SRP between two of my lions.
The day had been bright and sunny but now, the clouds were starting to roll in. Velius looked up at the sky and blinked a few times. With the heat slowly leaving, it was now time to leave his spot from underneath the shade and continue on his journey. He was quiet as he wandered, having met so many different any unique lions, that he was pretty content with everything. His last stop had been to the ocean, and what a sight that was. He would have to remember to go back and visit the ocean again sometime. There was nothing like it out here in the grasslands, that is for sure.
It had been a hard choice for the green male. Siltim didn’t want to do it, but he knew staying there in his home pride would just bring back too many memories. His parents had passed on not too long ago, and his mate had just vanished one day out of the blue. The once playful lion was rather lonely and sadden by this decision, but he needed to do it. He needed change in his life, to get past the bittersweet memories. And he knew, that his parents wouldn’t want him to just sulk and live out his days in loneliness. His daughters had grown and left the pride, so there was little that was keeping him there. He had never ventured far, so this was really his first time leaving the pride. But he had to do it for himself. So here he was now, out on his own.
Green eyes scanned the area, nothing seeing a single soul in sight. This was common in the roguelands after all. This wasn’t a pride where families lived close to one another. This was no-lion’s land. Velius wandered for some time before he caught the faint scent of someone. It wasn’t familiar and thus, piqued his curiosity. His ears turned back and forth to catch any sound before his eyes scanned the area. After a look here and there, his eyes settled on a green male some ways off. What a surprise, he hasn’t come across a male for some time. With a smile on his face, he padded his way over to the male as he called out friendly, “Hello!”
The roguelands were so lonely, there wasn’t anyone in sight. No one to talk to and no one to keep company with. A stark difference than what Siltim was used to. It unnerved him to no end, but he’d have to get used to it one day. After traveling for who knows how long, everything was like a blur to him, a voice from the distance called out. He paused in his movement as he glanced around before spotting the white male some ways off heading in his direction. Trying to not seem so sad and depressing, he called back to the male, “Hi!”
As the male returned his greetings, this was a good sign as the other seemed rather friendly. As he made his way towards the male, Velius looked him over. He was a rather nice shade of green, almost like a new blade of grass he mused silently. Though, he could see by the expression on his face that something was up with the male. But he was never one to intrude on another’s privacy, it just wasn’t something he did for a living afterall. Taking the initiative, “Name’s Velius. Glad to see another living thing around here, having ran into someone for quite some time!” He laughed with a touch of humor.
Once the other male got close, he had introduced himself. It would be rather rude not to return the friendly gesture himself. So Siltim looked at the male with a slightly lopsided grin as he introduced himself as well, “I’m Siltim. It’s nice to see that I haven’t wandered somewhere that lions don’t live,” He paused to get his barings, “I’ve never been this far outside before actually. So it wouldn’t surprise me what I’d find.” He replied honestly.
Velius nodded his head, “Glad to meet you, Siltim.” As he looked at the male, he heard his words and replied without thinking, “What brings you all the way out here then? Are you traveling to or from home?” He waved a paw, “Forgive me. I don’t mean to intrude and you don’t need to reply. It’s just sometimes my mouth speaks before my brain thinks.” He chuckled lightly.
With a shake of his head, Siltim replied, “Oh, I’m not offended. It’s just, I need a change of scenery. My home pride….just has too many bittersweet memories and therefore, something new is wanted.” He looked up at the sky and hoped his parents were watching him happily. “My parents passed away not too long ago. And my mate, she just vanished one day and I have not heard from her for almost four seasons now. Therefore, I’m out here now in search of a new adventure for myself. I’ve just, never been out so far and to be honest, don’t know all too much other than basic survival skills.”
Surprise was written all over his face as he didn’t expect the male to answer him. But perhaps he could help point the male in the right direction. “Sometimes it is best to have someone to let all the burden come off your chest. It’ll help make things lighter for you.” He nodded calmly, “I think it’s a brave choice that you have made, to start anew elsewhere. Who knows, perhaps this was just meant to be and you need this to help fill out your character,” He paused, “I wish I had a loving family and knew my parents. You are very lucky and I envy you. I am sure your parents are watching you right now.”
With a kind smile, “Thank you for that. I guess I did need someone to talk to,” Siltim replied quietly before asking, “If I may ask, would you care to share my company and help teach me a few things about the rogueland so I am better equipped? I would greatly appreciate it.”
How could he turn down such an offer? There was no way he could. That’s just make him cruel. “Of course Siltim! Come this way, there’s some nice shade where we can spend some time talking and I’ll tell you all the tips and tricks of the roguelands!” He motioned in a direction as he waited for the male to follow him.
“Thank you so much!” He smile widely before walking after the male in the direction that he had motioned. This is what Siltim need. Change. It would make him grow to become the lion he once was. So this was how he spent the first day of his newfound life. With the company of a new friend.
