After the strange conversation she'd had the night before with a hare she'd met out on the ruins, Gella knew what she had to do. Though she loved gemstones and always would, something else was calling to her. Gella hoped Toad would be receptive to the idea. She really did.

Gella wanted to start a family of their own.

They were promised to one another, properly in the eyes of the pride, and happier than they'd ever been. But Gella couldn't help feeling as if something was missing from their lives. She wanted to be a mother, and badly. She very much wanted Toad to be as excited by the prospect as she was, and so she set out looking for her beloved, her mind weighted heavily by her thoughts.

Laying outside of their den, the Toad as he was happily called by his adoring mate lay on his back with all four paws in the air. His toes played about towards the skids, looking as if he was moulding something format he whispy clouds above. He wasn't but it was a game he used to play as a cub, one he continued to this day, occasionally, moulding the clouds until you found a shape.

His eyes squinted against the bright blue sky and a smile was plastered on his maw. He remembered being a cub, he had very much enjoyed being a cub, it was one of the happiest times of his whole life. Of course nothing could beat now, he had Gella now, now was the greatest time of his life.

Gella instinctively moved towards the den she shared with her mate. If he wasn't there, he was likely out hunting, and if that was the case the conversation that Gella wanted to have with Toad would have to wait. Luckily, she spotted him as she moved closer to the large, fluffy fellow. Her muzzle broke into a smile as she caught sight of him. On his back, paws in the air. Almost as he was the first time they'd met, except this time he was doing something with the clouds. Her silly Toadie, finding the strangest ways to entertain himself.

"Toad!" She called out to him, not wanting to startle him. She drew closer, laughing, "What are you doing?"

Syrius Lionwing
The big male tilted his head slightly and grinned a wide, silly grin at his mate. Holding out his fore arms to her he encourages her closer. "Come and lie with me and I'll show you Gella." He smiles his big goofy grin at her, a grin complimented by the deep adoration in his dark eyes.

He waited quietly laying his one forearm closer to the ground so she could lay on her back with her head resting on his perfectly comfortable arm.

Gella moved to accomodate her Toadie, resting beside him with her back on the ground. She too lifted her paws in the air to mimic Toad, waiting for his next instruction. Before meeting Toad, she'd have never thought to take a moment from her day to rest on her back with her paws in the air, but now it seemed like the most natural thing to do. Spending time with him, sometimes it seemed even more important than looking for gems. Sometimes.

Bufonidae chuckled lightly. He knew she found it odd to do his little things. He had spent a lot of his youth being ordered around, taking orders and any moment spare he spent dreaming. "Okay, now see the clouds? You have to mould them until you get a good picture okay? " he nuzzles her cheek and demonstrates moving his paws about, seemingly moving the clouds, though really he was just moving his paws to different places. "There, theres a hare in the clouds now do you see?" He beams his dark eyes fixed on the space between his paws.

Gella laughed. "I see the hare," she whispered, trying to mold something herself. "I.. I have a giraffe. See it?" Gella could hardly see it herself, but it was fun and it humored Toad. She grew serious after a moment of play and while still resting against his side, she turned her head to gaze at him. "Toad, I have something I want to talk with you about, love." She wasn't sure how to bring it up, so she decided that being straightforward and honest about things would be the best way to go about it.

Syrius Lionwing
Toad chuckled, she found much better things than he did and he was amused by that. Gella was ever so smart! Her serious tone of voice snapped him out of his silly playtime and he turned his head to gaze at her. "Of course Gella. Anything." He smiles and licks her nose, a sweetly silly smile on his maw as usual.

Gella remained silent for a moment before blurting out what she wanted to say. "IwanttostartafamilywithyouToad," she mashed out, the words sticking together as if their lives depended on it. Gella squeezed her eyes closed and kept them that way before creaking one open in order to gaze at Toad. She wouldn't know how he felt about her desires otherwise, and she hoped he wanted the same things she did. She remained quiet, one eye open only the slightest, and waited for him to respond.

Syrius Lionwing
It took a good few moments for Toad to pull apart the swiftly blurted out heap of words. She wanted a family? He contemplated this for a long, silent moment before asking a question. "Like the pride?" He raised a brow, he could be very silly at times, he smiles broadly. "The pride is our family right?" He blinks owlishly, he wasn't sure that was what she meant but he needed clarification. "You want to move closer to other pride members?"

pinchmonster
Oh, dear. This wasn't going how she'd planned. Gella squeezed her eyes shut again before opening them and turning to face Toad a bit more. "No, I mean.. well, yes, the pride is our family. They've been very good to us! But.. I want us to have cubs, Toadie. Our own family." A blush tinted her ear tips, and it was visible even through the fur that covered her ears. "I want to be a mother, and I want you to be a father." Hopefully he would 'get it' - she didn't know what else she could say to help him understand, although she supposed she really wasn't clear when she first told him what she wanted.

Syrius Lionwing
The Toad's face looked blank, his dark eyes looking deeply in to Gella's, his face soon turns to a smile though and then very quickly in to a foolish grin. "OHH" He says a chuckle rolling over his lips. "Well you should have said that, where do we get them from? I like cubs, I was a cub once. I used to play the cloud game when I was younger. Do you think our cubs will want to play the cloud game?" He beams, his deep onyx eyes fixed curiously on Gella.

pinchmonster
Oh.. oh dear. Ohhh dear. "Where do you... get them?" Gella squeaked. Oh.. this, well.. this kind of put an odd twist on things. "You don't know where cubs come from, Toadie?" Gella knew. Not from experience, no, no. But from talking with others, seeing pregnant lionesses. It didn't take long for Gella to put two and two together and come up with how cubs were created. Gella just wasn't sure how to tell Toad that you had to MAKE cubs, you didn't just... get them. She huffed, still in a slight state of shock. "I.. I bet they will want to play the cloud game but.."

Syrius Lionwing
Bufinidae grins a very wide grin "Ohyes! Mama told me about the birds and the bees when I was younger. She said when a boy lion and a girl lion" He pauses and seemingly, a lightbulb switches on in the big males head "..Oh..Ohhh.. Right..Yes.." The Toad grins foolishly his cheeks flushing red under his grey fur. He clears his throat, of course he had spoken before he knew what he was talking about as usual and because of it he had made a fool of himself.

He leans forwards and licks her nose. "We can make cubs. I'd like cubs with you." He grins a very embarrassed grin and pulls Gella against his chest. "I'm sorry i'm so silly Gella. You wanna be a mama and I will be happy to be a papa!"

pinchmonster
Gella snorted at the hilarity of the entire situation. Her Toadie had the strangest ways of making her laugh and smile. "You are silly, Toad, but I love you anyway." She grinned at her beloved mate, nuzzling under his chin. "It will be an adventure we will go on together. I think we will make a lovely family of our own." She was excited. It had taken her a long, long time to find her Toadie and she was eager to start their own family. Part of her was afraid of the responsibility, but part of her looked forward to being a mother, to having Toad's cubs.

"You will be a great papa, and I will be the best mama I can be."
