BIO:Neku was shot and killed by Joshua before the start of the Reaper's game by mistake when Joshua tryed to kill Sho Minamimoto, his entrance fee into the game was his memory. When he awoke in the scramble crossing, he had no apparent idea what was going on, he eventually met up with someone named Shiki, he became her partner during that week, slowly learning about the rules of the game and becoming less anti-social, Neku and Shiki met up with Beat and Rhyme soon, and Neku completely disregarded having friends due to them holding him back, eventually Beat's partner Rhyme was erased by the reapers, and Beat was forced to go with Mr. H in order to survive the effects of being separated from Rhyme who sacrificed him/herself to save him(can't tell the difference.) leaving Shiki and Neku to kill the noise that attacked Rhyme.
Shiki eventually revealed that her entrance fee was her real body for a girl named Eri's who was her friend. The GM of the first week tried to bring her down, but on the six day of the Reaper's game, Shiki actually noticed Eri in Scramble Crossing, unfortunately Eri had said that Shiki should quit designing, this apparently left her with guilt as Shiki apparently was killed in an accident. On the seventh day, Neku and Shiki met the Game Master and defeated him, thus erasing him from existence. Beat joined the Reapers, and Shiki was the only one who was allowed to come back to life. Neku was forced to play the game once more with Shiki being his entry fee. Neku met up with Yoshiya Kiryu or Joshua as he called himself. They met at the statue of Hachiko and made a pact with each other, though Neku seemed extremely annoyed around him. Neku would find that Joshua wasn't a normal player as he could scan his thoughts, this made him suspicious. Sho fought Neku and Joshua on the seventh day of that week, but not without a cost, Sho Minamimoto unleashed his level I flare which apparently obliterated him and Joshua. Joshua pushed Neku away, but Neku would have to play a third time due to Joshua still being alive, which violated the rules of the game. Neku's entry fee this time was all of the other players, meaning Neku couldn't form any pacts or stand any chance against the Noise. However, Beat immediately defected from the Reapers and rejoined Neku. Neku and Beat find that the Reapers and the entire population of Shibuya are wearing special red pins that cause them to think the same harmonious thoughts. Without any missions to complete, the two venture to the fabled "Shibuya River", which Joshua was looking for during the second week. At the river, they find Megumi Kitaniji (北虹 寵, Kitaniji Megumi?, キタニジ Kitaniji), the Game's Conductor. Kitaniji explains that he created the red pins in an attempt to remake Shibuya, which the Composer challenged him to do; if he fails, both he (for losing) and Shibuya will be erased.[16][17]
At that moment, Joshua reappears and reveals himself to be the Composer. Joshua returns the missing part of Neku's memory of death: Joshua himself shot Neku, choosing him to be his proxy in his challenge with Kitaniji. Minamimoto, who had been trying to usurp the position of Composer, was trying to kill Joshua in his weakened state as a human. After failing to defeat Neku by using his friends against him, Joshua gives Neku one last challenge: To fire upon Joshua to determine the fate of Shibuya. Neku is too conflicted to make a choice, and is shot down by Joshua.[18] Neku finds himself once again at the scramble crossing, confused by events, but alive this time.
The game's credits show scenes seven days later in the RG. As Neku walks from Udagawa to Hachiko to meet Beat, Rhyme, and Shiki, he discusses how the past three weeks have changed him for the better. In a statement directed at an absent Joshua, Neku says that although he won't forgive him for what he has done, he trusts him. Neku then asks if Joshua will be present at Hachiko as well.[19] Secret reports that can be obtained by completing additional missions after beating the game reveal that Joshua, after seeing the change in personality of Neku over the weeks of playing the game, decides to spare Shibuya, now believing the city to be ideal.[20] -the rest was copied from WIKIPEDIA.

With the sudden infestation of Taboo Noise, and other creatures being sealed within the UG by Joshua, some reapers decided to tamper with what the Composer did, however this wasn't a feeble attempt, they were trying to get the UG to fuse with the RG in order to seek on their prey for the games again, which was completely unauthorized by the angel commitee, Neku finally remembering everything began to travel home...that is until the Noise broke through his world and began to erase people, like Joshua, Neku isn't dead...at least not anymore, his original entry fees are as followed:

- Week 3: Making Pacts with other players
