After searching throughout the various training rooms that the HQ had to offer, Lilith had finally found one that was completely empty. She stretched her arms over her head and sighed. Now she could at last train her two new Pokemon. Her hand went down to the belt at her waist, where she retrieved her two newest Pokeballs. Inside were the new additions to her team: two brother Pidgeys. Catching them had taken forever, but Lilith could not afford to pass them up. Hopefully, all of her hard work would pay off now.

"Go, Donovan! Dresdan!"

The Pokeballs flew from her hand and landed on the hard floor, opening up and releasing the two Pokemon that were held within. The first that appeared was a brown and black Pidgey, who glanced coolly in Lilith's direction, then began preening himself. Out of the second one came a gray, black, and orange Pidgey who fluttered happily to his brother's side. Lilith placed her hands on her hips and called to the two birds.

"All right, guys, let's start our training, 'kay? We'll start with out with the Gust attack!" Donovan's response to his trainer was a glaring look and a clacking of his beak. Dresdan, however, chirped happily and began skipping about in a circle. Lilith pursed her lips and pouted slightly. This... This might be difficult.

Alright, first thing's firs--well, second.

First had been finding her room and unpacking all of her belongings, finding a uniform that fit properly, and all of that.

Second would be to locate the training facilities.

"Pidgeo~" the white and gold bird chirped as she peered over her owner's shoulder. The only reason she was getting a ride instead of the other way around was due to the fact her wingspan was larger than the width of the hallway. She wouldn't complain, of course; how often did she get a ride from Claire? Not often at all, that was certain.

The grunt ignored the bird's happy chirping as she turned a corner, peering into rooms with open doors to see the different training rooms. She'd had the same idea as Lilith, however, as she picked that very room to walk into. It wasn't until she'd already fully entered when she realized her mistake and stopped mid-step. "Oops," she started, bowing her head slightly as an apology. "I guess this room's taken, I'm sorry. I'll just g--"

But before she could finish, Odette had launched off her shoulder with a loud "Geot!!" and flew in a large circle around the room. There were other birds in here, but from the looks and sounds of it, they were misbehaving. Humph! Screw finding an empty room! The vain bird would quickly show the trio how well-groomed and well-behaved she was, and would be extremely envious of her. Oh yes, she could make her owner very proud by showing her how much better she was than these, egh, common, filthy little birds.

She felt rather relieved when the person looked to be a young woman, not much older than she. From the bewildered look on the girl's face, Lilith deduced that she was a trainee... A new recruit. She decided to be nice and shrugged. "Eh, I don't really care. You can train here if you wish." Lilith chanced a quick look at the Pidgeot behind the girl. It was a gorgeous golden color, but it seemed rather proud. She turned her back to the new pair and rolled her eyes. Perhaps all birds were drama queens...

Lilith sent out one more Pokeball from her belt, which turned out to contain her shiny Jigglypuff, Ziazan. The Balloon Pokemon bounced over to her trainer happily and Lilith gave a small smile. "Be sure to watch the feather-brain brothers and keep them in line. No excuses." She gave a sharp tilt of her head to the pair of Pidgeys a few feet away from them. Ziazan grinned and nodded. "Puff!" With that, she bounced off into the corner, keeping one eye on the birds at all times.

Lilith placed her hands on her hips once again and turned to the Pidgeys. She was surprised to see only Donovan sitting on the floor. Dresdan was already flying through the air of the spacious training room. He had caught sight of the golden Pidgeot and simply had to meet her. After all, he was plenty handsome himself. Once he had caught up to the Pidgeot, he chirped and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

...Could Pidgeys wiggle their eyebrows? ...Did Pidgeys even have eyebrows? Either way, he was obviously trying to impress the pretty Pidgeot.

Well, it seemed that Odette had chosen here for them to train. At least, to fly around in. The dual-type should know by now that training was one of her owner's top priorities, and that was the main reason they'd come here. Having an internal map of the headquarter's layout would prove to be quite valuable, but she'd have to learn all of the floors first.

What better way to take a break from memorizing than by training?

"I must apologize again. I'd meant to find an empty room to train in, but Odette's almost as stubborn as I am," the violet-eyed young woman stated matter-of-factly, "and once she gets an idea in that bird brain of hers, it's hard as hell to change her mind."

It was true, too. Like owner, like pokemon, or something along those lines. Claire didn't read too much into old, cliche quotes.

"And pardon my manners. My name is Claire, and if you couldn't tell already I'm new here. Just transferred in after achieving grunt ranking. And that vain thing up there is Odette." She offered the other grunt another polite bow before she straightened to see what Odette was up to.

The white and gold bird had found a rafter to perch on, so perch she did. It wasn't until she turned around and ruffled her wings a bit that she noticed the Pidgey that had followed her. She tilted her head slightly, eying him very critically, before clacking her beak disapprovingly. Ugh, as if.

At the eyebrow wiggling, however, she snapped her wings out and leaned forward before screeching loudly at him, making it very obvious that she was not the slightest bit interested in such an ugly little thing. With that, she beat her wings several times to fly over him and landed gracefully on another rafter, and settled down to preen.

It made Lilith wonder how they would get along. She smirked, then looked to the girl, who was apparently named Claire. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, Claire. I'm Lilith. Been here for a little while." Her shoulders shrugged. "Not as long as some others, obviously, but long enough." She glanced upward to see Dresdan trying in vain to impress the golden Pidgeot. Her eyes rolled and she called out to Ziazan. "Round him up."

The Jigglypuff nodded and inflated herself, slowly floating upwards until she had reached the Pidgey-Casanova, who was still attempting to appeal to the Pidgeot. Ziazan gently, but firmly, gripped the Pidgey at the base of his wings and floated back down to the ground. Dresdan wiggled out of the Jigglypuff's grasp and hopped over to his scowling brother. He made a small clicking noise that vaguely resembled a wolf-whistle. This loosely translated to: She digs me. Donovan gave his brother's wing a small bite with his beak, then ruffled his feathers. What an idiot...

Lilith displayed a scowl very similar to the one that Donovan wore. She folded her arms and called to the two birds. "Enough screwing around. Let's practice those Gust attacks!" This time, both Pokemon cooperated, even though neither truly wanted to. They began flapping their wings in unison and, almost instantly, both took off into the air. Small blades of air could be seen swirling about the Pidgeys' feathers, and at the same time, both unleashed the ball of air towards each other. Lilith looked on approvingly. They can listen and do as their told when they want to, it seems...

"The pleasure's mine," she countered. "And I hope that one's not getting his hopes up, because he's not going to get anywhere with her. The only thing that would is a mirror," the young woman said with a dismissive wave of her hand. "She's terribly vain." As if that obvious.

Claire and Odette both watched the Jigglypuff go retrieve the Casanova-Pidgey, much to the Pidgeot's relief. But that noise he'd made, was that aimed at her? Honestly! She didn't know what that ugly thing was thinking! Nothing, obviously. She let out an angry squawk before gracefully swooping down next to the black-haired girl. She ruffled her feathers and preened a bit before holding her head up as high as she could, silently showing how much higher she thought herself than anyone else.

Pah, anyone could do better than either of those little things, especially her! "Pidgeoo!" She spread out and flapped her wings several times, about to take off, but a snap of her owner's fingers stopped her mid-flap.

"Odette, no." Claire said simply. She knew her Pidgeot made it a habit to constantly try to prove she was better than every other pokemon, especially other birds, but she had to learn to control it. "You will not interfere with their training. Which reminds me, that's what you should be doing, too. Practice your sand attacks over there," she said and pointed to a corner of the room, where she couldn't whip up sand at anyone else. "We'll be going into the desert today or tomorrow. I want you to practice in here because it's harder to pull off a successful sand attack in here than in the desert, and training a lot there would be too easy. And I will not allow you to get lazy."

The bird clacked her beak once or twice, irritated that her owner had stopped her. It would take no time at all to prove how much better she was..! So why wouldn't Claire let her? ..oh well, she'd just show them her sand attacks instead. With that, she lifted herself off the ground and circled around to the vacant corner. She circled again, angling her wings down a bit to gain speed before she dove towards the floor. Right before she would've crashed, her wings snapped out as her talons extended and dug into the ground, one a good distance away from the other, and used the momentum of her landing immediately to whip up as much sand as she could into a whirling twister of sand and dust.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. At Claire's remark on Dresdan's imminent failure, Lilith merely laughed. "He may be stubborn about it, but he'll forget all about it in day. He practically flirts with anything that breathes."

Lilith continued to watch as the two brothers practiced their Gust attacks. Both were fairly proficient with the Flying attack, it seemed. Donovan was obviously the stronger of the two, but both Pidgeys were strong for their level. As the brothers continued on, Lilith took the chance to glance over at the golden Pidgeot. It was indeed impressive, but Lilith could not help wondering if the bird was all talk. Her eyes followed the Pidgeot as it flew around and dived into a potent Sand-Attack. Lilith raised an eyebrow. All looks this Pidgeot was not.

Donovan made a split-second glance in his human's direction. She was looking away. Perfect. Finally, he could make some mischief. He flapped his wings even harder and sent a large Gust attack barreling towards his brother. Dresdan was not quick enough to dodge it and got hit square in the stomach. He was knocked back several feet and flapped his wings furiously to regain his balance. As he did, Dresdan gave a seething glare to his brother, who was chirping and laughing in hysterics.

At the sound of laughter, Lilith whipped he head around and glowered at Donovan. "Hey! Donovan, stop it!" Her voice was steady and stern. The Pidgey stopped laughing at his human's command, but he still held a smirk on his face. Lilith then looked to Dresdan, who was still plenty shaken. "Dresdan, are you okay?" The Pidgey nodded and frowned at his brother. The woman sighed. "All right, try the Gust attacks once more!"

Claire allowed a small smirk to form on her face. "That's good, then. Odette doesn't need any followers. Unless it was a mirror, of course." The golden bird would probably love that.

The aforementioned Pidgeot glanced to her trainer for further commands, but all she received was a swirl of Claire's pointer finger on her right hand, signaling her to continue it. With a small grunt of effort, Odette beat her wings harder, feeding more dust and sand into the vortex. It was exceedingly simple and easy in here, where the only sources of wind were from her and the two other birds. Outside, there'd be winds coming from every direction, and a plethora of sand. If she wasn't careful, she could start an uncontrollable sandstorm or something. Then she would be in trouble, and she wouldn't get a bath! That was the worst thing of all.

At the chirping and laughing, the violet-eyed grunt turned to watch the pair of Pidgeys. "Looks like those two are going to be a handful," she commented in a curious tone. She'd have to get herself another pokemon one of these days. Odette was very good at what she did, but she drew a lot of unnecessary attention to herself. What she needed was a smaller, less distracting pokemon, with common colors. Not being recognized by non-Rocket members was important, but Odette was hard to forget.

Turning back towards her bird, she nodded in approval. She still had the swirling twister of sand under control. She looked like she was getting a bit tired from all the effort, though. "Very good. Finish it and you may take a break. We'll clean all that sand out of your feathers later."

"Pidgeo!" That meant a bath!! Or a good run-through with her favorite brush, but even that would be amazing. The Pidgeot suddenly froze mid-flap with her wings extended in front of her, leaning backwards slightly, before immediately thereafter launching herself into the middle of the blinding vortex of sand. A moment or two later, it seemed as if a bubble inside it had popped, as suddenly the sand flew out from the middle and the swirling soon stopped. Odette, flying in the middle of what was once the large sand attack, glided down and landed a few feet from her trainer and shook her whole body vigorously, trying to get rid of all the sand she could. Yuck, she hated sand...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Lilith turned to Claire in a bit of bad temper at the sound of the woman's comment on the Pidgey brothers. To her ears, it seemed somewhat snide. She let her anger ebb, though, and simply shrugged her shoulders in reply. "I suppose, but that is merely their character. Who am I to change that?" She turned back to glance at the brothers, who were still practicing their Gust attacks without pause. A sigh escaped her. "I will just need to find a way to control them without binding them."

While their trainer was talking to the other human girl, Donovan and Dresdan continued their labor. Both were beginning to grow tired, but neither wanted to go down before the other. As they strained on, Dresdan's eyes began to wander to the golden Pidgeot once again. Now, there was a piece of work. There was no way that she could resist his wit and charm for long, no sir. Once she returned to her trainer, Dresdan could not help but notice that she was covered with a coating of sand. Well, he had a Gust attack, didn't he? All logic pointed to him assisting in cleaning her up! That was surely the answer to his heartache woes.

Dresdan looked quickly back to his brother and clacked his beak, hoping to convey his plans without speaking out loud. Donovan rolled his eyes and paused his attack for a split second. In that window, Dresdan turned full face and aimed a very light Gust attack at the Pidgeot's feathers, hoping that it would only blow the sand off of her. As this intelligent action took place, Lilith watched as the attack was aimed and fired. The palm of her hand met her forehead. Oh... wonderful.

If Lilith ever wanted to train them properly, she'd have to change their behavior. Letting them act like that wouldn't get her too far, in the grunt's opinion.

And then, while their owner was distracted, one of the pair shot a weak gust attack at Odette... to clean her off?

Claire couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her. "Looks like someone has an admirer," she said with a smirk.

Odette, while glad to have some of the sand blown off of her that she hadn't gotten, was miffed that this Pidgey insisted on bothering her. Couldn't he see she didn't have any interest in his affections? Obviously not. With a huff and a glare, she swiftly turned away from him with her beak in the air.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Lilith groaned and rolled her eyes visibly, casting a heated glare in Dresdan's direction. Why did they have to act like idiots in front of the new Rocket? Way to make a first impression. She looked towards Claire and grimaced. "I must apologize for Dresdan. Please forgive his moronic behavior." Another glare was aimed at the Pidgey, who did not notice his trainer's ire.

In fact, Dresdan did not notice and did not care either way. His attention was being given fully to the golden Pidgeot, who had turned her back to him and stuck her beak in the air. Blissfully ignorant of his trainer's rage, he gracefully flitted down to the Pidgeot's side, smoothing back the feathers on his head with his wing and giving her a dashing grin.

Donovan shared his trainer's frustration. He and his brother both needed to get stronger if they were going to get anywhere with the human girl, and that meant concentration. But he... he just decided to go gallivanting off after a yellow ball of down! He clacked his beak, thoroughly irked. After a second of thought, Donovan sent a Gust attack flying towards the Pidgeot and his idiot brother. This attack, unlike his brother's, was in no way kindly sent.

Claire tried not to let another chuckle escape her, figuring that Lilith was probably more than a little frustrated as it was. She didn't need someone laughing at her or her predicament to make things worse. "No, it's alright. Though I can't say the same for Odette," she replied as she watched the Pidgeot.

The aforementioned bird was hoping that the annoying little ball of feathers would get the hint, but no, he was down there and what was he doing?! He looked absolutely ridiculous! Was that supposed to impress her or something? With a huff, she turned away from him once more, ruffling her feathers.

Her trainer was about to speak again when she noticed Donovan's gust attack, and it looked.. not as harmless as Dresdan's was. Uh oh. While she wasn't at all worried about Odette's health, she was more worried about her temper.

Barely a millisecond after that thought, the gust hit Odette and maybe Dresdan - if it did, she didn't care. It hadn't hit her full on, but it had hit her. He attacked her, and she hadn't even done anything! If birds could growl, she would be growling. Enraged, she turned once more to face Donovan and snapped her wings wide, aiming one toward Dresdan in the hopes of hitting them, before flapping them a few --

"Odette," Claire said warningly. There was only so much she could do to stop the bird once she was in the air and had a target in her sights. That point was drawing ever closer, unfortunately.

"Pidgeeooo...." Again, if she could growl, she would be snarling right now. Ohhh, how dare he, how dare both of them pester her in such a way! It made her blood boil. Her head whipped to the side to send a bone-chilling glare to Dresdan before walking over and standing next to Claire, hoping that both smaller birds would leave her alone before she had to teach them both a lesson.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Lilith's blood instantly began to boil. These feather brains weren't listening to anything she said! What the hell was she supposed to do?! Why couldn't they just cooperate instead of making a huge mess?

Lilith stopped herself. She remembered what the therapist had said about her controlling her anger. She took a deep breath, held it for five seconds, and slowly released it, clenching her fists all the while. Once that was done, she placed her hands on her hips and calmly looked to Donovan, who was still in the air. She made her voice loud and clear. "Donovan. No more."

The Pidgey in flight was still furious. He fluffed up his feathers at the Pidgeot's challenge and clacked his beak menacingly [as menacingly as it could be from a Pidgey]. He would take this stuck-up bird on! He would! Of all the nerve... Then he heard his trainer's command. It was more authoritative than before. Finally, she sounded like she was in control. Donovan smirked and gracefully flitted back down to the ground and back to his human's side.

The Gust attack hit and sent Dresdan staggering back a few steps. He was rather shocked, then glared at his brother. What was his deal? Was socializing a bad thing to him? He smoothed out his feathers and saw the lovely Pidgeot walk back to her human. Dresdan gave her another dashing smile as he did the same, but he then caught sight of the bird's freezing glare. He flinched, then regained his composure and sauntered to his human's and his brother's side.

As the birds returned to Lilith, she sighed and rolled her eyes. These birds... were idiots.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 19, 2010 4:14 am

Odette continued to glare icily at the pair of birds, eyes slowly turning into colored slits as she dared either of them to try something else. She would throw them into next tuesday year if they did. She made a 'humph' noise before swiftly turning her back to the pair and began to preen, trying to get rid of the rest of the sand from beneath her golden feathers.

Claire sighed as she reached a slender hand up to pat her bird's crest. "Sorry, she's the most vain creature I've ever met with a temper to match." She pointedly ignored the look Odette gave her before the girl looked down at Donovan, one eyebrow raised as she put her hands on her hips. "And trust me, she's not interested. She's only interested in two things - herself, and mirrors because she can look at herself in them." Hopefully he would get the hint, but if not, at least she tried. Violet eyes looked up to Lilith, and her hands slipped to her pockets as she pondered her next words carefully. "Did you want some help training them?" She wasn't one to offer such things, but since she'd had experience training a rather difficult Pidgey before, she thought perhaps she could offer some advice at the very least. That is, if Lilith decided to accept. She could very well decline, but that'd be no skin off Claire's nose. More time to train Odette, preferably in a different room, without distractions... Especially bird distractions. Those were the worst kind...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dresdan gave a nonchalant glance at the other human as she spoke. What the girl made sense, and it was very logical, but the Pidgey had not the time nor the brains for logic or sense. As such, his only response was to huff and roll his eyes at the human. It mattered little to him if the golden Pidgeot liked him or not in the end: as long as he looked fabulous, that was all that need trouble him. The golden Pidgeot probably had crappy taste in birds anyway, Dresdan thought with a stifled chuckled. It was a bit of a shame, though: she was quite fetching. With a slight sigh, Dresdan flapped his wings and perched lightly on his own human's shoulder, nuzzling into her cheek.

Lilith gently stroked the Pidgey's head against her own and considered Claire's offer. Her first instinct was to refuse the offer: she needed no help to train her own Pokemon. Before she completely shot down the proposition, she stopped herself and thought. It would not be a bad thing to gain some knowledge into the minds of birds, as it was obvious that this woman had learned much from her own Pidgeot. It would also give Lilith a chance to learn more about the woman and her motives, as well as possibly gain an ally. Better to make friends than enemies.

"...All right. I'll accept your offer. I assume that you are well learned in the ways of taming rowdy bird Pokemon." Lilith smirked at her own remark, then continued, looking Claire in the eye. "I appreciate it."
