Being new to the pride was hard work, he had to learn, he had to hunt and he had to protect Gella too. Of course, he didn't mind, he loved the pride, it had become home very quickly, a place that he could be with Gella, where they were safe and when they wer't learning they could search for the shinies she loved so much.
The sun was quite high as he emerged from the temples, making his slow way towards the watering hole. He was thirsty and he really neeeded a good long drink and a nap before his lessons continued for the day.

She often lay in the shadows of the temples, keeping the promise and the rules that her mother had set her from a very young age. Naunet had always been confined to the shadows waiting for someone to come in from the sun to play with her. This didn't make her anti social, just a little lonely really. Her pale fur had always confined her to the shadows and as she god older the shadows seemed to shrink further and further.
Now at adolecent she wanted to be out and about but she still felt under her mothers influence so confined herself to the shadows.

Plodding through the shadows the big grey and purple male smiled at the young female sitting in the shadows. "Hello." He rumbles, his voice deep a silly smile on his face. "I don't think I know you." He sits in the sand a slight sandy cloud rising around his butt as he wags his tail.
He was a gentle giant and a friendly face to anyone and this young lioness seemed to be alone, which made him sad. Maybe he could lighten her mood if only for a moment.

Naunet lifted her head as the big male plodded towards her, of course, she hadn't really expected him to stop and speak to her, but when he did she smiled brightly, her soft pink eyes settling happily on the big extra fluffy male. She wondered if it was very hot under that fluff but shook away the thought quickly.
"Oh. no we have never met before. My name is n
Naunet." She smiles bowing her head to the large purple maned male.

Bufonidae grins brightly. "I didn't think so. My name is Bufonidae, but everyone just calls me Toad and you can to if you like." He wags his big long tail like a happy very large dopey dog.
"Why are you sitting here all alone Naunet?" he questions, slight concern in his voice he didn't like to see anyone alone.

Naunet sighs lightly. "My mother was always afraid that I would get burned out there so I'v lived in the shadows for most for my life." She flickers her tail a little sadly. She didn't much like being in the shadows all the time, but the nerves of her mother had transferred to her, even as an adol.
"I don't mind really, I just have to wait for later before I go for a drink or hunt. It's easier at night any way."

Bufonidae looks deeply thoughtful. It must have been lonely for the young female, he decided living in the shade all the time. "Well, it's kinda cool today, why do't you come with me and if you get too hot you can sit in my shadow." he grins broadly, his gentle onyx eyes dancing happily.
"I'm going to the watering hole for a drink before I go back inside for a nap."

Naunet beams, her soft pink eyes fixed on the large male. "Really, you would do that?" she flickers her tail. This male, he was so nice, she usually spent all of her time in the shade during the day.
"I'd like to go to the watering hole." She giggles getting to her paws and flickering her tail happily. It would be nice to be out and about during broad daylight.

The toad grins and nods "Come on, lets go." He wrinkles his nose and pads off towards the watering hole, slowing his pace so the smaller, younger lioness could keep up with his pace.
"So, you were born here huh? I only joined recently with my very best friend Gella."

Naunet smiles softly, picking up her paws so as to keep up better with the big grey male. She nods. "Yes, I was born here, me and my siblings were born in the pride."
She giggles lightly. "I have never seen the rogue lands. My mother was born out there though she says that these lands are the greatest lands that she has ever seen. I love it here. It's home."
"Gella? Is she your mate?"

Bufonidae smiles. "Your mother is right. I have never been any where as wonderful as this." He nods. "There is so much to learn though. It's hard work." He chuckles flikcering his tail in a pleased manner.
"Oh..uhm.." The big male flushes a little his cheeks burning beneath his grey fur. "Well..Gella is very special to me." He smiles, he knew how he felt about Gella but he had never told her, not yet any way.

Naunet giggles happily, her small ears folding against her head. The way that the older male spoke of this female 'Gella' told her everything. He loved her deeply, he just hadn't told her. She sighed happily. She hoped that one day she would have a mate. One day.
The pale lioness looks ahead of them, admiring the lands in the sun. It was wonderful out here enjoying the heat, dashing occasionally in to the shadow of the larger lion.

Bufonidae looks down at the little pale female and smiles drawing to a stop at the pool, he dips his head and drinks deeply, his back warming in the sun. "I'm sorry I can't take you further, but I'm tired." he grins and sits back up stretching out his thick limbs. "I need to get back to Gella before she sleeps."
He looks at his toes bashfully, his dark eyes turned down away from the pale female.

"Thats okay. It was nice, to come out. I think, I think i will stay out for a while." She smiles and looks out across the pool. "i think, it's time I stopped being afraid of everything." She folds her ears tightly against her head.
"Thank you though, for letting me come with you."

The toad smiles and nods. "It was good meeting you Naunet." He smiles turning towards the temples. He had to get back to Gella. "You be careful now, don't stay in the sun too long." He smiles running off back to Gella.
He knew that soon he would soon admit to Gella that he loved her. He kew he loved her. He hoped she loved him. The short run back to the temples cleared his head and as he entered the darkness. He was glad he could run freely in the sun, especially when it was with Gella.
