[...] [Yes, I know, this is actually the title of a DVD (and a website) featuring nude/half-naked female models. But please try to keep in mind that this isn't really about that. We don't need any "reviews" (liek, omg dos hoes iz so fine!1) on the DVD. Okay? Alright. 3nodding xd
Moving on, what is your opinion on the use of scantily clad females in so many r&b, hip-hop, and rap videos? Or music videos of any genre, really?
Is it degrading?
In one "interview," a woman was saying something along the lines of, "...I don't know who in the hell came up with the term 'video ho.' Why not 'video model?'" Is it just a term used by jealous, spiteful females or disrespectful men (who normally call women bitches and hos anyway)? Or is the term what these women deserve, who dress up like "hos" would be expected to dress and do "nasty" dances?]

I don't think its degrading. I mean the women are up thier scadly clad because they want to be. No ones forcing it on them.
However what could be degrading is the lyricle content of the songs they are featured in may be degrading.

That's the way I see it for the most part.
If you didn't want people to refer to you as a "video ho," then don't dress like one or allow yourself to be "portrayed" as one.]

Don't really care I mean they wanted to go into this "profession" sometime during their life so I could honestly care less.

[Ah...the "I don't care" response. 3nodding It's amazing how many things people "couldn't care less" about. xd But, yes, you're right: these women did make a choice to go into that profession.]

It's two-sided coin. Ok, no it's not, but it's nice to think so. These women are selling the images of their bodies to sell whatever they're selling. Now, if they were instead using the image to promote female empowerment or to get women comfortable with their sexuality, that would be a good thing.

I mean you make it as if this topic is ******** relevant to any national problems. neutral

No, "video hos" aren't relevant to any national issue xd . But does everything have to be??
Not that I feel obligated to explain myself to you, but ah, what the hell. I like to do that obviously. xd
This is a "black pride guild." A "guild" relating to "black" people. (I didn't choose the name, so I won't touch the "pride" part.) BUT, not all members are black, and I'm glad. We ARE all human, though, if I'm not mistaken. wink
Doesn't it seem obvious that there would be all kinds of threads that relate to different people in different ways? As a mod, I try to get everyone to discuss something. This is a forum-based environment, afterall. So, I figured someone would have an opinion on this subject. Afterall, I do.
Apparently you do as well, and you're doing just what I expected and hoped: giving us your opinion on the subject! biggrin Congratulations!
Seriously though, I'm glad you decided to elaborate a little more beyond the silly "I don't care" response. 3nodding ]

[I agree: it would be nice to regard this issue as a two-sided coin. xp And yes, if they were promoting something seen as positive, maybe more people would be apt to like them rather than scoff. But then again, would parents really accept them as role-models for their daughters? I don't really think they would. neutral ]

That's the actual title of her profession, and most people know that. The girls in these videos aren't seen as models; in fact a few of them actually might not be. xp Some of them are exotic dancers.]
