Don't know the different between Muslims and Al Quieda.
On Facebook {I'm slightly addicted sweatdrop } a friend posted something like "Happy 9/11. Oh... wait" So then others commented and somehow they came to a comment about exchanging gifts. And of course they said they would exchange Qurans.
It is amazing that after 9 years people still blame the Muslims for it. Not the Al Queida. I always seperated the Muslims from Al Quieda {obviously} and just recently learned that they are indeed Muslim... At least I knew they were different.
People are so blinded by hate that they can not look past it to learn what is actually true.

This pickled vegetable...It doesn't help that on the news they're called "Muslim Extremists" and not "Al Quieda". The blame is not solely on the people but the sources where they get their information. The whole damn country seems to be infected with an "Ignorance and Hate" virus. ... could kick your a** !!

It's frustrating...
I know Al-quieda members are muslims, but I have learned to separate the two. But I think the reason some people blame muslims as a whole, rather than targeting Al-Quieda is because they are still members of Islam, so I assume, some people think Islam=Terrorist.

The whole damn country seems to be infected with an "Ignorance and Hate" virus. And it is "proud ignorance". They think they know it all, but they really do not. But when someone tells them they are wrong they do not accept it. They will fight to the bitter end to prove they are right, even though that will never happen.
I do not listen to the media much. But I did hear that crazy New York pastor talking and the reported was making him fumble and eat his own words. He had no clue what he was talking about. I just sat there scoffing.

But then we would have to call the Japanese terrorists. They did bomb Pearl Harbor after all.
Japan is probably one of the safest places to live right now. America... Not so much.

Japan is probably one of the safest places to live right now. America... Not so much.True. The way I look at is, people put stereotypes on every thing because it helps them understand it better, and it's easier to classify some thing as one thing or another, because that's what every one else is doing, rather than researching yourself and make up your own mind. I don't know how every human mind works though. And I think the main reason why people stereotype Muslims so much is because the media is always saying stuff like "Muslim extremists in the middle east" or "Al-Quieda a Muslim terrorist group" etc. I know there are extremists in every religion, but that doesn't mean the religion as a whole is like that.

Gainesville ain't that way... except for one church, but they lost their tax-exempt status.
but yeh... Florida is it's own nation in many ways.... we might as well elect our own president and declare ourselves a seceded nation.

What was ignored was the motivation. It was stupified by the media to be about muslims and extremism and Christianity and hating freedom. The media, our country, the status quo, the people who own us, do not want us to know that our country is doing terrible things to keep the powerful in power.

A boy I used to go with school with was actually just bragging about burning a Quran on Facebook. I don't think I've ever deleted someone from my friend list so quickly before. Now only that but he said "I am not intolerant of the Islamic Faith, but I am intolerant of those who object to the American way of life." I never really had a problem with the guy before, but now I want nothing to do with him.

We have Chinatown and Little Mexico in all of our major cities. I think he needs to be brought in to the 2000's. This is not the same country as when cowboys were riding around lasoing bad guys... <- Mild exageration

I also want to point out that maybe the reason why people are consistently calling Muslims "extremists" is because a lot of the terrorist organizations are full of Muslims; examples are Taliban, Al-Quieda, the Jihadists...those are just a few that I can name that have Muslims in them. So I can kind of see where people can get the idea that Islam=Terrorist.

Seriously... But people wish to see their own version of the truth, even though it is absolutely wrong... I refer to Al Quieda as extremists, but I know the difference. The media is such a crock. My husband gets to aggravated with it because of how they have been covering the war. You flip to this chanel and they are telling you it's murder, genocide. Then you go to another and it's all good and fine. {and for some reason I just had a de ja vu eek } This truely is a Land of Confusion. Our politicians can't even tell us the truth. And now going full circle, I don't even think the people running our country know what the difference between extremists and average practioners is. I really feel they lost that definition when the towers were bombed and everyone started to point fingers...

A lot of Japanese are Christian now, so the Japanese Christians who bombed Pearl Harbor are terrorists? So that means Christians are terrorists!
Feels like they are some times...

I hate to say it, but it will never happen. You will always have that one group who will not take in to consideration another person's point of view. They will insist their way is right, that their religion is right and is the only one. Hm... A lot like the Christians did in the Midievil times. But a lot of those people were intoxicated by their own filth... I consider those Christian extremists.
