Magaera hummed to herself as she trotted towards the edge of the forest. She'd managed to sneak away from her mothers and siblings so she could get some time to herself. All seven of them was too suffocating for her.
Finding a nice shady spot next to a tree, the young pup sat down and began to groom her fur, as was her habit. She was very vain about her looks and would spend hours just licking and preening herself. She kept up the humming while she did so, the thought that maybe someone would hear that humming not even crossing her mind as the tune went up and down in rhythm and beat. She lifted her leg up and licked at the length of it before nibbling on a persistent flea that had been bugging her all day.

Daddy and aunt Laera were fighting again! He didn't know why they kept fighting about silly things. This morning, aunt Laera had gotten all upset because she lost her bracelet in a bush and it took Daddy too long for her liking to retrieve it. He thought the whole fight would go no where, so he took advantage of their distraction to wander away and explore. Daddy said that the world was scary, but Kieren saw no reason to be scared!
The bright pup wiggled through a bush, giggling as the branches tugged at his fur. Leaves scattered all over the place which he chased with a joyful yelp. Then they all settled on the ground, and the game was done.
But what... was that sound? He thought he heard humming. Who would be humming out here all alone? He poked around until he spotted another pup sitting near the edge of the forest. He wagged his tail and smiled. She was pretty!
He scurried towards her fearlessly. "Hello!"

Magaera's head snapped up when she heard a new voice, her pale green eyes focusing on an almost blindingly bright puppy. Her tail twitched as she was stopped mid lick, her tongue sticking out comically. She pulled it back in hastily and lowered her leg, giving her fur a slight fluff to show off the glossiness. "Hello." She said silkily and without interest.
In actuality she was very interested. She'd never met anyone outside her family and she wanted to know who this bright pup was. "What are you doing here?" She asks, curiosity creeping into her voice.

Kieren couldn't help but grin at Magaera even though she didn't seem all that impressed with him. What a silly way to sit! Did some wolves sit with their legs up like that? Maybe it was a special thing wolves in her pack did. He didn't really know these things, since he didn't live in a pack. Aunt Laera taught him lots of things like how to be quiet and what to eat, but nothing really interesting.
"I'm exploring all by myself," he said proudly, plopping himself in front of Magaera. "What are you doing?"
She was even prettier up close! Her fur was shiny and clean. Kieren may have been brightly coloured, but he was only clean if Laera game him a bath. He had never seen someone the same colour as her, either. Kieren thumped his pink tail in the grass, staring at Magaera expectantly.

(He's so cute! XD )
Magaera looked at him with a slightly puzzled expression. He was sort of like her other siblings, but he was just so...bright and different. She sat up straighter, her head held high to show she was of higher rank here. Well, she wasn't really, but she thought she was and that's all that mattered to her.
"I'm cleaning myself. All by myself." She says and puffs out her chest a little. She wondered where he came from. Was there other wolves roaming out here? What were they like? Could she possibly use them for something? "Where do you come from?" She asks, standing up and padding over to sniff him. He smelled a little different then her family too. Which she thought was sort of odd, but interesting.

The bright puppy started to laugh as Magaera sniffed him. Her soft breaths tickled! Kieren wiggled away from her, but then he got to his paws and tried circling her. And not only did she look pretty, but she smelled pretty, too. Kind of like aunt Laera, but a little bit different.
"I'm from... I'm from... I don't know where I'm from. Me, dad, and my aunt don't stay in the same place very long," He admitted, looking a bit unsure. Was it strange that he didn't know? Kieren paused to think about it. "Aunt Laera says we are from far away."
"So... where are you from? I'm Kieren," he said suddenly, with a big grin.

Magaera turned with him when he began to circle her, her head tilted slightly to the side. He was...interesting. She'd never met anyone like him before and was even more interested. "Dad? You have a male as a parent?" She asks curiously and twitches her tail from side to side. She was raised by her mother and her mate, who also happened to be a female. Her mothers hadn't gotten around just yet to explaining the situation with her and she'd just accepted it as the norm. Since she didn't have much to compare it to. "My name is Magaera." She says offhandedly.

"Yeah, I take after my dad. He's got fur like mine," Kieren said, grinning broadly again. He was the only pup in his litter that shared his father's bright fur, and the particular shine it carried. "But... I don't have a mom." He looked crestfallen for a moment, his ears drooping slightly at the tips. Of course, he knew he had one somewhere... But he didn't remember a thing about her.
Kieren shook himself off and smiled once more. "Do you live here, M-magaera?" He asked, stumbling over her name. Then he lowered his nose to the ground and began to sniff. "It smells different here."

"Oh." Magaera says, referring to his comments about his dad. She'd have to ask about that later, like how come she didn't have one...
She gave herself a little shake before focusing back on Kieren again. "Yeah I live here. And you smell different to me." She points out and tilts her head to the side. "Does where you live look like this? What type of flowers do you have?" She asks. She had a small obsession with flowers, since she thought they were beautiful and looked nice in her fur.

Kieren had to stop and think about it for a bit. "Well right now we are staying nearby, we don't really live anywhere for long... I don't know about flowers." He was silent for a moment, when suddenly his expression changed into excitement. "Hey! Come and see! I can take you there," he said, nodding vigorously again.
The pup got up as if he was about to start running. "You can meet my daddy and aunt Laera too!"

Magaera tilted her head, a little puzzled by his response. She thought everyone noticed the flowers wherever they went. Then she shrugged and stood, hearing him shout something about meeting the rest of his family. She honestly she had to say she was curious as to what another family was like, so she stood up too and wagged her tail slightly. "Okay, show me where they are." She said, a bit of excitement creeping into her tone despite herself.

The excited pup wanted to run badly, so when Magaera agreed to come with him, he let out a little yip and dashed in the direction he had come. There was a small path cut through the bushes that was often used by passing deer, so Kieren kept stopping suddenly to sniff, dashing a couple more feet, and then stopping again. He had never tasted deer, but they sure smelled good to his young nose!
"This is the way I think," Kieren said, nodding so hard that his ears wobbled. "there's some flowers over there, see?" He used his forepaw to point to the edge of the path, where some scraggly purple flowers were growing. They looked like they had been trampled at one point. But Kieren thought he had made a great find, so he beamed at Magaera and wagged his tail.

Magaera trotted to keep up, not wanting to look like she was too desperate to meet these new wolves or anything. She flicks her tail from side to side a little and lifts her head up high. She didn't seem too troubled by his sudden stoppings and goings, since he kind of reminded her of her other siblings.
She paused when they got to the flowers and she looked at them critically before giving them a few sniffs. "Ah....These would be prettier if somebody hadn't stepped on them." She chuckles and noses the drooping fauna.

Trampled? Oh dear, Magaera was right. He walked over and nosed them too. It smelled like deer... Maybe one had used the flowers as a bed. At least she didn't seem too disappointed. And now he knew what kind of flowers to look for on the way.
She was so casual and easy-going! Sometimes aunt Laera got mad at him for being to excited but Magaera didn't seem to mind. His brightly coloured tail seemed to wave like a signal flag.
"There might be more along the way... C'mon, we're almost there!" Kieren dashed down the path again, this time without stopping. Suddenly the path grew wider, until it led to an open clearing. A couple of flowers grew along the edge of the tree line. "We're here! Hey look, flowers!" He ran to them, picked a few, and carried the makeshift boquet back to Magaera.
"Th' i' for you," he said around the mouthful, before placing them gently at her feet. "We've been staying here..." But where were the others? The clearing was clearly absent of other wolves.

Magaera was a little disappointed when the flowers were in such a bad condition. She loved flowers, and she thought it a waste for them to get trampled like that. But alas, that was life. She shrugs and trots after Kieren, an amused look on her face as she watched the other pup scamper around. He was so hyper and it made her chuckle.
When they got to the clearing she looked around with interest, her bright eyes scanning it for other wolves. There were none here, but it certainly smelled like unknown wolves.
As he brought the bouquet over Magaera's eyes lit up noticeably. The stalks were a little crumpled and roots were visible with dirt clinging to them, but it was still pretty. "Oh wow!" She gasps and gets up and starts to smell the flower lovingly. "These are really nice!"
