About Hazahra:
'Zahra inherited the property from her grandmother, who had raised her from a puppy. The land had been in the family for a long while, and her grandmother had tended it with loving care. They were proud to be citizens of the well-to-do city of Prussia, even if they only lived in a humble hut. Even so, her grandmother had taken great pains with the garden, encouraging the vines to grow strong and healthy and keeping the orange tree well tended.

'Zahra's mother had wanted nothing to do with gardening or the city she'd grown up in. The last straw was when some dashing hound from Zanzibar had wooed her, then left her when he found out she was pregnant. After Hazahra was born, her mother had left the puppy in her grandmother's care and left, never to be seen again. By the time 'Zahra knew this, her dear grandmother had come to terms with her grief, and raised 'Zahra with all the love a grandmother should.

It wasn't long ago now that the little old hound had died, passing on the property, the garden, and the responsibilities to Hazahra. Unfortunately, the elderly slave cat had also died shortly after her grandmother, leaving her to tend things on her own. Soon she will need to travel to Zanzibar to buy herself a new slave and pick up the life she has gladly chosen to be her own.
