As many of you probably know, National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is coming up soon! Yay! For those who don't know, it's a November-long marathon to write 50,000 words of a novel in a single month. It has an official website where you can keep up with news, see the weekly writing dares, talk with other NaNoers, and keep track of your own progress. As somewhat of a veteran, let me tell the potential new recruits: it's absolutely bloody insane. 1600 words a day is harder than it sounds for most people--especially if you want it to be half decent. BUT BUT BUT: just because you have 50,000 words of mostly crap at the end of it all, you still have a massive chunk of a first draft of a novel, if not a completed draft in and of itself. It also helps young writers (like me!) realize that, hey, maybe we can write a novel. Anyone going for it this year? You can post your NaNo usernames here. I'll keep track of them in the first post, and we can also use this thread to update each other on our NaNo progress once November rolls along. A link to your profile would be helpful too, but not required. (We'll stalk you down anyway. XDD)

I'm considering doing NaNoWriMo this year. It will be my first year but it won't be as challenging for me as for most people since I write all day except for three hours of my night when I have class. I usually write about 5,000/6,000 words a day on average, so what the hell? Might as well give it a go.
I think my name is madelinehayes... I'll double check.
EDIT: Yeah. It's right.
I still don't know which idea I'm going to use for my plot... Hmhmhm.

This Nano, I'll be tackling the rewrite of Nano '07. I've never done a rewrite for Nano before, but I figure once I'm a few chapters in, I'll be caught up in the new version and less tempted to look at the old one. =3
EDIT: Oh yeah. My NanoName is Da Flea. Just like here. XD

I shall be doing NaNo this year because I want to actually finish unlike last year, because I failed. Hehe.
But I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to choose this for my name 'RickRolledBunny' if anyone wishes to friend me, so be it.

I probably wouldn't be alive though and I do wonder if the Apple and computers would be invented if Germany won. *shudders* No offence to Germany though. I'll probably write either about a girl who escapes her dystopic society, a gatekeeper, or a thriller about a person who is being stalked and what happens with it.

I was typing away one day in the middle of November the computer crashed. I lost all my progress for that day. >.<

The second book in the series (this year's NaNo) especially. This sequel's a lot more psychological than the first. All three of your ideas sound awesome to me.
