Since the pack had disbanded and Whisper had come back to the packlands still rather unhealthy, the two wolves Helaku and Suzaku had decided to travel with her and help her recover. Now, after three days of searching for a perfect place to rest the old green wolf, the trio had come upon some strange lands that smelled of lots of different wolves.
Whisper, who was padding softly in between the two siblings so that she may retain more body heat, couldn't really smell them though. Because of her old age and unhealthy ways, her sense of smell had been practically diminished, leaving it so the female could only smell really strong scents.
Helaku, on the other hand, could smell perfectly well and so was completely aware of the new scents once the group had approached the general area. And suddenly his fur was on end. Packs were not his favorite thing now, and he was worried that this one might be hostile. Meeting plenty of mean wolves in his lifetime had led the male to be untrusting at first.
So he stopped the group, moving his head to gently nudge Whisp beside him, hoping that she might stop, and he was thankful when she did.
The wolf who once had a crush on the green she then moved foward a bit, testing the air with nose and tongue. Whisper, obviously oblivious to the going-ons, just plopped right down on her rear end and slumped her shoulders, thankful for the rest.

Suzaku paused to sit as well, nudging her friend behind the ear encouragingly. She knew that she'd taken it hard when Kouji, Nessa, and Tomoyo (who had only all just come to the pack) announced that they were traveling North-East to liberate the red and blue wolves' territory, but then for whatever reason, things seemed to have gone sour with Fute as well. It was diappointing, and it had Suzaku on wary edge.
As the three friends traveled Southwards it was not only with the intention of looking out for Whisper, but perhaps finding out what happened to their adopted father. Neither young adult knew that Akamu found a pack, so when they came upon the edge of South-Seaside's territory and Suzaku picked out Akamu's scent...
"Helaku!" She whispered, lifting her own head to the sky now for a better scent of the air. "Do you smell that?"

Whisper, reassured by the affectionate gesture from her good friend, sighed a bit. Walking all of that time really took a lot out of her, but she wasn't about to admit that out loud. Her friends were doing so well trying to look after her, she didn't want to ruin their efforts. But really, they had been doing quite well. The skinny female was feeling better, at least, and had put on a pound or two.
The female's paws feeling somewhat better now that they had stopped moving, rolled onto her side to give them some more slack. But she was curious as to what her two friends were smelling. It was a drag, really, the way she had lost her sense of smell.
So, feeling as if she was kinda on unfamiliar territory (in the figurtive sense), the omega just curled up and rested her head on the ground with her tail covering her nose, attempting to conserve body heat.
And while she did that, the brightly-colored male flicked an ear in his sister's direction. He would have looked at her had it not been for his uneasiness with this land. But he couldn't help but look back at her when he recognized what she was talking about.
"Akamu..." he whispered, almost in disbelief.
Laku wanted to ring out in joy and howl to the world, but he knew that would be foolish. There was no telling what sort of creatures lurked in the darkness...

Suzaku whined softly and thought. She didn't detect the scent of agression, though one scent did seem to stand out strongly over the others, marking off the borders clearly. There was definitely a pack here, and from what information could be gathered the alpha was a large male, and whoever scouted the lands was, while injured (for she could detect the lingering scent of blood drying from Thayne's wound), fully grown as well and from the smell of it a female was with him when they came through. The young adult's ears slowly swiveled to flatten to her head, eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
"We should look into this. If Akamu is here then I'm sure the pack is friendly, he would not settle with hostile wolves."
Had the wolf Helaku called father, and Suzaku almost come to do the same, come to reside here?
Suzaku, less tense and trusting in their dear friend's judge of character, turned to Helaku then watchfully. She didn't want Whisper to feel uncomfortable either, and thought it easier on her for the pack to come to them rather than dragging her further into foreign territory. It would also put the pack at ease if they didn't have strangers waltzing in, claiming to know their pack-brother...
"We should announce ourselves so they know that we aren't intending to intrude."

By the time Suzaku had suggested that they announce themselves, the green she-wolf was already asleep. Her body, it seemed, was attempting to heal itself by catching up on some much needed sleep.
Laku, noting that his good friend had taken to sleeping, nodded silently towards his sister. He knew that the howls would probably wake her right back up again, but he didn't want to risk her safety by just staying in unfamiliar territory unnanounced. It just seemed reasonable that they give up her rest for now in exchange for her safety.
So, without hesitating any further, the young male lifted his nose to the sky and let out a long, cool howl that hopefully alerted the pack to the groups presence without causing any hostile feelings.

Akamu, who had only recently decided upon a densite of his own - it was surprisingly hard to get used to sleeping in one place every night, but he'd finally settled down - and who had, a bit more recently, been through the mating season ((hint xD )) glanced up sharply from whatever business he had been about. That howl...
"Helaku?" It had been so long since the down to earth wolf had seen or heard of his adopted son, he could scarcely believe his ears.
His common sense, however, was not so impacted by the sound. A heartbeat after Helaku's howl tapered to an end, Akamu pointed his own nose upwards and sounded an answering howl.
As soon as his ended, Akamu gave a quick glance back at his den ((which we will pretend Lavena shares for the moment XD)) and took off quickly towards where he'd heard his son's howl come from.

(( Sure thing, Tahj. ^^ ))
Helaku, once his howl had ended, checked quickly on the green wolf beside him. For some reason, the howls hadn't seemed to bother the sickly female all that much. Good, she was still getting the rest that she needed...
But his thoughts were interrupted by an answering howl. It sounded all too familiar and made the male jump and squeal a bit... not very manly-like, really. Then he immediately turned his head towards Suzaku, making it so he could look at her perfectly instead of straining his eyes too much.
"Suza... it's him!!" he whispered excitedly, his green-tipped tail going a mile a minute.
Then, in another instant, he let out yet another howl, one answering his adopted father's. This one, though, was to give the other some idea as to where the group was...

He corrected his direction slightly, at the second howl.
Akamu wore a wide smile- for him- by this time, and his ears stood up at attention. It was Helaku. For certain. Now he sped up a bit, dissatisfied with the slower pace he was currently at.
He must ask after Suzaku, of course, and what had happened of import to Helaku while they'd been separated.. Ach, but he was getting ahead of himself. He had to get there first.
After a little while - for it wasn't the easiest thing, crossing the packlands quickly, but thankfully Helaku hadn't been impossibly far away- the earthy male finally slowed to a trot. He should be around here somewhere.. His nose twitched, trying to find the required scent...
There. And...
"Suzaku as well?" Good fortune upon good fortune upon good fortune.. "Helaku, Suzaku, are you here?" Louder this time, meant to be heard from a decent distance.

Listening to the howls, Suzaku kept an eye on Whisper for that moment. She wanted to monitor the female omega's status as closely as their excitement would allow.
When Akamu answered, and Helaku exclaimed as such, Suzaku just offered a genuine and soft smile to Helaku, a bit toothy. She shared her adopted brother's joy for being reunited with their third, however, and her tail too began to beat the air.
Emerald eyes trained on the direction that the howls, barks and wuff's came, intently searching for the familiar dusty brown pelt of their companion. "We're here!" She barked back.

Now Laku was really excited. It had been too long, he realized once his adopted father grew closer and closer still, since they had been together or even seen one another.
And so when Akamu grew close enough for the group to hear him, the adult was now bouncing up and down on his forepaws, letting out a series of yips and barks that said: "We're here! We're here!"
Yet he didn't think that was absolutely necessary. The sight of this big yellow blob bobbing up and down randomly might have given their position away already.
Whisper, meanwhile, had become to come out of her slumber. She didn't understand why, but now she could never really sleep for too long. And the excitement from all of the yips and barks didn't really lull her to sleep either.
So the green female began to stir, peeking open her eyes to see what was going on. Not finding anything at this moment, really, of interest to her--Helaku and Suzaku were still there, no one else, what was going on?--she just rested her head back onto her tail in that same curled up position. No need to go losing body heat for no reason, right?
But she was still awake and paying attention... she just didn't look like it.

Following the voices of his younger friends the rest of the way, Akamu soon came upon the aformentioned bouncing yellow blob. He had to chuckle a little at that, before coming out in the open himself.
He smiled at the sight of his friends- sending an oblique glance Whisper's way. That one he didn't recognise. Well.. perhaps he did, but it was very, very faint. Not enough to immediately know who she was.
He overrided this observation for the moment, though, too happy to see the other two.
"Helaku, Suzaku! It has been too long." His tail was beating the air as well, but at a more sedate pace. He never was able to show full-out excitement.
"How have you been?" And more importantly... "What are you doing in these lands?"
It would occur to him in a few moments to ask who their sleepy green friend was. Really.

"It's been much too long." She agreed with a soft smile, amused by Helaku's excitement, which greatly outshowed hers. "We're here looking after Whisper, our friend here, but we're also in search of a new home."

Helaku continued to wag his tail, just happy beyond belief that they had come across the territory where his father had settled down in. Then, with a quick glance in Whisper's direction to make sure she was okay, the male stepped forward to actually greet the other.
"Indeed, too long," he agreed, nudging the dusty brown male's shoulder. Man! He probably hadn't seen Akamu since his early adolescent years. And if there had been any meeting in between, it must have been short for Laku didn't much remember.
"Oh, well, I've been magnificent really. Though recently I've become increasingly worried and stressed a bit." Worried about Whisper, stressed that they might not find a suitable place for her to live out the rest of her life in peace.
Then, when his adopted sister pretty much answered the second question, the yellow wolf just nodded his agreement. And in another instant, he moved over to Whisper so that he could nudge her a bit, perhaps to wake her up if she wasn't already.
Groaning and moaning at the nudge, the green she allowed her eyes to flutter open.
"Whaaa..." she murmured, lifting her head slightly to look at Laku. It was then that she finally noticed the other, and quickly rose to her paws. It was then that Akamu could probably see how really thin she was. But the male tried to get her to sit back down again. He feared that if she rose to quickly after just waking up she might overwhelm her senses and fall back down or something...

Akamu gave a smile to Suzaku, silently thanking her for clearing up who Whisper was, and mentally berating himself for not asking first.
His attention was grabbed again, before he could wonder about the 'home' bit, when Helaku spoke up, and his smile widened by a degree or three. He returned the friendly nudge happily, though he had to frown at the last.
...
Ah, now it clicked together in his mind. Suzaku had said they were looking for a home... with such a thin wolf for a companion, that would surely add worry for her health to go along with such a search. Whisper's condition in and of itself caused him to frown further in concern.
"If you would like, I can take you to see my brother, the alpha of these packlands. If you want to consider this place as a home, that is." He flicked his gaze at each of the wolves in turn, questioning. His giddy - if you can call it that- mood from earlier had faded since moving to this more serious subject.
