Things are never as they seem. Take the Carded, a tarot café that sits on a busy street corner. The café is completely out of sync with the buildings around it, having stood there for at least a century. The inside of the café is cozy and many of it's regulars only come in for a cup of coffee and some food. Not that many get a reading from the café's strange owner, a man named Dreizehn. The reading takes time and people rarely have time to sit for an hour or two, learning of what may come. Most assume that it's a silly trick. Those that have had their readings done know different. Dreizehn's card deck can predict with deadly accuracy...anything.

Carded doesn't cater only humans, however. It may have something to do with Dreizehn's own strange history--he never met his father but his mother often spoke of the man as being one of the night visitors to the café. Those night visitors tend to be demonic in nature. Dreizehn never had a problem with those that come during the night, only looking to have their cards read. It was an uneventful life for Dreizehn on the whole.

And then he made a mistake. Apart from being tied to his card deck--to the point where people have said that he is the omnipotent one--Dreizehn enjoys being...intimately affectionate with people and is usually dominant in his relationships. One night out, however, Dreizehn managed to get into a fight with a stranger. One thing led to another and the tarot reader woke up the next morning aching all over from what must have been a violent night, nude and one wrist in a handcuff attached to a bedpost. Never seeing the stranger again made him put it out of his mind. One night being submissive wasn't the end of the world.

Two weeks later his cards informed him that he was pregnant.

Now Dreizehn is doing whatever he can to find the man that caused his...his...condition. He's a little desparate but being pregnant and his own personality makes him stubborn in all aspects of his life. What he doesn't know is that the night that left him pregnant had been planned out by a demon, [ X ], that has been watching him for a while, assuming he was purely human. [ X ] has no idea that he's left Dreizehn pregnant. But he does intend to take Dreizehn with him and break the stubborn man into a proper submissive partner.

But how will [ X ] take becoming a father?

Username: c e r a - f i n n

Name: Dreizehn Aurora Zeit

Age/Apparent Age: 22

Race: Half-human

USS: Generally seme, but he always ends up as the uke for one person

Personality: Dreizehn is a fairly carefree person. He doesn't think of consequences and just plows straight ahead. There's a part of him that seems to enjoy trouble, in fact. Nothing for Dreizehn is more freeing that a little bit of trouble. At the café he remains calm and collected, not wanting to lose any business, but later? He's plotting his next escapade. Apart from that he's a stubborn and selfish man--he won't do anything he doesn't want to but he has a weakness to touches and kisses that'll make him a little easier to handle, but not by much.

History: Born to a single mother, Dreizehn grew up mainly under the care of his grandmother. He spent most of his childhood between the café with his mother, learning about the strange powers of the card deck. During his teens, his mother married and intended to close down the café but Dreizehn took it over. He has fond memories of the café and didn't want to see its doors shut. Not that he expected those fond memories to end with a pregnancy...

Username: Spiral Insanity

Name: Zarek, goes by 'Z'

Age/Apparent Age: 27

Race: Demon

USS:Dominant Seme all the way.

Personality:Z has never been the type to just rush into things. No the demon has always been the type to think things through, and weight out both the cons and pros. He hates the idea being reckless, for the consequences that usually follow are too much to be bothered with. His disposition is one of quiet, reserved creature. He has usually has little to input, but when fired up he will do anything in his power to prove himself right. Z despise authority figures, and will rebel if he feels that one believes they have him tamed.

History:Zerek's life isn't one worth mentioning, not many know of the demon's past for he hardly speaks of it. The knowledge that the few selected people have of his past is that both his parents were not the kindest parental figures, and that he broke free from their chains at an early age. Humans would call it the adolescent years, but he was already hundred or so years old by the time he broke free. For a while he just lived life as a rebel, a reckless one, and got into many unnecessary fights earning him a name in the nocturnal world. His name spread around and many powerful demons have been wanting to take him under their power.

Dreizehn sighed softly as he cleaned the counter of the café. His cute part-timer should be doing the work right now, but he'd monopolized enough of the boy's time. The last thing he wanted was for his part-timer's parents to come down and see what he'd been monopolizing the boy's time with. A smirk curved onto his lips at the thought. A relationship with someone still considered a minor was against many rules, but Dreizehn had never bothered with those things. He had his own life, rules be damned, and he wasn't interested in what others thought about him. What they said could be highly damaging, however. The smirk faded at that thought. Carded had nearly shut down when he was a child, just because people had no idea who his father was. And it was starting again, pinning the blame on the b*****d child for not allowing the area to properly move into the new century.

Idiots. Dreizehn stretched, finished with all the cleaning. They were all idiots. Just because he was different, because this café was different, they were tossing judgements. Not that he was going to deny that Carded was stuck with past ideas, differing from the other establishments in the area. But those past ideas were very true here. Carded catered to a far different clientele once the moon rose. And a new one was coming tonight--one Dreizehn had never met before. But there were always new ones. The cards said it was important but Dreizehn couldn't see how. The newcomer wouldn't try anything out of the norm. They all knew what would happen if the cards got offended. Or at least Dreizehn hoped they did. The cards could be impish little liars when they choose to be. Like now. The top card on the deck had a little exclamation mark in red ink decorating the front. The cards efforts didn't stop Dreizehn from scowling. "Oh hush you. Nothing's going to happen. Our guest has never seen such a deck as you. Be on your best behavior!" The card's exclamation mark disappeared in favor of a blank face and Dreizehn sighed.

Stupid deck. What were they thinking he needed to be warned about? It was just a reading. Nothing more, nothing less. Dreizehn hummed under his breathe as he went to check if the guest had arrived. True, the guest was some sort of demon, but what's the worst that could happen? Death?

"I still don't understand what you seem in him."

Emerald eyes danced with mysteriousness,"Why should it matter to you."

"a*****e." Was the growled response. A chuckle bubbled past the demon's lips, finding the whole situation amusing. He crossed his legs, intimidating all the lesser demons passing by. The creature across the powerful demon sighed, he would get nowhere with this method of questioning. If he kept questioning, all he would receive is another question. That was annoying trait the great 'Z' possessed. Someone needs to knock it out of him, the demon thought grumbling.

"I'm leaving."

Eyes the color of molten lava looked up, questions piling up in the gaze. The white-haired creature only smirked, before bending down to flick the younger demon's forehead. He smoothly stood up and glided toward the door, "If anyone ask about my where abou-"

"Yeah, yeah," a hand appeared waving off the demon like a pesky parent, "Tell them it ain't their business."

The demon nodded, giving the young one a downgrading smirk, and a little praise. "Good boy." A an angered yell and the sound of something being thrown was the last thing Zerek heard before heading out. The powerful demon stepped into the welcoming embrace of the night, and naturally slid into the shadows.

It didn't take long for the powerful demon to find the small cafe, it really didn't fit in with the modern era. Z wondered for a moment if that was the reason the little human inside was so drawn to it, or was there a deeper reason behind it. Waving off those trival thoughts, he jumped down from the building, his face totally composed at the landing. It didn't even seem like that took an effort, then again being demon came with certain requirements. Never show anyone how you are really feeling.

Feelings, and emotions they were like the trigger to a gun. Show them and the life of a demon becomes unbearably more difficult. Keeping them hidden, the weight off difficultly is slightly lifted, and lastly manipulate them to your advantage and you are the king. It was a skill not many had the chance to master, but it is a skill that is one of the most beneficial to becoming a demon lord.

Shooing off those thoughts, the demon causally blended in with the human race. It didn't take long for him to arrive at the small cafe, his burning curiosity motivated the male's hand to open the door. Taking a glance at the moon, he quickly figured out the time, and reasoned that he was just on time. Eyes became blank and lips were set into a thin line.

Ah~ Right on time. How nice. Dreizehn glanced at the man that walked into the store, tilting his head. This was the demon that was coming to see him tonight? Not exactly what he had come to expect. And he seriously doubted that this person truly warranted the warning that his cards were still trying to give him. What could happen during a simple reading? Dreizehn smiled at the man, putting on the persona he used whenever dealing with demons. Kind and accepting and with an iron control on his temper. He wasn't going to snap at this man and he wasn't going to allow for any advances. He'd seen what happened to his mother after she fell for his father.

"Would you close and lock the door? I'd rather not have anyone walking in, assuming that this place is still open." The tarot reader finished wiping down the table. He walked around the main room of the café, placing the remaining chairs on the table. The reading would be in the back, so as not to arouse any suspicion from the passing humans and to allow demons to take their original forms in the back room. For some, masquerading as a human was distasteful. Humans he was close to came into the store a few times, back when he had started his café

Hazel eyes glanced at the man again. "Please, follow me. I have prepared the private room for the reading." Before turning and walking to the back room, picking up his rebellious card deck on his way. Still trying to warn him about some impending danger. Really, he would be perfectly fine. He knew what he was getting into. It was exactly the same thing that he got himself into when other demons came in.

He wouldn't, he reminded himself, fall in love with a demon. Just because he shared half his genetics with them didn't mean that he was like them. He was also part human. He was prone to expressing emotions and he enjoyed it. All those controlled demons he met...how could he be like them?

The demon set his sights on the little human bustling around the small building. Just a fine as ever he thought with a seductive glint. Snow white hair gently swayed as the demon moved to turn back, fulfilling the flimsy order. His fingers gently gripped the sign and flipped it over. His bright colored eyes darkened with envy as he watched the oblivious humans pass by the cafe, not a single line of worry on their faces. Zerek wondered just how laid-back would they be if they knew of the monsters hidden in the shadows. Would they still roam the streets with same confidence, or hide in their homes letting fear control them. It was a tempting idea to put into play, but doing such actions would only result in avoidable consequences.

His idea gently wafted into the dark recesses of his mind, as he remembered why he was here. It took a moment to remember the reason as to why he was here, but the dangerous sparkle in the demon's eyes showed that his memory had already filled him in. His body followed the innocent human into the private room, his eyes slowly taking in the surrounding before him. It definitely was interesting, not something one would expect. Then again all humans had their odd qualities.

The demon took a comfortable seat across the human, watching him like a hungry predator. Even though most humans were no harm to creatures like him, it was still wise to keep one's guard up. Z was no expert conversation starter, but his curiosity kept bugging him to ask the male certain question that would quench the thirst of knowledge.

"What exactly will happen during this," the demon paused, thinking of way to word whatever they were going to do, "...session." His voice was low, and quiet, like usual. It always took a quiet room to hear what the demon had to say, though luckily it was something worth listening to. His eyes lifted themselves from his lap, and focused on the human before him, his gaze almost demanding for his question to be answered. The demon didn't like being denied anything.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 17, 2010 8:02 pm

Dreizehn did his best to ignore the look he was getting from the demon. He was very much used to being stared at by those that came to see him. Some had propositioned him, true. But none of them had ever dared to follow through and force him to accept them as his partner as some demons did with full-blooded humans. His blood order was well known by those that frequented his store late at night--something or other about the father that had left him behind. And Dreizehn became fairly violent when he was forced into a submissive role. Because of all that, Dreizehn was assuming that this one knew everything and thus he wasn't in any danger from this demon.

Shoulders shrugged, not really having an answer for the question. It was a question with different answers for everyone. "It depends on what you're here for." He replied evenly as he spread the deck out, shuffling it without a second thought, honey hazel eyes seeming to stare through the cards to something else. "It entirely depends on what questions you want answers to." Dreizehn had a succubus see him every week for clothing advice and where the ripe men were, an older demon used his abilities to seek out certain objects and the best times to acquire them. Who knew what this one was here for? He tilted his head as he began dealing the cards out on the table between them, not paying a whit of attention to the demon across from him.

The blank faced cards spread across the table, ten cards making up a circle and and three set in the center of them. Once the card were set down on the table did Dreizehn look up at the demon sitting across from him. "We can begin whenever your ready."

The demon listened in to the answer given to him, not really pleased to hear a vague answer. Green colored orbs watched the human take his place in front of him, and that itself was amusing to watch. His movements were unconsciously confident and graceful, as he shuffled the cards with no shred of discomfort. Most tended to mess up when Z stared, but this male seemed just fine being in his line of focus. The white-haired creature leaned forward as the cards were placed on the table, his mind already trying to figure out why they were placed like this, and whatnot.

Z lifted his head when the other spoke, just the sound of his voice sent shivers of excitement through his system. He knew he was the right one. The demon pulled back and leaned against his palms as he pursed his lips in thought. What could he ask for? This was a part of his plan he had not taken much consideration into, mostly because he didn't deem it important at the time. Now he wished he had. Staring at the ceiling, he let out a caged breath. "Give me a second," he said softly. The demon never raised his voice, he never found it necessary. Lifting a sharp nail to his lips, the male tapped his thin lips in thought.

It didn't take long for the expression of 'I have an idea' to paint the male's features. With a few exception of some close friends, everyone else would have thought the male was still thinking. Shifting to sit in a straighter position the dark creature lifted his gaze to meet the human's.

"I would like to know when I shall be meeting my future mate," he silkily said, emerald eyes were dancing with unsuppressed amusement.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 25, 2010 12:47 pm

A...a mate? Really? That was what it was all about? Finding a partner for himself. Dreizehn tilted his head, a little amused. It was a little strange that the demon would want a human's help in seeking a mate. How old was this one that he could find his own mate. Dreizehn sighed and leaned back, waiting calmly. Not that long after one of the three cards in the center of the layout began to change. The face went from white to black, making Dreizehn frown quite a bit. The stupid cards were still trying to warn him about something in between the reading. This was really annoying.

After he frowned the card obediently changed to a pair of hearts linked together. He sighed and looked up at the demon, keeping his face as straight as he could. Why couldn't the cards be sraight-forward enough for everyone else to understand what they were trying to say. "You've already met your mate, it seems." He remarked softly. "Did you want to know who it is? Or when? I'm sure that the cards would be more than happy to tell you"

He didn't react as the card faded back to white. Really, he could do thie entire reading with one card if he wanted to but it didn't do to show everything in one hand. And it was so much easier having multiple cards so they didn't get jealous of each other.

Ignoring the confused look, Z kept his focus on the cards in front of him. His head tilted in confusion, the blinking of different colors was interesting, was there a reason for such a thing? If Zerek didn't know any better it seemed like warning in a sense, but maybe that was hid demon instincts talking. Looking up at the human, he waited patiently for the creature of flesh and blood to do what he needed. It did not take long for his question to be answered and to say that Z was pleased was an understatement. His usually frowning lips stretched in a charming smirk. Well I'll be damned, the demon thought amused. His fate with this fragile creature was becoming a bit more interesting.

"If you can," the demon responded politely. His emerald gaze lifted itself from sight of the cards to look at the human. "I am quite pleased to know that my mate is within reach," he inputted, the haughtiness in his tone was hard to miss. My plans are going better than expected.

Taking in a deep breath the demon straightened the slouch in his posture, and just like before waited patiently for his reading. His hands rested innocently on his lap, while his piercing gaze rested on the movements of human's hands. Z would never admit this to any carrying the same blood as him, but humans were quite interesting when focused on a task.

The cards felt a little anxious still. He didn't want them to do something stupid or insulting towards the demon. He sighed as he watched as the man sitting across from him consider the cards. The demon had seen the card try to warn him. Wonderful. What was wrong with his deck? He wasn't in any trouble apart from the possiblity that he might offend the demon with the card's antics. And he didn't want to do that.

But it was Zerek that offended Dreizehn.

Dreizehn looked at the demon and then down to the cards, eyes narrowing. If he could? Was he trying to challenge him? Or anger him? A deep frown formed on his face and he sat up properly himself. He was capable of finding out anything. He didn't need to be told 'if you can' by a demon, making him think as if his abilities were in anyway limited. He shared half of his DNA with the demon race. Even if he lived like a human, he wasn't entirely like them. Just as he wasn't entirely like demons. "Of course I can." Dreizehn muttered darkly. He reached one hand on the table, covering one of the cards. His eyes seemed to flash gray, though it was probably a trick of the light.

The cards went black one by one, clearly not wanting to be the one to tell the demon and, as a result, Dreizehn, exactly who the demon's mate would be. The card reader didn't have that much control over his temper. But not answering was just as bad and, finally, the card closest to Dreizehn replied with as cryptic an answer it could think of: a curly 13.

It had an instant effect on Dreizehn. His lips pressed into a thin line and the narrowed gaze lifted to the demon, trying to see if he understood as well. If he did then Dreizehn would not be pleased.

His name, Dreizehn, was German for thirteen.

The demon very well knew the number being flashed on those cards. Zerek was very acquainted with the German language, it was something he learned during his untamed years. Being alive for so long had its perks. It gave the creatures time to fill their head with knowledge, knowledge only few humans are able to attain. A smirk slowly morphed onto the demon's lips when he realized the unpleasant feeling shifting around them. He was as sure as hell that he was not doing that. Nope, quite the contrary. To be blunt he was quite pleased with the answers of the card. With a shift the demon placed arm on the table in front of him, and leaned forward with his elbow.

"May you please tell me what that number signals," he drawled out, a smug tone attached those words. Emerald eyes were dancing with mirth. Z felt his body suck in the excitement coursing through him. It was rare for the demon to feel so much in just a few moments. Though tonight was a special occasion, so he would it let it slide for now. Soft wisps of hair escaped from their encasement and slid forward, framing the demon's face. It gave Z an almost dangerous appeal, he was dangerous but appealing at the same time. A combination most had to cautious about.

"If I may be honest with you,"
the demon started, his form leaning back, in a languid posture. "You face expression does not look like one of excitement or even content. Is something wrong with answer being presented to you," the demon asked, his polite tone still intact, yet at the same time it was mocking.

Depsite the lazy posture the demon had adopted, his guard was more than languid. It was on high alert, just in case something happened. Humans may be predictable, but even they had their moments where no demon could guess their next move. It was a rare sight that most demons enjoyed. It gave them a challenge, which always turned out to be one of the few challenges they lost against humans. Just to be safe Z had already mapped out a couple escapes, and if needed to be he would able to spring into action. His posture was prepared to fight in the eyes of well-trained demon, but to most he was laid-back and content.

Dreizehn twitched, glaring at the demon across from him. There wasn't any reason for that number to show up on the cards, except to answer the question he'd asked. And, no, he wasn't too happy. There was nothing remotely exciting about being pointed out as a demon's future mate. Especially when he knew what most demons did with their human mates. His father was a prime example. Dreizehn refused to allow a demon to mate with him because of that man. He bit his lip as he considered his options. The demon had to leave. That was the short and long of it. He wouldn't meet this man ever again. Not if he could help it.

Hands moved across the table, collecting the cards as Dreizehn focused on them for a moment rather than the man sitting across from him. Now that they had made clear the danger their owner was in, the cards went back to their blank state. Whatever happened from here was all on Dreizehn and the demon. Things might not work out in either one's favour, but it had nothing to do with the cards anymore.

As soon as the cards were collected, Dreizehn stood and stared intently at the demon. How dare he be amused with the situation! This was the least entertaining position he could think of! To be a demon's mate. He was half convinced that the demon knew what the cards were telling him. It was in the damn smugness of his voice and the careless body position. Dreizehn's eyes narrowed but he smiled at the other, albeit coldly. "Isn't this the natural reaction to such news as this? The last thing any human would desire would be to have one of your kind force themselves onto the human." Dreizehn tapped the deck together against the table, turning away from the demon. "If you could please leave? I would very much like to be alone at the moment." So he could figure out how to get away from this demon. If it had been any other human, it would have been fine. Dreizehn didn't care about them.

Watching the other react was the most entertainment Z had in years. Emerald orbs danced with mirth; he had expected this type of reaction, but Z had never anticipated it for it to be amusing. No at first he thought it would an annoying part of his plan he would just have to deal with. But he had underestimated the odd antics of humans. Ahh these fragile creatures were so easy to anger, please, disappoint, and other things. All the while the demon in charge always got the last laugh. Letting his mind return to the current situation Z let his green eyes follow the form of the angry before him. It seemed his musing had made him lose time. Time the human in front of him had used to clean up and make a decision.

"If you wish," the demon replied flippantly. The words didn't bother him in the least. No this was just the first part of his plan. Phase one was completed, the next phase would come into action in due time. It was not till phase two that things would become really interesting. This human was not aware of what he had planned. "Please do not forget this night, for it foreshadows how you will spend the rest of your nights," the demon all put purred. It was hard not to rile the other.

Suddenly the demon was back on his feet, and no longer sitting down. He brushed off his clothing of non-existent dirt, and looked toward Dreizehn. Cold lips morphed into a cold smirk, " Have a good night love." Then like shadow of the night he disappeared, not leaving a trace of his presence.

A few minutes later saw Z on top of a roof, the building he was directly infront of the small cafe his future mate owned. Oh yes he would return. "All in due time my little mate," Z said before letting himself be taken by the silent wind.
