ive never really been a grass type fan so thats why id probably strt with either pokabu or mijumaru ^-^ and pokabus finally evolution looks awesome though mijumarus looks odd

Raylina Avalon ive never really been a grass type fan so thats why id probably strt with either pokabu or mijumaru ^-^ and pokabus finally evolution looks awesome though mijumarus looks odd 1st time I hear that, I frikking hate pokabu and more its final evo, worst starter ever. plus, its stats spread suck balls

Actually, the sad thing for me is the fire starter is YET ANOTHER Fire/Fighting pokemon. Why are the fire starters also fighting type, now? Emboar has the best stats out of the three, with the Water final evolution right behind it. That makes me sad, 'cause the grass starter actually LOOKS cool.
However, I don't plan on using any of the starters. I'll use their Monkey counterparts, the Fighting Clown, the Goth Psychic, and the Steel Ant.

the grass could be a great tank with nice offense, but grass type is worst type ever.
the fire one is too slow with poor defs and can be easily OHKO by any sweeper with stab aqua jet w/e
so, the water type remains the best in this gen too.

Except the fire type has too much HP to be beaten by anything THAT easily. MAYBE a STAB Waterfall from a DD'd Gyarados, but that's pretty strong anyways. It's the appearance and Typing that makes it horrible. Grass is an OK type, it's bad as a defensive type, but it's got a solid offense as a Special Attack STAB. I'd say Poison is the worst type.
Personally, the only water starter I like is Totodile, Croconaw, and feraligatr. Charmander/Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil/Totodile, Don't use a starter, Turtwig, Smugleaf are the starters I use, in order by Gen.

for offensive poison is the worst type. its more of a support.
for example, Drapion Dark/poison only weakness is ground x2
and I prefer a grass/poison than only grass lol

i used turtwig (since i forgot one of the gyms was a ice type he got hit hard but still won on first try thanks to honch and other members) hopefully when i get hg/ss there isn't a ice gym (forgot if there is one there)

Seriously? My Torterra THRASHED the ice gym, even though he had a x4 weakness to it. They're mostly abomasnows, which are ice/grass, I think. Meganium destroys Pryce mainly because his pokemon are all either ice/water or ice/ground, so you hit for neutral.
I recently started over my Diamond, but I had beaten the elite 4 and my only two pokemon above level 19 were a sicty-somethign Torterra and a 36 Kricketune (Double battles leveled her up)
