Dionysus hadn’t had that much of a hard day, seems that most of his so called ‘work’ consisted of partying and being praised and worshipped by his faithful Maenads and Satyrs, but he still felt rather tired, and so he decided it would probably be best for him to relax in his hot tub room.

Though, when he arrived there, which took him quite some time to do, he was both surprised and curious to see someone already there, who just so happened to be Hera.

Dionysus leaned lazily against the doorway to his room with his arms folded across his chest and half-grinned at the goddess, his eyes narrowing in curiosity, “And what brings you, dear Hera, to my room?” His speech was slightly slurred, but that was normal for Dionysus seems that his whole life consisted of him being balanced between being drunk or being hung over after being drunk. Right now, he was basically a mix of both, “Trying to escape from a particular person, perhaps...?”

“Escaping isn’t really the best option, but I suppose it is the easiest thing to do, hmnh?” Dionysus stepped away from the doorway and took Hera’s hand, accepting her offer of help with a thankful smile, “Thank you,” He muttered quietly, only stumbling slightly when he stepped forward again, “I’m not too drunk, though... I had a few drinks, but that’s all.”

He laughed rather giddily and tilted his head slightly to one side, letting his long brown hair slip across his shoulder, his eyes scanning Hera’s face for any hints to her current feelings, “And I’d have to agree with you. I doubt anyone could possibly be louder than him, but it is his job to do so... You haven’t argued with him, have you?”

“Oh... I see.” Dionysus said, a hint of concern echoing in his tone, “Well, arguments are essential for a good relationship. It keeps things exciting. If it was happy and joyful all the time it wouldn’t be any fun at all...” He grinned rather smugly now, and added, “Trust me, I know what real fun is like... I enjoy chaos and the madness it creates. Your arguments sound small to me, seems that you both have a reputation for annoying each other continuously...” He nodded his head, trying to appear intellectual, then shrugged lazily, “You still love each other, don’t you? Even if you quarrel so much, you are still together through all of it. That counts for something, doesn’t it?”

Dionysus stared deeply in to Hera’s eyes, paused for a moment to consider his options, then began to smile brightly, “It is your duty to stay, even if you despise the concept completely. But, I know just what you need.” He then pulled his hand away briefly to clap his hands together.

Suddenly, only a few seconds later, a young face peeked around the corner of the doorway to the room, who just so happened to be one of Dionysus’ loyal servants, “Bring us some of my best wine, won't you? Hera deserves only my best.” The servant nodded and ran away immediately after Dionysus spoke, so Dionysus turned his attention back to Hera, “I will treat you in your time of frustration. Then you can let go of all these negative feelings..”

He then placed both his hands on top of Hera’s, giving her that brilliant smile once again as he reassured her, “Trust me, my wine can relax even the most savage of Gods. You deserve a gift for all the trouble you have been through...”

And now, he just had to wait for the servant to return.

“No need to thank me. It’s my pleasure to serve you. After all, you are a mother to us all in a way, and I will treat you as you deserve to be treated, as the Queen of Olympus herself...” Dionysus spoke carefully, and truthfully at that, meaning every word that he said. He had to respect Hera, no matter what, even if his intentions were clouded by his slightly intoxicated self.

Eventually the servant returned with two cups and handed one to Dionysus, and the other to Hera. Dionysus nodded in thanks to the servant, who ran away again soon after with a smile on his face, then raised his cup with that same wide grin he had shown before, “Here’s to us and our immortal lives... Plenty of time to work out marital arguments, I suppose..” He laughed and sipped a little from his cup before humming in delight, “Mnh... This is indeed my best wine of all. It is rather strong, but you will get used to it in time. Now, tell me, Hera... Tell me all of your troubles.”

Dionysus gave her a comforting pat on the back which he carefully turned in to a one-handed hug as he wrapped his arm around Hera’s shoulders, his other hand lifting his cup to his lips again before he attempted to reply, “That can’t be true... I mean, you have many people to go to. I suppose some are more understanding than others of course, but there are some here who would gladly listen, just like I am now.”

He gave her another one of his signature smiles as he carefully wiped away the tears that escaped her eyes with the back of his hand that held his cup, “Crying over such a thing is silly, Hera... I know my Father is not the most caring of men, and he does not truly understand your feelings for him, but you just have to keep in mind that of all the women he has been with, he married you and no one else. So he does have some feelings for you...”

He paused for a while, considering what words he could add to that, and could only come up with this, “I am always available if you need someone to comfort you. I may not be the most intellectual of the Gods, but I understand raw emotion much more than anyone else. Perhaps all you need is a good push in the right direction...”
