Slit cat like eyes stared out into a meadow from the dark forest. the early morning cold still clung to the grass making it wet and crisp. from the shadows Kagali watched the few creatures that were awake this early. she stood dangerously motionless, her coat blending perfectly in the shadows. she stood with her shoulder hidden behind a tree so that her bright snake marking would not be spotted. it was this annoying marking that had gotten her spotted last time. she hd been following a lost foal for two days, undetected, until the foal saw the mark.
Kagali was in search of a new target. someone to shadow and watch. it wasent an easy task picking targets. she had to be careful not to follow someone who would find her easily. or heaven forbid she followed someone who was boring and offered no entertainment. she flicked her ear trying to swat off the early morning bugs that had gathered.

It was early morning, cool and damp- so even beneath the tree he'd slept under, Neve was also cool and damp- not his favorite state- and now that he was awake, he couldn't ignore it. He got to his feet and gave a good shake from his nose from his tail, stretching and refolding his wings, stepping into the sun and spreading them. There was nothing in this forest he feared, frankly. But perhaps he could find something interesting... green eyes flicked along the edge of the clearing. Nothing but shadows.

Kagali scanned the edge of the field, nothing moving but birds. her eyes snapped to a great horned male that entered the clearing. she almost gasped at his physical features. he was obvious kalona, like her father he had the wings and horns, but the feet were wrong. and what was that horn doing sticking out of his forhead? her keen eyes scanned him over. she silently laughed at his adornments. why would someone want to bother with fancy clothes and robes?
a slight breeze brought his scent to her. at least he smelled nice. much better than when she was following someone from the swamps. Kagali thought that this would be the perfect target. he looked classy and she beat that he had some distinguished friends. those soquili who thought themselves better than others because of clothing of fancy adornments were always fun to follow. the breeze shifted slightly. now her scent was being carried into the field. alarmed, Kagali shot further into the forest, hoping that the dampness would hide her. she found a thick bush and threw herself into it. crap thorn bush. oh well. anything was better than losing her cover.

There was a movement, and a flight of birds- something bigger than a squirrel was moving in those shadows. His nostrils flared catching the scent on the wind.
something bigger than a squirrel indeed. Someone was out there. Someone who didn't want to be seen, or he would have spotted them, and that made them all the more intresting to his veiw. If they were of a hostile temperament, he would have many choices- to talk them out of their plan of action, which was always fun, to fight- fun in it's own way, or to flee, giving a good story to make those of tender hearts take him in.
If they were merely curious or shy, there were other games to be had. But before those games could be had, he would have to coax them out, since there was no fun to be had in a conversation with oneself, that was, after all, why he was about in these lush forests.

Kagali watched from the bush, its prickly thorns scratched her, but not deep. she winced as she picked up his scent again. it was hard to decipher based on the scent were he was through this thick bush, but she knew he wasent behind her. Kagali watched absolutely motionless as he passed by her. when the strange Kalona male was ahead she slowly and silently crept out and followed him ducking behind trees to avoid being seen. the scent of that darn thorn bush still clung to her, along with some of the thorns. she gasped as she ducked behind a tree and accidently pushed a thorn deeper into her side. crap, did he hear me? she sat quietly behind the tree waiting to see if she would be found.

Neve's ear flicked despite the lack of sound beyond the movement of trees in the wind, and his nostrils flared again.
something was bleeding.
not a great deal, but it was definitely blood. He cocked his head and looked around, eyes moveing back and forth thoughtfully.

Kagali sighed. now with this blood he would find her sooner or later. she stepped out from behind the tree and into his line of sight. she desperately hopped that he would not go into some Kalona blood frenzy and try and eat her. if that was the case she was relying on her speed to escape. "hello there." she smiled at him as she looked him over admiring his unique features.

Ah. So this was the elusive creature. A dainty dish indeed. Neve smiled arching his neck, but not moving closer. "Hello yourself," He bowed to her, front leg stretching out in front of him. He flicked a wing. "What a pleasure to meet someone out here. I hope I'm not intruding into your personal range in my wanderings."
