Alright, so this is my senior year and I began school again today. Well, I thought last year that I had my schedule straightened out. I had all the prerequisites in the line and my senior project class was going to be me working in the school's bistro as a manager.
However, apparently, my teacher's classes tweaked out and now I am in classes that I specifically asked not to be in. And when I went to my councelor to ask him to fix things, two classes that we hadn't planned on changing periods locked me out of what I needed until my third trimester so I couldn't be a bistro manager, screwing up my entire senior year and project. So now, instead of being super angry about it I am trying to come up with another senior project idea.
So far, I came up with three ideas. Idea number 1 would be to plan a restaurant from the ground up (location, interior design, the menu, the seating, the works). Idea number two was to plan and cater an event (which would be a small house warming/wine tasting event for a family friend). Then lastly, my idea was to combine idea 1 and 2. I would be designing my restuarant but to extend that I would be showing the effort of what more than just my restaurant that I would be doing (in this case catering).
So what sounds like the best that you would be most interested in seeing? Keep in mind that my presentation will be infront of about 45 people, to which the details will include me bringing samples of my dishes to the presentation, a slideshow, possibly a video of me preparing the food, ect....

As someone who wants a future in event planning, I say go for the second idea. 3nodding Trying to combine both, while a great idea, might be a little more tough. Especially on what I imagine, for a senior, would be a tight budget... seeing how you would want to include as many ideas as possible.
However, as a slight mix of both, you could decorate and transform a few small rooms in your friend's house into a completely different location, with the use of some fabric, appropriate music, decorations, and candles. And, of course, food. The way you describe it (especially what with mentioning catering a wine tasting) sounds very rich.
Either way, it sounds like a blast. Good luck, and have fun with it!

I for my sophomore year I asked for weight room and women's self defence. And they gave me parenting class and world cooking...
It's not just you, guaranteed its about half the people here who had to go through the same thing.
