She needed a project, and she needed a large one. How many centuries had it been since one of the good-for-nothing major gods had tried to rebel against Zeus? If she partnered with someone of the major deities then she'd be off her leash and the Litae would have little to no power in stopping her.
But who would she side with...that was the question. As the goddess sat in a large, generously stuffed chair, she draped her leg over the arm and leaned her head back lazily while she imagined the chaos that would ensue from another rebellion. The wine in her hand was heavenly-no pun intended-a gift from Dionysus for having helped stir up some trouble for one of his enemies. Ate had been able to have some fun and be paid for it generously. The wine had yet to run out, and if he kept his word or didn't forget, Dionysus had assured her that it never would.
Her red eyes flitted around the room...it was large, the largest in the mansion...but it was also devoid of company. She had no servants, no mortals 'save the gardeners who cared for the grounds. She didn't need anyone to clean up after her. A snap of her fingers would do that...but Ate had never been gifted with nature.
She stood with a flurry of movement, managing not to spill the wine lingering in her goblet as she began to pace. The only way to keep her sanity in moods like this was to think back on times long gone. All the fun she had in the ancient world...men were more easily goaded into trouble then...they were not so worried about appearance or keeping a smile on their faces.
Honor meant their lives...their rights were worth fighting for-dying for. Now it was all politics and Ate hated politics. She remembered Troy and the Trojan war...Odyseus and his journey...ancient heroes that toppled cities...Even Hercules...the reason she had been cast down, had served as beautiful entertainment along with adding an extra stab to Zeus' heart.
An evil smile graced her lips at the thought. She spent the rest of the night drinking her wine and remembering.

Ate was drunk, but not nearly drunk enough. Four empty wine bottles lay strewn about the floor where she'd dropped them carelessly after having drained them. Her vision was slightly blurred and her thoughts just vague enough to keep her from focussing on any one or another for long enough to take any action that would be rash-even for her.
"To you, oh mighty Zeus..." she lifted a glass to the ceiling, sarcasm dripping from her sneering face before she tossed the wine into the fire. With a curse, the girl stood to her feet, wobbling a little before managing to keep her full balance.
"I wish you dreams and memories in your heavenly city...dream of me and all your other offspring failures." With that, Ate left the lounge and made her way to her bed room.

Ate appeared in her lounge and stretched like a cat before dropping her arms at her sides and going to fall down on her couch. It had been a good day.
...Other than that strange meeting with Psyche. That goddess was so on the list of people to torture now. Ate cracked her neck and stretched her fingers in and out...imagining them around Psyche's neck. It seemed as though she suspected something...but then, the whole of Olympus probably assumed Ate worked with or for Hades...She rolled her red eyes and flipped over onto her back, putting the thought out of her mind.
For now, she had to plan what other ways to get the ball rolling on her Uncle's plan...

Prometheus Prometheus raised one hand and rapped a knuckle on the large entry doors. To his surprise, however, the great wooden door swung open of its own accord, revealing a rather stunningly decorated lounge area, complete with elaborate chandaliers and what Prometheus remembered was old European style furniture.
"Well, Ate, you certainly haven't been wasting your time." His rich, melodious voice reached the far ends of the room flawlessly, though despite the room's size it seemed to be empty for the moment.
Prometheus' otherwise impassive face twitched slightly; he hoped she wasn't holding his absence against him. It was true he hadn't been around in... well, quite some time, if he hadn't seen this style of furniture back when it was fresh. But to a god (he was close enough to one), what was a few... ah... centuries between such a pair?
Of course, she might well have simply not been at this particular home right now. "May I assume this magnificent mansion is empty, then, or should I bother to search you out...?" He spoke as if Ate was nearby; for all he knew she was.I have planned for everything, so why are they always surprised when I see it coming?

╔════════════════╗ ↭Goddess of Ruin↭ ╚════════════════╝ Some Fall from Heaven The young goddess had appeared in her entry way, wanting to enjoy the decor of her home on the way to her chambers...at least, that had been her plan before she froze mid step. Suddenly changing from her human form to her natural one of leather armor and studded jewelry, Ate felt every muscle in her body tense as her sense went on overdrive.
There was a god in her home...Her head tilted to one side as she sniffed the air...Not quite a god...a little more than a god...
After her recent alliance with Hades, she was wary of any strangers to enter uninvited...who knew what creature or immortal would think they had rights to her or her abode within allegiances? She drew her blades from their sheathes at her thighs and made her way carefully down the hall. Some are Thrown

Prometheus Prometheus turned as he caught the faint sound of metal against metal, and stepped sideways out of the entryway to the lounge. He wasn't sure who it was, but given that this was Ate's domain, and the last time he checked (which was admittedly a fair while ago) most gods avoided directly antagonizing Ate, it wasn't likely to be a thief... and if it was, well, he or she deserved what they got. Ate was the goddess of making you have a very bad day, after all...
Well, then, it was likely Ate herself, or someone who knew where she was... or at least, he hoped so. Prometheus carefully pitched his voice so it would carry both in the lounge and down the hall. "Ate? Is that you?"I have planned for everything, so why are they always surprised when I see it coming?

╔════════════════╗ ↭Goddess of Ruin↭ ╚════════════════╝ Some Fall from Heaven In her mind, Ate was going over every possible method she could use to ruin the life of whoever it was that dared trespass in her palace. She could be very creative.
She had gone invisible after drawing her blades and made it halfway down the hall before the voice called out and a form filled the area just outside her entry-way. Ate's jaw dropped and her eyes widened at the sight. Her immortal stomach turned within her and her hands went limp at her sides, allowing the daggers they held to fall with a clang to the floor.
"Pro-Prometheus?" She stammered. How long had it been since she last saw him? Last heard him say her name? How many centuries since he had forgotten her? But then, he was quite nearly ageless...as old if not older than even Hestia...so what was time to him...He wasn't banished to be alone amongst these accursed mortals.
She shook her head, her form coming back to full visibility and she ran for him. Some are Thrown

Prometheus Prometheus could've sworn he was looking at an empty hallway, before two rather loud clangs sounded nearby (the god-that-wasn't-quite-a-god noticed that unlike the lounge, the entrance hall was very good at echoing sounds), and he heard his name.
A rare smile began to form on Prometheus' face, that was definitely Ate's voice, though he'd rarely heard it so shocked... perhaps it had been longer than he thought.
However, he was rather quickly brought back from his musings when Ate suddenly appeared in front of him, running toward him with disbelief in her eyes.
The developing grin Prometheus sported erupted fully as the goddess reached him, and the god of forethought spun on one heel to prevent her momentum from knocking them both over. He caught her with both arms, holding her close and burying his face in her hair. "Ate... Ate..."I have planned for everything, so why are they always surprised when I see it coming?

╔════════════════╗ ↭Goddess of Ruin↭ ╚════════════════╝ Some Fall from Heaven Ate fell against him, wrapping her arms around his waist and drinking in the scent of his cologne through his shirt. Delighting in the feel of his arms crushing her to him and the sound of his voice saying her name, the way it rumbled through his chest.
"Where have you been?" She asked, her voice choking with a sob that forced back tears. "It's been over five hundred years!" The tears threatened to come then...for after the first hundred she had given up...tried to push him from her mind and memory...and heart. But now that he was here...actually here...she felt all those years come rushing back...and she couldn't deny watching through the windows and doors as her heart hoped he would return. Or how she absently searched for him wherever she went. Some are Thrown

Prometheus Prometheus winced slightly as he heard Ate's sob, and shifted one hand to the back of her head. He replied softly, stroking her hair as he held her. "I'm sorry, Ate... I'm afraid I got rather held up somewhere..."
He was speaking mostly into her hair at this point, but he didn't really notice, and doubted Ate would care one way or another. Perhaps that... adventure (ugh, what a word. Makes him sound like some silly Greek hero, not a proper... well, he wasn't a Titan exactly, nor a true god. Ah, he was something, and not a silly hero, that's what counted) was a lot harder on her than it'd been on him.
Just how long had he been gone...?
I have planned for everything, so why are they always surprised when I see it coming?

╔════════════════╗ ↭Goddess of Ruin↭ ╚════════════════╝ Some Fall from Heaven Ate shook her head and pulled away, breaking the hug but keeping a firm hold of his hand. She lead him into the lounge room and sat down on the couch, facing him.
She shook her head again, "It doesn't matter. I'm only glad you're back!" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, drinking in the feel of his presence. "You'll never believe what has happened in the last few days...all my boredom and loneliness seems to be fading away to let my luck turn for a change!" She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, sitting on the couch on her knees so she wouldn't pull him forward.
"I have so much to tell you!" She released him and sat back again. "But how are you? Are you all right? Are you hungry? Did you miss me?" The questions poured out of her in a rush, the last, however, was asked with a flirty, excited giggle as her red eyes bore into his, not wanting to blink in case it was all some cruel dream from Morpheus. Prometheus Prometheus' grin never faded as he sat down and Ate's bubbly side made itself known. How the Goddess of Ruin could have such a happy persona was beyond him, but he loved it anyway.
"It's been an interesting... few centuries. I'm quite fine, though-" He paused and made a show of sniffing the air. "I smell wine... has Dionysus been around recently?" He turned a somewhat teasingly eager expression to her, knowing that where Dionysus went, exceptional wine had a habit of being found...
I have planned for everything, so why are they always surprised when I see it coming?
