How long had he been walking now? Since morning, and it was now.. well past noon. Did he stop? Not until just that moment, no. Why not? No idea. He had no reason to stop, he figured. Obi was now seated quietly in the shade of a puny, rather pitiful excuse for a tree, tired eyes gazing at the savanna with little interest. He'd seen quite a bit of the savanna, actually, as he's been traveling most of his adult life and he was, currently, nearing middle-age. Ah, perhaps he'd encounter that dreaded mid-life crisis he'd heard about once from some older lioness he met who knows how long ago now. He raised a brow at the thought.

Then snorted. "Pfft. Mid-life crisis my tail," he muttered. "I'm still young. Still.. young, yeah!" Was he in denial? Kinda. Was he in for a bit of disappointment? Probably, but not just yet. Mid-life for him would be soon though, very soon.

User Image With a bounce in her step Kokuro wandered the lands of her birthplace. The sun was half-hidden in the clouds and the breeze felt good upon her semi-dark fur. Though very little plant life, there was plenty of rocks and trees too climb. Well the trees not so much as she was a canine and not feline. It was times like these that made everything seem simplistic, a bit lonely though. Kokuro was more of a pack animal, she enjoyed the company of others and often hated to be alone.

Humming a soft tune from childhood, Kokuro continued her brisk walk around. That is until she heard an unknown male voice up ahead. Ears alert and tail straight, she froze until she heard the words 'young'. Puzzled she cautious made her way out and ventured a semi-loud, "Hello".

He turned his head with a start as another introduced herself. A wild dog, like himself, but female, and striking at that. Obi blinked his mid-life worry away and replaced his currently surprised look with a welcoming smile. "Hi," he said, standing so as not to be rude as she approached. It'd been a while since he ran into another wild dog, and he was lucky this time that it was a girl too. Judging by her approach it didn't seem as though she were the hostile type, which was reassuring. Sure, he could stand his ground when he had to, but really he preferred running into the civil sort.

"I don't suppose you heard any of what I said just now?" he asked, still smiling. Hopefully not, and if she had hopefully not everything. The last thing he wanted was the youth to think he was some old fart. He was nowhere near old anyway. At least he didn't really feel like he was.

Kokuro assessed the male wild dog infront of her, he seemed like an interesting fellow. He didn't seem like a bad sort plus she also enjoyed his voice as it was calming and friendly. " To be honest, no I didn't I just heard a word or two. Why?" She tilted her head in curiousity, not thinking that she may come off as nosey. She made her way even closer, her tail swaying happily at the prospect of meeting another of her kind. " My name is Kokuro, what brings you around these parts? I hardly see many wild dogs around here. Most are to busy moving on for better parts in the world." She smiled and gave him a once-over, taking in his appearance. ' How handsome. ' She thought to herself.

Her answer relieved him somewhat, which may or may not speak volumes concerning his insecurities about getting older and still not having any progeny to speak of (that he knew about anyway). In contrast to his own father who, the last time he saw him (which was just before he left to go out and 'find himself') already had about twenty pups of his own. And that was just with his mom. The older canine definitely knew a thing or two about wooing the opposite sex, some of which Obi wished he inherited more of. He did get some, but not nearly as much as his father. Ah.. his father.

Shaking the reminiscent thoughts of his family Obi smiled as best he could while still trying to brush the worried look off his face. "No reason," he replied a little too quickly afterward. "Ah, Obi. Pleasure to meet you." Pleasantries aside he took a moment to gather his thoughts in regards to her question. At the start he'd set off on this seemingly endless journey to 'find himself', but for a while now he's felt as though he'd just been drifting from place to place without any set goal to achieve or destination to reach. "Mm.." he mused for a moment, then continued. "Just passing through I guess. You?"

His speech brought a smile upon her face, " Obi," She tested the words aloud before continuing, " A pleasure to meet you as well." She thought of her answer before telling him. " Well, to be honest I am trying to find a more stable home. One to start a family." Kokuro ventured a little closer to Obi. " Are you too part of the rogue lands? Or are you from another tribe and just wandering around?"

Well she seemed nice, and her answer was so similar to his that it was a little creepy.. but he didn't say anything about that. He focused on the fact that she seemed nice and lingered on the thought, smiling. "Like I said," he started to answer. "I'm just passing through. I haven't had a place to belong to for quite a while now, come to think of." He always thought about it. Still, although it was a depressing thought the male still chuckled a bit after he said it.

"In any case, a more stable home?" he continued a little curiously. If, by some chance, she had information about any packs around the roguelands, he didn't want to miss out. "Are you headed somewhere in particular? Or just floating around until you find one?"

" Yes, I'm tired of wandering around. I have seen much of the rogue land and found it somewhat lacking... " Kokuro paused there to look out into the somewhat barren land. " I have heard many good things about the tribe Peke'Na, so I was thinking of heading in that direction to see what I could learn." Turning to smile at him once more, until she spotted a watering hole. Licking her lips she spoke, " Once sec, I'm so thirsty." That being said she walked further up and leant down to drink. Sighing in satistification on a breath Kokuro enjoyed the coolness trickling down her throat.

Once done she turned back to see Obi had moved next to her, and began to drink himself. An unknown sent caught her attention. " I think we may have company." She cautiously whispered, getting into hunting pose. Her ears back, fur slightly bristled, and claws coming out.

The Peke Na? The name was familiar, but he couldn't remember from where he'd heard it or was told of it. Still, he nodded at her reply and smirked a bit. "I guess the roguelands aren't for everyone. At least not forever," the male answered. "I can't really say I'm tired of it just yet, but I wouldn't be opposed to finding a permanent home myself." Actually he'd wanted a permanent home for a good while now, though the part about him not being tired of the roguelands was true. He was rather fond of the new and vastly different areas and meeting other wanderers like him.

Now, being the laid back type and having already gotten used to rustling noises all around, he didn't really notice that someone or something may have come their way. He only noticed the foreign scent when she said something, so he looked around cautiously for whatever it was. He was still sitting up though, so was kind of like a big, brown target.

" No, everyone has their own path in life and that's just as well that you aren't tired of it. I'm sure you will settle down when you are ready. I hope you find the one you are searching for, if that is indeed what you intending." Tribalwind almost absentmindly as she looked further off into the fields. Fur bristling she wanted to be ready for whatever was coming out of hiding. Suddenly the creature made itself known and Tribalwind almost blushed at what had had her spooked. A rabbit. A tiny dirty rabbit that had disguised its sent to get away from prey, that was now currently frozen in fear looking at both her and Obi.

Tribalwind let out a semi-loud bark to scare the rabbit into movement, allowing it to get away for now as she wasn't that hungry. " Well, I must be on my way. Sorry to the abrupt farewell but I promised a friend I would watch her pups for her to give her a break. It was very nice meeting you and I wish you luck on finding what your search for!" She smiled as she gave a respectful bow at the male before turning around and headed for Peke'Na. " May our paths cross once again." She gave one last farewell before disappearing into the bush.
