A loud screech came out, and Jay stopped his licking in favor of looking up. A flapping of wings, it was so hard to see in the inky darkness…a creature stopped right in front of him, ah, it was just a Zubat. “Eh? What are you looking at?”
The Zubat tilted her head to the side, “I feel you but not see you…” from that tone she was obviously a girl. Jay flicked his ear, “I’m guessing that’s because you don’t have eyes” “Oh? Well look who’s the genius” she said with a hint of sarcasm. He rolled his eyes, “Waddya want?”
She looked at him, “You had to come in one way, and my colony wants to get out of here. You tell us how to get to the outside, and we will give you anything you want in exchange” His ears perked up, “Anything?” “Yes, we will be in great debt to you. My father is the leader, so in a sense I can pretty much hook you up. Think about it, unlimited favors” The Zorua got a twinkle in his eye. “You got yourself a deal”
She smiled, “Oh, thank you, thank you!” she said, clapping her wings together. She turned around and gave a loud screech, and in a few seconds the sound of an answering screech accompanied by the flapping of multiple wings filled the air. Multiple Zubat and Golbat, and even the occasional Crobat, began to land around him, and he could only watch in awe. “Oh my…”
A rather large Crobat walked up to the front, looking down at the much younger Zubat. “He agreed?” Yup” “Good” The Zubat looked up at Jay, “First, tell us where the exit is” she said. The Zorua blinked, “Oh, um…you got a paper and a pencil?” The Zubat thought for a moment before answering, “No, but we have a thin white bone and a black rock that leaves marks on stuff!” “…close enough”
She looked back, “Get him the thin bone and the rock, pronto!” She called out. A single Golbat began to fly away, of course to go get the items he had been asked for. Jay looked around at the whole colony, ‘Arceus, this is my whole Deus ex Machina here, my saving grace! It’s like there’s someone up there looking out for me or something!’

“I wonder how Jay’s doing” Red said aloud, a question not directed at anyone in particular. Blue looked down, “He’ll be fine. You know how he is” She looked up at him, “Yeah, but still…we left him alone, in the dark…”
Blue waved his paw, as if waving the subject off. “He should be fine, we already cleared the ghosts back there. Well, except for Greed, but he’s not really trying to kill us so I’m okay with that” he said. Red shook her head, “I’m just worried…”
Blue pet her head, “He-uh, he’ll be fine…” it was a kinda awkward situation, at least for him. She looked up at him, the look in her eyes almost made her look like an innocent little kid, full of not knowing. “Are you sure?” she asked, and he gave her a nod, “I’m positive.”
She looked down, “You, um…you promise?” she asked, staring at her paws. He blinked, “Promise?” “Yeah…um, promise he’ll be okay…” He looked at her, what had gotten into the Vulpix? Did she always get like this when someone was hurt and he just hadn’t noticed? “Yeah, I promise” Red smiled, “Thanks.” The Vulpix seemed to walk closer to him after that, keeping her pace steady to match his. He was like her safety blanket now, and he didn’t even know it.

She hummed to herself, having long since lost the lyrics to that particular song and only remembering the tune. Her brother looked over at her, lifting his weary head up to look at her. His eyes were tired, and it had been awhile since he had last spoken to her, and she had forgotten what his smile had looked like. His voice came out low, almost a whisper, but it didn’t matter. It was so quiet here you could hear a pin drop. “Did you hear that?” he said, and she turned to look at him. “Hm?” she had been humming to herself the whole time and hadn’t noticed anything until now. The older male looked down at the shackle clamped onto his ankle, “When Henrik walked by, he was talking to himself about some outsiders. This is our break here, our chance to escape!” he said, a bit of hope in his eye. “They can help us”
Her eyes widened, “Is that true?” “Why would I lie?” a small tear began forming in one of her eyes, “Freedom…I forgot what it feels like. But I want it” she held up one of her hands to the bars, if she had fingers she would have grabbed them. “Outsiders…they’re coming to-“her brother’s arm was around her mouth in an instant, cutting off her sentence. The sound of boned shifting and clacking against each other started to become closer and closer, the skeleton of an Arcanine walking right past them. It stopped, its head turning to look at the two. They stayed absolutely still as the two black holes where eyes would have been scanning them over stared at them before the beasts bones walked away. The older male lowered his mouth to his sisters ear, “We’ll keep this one to ourselves, don’t talk about it” she nodded and he slowly removed his arm from over her mouth. The two sat back down again, staring at eachother for a few more seconds.
She looked down, continuing to hum the same tune as before. She would wait until they came to free her, she had all the time she needed.

A loud laugh sounded throughout the hallway, and both Red and Blue paused where they were. They had been on edge, after all there was still one sin they hadn’t met…wrath. Oh, but they were about to.
Moments later, a Mismagius came into view, spinning himself in circles like a ferris wheel, going upside-down then right-side up then upside-down…he spun like this as he floated around, and as he approached Red and Blue he let out a shriek of excitement; “WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” The Mismagius crashed into one of the walls, “Owch…” he mumbled, floating back and shaking his head. He looked over at Red and Blue, “LOOK AT ME! I AM WRATH!” He called out, floating high into the air and puffing his chest out. “I WILL DESTROOOY YOOOU!”
Three shadow balls formed around him, shooting out towards them. The two jumped out of the way, the balls colliding with the floor instead. “Get him!” “Ya don’t have to tell me!” Red opened her mouth, a flamethrower coming out at the Mismagius. In one swift movement, however, the Mismagius had floated out of the way. “Missed me~” He chimed before shoothing a Shadow Ball at her, hitting her in the chest. The strength of the ball was enough to slide her back one or two inches, and she growled at the ghost. “He’s too fast”
Blue spat on the ground, “Not too fast for me!” he said, darting forward. White streaks began to cover him as he began to use the move only Jay had used so far, an Aerial Ace that was not only fast, it was painful. He jumped up, his face towards the Mismagius…and then he moved to the side. “AHGDHASDAHDF MOTHERFU-“ Blue crashed into the wall that had been to their side, sliding down until he reached the floor. “Blue! Are you okay?” Red asked. “HELL NO I’M NOT” the Sneasel responded, getting up. His fur had already begun to bristle, this guy…he had to be hittable! Blue began to form two small shadow balls on the tip of his claws, clapping his paws together so they joined each other and became one, big Shadow Ball. “Red, on three you aim for him” he said. She looked at him confused, “Just do it!” he called out.
This whole time when they tried to hit him, he always went to the same side. Well, if he predicted right, then this should land straight on...”One…two…THREE! NOW DANGIT, DO IT NOW!” Red let loose a flamethrower at the Mismagius, the ghost laughing as he floated over to the side. Before he could say anything though, the call of “Sucker!” followed by a sound similar to that of a baseball being thrown so fast you could hear it. The Mismagius turned around, only to be hit head-on with a Shadow Ball. He floated back until it dissolved a big grin on your face. “You’re kind of smart”
Blue growled, Red flicking her ear at him before letting out a flamethrower. Well, if it worked the first time why not the second…as Blue began to ready another Shadow Ball. He threw it just a few moments before he was supposed to go to the side, however Wrath had anticipated this; he flew upwards, letting the Blues Shadow Ball hit the roof and Reds flamethrower hit Blue. The Sneasels arms flew up, as if to protect him from the blow, but he got scorched none the less. When the flames died, he coughed, “Red, watch where you’re aiming” “S-sorry…”
The Mismagius began to laugh like a madman, His eyes beginning to glow. “Kneel before me now, fools, or fall before my power! AHHAHAHAHA!” He shouted. Blue ran over to Red, “I don’t like where this is going…”He told her before quickly running away. They were easy targets if they just stayed together.

- Floor 29 – The Mismagius kept laughing as an orange ball began to form in front of him. “HYPER BEAM! HYPER BEAM AAAAALL THE THINGS!” He shouted, an orange beam shooting out from the ball. He didn’t stop, however, and began to twirl around in his spot, the ball in front of him shooting beams in every which way. Red and Blue kept jumping and running around, trying to not get hit by the barrage of random beams. If they did, they’d be in for a world of hurt.
“He’s too strong!” Blue shouted out over to Red. She ducked down, a beam just narrowly missing her head. “Using Hyper beam like this though, he’s getting weaker by the second. You always need to recharge after you use that move, right?” She ran forward, another beam headed behind her. Oh Arceus, this was a suicide mission, they should have never done this. She stretched her wounded side out a bit too much and gave a loud cry before falling onto the ground, curling up into a ball as she softly whimpered to herself. She overstretched; she had felt it open up a little. It wasn’t pleasant.
“Red!” Blues turn for worry now. He ran over, dodging Wraths Hyper Beams until he got to her. He stood over her like a shield, “What are you doing! You’re going to get yourself killed!” Red called out, and he only smiled. “You would do the same for me.” She stared at him wide eyed, “I don’t need your help! I’m fine, just get out of the way!” she barked, but he only stayed where he was.
It didn’t take long. One beam was headed their way, “Blue, run!” He chose not to take his partners warning, the beam hitting his back. It was terrible; he could feel it ripping and tearing at his skin, eating away at his flesh. The pain was so intense, it felt like nothing he had ever experienced before, the worst kind of pain…it hurt so much, in fact, everything around him started to become blurry…
“Blue!” The voice was faint, but he recognized it from somewhere… “Arceus damn it Blue, look at me!” It seemed to get further and further away…his surrounding seemed to melt around him, until eventually everything just faded to black.
His body went limp as he fell on top of Red, his body over hers to keep her down. Not like she was going anywhere any time soon anyways. The Mismagius finally cooled down, “I feel lightheaded…” he said, floating down closer to the ground. Too many hyper beams…
It stayed silent for a little while, Red silently swearing in her head as she glared at the Resting Mismagius. All it would take is one more strike, he could kill them both if he wanted to. She was just waiting for her death now…’your such a pessimist’ she thought to herself, flicking her ear. She was not about to argue with her brain.
And then, out of nowhere, the sound of wings flapping, a loud “YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!” sounding throughout the hallways. What had to be the biggest cloud of Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat she had ever seen flew through the cave, a group strictly made of Golbat carrying a familiar Zorua, a feminine Zubat on his back. “Get him boys!” he yelled out. At that, the largest Crobat of them all flew forward, accompanied by maybe 15 Golbat. They swarmed Wrath, leeching off of him as they all attacked him furiously, the drained ghost unable to fight back.
The group of Golbat holding Jay flew closer down to Red and Blue, “Heeey guys! Look, I made some helpful new friends!” he said. Red looked up at him, “I’d usually ask, but you’re Jay, this doesn’t surprise me anymore. Think your friends can help take me and Blue here?” Jay clicked his tongue, Golbat going over and lifting the two up. Red looked around, eyes wide. “Whoawhoawhoawhoa, I’m flyyyying!” She said. Jay laughed, “Only for a little bit, Red.” She looked back at him, “And they don’t mind?” He shook his head, “They’re used to carrying stuff. Besides, when a lot of them help, its like everyone’s carrying nothing!” “Oh, cool!”
The feminine Zubat that had been perched atop Jays back flew forward, “We’ve bandaged your friends paws with what little cloth we had, but we don’t have enough for the Blue ones back…” Red looked over at the Golbat carrying the Sneasel, “Its…Its okay, we’re almost done here. I’ll get him some proper medical attention later…” she looked down at her own bandages, but she couldn’t use those now. They were probably dirty, and not enough.
The Zubat nodded, and she looked over at the Crobat still attacking wrath. “Alright, dad, lets go!” He nodded, getting in front of the whole cloud. “Everyone follow me!”
“I rode a group of Golbats through hell once”. Hah, no one would believe that one!

The colony slowed to a stop in front of a stairway down, an elegantly written sign pointing downwards. Beyond the rectangular hole where the stairs were was just an inky darkness, the white stairs almost glowing compared to it. The Golbat gently put Red and Jay down, and the Zorua turned into a Zebstrika upon touching the ground. The Golbat gently put Blue on his back, and he bowed his head as a thanks.
The female Zubat landed on Jays now long face, on his nose where he could see him. “Sorry, but this is as far as we go.” Jay nodded, “understandable. Anyways, just follow that map I drew you and you should be out of here in no time.” The Zubat gave the best bow she could, “We still owe you. If theres anything you ever need, contact us” she said. She went over to join her colony, “Alright everyone, now lets get a move on before someone closes that door!” The cloud began to move away, out of sight. Wherever they’d go, surely it would be far from here.
Jay looked down the stairs, “Well, we should get going. These are some pretty high stairs, especially considering we’re already underground and they’re going down. No wonder the client can’t get up…” well, that and Pupitar didn’t have legs. Red looked up at the sign that hung on the wall, it pointed down at the stairs…”Stairway to hell…” Red read aloud. She turned around to look at the stairs, “Well that seems pretty legit. Lets keep going, then”
Red was the first to go, with the steady beat of Jay’s bandaged hooves going afterwards. Every now and then he fixed Blues positioning on his back to the Sneasel wouldn’t fall off, even if the two didn’t like each other he seemed to make Red happy. If bringing him along would keep her happy, than he was more than okay with doing so. Belly: -- -

Complete darkness.
That was exactly what there was. Red lit a flame in front of her, but for some reason the light wasn’t enough. It didn’t take away from the darkness around them. It only gave them a little bit of comfort, knowing that it was there. This darkness wasn’t natural, they could tell, and it sent chills down their spins the longer they stayed in it. It was cold. Cruel. It was telling them to go away.
The glow of light in the distance, both their heads perked up. As they began to step into the faint light the darkness let go of them, it clung onto them before finally releasing its grip. A Bisharp stood in their path, a lantern in his hand as he looked over all of them. “…she wasn’t lying.” He mumbled, looking over them. They didn’t seem like they’d put up much of a fight though, with their condition it didn’t look like they should even be here.

He threw the lantern into the air, its door opening and exposing its flame. There was a hook above them, and the ring on top of the lantern slipped into it with ease. It sung around for a few moments before staying still, the hook going down with the weight of the lantern as if some sort of switch. Almost on cue the whole area lit up in a burst of flames, none of them touching Team Monochrome or the Bisharp. Some of the flames stayed behind, lighting up the area around them and ridding them of the darkness. “Are you all ready? Things are about to get hot in here”
He got into a defensive stance, he usually waited for his opponents to strike first. Red shook her head, “I’ve had enough of this!” why was there always something that wanted to pick a fight! Why couldn’t everyone help each other out and not try and cut each other’s throats! Her eyes began to glow red, her tails swinging back and forth in a hypnotic pattern as she looked into the Bisharps eyes. He tried to look away, but she only made her pull stronger. It turned into a battle of the mind, Red trying her hardest to use Hypnosis on him and get him to do his bidding, and he trying his best to look away, trying not to fall under her control.
They both stared at eachother for a few moments before the Bisharps eyes began to glow red as well, game and check. “You will do everything I say, when I say it” the Bisharp gave a nod, and she winced. “Name. Give me your name” He blinked before giving an answer. “Henrik” She kept an eye on him, making sure to keep the Hypnosis up. It was getting easier by the second, the more he stopped struggling the easier it was becoming for the both of them.
“Henrik…nice name. You look useful, come with me.” Not like he had an option anyways. Jay just stared, baffled. “That’s it? You could have done that this whole time, and you chose to do it now when we’re all worn out” she glared at him, “shut it, Fluffy. It’s harder than it looks, keeping him this long is a pain already. I want to see you try the same” she said, beginning to walk away. Henrik followed behind her like a robot, marching next to her as his steps began to follow hers. Jay looked at the two of them for a moment before following behind, he didn’t like this. They were messing with something much more powerful with them, it wasn’t safe.

“Get my money back, pay my bail. put me baby in the county jail…”
Reds ears flicked up, as did Jays. Was that singing? All the way down here?
“Do my time, lord, and I won’t tell. Everybody, everybody, goin’ to hell”
Yes, it was singing they were hearing. A beautiful female voice too, but why here? This wasn’t exactly the best place for karaoke. A sound like chains shifting, somehow going along with the music, followed by a loud bang. The beat to the song maybe? The instruments to go with it probably didn’t exist down here.
“Pick back my fat, Skin my bones Thirty-two teeth crack throwin’ stones. Call on Arceus, bring us home…”
They all stopped in front of what looked like a jail cell. In fact, the walls of this place were all jail cells. Two Roserade, one male and one female, sat in there with shackles on their ankles and a thick chain binding them together. The female, presumably the one who had been singing, looked up at them with hopeful eyes. “I ain’t done nothing but love…” she sang the last line in almost a whisper, her rose hands gripping the bars.
Red looked over them, shocked. The female Roserade began to get tears in her eyes, they really did come. Jay was the first to speak, “Why are you all here?” The female wiped away her tears, a smile on her face. “We’re paying for sins we didn’t commit” the male Roserade looked up at them with tired eyes. “Henrik…” he mumbled. Red looked up at the Bisharp, “What about him?” The male looked over him, eyes stopping at his waist. A ring with various keys on them clung to his side, “The keys…”
The Female Roserade reached out to grab them, and she was about to too. And then, the sound of shifting bones came from down the hall. She stopped in her tracks, retreating back into her prison. “Oh no…it’s the guard dog” she said. She looked down at Red, “Help us, please. We need you to stop it. The only reason we and what few others here are alive is because we don’t deserve to die yet, for what we have and haven’t done. We deserve freedom” she pleaded. Red gulped before nodding, looking down the hall. She began to hive Henrik commands, her eyes not losing their red glow as she took even more control. He stepped in front of all of them, taking a defensive stance.
The skeleton of an Arcanine came into the light to face them. It looked at them with an empty gaze before running forwards, charging at the Bisharp. Henrik stepped to the side, the skeleton shaking his head as he slowed to a stop. He swung a paw at the Bisharp, who was knocked down onto the ground by the force of the hit. He bounded right back up though, balling his hand up into a fist as he sent a bone shattering punch at the skull. A crack formed on the head, and the skeleton would have growled if he had vocal cords. His mouth opened, showing his still deadly teeth as he snapped at Henrik. The Bisharp began to punch at the skeleton, hitting the skull over and over again until it broke apart, the skeleton falling down with it. The Bisharp stood in his spot, taking deep breaths.
Red came over, looking at him in the eyes. “Open the cell” she commanded. He dragged his feet up to the cell, taking the keys off of his waist and unlocking the two Roserades cell and opening the door for them. She looked up at him, “Now…sleep” almost instantly his eyes closed as his body went limp. Red went over and took the keys from him, unlocking the shackles that bound the Roserade together. The female reached down to her ankle and rubbed it as soon as it was free, the male staying where he was seated. The female stood up, picking Red up in a hug so tight she could have crushed the Vulpix so badly she would have somehow turned inside-out. When she was finally put down she took a deep breath, “You’re welcome, I guess?”
Her brother slowly got up and looked over all of them. “My sister is…excitable. I am Carmine, and she is Serenata.” He was the taller of the two, his voice was rough as if he hadn’t spoken in ages. Serenata nodded as he spoke, “We can’t thank you enough, we’ve been trying to get out of here for a long time now. But…what brings you here?” no one came down here if they didn’t need to. Red looked down at her paws, “We’re a rescue team, on a mission right now. There was a Larvitar that evolved down here and we’re supposed to get him out…”
Serenata’s head perked up, “A Larvitar? We saw him pass by earlier, odd fellow. He came down here for…” She lightly bumped her head with her rose hands, “he was coming down for something, but I forgot. We’ll help you find him though, you can count on us!” She looked up at Carmine, who stared back before looking away. “…guess we do owe you something” Serenata smiled, “Anything we can do for you? Anything at all!”
Red looked up at Blue, his body thrown over Jays back. The Sneasels paw twitched, he was still conscious…just not exactly there. Like asleep, only he could hear everyone around him faintly. “Besides guiding us, we’re all pretty beat up. If you could-“ “But of course!” Serenata interrupted. She took the keys that had been used to free them, going over to one of the cells. She banged on the bars, “YO, JOY” someone grumbled from inside, “Waddya want” a deep voice asked from inside. She dangled the keys in front of the cell, “We’re busting outta here buddy, but I’ll need a favor~” she chimed. There was silence for a moment before the voice spoke up again, “Whatever it is, I’ll do it” Serenata clapped her rose hands together before putting one of the keys in the lock, swinging the door open.
A green eyed Audino stepped out, stretching his arms. “Finally! So cramped in there” he said. He looked over at Red, Jay, and Blue, “and these guys? Hell don’t take kindly to outsiders” Serenata rolled her eyes, “You said favor. Now fix them” Joy blinked going over to them. He put his hands on his hips, bending over as he seemed to inspect them. First he looked down at Reds bandaged wound, “Mhmm…” he walked over to Jay, inspecting the hooves, “Uh huh…” finally, he looked at Blue, “…oh”
He got up and clapped his paws together, “I only have enough energy left to heal one of you, but whoever is picked will be fully healed. I’ll let you decide” the Audino said, crossing his arms. Red looked up at Jay, “All of us are…” she didn’t finish her sentence, she wasn’t the best with decisions. Jay looked down at his hooves, then onto his back. He grabbed Blue, gently putting the Sneasel on the ground. “Him”
Red blinked, “You sure?” He nodded, “Yeah, I’m sure. Besides, he’s getting my fur all messy, and he’s heavy. Let him walk the rest of the way” Red smiled, going over and hugging his leg, “Thanks” Jay rolled his eyes, “yeah yeah, whatever” He began to shift back into a Zorua, “Just heal him already” The Audino waved a paw, “Don’t rush me kiddo”
The Audino lay Blue out on the ground so that his belly was on the ground while his back was out towards him. Red bit her lip, “Is this going to hurt? It looks like its going to hurt” Joy laughed, “no need to worry, this won’t hurt me one bit!” he said, rubbing his paws together. He slapped them onto the Sneasels raw flesh, a pulse of bright orange and pink light pulsing out and enveloping his back. Blue screamed, thrashing around under Joys paws. “What the heck man!” The Audino yawned, “What? Fixed yer back, didn’t I?”
Blue felt around his back, he had indeed fixed it. His skin and fur had grown back, and he felt much better now…well, he was standing now wasn’t he! Joy spat on his paws to clean them, “And that’s how it’s done folks!” he said, taking a bow as if he was a performer.
Red looked around at the other cells, she’d seen an arm reach out earlier. There were other pokemon down here, she could hear them. She looked up at Carmine, while Serenata was calm he seemed calmer right now as well as the smarter of the two. “Should we let everyone else out too?” she asked. He shook his head, “Some of the ones here aren’t exactly friendly. Moment you let them out they’d probably go right for your throat” He still sort of mumbled
Serenata clapped, “Let’s get going then!” she said. Carmine silently began to walk, and he turned back to look at the group. “Well?”
Red nodded, “C’mon Blue!” Blue looked down, “Well I guess…” Jay yawned, “You’re all so slow! Just move it already!” Joy looked at them all before shrugging, “Eh, I got nothing better to do. Besides, ya all did help me” Serenata clapped her hands, “That’s the spirit guys! I’m so happy, I could…I could…I could sing something!” she looked over at Carmine, “We should do a duet!” He glared at her, “no” Serenata frowned, “Well you coulda thought about it…”
And so, spirits high, the team and three other pokemon kept on walking, Serenata humming a tune for them all.

The Gardevoir rubbed his neck, good god she loved that soft black fur of his. Suddenly, she stopped, her eyes widening. The Rapidash looked up at her with concern, “Claramond?” She stayed completely still for a moment before shaking her head, “They’re almost here. They have three of the prisoners with them” she said. She climbed onto his back, holding onto his neck with her hand. “You ready?”
The Rapidash nodded, “I should be asking you that.” The Gardevoir couldn’t help but smile, “Oh hush” he was so cute when he worried! She rested her head on his neck, his mane going down so it didn’t hurt her. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“Ey, look, there they are!” a deep, male voice shouted, both the Gardevoir and the Rapidash looking up.

Joy had a hand on his hip as he looked at the two, “That’s Cheveyo and Claramond!” he said. Serenata put an arm in front of her, “That was quick…” she mumbled. Carmine stepped up to her side, “figures” of course they’d meet those two right after they left. Blue looked past the Rapidash, “Can’t we just, you know, go around them?”
Claramond shook her head, “We aren’t allowed to. Not even if we wanted to, and we want to” she said. Cheveyo looked up, “She’s right. You’ll have to take us down before you can keep going” the parts of his mane that weren’t touching Claramond flared and got larger. Red winced, “Why not!”
Claramond sighed, “I hate this story…” she said, rubbing the fur on Cheveyo’s neck (so soft!) as she spoke. “Look, a long time ago we made a stupid, stupid mistake. To start, we’re dead, okay? Or, we’re supposed to be dead anyways. Did some things we shouldn’t have done and…well, we’re not free unless we really die. Which is hard since our normal lifespan has been…extended” She looked down at her hands, “Look, I don’t want to talk about this. Let’s just…let’s just get this over with! Cheveyo!” The Rapidash stamped a hoof on the ground, “Yes dear!”
Serenata and Carmine looked at eachother, “They’ll light us on fire!” Serenata exclaimed. Carmine raised one of his bouquet hands, “What other choice do we have?” Joy looked down at Jay, “Ay, can you turn into a Zebstrika once more” “Yeah, but why wou-“ the Zorua looked at him before shaking his head, “Oh no, oh no no no!” he said. The Audino crossed his arms and gave him a stern look, and Jay sighed. “Fine, fine.” He said, his body glowing as he changed shape. The Audino then looked over at Carmine, “Would ya like to give it a try?” The Roserade shook his head, “No, you can go ahead” The Audino shrugged, getting ready to climb onto Jay. “Alrighty then…”
Cheveyo began to charge towards them, Claramond focusing her Psychic into her right hand. It coated her hand and went all the way back to her elbow, forming a pointed tip at the end. She held it at her side, ready to turn them all into kabobs. Serenata and Carmine dashed forwards, Serenatas right and Carmines left bouquet tips turned dark purple. They jumped to opposing sides as Cheveyo came towards them, Carmine hitting the Rapidash’s side and Serenata jabbing at Claramond. The Gardevoir gave a small yelp, but stayed silent and gripped Cheveyo’s fur harder.
The Rapidash kept going forward, despite the pain in his left side. His body became coated in flames as he charged towards Blue and Red. Blue formed two small balls on the tips of his now extended claws, clapping his paws together to merge them into one large Shadow Ball as he flung it upwards. It ricochet off the ceiling and went down towards Claramond, who lifted an arm up to block it though it did nothing to help. Red Opened her mouth and shot a Hydro Pump out at Cheveyo, putting out the flames that surrounded him and slowing down to a stop.
The Gardevoir hugged her Rapidash companions neck, “Theres too many of them, darling. They’re strong together” she whispered softly into his ear. He looked up at her, “Then we’ll just have to be stronger!” he replied. He stood up on his hind legs, Claramond had to hold on tight or she would have easily slid off, getting down on the ground with a thump as he looked over at Serenata and Carmine. Those two were the strongest, and also the weakest, they should go after them first. His hooves pounded against the ground in tune to his wife’s racing heart, the Gardevoir coating both her hands in Psychic as their end pointed, deadly lances literally at her fingertips. She aimed them at the siblings, who jumped up off the ground and into the air. “Ready Carmine?” “This isn’t going to end well…”

Petals began to shoot out from where the two were spinning, like a flowery tornado. Their edges were sharp and they seemed to all aim towards Cheveyo and Claramond. Cheveyo’s eyes widened, and he gently threw his rider off and onto the ground, standing in front of her like a shield. He didn’t care about the petals stinging at his sides, what mattered was the safety of the woman behind him.
An imaginary lightbulb appeared over Blue’s head, “That Gardevoirs his weak spot! Take her down and he’ll go down as well” Joy had just about finished getting settled on his new steed, “We’re getting right on it!” he called out. The Audino had his back straight, though Jay had the most embarrassed look he could give. “Charge forth, Cinnamon!” he declared. Jay snorted, “that’s not my name” he said through gritted teeth, but the Audino only yawned. “Just go”
Jay began to run forwards, head down ready to hit Cheveyo. Claramond was starting to get up, and it looked like they were going to run right past her. Joy grabbed onto Jay’s Zebstrika mane, jumping off the side while still holding onto his mane. He swung forward, foot out as he gave a Gardevoir a swift tiny foot to the face. He used the rest of his swing to get back up and onto Jay’s back, “…no lie, that was pretty neat” he said. Claramond was knocked right back down, “Clara!” Cheveyo shrieked before Jays head made contact with his side, causing him to move to the side and exposing both him and his wife to the ongoing barrage of Petal Dance, which looked almost as if trying to avoid Jay and Joy.
Cheveyo snorted. “No one hurts Clara!” he shouted. He began charging towards Serenata and Carmine, flames trailing behind him that quickly reached forwards and came over him like a cloak. Flames were left behind in a trail as they danced in the spots where he had stepped in, Cheveyo slamming into the siblings and ramming them into the wall. The petals stopped, and the two were left up against the wall, their front sides burnt by the Rapidash. It was obvious though that it hurt him aswell, and the recoil was painful though he was able to shake it off.
Claramond got up, wiping some blood from her face. That fragging hurt! A flamethrower was tossed her way, and she quickly found the source of it – a red tailed Vulpix glaring her way. She winced, picking her up with Psychic and bringing her over. “Forgive me for this one, but I have to…” she said, flinging the Vulpix over and onto one of the walls with high speed. Red was able to get up, the Gardevoir had hesitated. That was good, she wasn’t willing to do this. The Vulpix sent another Flamethrower, she was ending this dang it!
Meanwhile, Cheveyo was busy trying to get rid of Jay and Joy. He kept charging at the Zorua-turned-Zebstrika, who tried his best to dance out of the flames. Joy did the best he could in this situation, holding onto Jays mane for dear life. The Rapidash opened his mouth, a Flamethrower shooting out at the Audino. He was knocked off, and the Rapidash kicked him to the side with his hoof. That was three, about to be four. He slammed into Jay, knocking him into the wall and watching as he switched back into a Zorua. Dropping like flys, all of them.
Blue growled from where he stood. His comrades all fighting around him, and he barely did a thing to help. He just wanted to…to…to beat them up! His fur bristled as he looked at Cheveyo, “You think you can just light everything on fire and get away with it!” a dark light began to come out from him, and soon everyone, save for Serenata and Carmine, that was on his side was outlined in the same darkness. Red looked at herself, “Blue, whats going on, it feels weird!” He grabbed his head, “I don’t know, but I can’t stop myself!”
All their eyes seemed to turn blank before becoming filled with a dark look in them. Jay, Red, and Joy ran towards Cheveyo, Red biting one of his back legs while Joy and Jay brutally punched and kicked him. Blue ran up to Claramond, swinging his fist at her three times, the second time hitting her in the stomach. He didn’t want to hurt anyone this badly, Arceus knows he didn’t, but he just didn’t know what came over him. His vision was becoming hazy, and he could see his fist going forward to give the Psychic type another punch…
Everything went black. After that he could only remember a faint voice calling out to him, “Blue! Blue, you idiot, stop! You’ve got her, we beat them!” The Sneasel blinked, things had changed around him. For one, he was on the ground now, and a rather frightened and beat up Gardevoir was under him. His fist was in the air, ready to give her another blow. Cheveyo was on the ground, knees bent under him as he lay down, Jay and Joy at his side. The Rapidash’s eyes were pleading as he looked at the Sneasel, as if silently telling him to stop. Blue put a paw over his mouth, “I-I…”
He stood up and off of Claramond, “I’m sorry!” he told the Gardevoir. He helped her get up, and she wobbled from side to side, not quite balanced. “Its…its okay…its not your fault, you didn’t mean to…” she walked over to Cheveyo, sitting down by his side…well, it was more like collapsing really. “We’ll allow you to pass, you’ve shown us enough.” She was breathing heavily now, but there was still a smile on her face. “Tell Spade that I say…hi” she wrapped her arm around Cheveyo, resting her head on him. Blue nodded, “We’ll pass that on…”
He turned over to Red, “What just happened?” She shrugged, “I don’t remember a thing” Blue looked over at Jay, who shook his head. Well, whatever did happen wasn’t exactly pleasant, he hoped he would never have that happen again.
Blue walked over to the spot where Serenata and Carmine were slammed into the wall, their leaves were burnt but a faint green light was slowly beginning to pass over them and get rid of their burns. “We’ll be fine…” Carmine mumbled. Joy walked over, looking up at them. “Sorry kiddo, but I reckon I’ll stay here, keep watch over these two” Blue nodded, “I understand. Thank you, though, for helping us” The Audino waved his paw, “Yeah yeah, stop wastin’ time! Don’t ya’ll have some Pupitar or somethin’ to rescue?” Reds ears perked up, “Oh right! We gotta go, right now!” she grabbed Blue’s paw in her mouth, trotting away with him. Jay ran to catch up, the bandages around his paws coming undone as he did so though he didn’t mind much now that they felt better. “Hey, wait for me!” he called after them.

“Feel’s cold out here, doesn’t it?” Red looked over at Jay, who shivered “Yeah…like we’re in an ice cave or something” “I don’t feel anything~” “Shut it Blue” She glared at the dual type and he only gave her a grin. Felt good to be an ice type!

Ice shards were littered around on the floor and walls around them, and it began to get evem colder. Red, thankfully, had fire inside of her to keep her warm, and it really didn’t bother Blue. Jay wasn’t so lucky, and the Zorua found himself sticking close to his cousin for warmth. Red was annoyed, but she didn’t scold him considering she’d do the same.
Bloody pawprints were on the floor in front of them, leading the way forward. It was more than disturbing, but the team had to press forward regardless. With every step it took, it only seemed to get colder around them, the ice shards turning into crystals as frozen water covered the floor and the walls, leaving only a few spots peeking out.
A red Glaceon with golden eyes was looking at them, a big grin on his face. “This is what it looks like when hell freezes over~”

The Glaceon giggled a bit at the end of his comment, “Its true though!” He hit the ground with his paw, Ice rising out of the ground to block off the area behind the rescue team, no escape. “So…” His head went to his side, grabbing the hilt of his sword with his mouth. He dashed forward with amazing speed, stopping in front of Blue with the swords blade mere inches from the Sneasels throat. “Why are you here?”
Blue gulped, “We’re here to find a Pupitar” the Glaceon’s brow raised, “Pupitar? You wouldn’t mean that Larvitar fellow that passed by some time ago to retrieve…well, yeah, I know where he went” Blue let out a breath of relief, “So you’ll help us out” “…nope~”
He kept the sword held up, “Just because I know what you want doesn’t mean I’ll give it to you, silly boy!” He laughed as he spoke, letting the sword drop down so the blade was threatening the Sneasels heart instead. “Give me one reason I, Spade, shouldn’t kill you off right now” Blue looked down at Red for help, but she was frozen in place. “Spade? Oh! Because I have a message…yeah! A message for you! Claramond told me to tell you she says hi” The Glaceon dropped the sword, “Claramond? You know Claramond?” The Sneasel nodded, and Spade put the sword back in its sheath. “Man, you guys can have whatever you want! Sorry ‘bout the whole killing you thing, kinda my job. Well, not really. Follow me!” He said, walking forwards. Blue shrugged, alright then, why not follow the insane Glaceon that tried to kill him not even a minute ago?

Blue looked down at Spade as they walked, “So you’re not going to fight us?” The Glaceon skipped as he walked, “Nope! Unlike the others, I’m not a guard, so I don’t have to~ In fact, I get to come and leave as I please! I could leave right now if I wanted to, while the others are bound down here by their contracts” “Contracts?” The Glaceon nodded, “Yup!”
ell that was interesting. The more you know, right? “Its nice having someone new to talk to, you guys are pretty cool. Made it all the way here too, I’m impressed.” He looked forward, “She’s nice, but so naggy! Its always ‘Spade, don’t touch that, you’ll piss Henrik off’ or ‘Spade, don’t do that, you’re gonna get us all killed!” He used an annoying higher pitched voice as he imitated her, “I should really leave for a vacation or something. But then I’d need a place to stay in…”
He ran smack into the ice wall he had put up earlier, “Oh? Whoops, guess we’re lost” Red looked at him, dumbstruck. “You just lead us in a full circle…” Spade turned and grinned, “That happens a lot, I’m directionally challenged you see” Reds eye twitched. That…that was a waste of time. “Augh, screw this, we’ll find him ourselves! Come on Blue!” she said, storming away. Blue looked over at Spade, “Thanks for trying at least…” He mumbled. The Glaceon nodded, and as the trio walked away he stood on his hind legs and waved goodbye, “Come back soon!”

“Watch out!” a voice called out towards Red. She turned, only to be met with a Pupitar slamming into her. She fell down, jumping back onto her paws as she watched the Pupitar slam into the wall. “Hey, that freaking hurt!” she yelled at him. Blue gave her a light tap on the shoulder, “stop yelling at the client”
The Pupitar fell onto his back, “Sorry about that, I’m not used to this air-jet stuff…” Jay yawned, going over and putting a paw on him. “Alright, that’s fine and all, blah blah, formalities…okay, just do that thing with the badge and get us out of here quick!” he said. Blue reached over to Reds collar, unpinning the teams badge from inside of it and holding it in his hand. “Okay, let me see if I can get this right…”
He held the badge up over his head, a light enveloping all of his teammates and the Pupitar as they were teleported back to the guilds. All’s well ends well, right?

The Team would return to the Guild without further incident, a welcome relief after all that they'd been through that day. Their Pupitar client thanked them amiably when they arrived before heading back, promising to return the next day with their rewards. When he departed, Team Monochrome was left to return to their Team Room, nurse their wounds, and get a good night's rest. A trip to Hell could be quite a trying experience after all, as they had certainly learned that day.
The next morning the Pupitar returned, as promised, a bag of rewards with him that he had mysteriously managed to put in a bag and bring with him although he had no arms with which to do such tasks. His arrival was announced by one loud knock on the door followed by a groan which explained what had happened. "Thanks for that again," he said to them when they had let him inside, "Evolving at the most inconvenient of times, seriously what's up with that? Pupitar and stairs don't go together at all." He continued grumbling to himself, glaring down at the ground for a few moments, seeming to have forgotten what he was there to do. After a moment the Pupitar came to his senses once more and looked back at the Team sheepishly. "Ah, right," he said with an awkward cough, "Your rewards are there."
When they looked inside the bag, Team Monochrome would find several items of interest. On the top lay a Destiny Bond TM gleaming brightly and yet somewhat ominously. Below was an orb that seemed to suck all the brightness out of the area around it, a Dusk Globe to be specific, and beside it was a pile of gold which would amount to 12,000 PD when it was counted. The Pupitar gave what could best be described as a smile although he didn't have a mouth. "I really am grateful to you all," he said, "If it weren't for you guys who knows what could have happened down there." He paused for a brief instant, seeming to ponder something before continuing. "So, hey, I know it's sudden and all but do you think I could join your Team?" he asked, "You guys did save my life after all, and I don't really have any place else to go, so what do say?"
As the Pupitar waited for his answer, the sound of humming was heard from the door, along with a light knock. A familiar Roserade stood there, though notedly without her brother or their Audino friend.
"...If you never try you'll never know, just what you're worth. Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones And I will try..." The last notes of the song receded into a hum and she looked at the others with a smile. "It seems you found your Pupitar then. That's nice." She daintily made her way over to them with a smile. "My brother sends his regards, I thought I'd check up on you all now that we've all gotten out of that god forsaken place."
"You're darn right we did," came the familiar rough voice of a certain Audino who came in after Serenata, "Sera you move too fast." Joy looked slightly hassled and out of breath as though he'd been running to keep up. Recovering his breath after a few more moments, the Audino nodded to the goup. "Howdy," he said in greeting, "Did Sera tell you why we're here yet, or did she forget that part?"
Serenata looked at the Audino indignantly, rolling her eyes. "I was getting to that part Joy," she said before turning back to Team Monochrome with a smile, "I was wondering if you'd let me join your Team, as was Joy."
Even as she concluded, yet another familiar figure wandered into the room, not even bothering to knock. One mentally disturbed Glaceon meandered inside, his eyes taking in the sights of the Team Room with delight. "Oh hello~" he said brightly when he spotted the Team, "I found you a lot faster than I found Cedric!" He wagged his tail happily with a smile, "Turns out that when I went back to look for everyone, they all were gone, vanished, just like that!" he said, tossing his sword into the wall to punctuate the last point. It made a singing noise and brought a rather shocked look to Joy's face as it had only just missed hitting the Audino. "Anyway, since I'm out of the job, can I hang out with you guys? You seemed so nice~"

Sorry that I didn't get around to putting these up for so long, truth be told I read through this whole mission the day you first put it up in the To Be Graded section. ^ ^;; Anyway, I loved what you did with this mission, so many great ideas put into one; the Seven Deadly Sins and the mysterious quest that the Pupitar was on along with all the other characters like Spade and that Misdreavus toward the beginning. Your character development was good too, especially with Jay. I had a great time reading it despite the length, and, as a side note, I loved the drawing you made to go with it. ^ ^ Keep up the good work~))

TEAM MONOCHROME
The first thing seen when opening the door? An angry Zorua that had been forced to wear booties. Or were they actual shoes? It was hard to tell, but Jay was more than annoyed by how uncomfortable they were.
He took the money and wal- well, he lifted his legs high up in the air and sort of toppled away. The one who actually helped the Pupitar inside was Blue, and he listened intently as he spoke.
The other knock was answered by Vertigo, who was trying to imitate Blue the best she could. "Mommy, there is a nice lady here for you!" she called out. Blue waved, "its nice to see you again, Serenata. I guess all went well, all injuries healed?" Before she had time to answer, Joy had already arrived.
They already had a good idea of who they should take in. But once again, someone else came in for them, and this time...oh Arceus, Spade. Red got up off of thew couch, "We should let him stay, he looks like-" Blue glared at her, "We'll be dead in a week"
The Sneasel stood up, "If I could, I would take all of you...unfortunately we can only take one..." he walked over to Serenata, "I think it would be best for you if you went back to Carmine. He needs you, and I'm sure you need him." He said. The Roserade was going to object, but she only nodded and left. Blue then walked over to Spade, "And you...maybe another time?" he certainly was interesting, but he would rather have teammates who were at least halfway there.
"So then, Joy, that means you-" "Yeah, I know" The Audino was already getting seated on the couch, Vertigo getting up next to him. He pat the scraggy on the head with one of his paws, "Thanks, I don't know what I woulda done elsewhere. Sera an' Carmine already got an offerin' to sing at some place or another, and I'll be damned if I become a nurse" He was not about to fall into a stereotype. Ah, he was going to fit in here quite nicely... "Y'all call my Joey from now on, makes alotta more sense" he added, stretching his feet out.
[[ Thank you! There was actually some parts that were cut out because of the length, so I was just hoping there weren't some parts that seemed weird, like something was missing. Thank you for grading it! ]]

Client: Azurill Mission: "I want to pay my respects to my mother, but it's so scary inside that place. Will you come with me?" Dungeon: The Graveyard Floors: 20 Rewards: Night Slash TM + ??? (My team has this) Under Construction Mission One
F l o o r 1 After entering the rusted gates of the ‘Graveyard’ the team of two found themselves face to face with a small Azurill. It seemed rather frail and useless compared to the intelligence of Kalia or the aggression of Marona but regardless of its size, it was now a part of ‘Team Snelheid,’ even if it was just for this mission.
“I go by Kalia, and you are…?” Kalia, a small Natu with a rather tiny exterior, hopped to the Azurill who seemed just about ready to burst with anxiety. “C-Cody.” The Azurill turned his gaze to the gravel road which led deeper into the unforgiving graveyard. “Well ain’t that original!” Kalia, after mocking the Azurill’s name, turned back to Marona who was folding her arms and gazing at a couple tomb-stones. “We’ve got to get this done before night-fall. If we wait we’re sure as heck going to be chasing this little guy as he runs from the entirety of ghost Pokemon.”
Marona walked slowly down the gravel road, allowing the rocks and dirt to crunch beneath her feet. As she did so, Cody followed close behind while Kalia brought up the rear. The strategy was to protect Cody from frontal and back-attacks though they both knew that the biggest liability in any of their battles here would be to keep Cody from throwing himself in any danger. He seemed to stagger when he walked, as though he were too concerned with the tombstones around him to notice if he was coming up on a turn or something. F l o o r 2 Once the Pokemon were far enough into the graveyard, it dawned on Kalia that they would be traversing through the catacombs of the graveyard. Kalia’s mother had visited the catacombs all the time when Kalia was a child because her grandmother was stored there. She knew that the further you were in the grave-yard, the more important you were when you were alive because even hooligans wouldn’t dare tamper with the catacombs.
“Your mother’s in the catacombs eh? Wouldn’t imagine that looking at you.” Kalia smirked as she down-graded who Cody was as a person. “Enough Kalia. Act your age.” Though Marona wasn’t one to get involved in other Pokemon’s affairs, she didn’t allow for others to pick on weaker Pokemon. She couldn’t stand bullies and right now, to her, that’s just what Kalia was being. “Oh come on Marona! That’s my way of asking what Cody’s mother did durin’ her living!” Cody soon understood what was up and decided to break his silence with an answer, “My mother was a captain of a cruise ship. She wasn’t the most well-known figure in all of history but before she died she purchased a place in the catacombs, next to her dad.” Kalia smiled and placed a wing on Cody’s back, almost to assure him that he was being protected. “We’ll make sure ya’ get to see your mother, ain’t that right Marona?”
Marona, instead of giving an answer, nodded accordingly. F l o o r 3 As Cody let out a simple sigh of relief, a rather sinister Spinarak threw itself
from a weeping willow to the gravel road below right in front of Marona. “HISS! HISS!” The Spinarak attempted to hiss at the three Pokemon, most probably in an attempt to scare them away, though it only seemed to work on Cody, seeing as how Kalia was trying to force him to stay put. This left Marona to deal with this battle. “Cody, hold still!” “No! We have to go! It’s going to eat me!” Cody struggled until eventually, Kalia used her psychic attack to pick him up and keep him motionless in the air. “Looks like you’re in charge of this battle Marona, I’ve got my wings full at the moment.” Marona let out a sigh but it seemed all to obvious that this couldn’t be helped. “Spinarak, move.” Marona folded her arms and pointed her painting tail at Spinarak as though it were about to shoot a laser from it. “Is your tail supposed to scare me!? AH-HA-HA-HA!” Spinarak laughed a miserable laugh but soon turned the laugh into a poison sting which he shot at Marona. “Idiot.” Marona unfolded her arms and as she did, her painted tail turned a violet color and stopped all the poison needles in mid-air. “The thing about Smeargle’s is that you don’t know what they possess so you’d better watch out. Psychic!”
Instantly, all the needles that were coming towards Marona were reversed and instead, were launched towards Spinarak. The needles collided, knocking out the Spinarak in that instance.
“Ha! Looks like he couldn’t handle his own medicine.” Kalia placed Cody on the ground, who instead of running away, apologized for his actions, though both Kalia and Marona weren’t too surprised with how he acted. “Don’t apologize, just don’t do it again. We can’t keep trying to save you from Pokemon if you want to run and lose sight of us.”
F l o o r 4 As the day grew into a faded darkness that was only lit by the remnants of the sun, all three knew that once the sun was out completely, they would be engulfed in complete, utter darkness of which only Kalia could see in due to her exceptional psychic powers.
“W-Will we make it to the catacombs by night time?” Cody, now standing closer than ever to Kalia, peered towards Marona, as though she might know more than Kalia about the situation. “I don’t know. If not, we continue what we’re doing now, one foot in front of the other.”
Kalia let out a soft sigh of disappointment for the poor Azurill who she could feel the shaking of since he was so close to her. She didn’t really like to feel sympathetic for others but she couldn’t control how she felt all the time.
“You’re going to be fine. Stick with us and you won’t need to do a thing except walk alright?” Cody nodded to Kalia’s comforting yet demanding statement and continued just as she said, walking. “We’re almost half-way to the catacombs. We should be there before the night falls unless of course some Pokemon rears its ugly head.” Marona folded her arms and allowed her tail to fall closer to the ground, as though she were letting her guard down a bit now that the sun was down. “Dropping your tail eh? Do you feel like nothing will attack us?” Kalia snickered and pointed towards the left with her wing, “Something’s following us but I can’t see it.” At this statement, both Marona and Kalia stopped, Cody however kept walking for a couple more steps until her realized that they had both stopped.
“What do you suppose is following us?” Marona gritted her teeth, a bit disappointed with the fact that she was unable to detect any sort of presence around her. “It’s a ghost-Pokemon. Not sure which one though. Best we keep walking since it hasn’t threatened us yet eh?” Cody shook his body violently, as though to stop them. “Y-You’re just going to let it follow us!? What if it’s waiting for the right moment to attack and kill us?” “I’m a normal type, and so are you, meaning if it chose to attack, it’d probably attack Kalia first since she’s weak to his skills.” Marona turned towards Cody and continued, “If you’re scared of being attacked while standing next to Kalia, move closer to me and Kalia can fly a ways behind us.”
Cody turned to Kalia as though to ask if that was okay, and in return, Kalia nodded.
“Cody do as she says, don’t want to get on her bad side.” Kalia chuckled and allowed Cody and Marona to walk ahead a bit so that she was far enough that if the ghost Pokemon chose to attack Kalia, the other two Pokemon wouldn’t get hurt in the ambush.
F l o o r 5 As the three headed onwards into the darkness of the fog ridden graveyard, Cody grew more anxious knowing that there was a ghost Pokémon that was following them. What made him more nervous though was the fact that the remnants of the sun were depleting faster than he expected.
“We’re not going to make it to the catacombs are we?” Cody brushed himself up against Marona to make sure that he didn’t lose track of her, which caused her to move in an opposite direction so that she could get away from him. “Don’t touch me while we’re walking. I know where you are. I can still see. If you go off too far by yourself I’ll call for you to come back to me.” With that, Marona folded her arms and continued to transverse through the graveyard.
Sure, Marona could be cold-hearted at times but she truly felt it was for the best if Cody ever intended to grow up. If anything, he’d need to learn how to take care of himself.
“I see we ain’t beein’ nice to the poor kid now are we,” Kalia yelled from a distance. She was travelling further from Cody and Marona for concern that the ghost type Pokémon that was following them might try an attack on her first since she was the only Pokémon travelling that wasn’t normal type. “It didn’t say be nice in the description. We just need to make sure he gets there safely.” Though she didn’t want to admit it, Marona enjoyed the idea of trying to keep such a worrywart safe since it seemed as though it could be quite the challenge. “True, but I’d like to get that extra mile now.” Kalia continued her low-flying while keeping an eye out at the mysterious figure that was following them. It was obvious that it had no idea it was already discovered, otherwise it would’ve attacked.
Still, Kalia was getting a bit agitated with the whole idea of pretending it wasn’t there. She was getting tired with waiting for it to attack but if it didn’t plan on attacking, calling out the ghost would be rather rude.
F l o o r 6 As Kalia’s mind strayed to other things besides the Pokemon that was following her, it leapt out to reveal itself as a Misdreavous.
“Ha-Ha-Ha! You fools has no idea I was fulling you! Now prepare for your worst nightmare!” Misdreavous formed a Shadow-Ball in front of her and just as expected, she launched it at Kalia. “Look out!” Cody threw himself at Marona as a means to keep himself safe and secure. “Not quite the toughest Shadow Ball now is it!” Kalia flapped her wings violently, forming an Air Cutter attack which shredded the menacing sphere to pieces and also knocked Misdreavous to the ground. “Way to go!” Marona placed her hand on Cody’s Shoulder as a means to keep him from getting too carried away.
“Oh what this? This ain’t nothin’! I’ve fought tougher opponents in my day.” The Misdreavous floated back into the air and let out a shrill laugh before launching another Shadow Ball, except this time, she turned and launched it at Marona. “Idiot.” Marona stood in place and allowed the shadow ball to collide with her. Though it didn’t do anything at all except go right through her and crash into the ground. “You cheater! You’re a normal type Pokemon! Don’t get involved.” Misdreavous then turned her sights back to Kalia and launched a disable attack forcing Kalia’s wings to stay clipped to her side.
“I’m not just a flying type you know. Psychic!” Kalia’s eyes glowed a bright blue color and as they did, the whole body of the Misdreavous glowed the same color. “Goodbye mate!” With that, Kalia quickly dropped her head, forcing the Misdreavous to be slammed quite viciously into the ground. “Good, now let’s go.” “Already?! But we need to make sure Kalia is okay.” Cody turned back to Kalia whose eyes were reverting back to normal as the motionless Misdreavous lay before her. “I’m fine. Believe me, I wouldn’t go down so easily.” After Kalia made that statement, she hopped ahead while making sure that Cody stayed in front of her.
F l o o r 7 After that rather startling incident involving a Misdreavous, Cody wasn’t taking any chances. He hid with the best of his ability under the tail of Marona, who seemed all too reluctant to all him to do so.
“Get out from under my tail. I told you you’d be fine and you’ve yet to get injured so why must you act so complicated?” Marona let out a sigh and stopped in her tracks causing Cody to walk right into her. “O-Ow! Sorry. I said I was scared didn’t I? I even think I said something about it in the mission request.” “How am I supposed to remember what that thing said. All I know is the end is near the middle of the catacombs.” Marona turned to Kalia, who simply nodded as though she was given a queue to do something. “ ‘I want to pay my respects to my mother, but it's so scary inside that place. Will you come with me?’ That’s what the note said, if I do remember correctly.” Kalia scratched her head with her wing and tilted her whole body so that she was staring up at the fading sky. “How did you remember that?!” Cody turned to Kalia in astonishment, as though she were one of those knowledgeable scholars who knew too much. “What that? It was nothing. I never have a hard time with remembering things if there of slight relevance to me.” Kalia turned her body back to the gravel path, which happened to be fading into patches of grass.
It was obvious they were pretty far into the graveyard since the path they were still walking on seemed to be less treaded than normal.
“Let’s keep moving, as for you Cody, go back to Kalia. Nothing’s following her now so you should be fine.” Cody let out a disappointed sigh but resigned to his position next to Kalia who simply stared at him with a questionable expression. “Ready to go?” Cody nodded and the three headed off, deeper into the unforgiving territory.
F l o o r 8 There wasn’t much to be seen with the scenery at this point. All the tombstones seemed to be less creative then the last until eventually they were just slabs of cement saying ‘here lies so & so,’ pokemon that were forgotten in the changing times. Though Kalia was finding it all rather interesting for she was playing a game in her head to find the Pokemon that died first. So far, her record was 1874 which is quite a ways back in time. However, her game was interrupted with the shivering of Cody.
“I-It’s cold. How long until we get to the catacombs?” “Not long. We’re more than half-way there. We should be there in just a few more minutes.” Kalia went back to her game of observing the tombstones, seeing as how there wasn’t much else for her to do and she didn’t have to watch her step since she was just gliding off the ground. “We’re been at this awhile, right Marona?”
Marona snickered and remained silent. She could tell Cody was just trying to make small talk with her. After all, it was obvious that they’d been walking for a while now. The last thing Marona wanted was a reminder about how long they’d been out here.
After deciding that he wasn’t going to get an answer from Marona, Cody turned his attention back to Kalia and tried to make heads or tails of why she was looking at the tombstones. “What’cha doing Kalia?” Cody smiled cautiously because he knew that Kalia would be more inclined to give him an answer than Marona. “Well I’m looking at tombstones. There’s nothing else to be done until we get to our destination, so why not just enjoy what we’re given.” Kalia returned her gaze to the tombstones, ignoring Cody again. She could tell she was acting out of nature with Cody, but she couldn’t help but feel extremely patient with him since Marona wasn’t showing any signs of kindness. “I guess. I’m sort of hoping that we get there soon though! The catacombs are lit by torches hanging from the wall so I’d imagine it’d be warm as well.” Cody closed his eyes and imagined the warm air caress his body. It was dead cold outside and the air almost seemed stagnant almost as if no other Pokemon had been here in quite some time. “Yes, that will be nice. I imagine we’ll be closer to the dead Pokemon as well. Since their bodies fill the walls.”
Cody shuddered a little thinking of his mother’s still body in the wall he’d soon be gazing at.
F l o o r 9 The Pokémon could actually make out the faded light coming from the distance, most probably symbolizing the catacombs. “Do you guys see that?! It’s the catacombs!” Cody leapt in sheer excitement while the other Pokémon resigned to the misfortunate mission they were given. “It sure is. Though be careful there’s a Pokémon following us okay?”
Cody swiftly turned around to look behind them and see if there was another Pokemon following them and sure enough, it was a small Houndour that was trying to catch up with them. “Wait! You’re going to get killed inside those catacombs,” it yelled from a distance. Though it wasn’t enough to scare Kalia or Marona, they both knew that it’d probably scare the life out of Cody. “Ignore him Cody. He doesn’t know what he’s saying. He’s probably just another Pokemon trying to kill us.” Kalia nodded to this statement and added, “Yes, what could possibly in the catacombs that would stop us.” Cody shrugged but still remained hesitant in place, allowing the Houndour to catch up.
Once it was caught up to them, it let out a sigh of relief and continued what he was saying. “There’s a Chandelure in there that’s burning up corpses in there! Other Pokemon have tried to stop it but it’s no use! If you go in there you’ll die!” The Houndour panted heavily and let his head drop so that he could catch his breath. “You don’t know us. We can handle more than your lot can.” Marona gazed out into the darkness and saw another Houndour approaching them. “Brother, what are you doing? They’re strangers to our land. Allow them to go inside.” A rather curvy Houndour approached from the shadows and revealed herself. She looked much different from other Houndours. For starters, she had a veil covering her snout and a diamond shaped pendant on her fore-head. “They’d die though!” “Have faith in those that you do not know.”
As the sibilings argued about what should be done, Marona decided to go on ahead, the plan she’d had from the beginning. Once the male sibiling caught that Marona was still going forward, he leapt in her way, forcing her to stop in her tracks.
“You get out of my way.” Without a second thought, the brother leapt at Marona with fangs bared as though he were going to bite her neck off. “Brother no!” Just as he was about to bite Marona’s neck, Marona slapped him silly with a ‘tail slap’ attack causing him to retreat into the shadows. As though it weren’t obvious enough, Cody was more reluctant than ever. “What’s going on?!” “Please forgive my brother. He means well but has an impatient demeanor that he carries. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Rafae. I’m the soon to be inheritor of our turf, which is why I where these foolish ritual items.” “Your what?” “Our turf. You see, the graveyard is broken down into different parts, such as the Spinarak’s portion, Misdreavous’s portion, and ours, the Houndour. You needn’t worry yourself with it. Now, I know that you’ve got some errands to be ran inside the catacombs correct?” Marona, instead of answering, walked onwards into the direction of the catacombs, making it obvious she had no intention of making small talk. “Y-Yes we do. This Azurill, Cody, would like to see his mother’s grave.” “May I come with you? I know it is foolish to make a request, me being an inheritor and all, but I must stop this Chandelure for the sake of my family and ancestors within the catacombs.”
It was noble indeed in Kalia’s eyes, but she wasn’t the one who got to call the shots, this was Marona’s job. “If you’re coming with us, don’t expect special treatment of any kind. Any signs of betrayel and we’ll make sure the Chandelure eats your soul understood?” Rafae swallowed hard but showed her compliance with the rules. “Good, everyone let’s go.” With that, the four Pokemon headed towards the catacombs, which seemed more and more ominous every minute.
F l o o r 10 The four Pokémon stared upwards at the ominous entrance to the catacombs. They seemed unforgiving and almost unpredictable, as though it were going to collapse any moment.
“The catacombs were built long before the graveyard was made. They say the graves circle the catacombs because deep within the catacombs lies the un-resting souls of the dead. So in a way, the graves are the catacombs guardians.” Rafae shrugged, as though her words weren’t golden. “Creepy! I’m glad you’re coming with us, you know a lot more about this place that any of us do.” Cody smiled brightly and instead of standing closely to Kalia, like he had been, he was now standing next to Rafae. “Aw, thank you. I’m no scholar though. Our elders told us hundreds of stories about the catacombs and the graves that surround it.” “As we travel, I’d love to learn more.” Kalia smiled happily. She detected no hostility coming from Rafae which was always a good thing since this girl seemed too kind to harm. “I’m sure I’ll have more stories for you soon, but maybe we should head inside. Misdreavous like to pull pranks on Pokémon that are still inside the graveyard when night falls.”
The four Pokémon headed inside to the top floor of the catacombs. Sure enough, the walls were littered with spider-webs and torches that lit the path.
“Are we going to come by any b-burning corpses?” “No. My brother over exaggerates everything. The Chandelure is looking for souls in here to devour and let burn for eternity within him. That’s all.” Rafae walked onwards, leading the way deeper into the catacombs. I know this place like the back of my pawn. Though before we go any further, be sure you eat something. The catacombs can become a maze if not walked properly.”
Marona pulled an apple from her messenger back and split it in threes, leaving Rafae from eating any.
“Sorry but us three come first.” “Now that’s cool. I understand. After all, I just met you all and I’ve already eaten.” Rafae sat down and waited patiently for the Pokemon to finish eating before heading onwards.
F l o o r 11 The four Pokémon were as vigilant as ever when traversing through the ominous catacombs. The lights were dim and everything seemed to be faded, as though the darkness were overpowering the torches strewn across the walls. Even Rafae seemed reluctant when leading the way, as though her word of travelling through them countless times was less accurate than she had said.
“You seem hesitant. Everything is fine I presume?”
Rafae, after hearing the comment made by Kalia, nodded in response. She knew the way, but she was nervous about seeing any ghost Pokémon, but more importantly, nervous about seeing the Chandelure.
“Good then, very well.” “Yeah, I’m just worried for encountering ghost Pokemon. You see, the only Pokemon that live in the catacombs are Zubat and ghost Pokemon.” “Remember, I’m not protecting you. I’ve already got to deal with this whiny Azurill.” “Hey! That’s not very nice!”
Instead of responding to that statement, everyone walked in a quiet manner. None of them had the energy to defend Cody or prove why Marona was right. However, their silence was short lived when they came to a cross-road that Rafae didn’t seem all too confident about.
“Er, I believe we should go left from here. Don’t quote me on that though.” “Seriously? You’re lost?” “If it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t have even got this far so you should be more generous with your ‘thanks.’”
Marona rolled her eyes and folded her arms. She then turned to Kalia whose eyes were glowing brightly.
“I’m attempting to sense life within the catacombs.” “B-But I thought Rafae said everything in here was ghost Pokemon-“ “-and Zubat. I sense a Zubat to the left so perhaps you were telling the truth about where we’re going Rafae.”
Rafae let out a sigh of relief and the Pokemon headed deeper into the catacombs.
