It was one of the few days, that she went out to hunt for herself. She'd sorta tied herself to a lioness, but was allowed to roam and do as she pleased whenever she wanted.
She enjoyed being able to still take the adventures that seemed to make her blood pulsate, Neph told her, that she'd been bitten by the travel bug in a good hearty nature, but Nayeli was more and more convinced that the lioness was right.
A small hare stood out in the distance, she sniffed at the air, wondering if anyone else was hunting the hare besides herself.

The blue and green lion was not having much luck with hunting today, and it made him sigh. He was hungry, and though he loved plants and flowers and even fruits or the vegetables that grew in the earth, he couldn’t feed himself on those alone. He needed something else, something substantial.
He needed meat, as any lion would.
So when he spotted the hare he immediately thought his luck was changing. Sure, it was just a little snack, but so what? It would fill his belly enough to help him catch something else. Right now he felt like laying down and taking a nap, his stomach was so empty. He grinned as he crouched, not seeing the much smaller hunter across from him. So when he ran at the hare, and it saw him, it darted toward the waiting maned wolf.

She didn't need to hunt, her belly wasnt empty but it kept her own her toes, so when the hare started her way, she was quick on her paws to race up and take its life with her jaws, but by the time she noticed the sizable lion rushing her way.
The hare was dropped as she took off into taller grass, she was not interested in becoming anyones snack or meal. And with her back leg injured from a run in with a leopard, she was definately in no shape to take on a full grown male lion. Not, that she'd fair well in top form she thought as she paused, panting, she didnt see him behind her anymore.
Ears perked as she listened for any sounds of the hunter.

Fushigisou saw the maned wolf catch the hare and was about to congratulate it on a job well done, but it darted off when he got too close.
Smaller animals seemed to have a habit of doing that. He would understand if it was something he might actually want to eat, like a hare or something, but first the serval and now the maned wolf? Dogs and cats didn’t have anything to fear from him: he didn’t like the idea of eating something like that.
Still, he was hungry… and it had left the hare…
Looking down at it, he felt guilty for eating what was someone else’s kill, even if he had accidentally herded it toward them. He picked up the hare and moved toward where she went, then put it down and crouched. “You forgot your dinner,” he called, hoping the dog hadn’t run off too far.

She peered her head out of the tall grasses and looked at him, confusion was clear on her face as she looked to the hare, and then back up at him.
"No, you take it." She said with a nod of her head, she slipped out of the grass, but stayed a good distance away from him still, she was comfortable around bigger predators, she didnt fear them, but he'd scared the crap out of her!
"You take it, its fine." She nodded her head, she didnt need the hare, and as she eyed him, he looked like he could use a bit more meat in his system.

The big lion watched as the maned wolf poked her head back out, a grin spreading over his muzzle. At least she hadn’t run off for good! He tilted his head at her, though he didn’t scoot closer or try to get her to come closer to him. It was clear she was not comfortable with the big lug, so he’d do better if he just let her calm down.
He wasn’t planning on staying long, anyway. He had to go find a meal fit for a lion, after all.
“It’s okay, if you wanted to eat it, you should have it. You caught it, and it’s only a snack for me. You sure you don’t want it? I’d feel bad eating something someone else got, you know.” He was a bit stubborn sometimes, even when being nice. He wasn’t going to eat it unless she convinced him she really didn’t want it.
And even then, it was a toss up.

"Yes, Im sure. Im not in dire need of it.." She knew that with Neph, she'd never go hungry so hunting for herself wasnt something she HAD to do anymore, but she prefered to keep up on her skills.
She gave him a light hearted smile, she was a really friendly easy going lass, even with her back legged scared and hard to use from time to time, not everyone had the same outlook on th e world as she did.
"Take it..who knows the next time you'll have a hare." She teased him playfully, her tail wagging slightly behind her.

Fushigisou nodded slowly, thinking he believed her. Maybe. She didn’t need the food? She said she wasn’t in dire need of it, which meant she didn’t absolutely need the food. Did that mean she still kinda wanted it? He wasn’t sure, tilting his head as he considered things.
He had a habit of spacing out sometimes, over analyzing things to a fault.
And never making any decisions about them.
“That’s true! Hares are tough for me to catch. I think it’s because I’m too big. They see and hear me coming from a mile away, even before I see them. It was lucky with this one… in the sense that I could even prowl close to it before it saw me and ran. You caught it though! That was pretty impressive. I wanted to say that, but you ran off.”

"Well, if you were my size and saw someone your size coming your way, what would you have done?" She asked with a smile, before she nosed the rabbit towards him.
"Take it, who knows when there will be a rabbit without its senses." She chuckled, before she lowered her hind haunches, tail curling around her back leg, hiding it really. She did it without thinking about it these days.

Fushigisou laughed at that, nodding his head. His pink mane tuft fluffed up a bit, falling in front of his eyes. He had to shake his head to get it to go back to where he wanted it to stay. It was a reflex action though, and he didn’t seem to notice. He also didn’t notice her not noticing her own actions.
“Good point! If I saw someone bigger than me in the way I’m bigger than you, I would have gotten the heck out of there, too.” He laughed, knowing he would have tried to stand his ground, but there were just some things that weren’t worth the trouble.
Like a hare, maybe.
It didn’t take him long to devour the hare, leaving some bones and fur, and he sighed, contented for now. “Well, thank you for letting me have that, I needed it. I’m going to go out and find a place to sleep, and maybe some bigger food, but it was nice meeting you… uh! My name is Fushigisou! It would have been rude to go off without introducing myself.”

She laughed, and nodded her head, sitting quietly while he made a quick snack out of the hare, it would have been a decent meal for someone her size, or smaller but he was...a big chunk of lion she thought with a faint laugh.
"Yeah, well somethings arent worth risking your life over." she said with a nod of her head, she enjoyed life far to much to just waste it over a hare. Or anything else, that wasnt her family or friends.
"Nayeli.." She offered with a nod of her head in greeting, she smiled. "Well, I hope hunting goes better for you than it did today." She laughed, rising to her paws, "I should return home myself."

“It was nice meeting you, Nayeli!” he said again, this time able to finish the sentiment. He stood, after cleaning his muzzle and paws, and grinned at her in a friendly way, not in a ‘I’m about to eat you’ kind of way he was sure some lions had.
He wasn’t one of them, though.
“Thanks again for the food! I hope you find something for yourself, if you need it.” He nodded again, then made to leave, turning and padding off the opposite way he had come from, though he had no real destination in mind when he walked.

She watched him for a long moment, before she rose to her paws and padded off back towards the direction of Neph's pride, she wasnt venturing to far her, now that her cubs were due any day now.
Shaking her head at the thought of the large male, with the small hare she chuckled to herself as she disappeared into the tall grasses.
