Quiet, quiet, quiet. That's what the mansion was today. Quiet... Quiet... Boring. The little sin'aeis had once again wandered from his guardian's side, and was now searching the area curiously. He'd been here enough times to know the general layout- then again, how long can someone that young remember that sort of thing?- but he still felt like he hadn't seen anything yet. All of his visits had been so short, after all, and although every time he wriggled off to explore, he barely got anywhere before he stopped again.

This time, the baby was trying someplace different- he'd started wandering around outside now, and had stumbled across the garden. He looked up at the flowers and plants with wide eyes, seeming to get much more out of the experience than most his age would; he'd most probably be found drawing when he and Freize went home. Bright, vivid colors against the blue of the sky... Things like that stuck in his mind, even while most other things didn't.

A visit to the mansion couldn't hurt, could it? Besides, he's been trying lately to at least be around other Sin for Pryderi. Becoming friends with them and actually socializing was a completely different story, but at least he could say he went. That would keep his guardian happy, and a happy guardian meant better home life.

Shifting his weight and turning his skateboard effortlessly around the corner and onto the sidewalk, Maelon watching as the mansion got larger and larger. Hopefully only a few people were here. He'd isolated himself for so long that he didn't think he could handle a large crowd. Way too many people talking and just breathing all around him. Bleh. That wasn't a nice thought. Pushing aside all disgusting thoughts like that, the dark chocolate Sin'aeis skidded to a stop, flipping the skateboard up into his waiting hand. Perfect. Practice really did pay off.

Mae paused for a moment, decided if he would rather go inside the mansion, or stay outside. Staying outside sounded much better, especially since there was a possibility that Yuki would be in the garden. Brightened by that thought, the dark chocolate boy headed through the gate and around the back of the mansion. He had just turned the corner when something blue caught his eye. Peering into the flowerbed, he was surprised to find (what he presumed to be) a young Sin staring up at him. Where had he come from?

The little one jumped as suddenly another being, as if from nowhere, just popped up infront of him. He gazed up at him curiously, somewhat in awe, for his little mind had just decided that since he hadn't noticed the older boy's approach that he must have appeared magically. After a few seconds he smiled and lifted a hand to wave up at the older child, doing so simply by lifting a hand and clenching and unclenching it. It was a baby's wave, for sure. "Huwwo."

The wings that stood where his ears should be wriggled slightly as his mind wandered through deep baby thoughts- well, as deep as baby thoughts could get. He used to shy away a bit from older Sin'aeis, but now that most of the ones he was meeting and befriending WERE older, he was more than used to it. He just smiled warmly up at the chocolate child.

"F'ower." He suddenly noted, pointing towards the inhabitants of the flower bed he was standing in. It was his way of telling the other what had drawn him here- the flowers. It was the bright colors of the flowers. Color always seemed to be able to draw Chael anywhere; which may one day come back to bite him in the butt, but for now it just lead him off on innocent and childish little expeditions. His head tilted to one side slightly as he finally thought to introduce himself. "I Chael." He noted, matter-of-factly.

At least the child was aware enough to notice his presence. Then again, kids tended to react when a shadow appeared overhead (magically or not). Maelon stared back at the boy in the flowerbed, purple eyes unblinking. He was a funny-looking kid, with little wing things were he should have had ears. Was he another bird like Akilah? But what bird was that blue? Unfortunately, Mae had never really studied birds - they were still weird despite his somewhat truce with Kilah - and couldn't recognize the types of birds. That wasn't true. He could tell a chicken from a normal bird, but anything past that was just classified as "bird." There was no need to put them into categories. They all did the same thing.

Finally blinking when the child did some sort of strange "wave", Mae's ears twitched when the kid waved and spoke. Maybe he should wave back. Naw. He didn't feel like it. Verbal responses were better anyways. "Hey." He replied slowly, not really sure what to do with kids. He'd never dealt with the mini-Chibi any more than he had to, and he certainly hadn't learned anything by being in the same room as him. Not sure how to progress after that, he settled for sitting down on the grass in front of this little Sin'aeis. Kids got scared when people towered over them, didn't they? It seemed a good tactic. He set his skateboard down beside him, ears twitching again when the boy spoke.

Flower? Well, the kid spoke at least. Hopefully that meant they could communicate. The last thing he needed was the kid to start screaming because he hadn't said what he wanted clearly. Maelon didn't do screaming babies. The next two words from the kid at least gave a name to a face. Chael. Interesting name. "I'm Maelon. Who do you belong to, kid?"

Maelon was lucky this time- Chael was definately not the screaming sort of baby. He also had a decent grasp on this talking thing; his caretaker had taught him about talking very early on and had been teaching him rigorously. He watched as the older child sat, pondering now on how he managed to do that magic-appeary thing. What else could the other boy do? He could only imagine- well, mostly because it hadn't been magic that got the chocolate Sin'aeis here, but rather a skateboard and a pair of feet. Oh well, let the child dream. His simple mind had found a conclusion and he clung to that conclusion in a sort of awe-struck manner. "Mae'on." He echoed the name, something he did everytime he learned a new name or word. It was as if he needed to do so in order to remember.

After only seconds he mimicked the other child, plopping down into a sit without a single thought on where he had been standing. "Be'ong?" He questioned curiously, not quite getting the wording of the question at first. One tiny hand lifted to scratch at the side of his head, right behind his feathered ear. Suddenly his pale blue eyes lit up with recognition, as if he'd actually heard that question somewhere before.

"Oh's!" He patted his hands on the ground thoughtfully. "Mae'on mean who Chael's dada? Yah? My's dada be Fweize!" He smiled merrily towards the other boy, pleased as if he had just figured out some sort of puzzle. In reality, he simply recognized the question because he'd been asked something similar when he'd wandered off and gotten lost last time. Someone had asked him 'who he belonged to', and when he didn't understand they had told him 'I mean who's your mommy and daddy?'

Yes, Maelon was quite lucky. Perhaps he and Chael might get along better with Mae than most other Sin'aeis. We'll have to see.

The child hadn't exploded into a fit of screaming, crying, biting mess so Maelon assumed he was quite safe. Not that he couldn't out-bite the kid, but Pryderi had gotten upset the last time he'd bitten someone. The teacher had deserved the bite mark that the dark chocolate boy's sharp incisors had left on his arm. He had tried to out-muscle the dark chocolate boy! That was totally unacceptable! You didn't go trying to out-muscle Mae! Not even Akilah got away with that, despite the fact that she was of equal strength (if not stronger than him). If he wasn't going to accept if from his sworn enemy (of sorts), he certainly wasn't going to accept it from some adult nobody. Psh. The teacher learned quick enough.

Chael's awestruck look was just a tad unnerving - Mae couldn't decided if it was just his general appearance of something about his demeanor - but he did his best to ignore the staring blue eyes. He didn't like being stared at. It usually meant that he was in trouble, or something along those lines. It didn't really occur to him that Chael's look was more revering than it was scolding. He wasn't exactly been role-model worthy. At the echoing back of his name, Mae nodded, glad at least that it sounded like his name. He was more liable to respond to something that sounded like his name, as opposed to something that sounded like a bunch of gobitty-goop.

The sitting down was a bonus. The kid was pretty intelligent. Mae could definitely get to like him. The question made him blink, the dark chocolate boy opening his mouth to reply when it seemed to click for Chael. The kid caught on pretty quick. Bonus points. "Yeah... so you're father's Freize?" Glancing about, Maelon didn't see any ninja-ing parents around here. The kid wasn't here by himself, was he? "Your father here?"

(Sorry for diapearing, I had something important I had to take care of.)

The child nodded sagely at the question, sitting upright and peering off towards the porch. "Chael weft dada ove' dere!" He pointed at the porch now- it was where he usually expected to find his guardian. That's always where the weremutt would rest when they came here. First thing, he'd slink off to the porch and plop on down. He'd then do something that all of his children had come to expect from him when they were out in public- he'd drift off to lala land. The antisocial male had found it was easier to kill boredom that way, seeing as he would rarely speak to another being or do anything most normal people did out in public. He used to bring books. Now he just zoned out.

That zoning out made escape easy, almost inevitable for his charge. Chael's short attention span and high curiousity levels would draw him away from his caretaker's side, and off into the depths of the mansion. Or in today's couse, into the depths of the garden. When the baby turned back to face Maelon, he seemed to have completely forgotten the older child's 'magical' appearance, and that awed look was now gone from him. Short attention span. He looked once again to the flowers, examining them with a thoughtfulness that was surprising to see on someone so young.

The little one suddenly piped up again, "Mae'on here by hisself?" His eyes remained hooked on the flowers, and eventually his hands sought one out. He curiously smashed it between two hands and examined the colored residue it left on his hands... Pretty.. He pondered on it as much as his small mind would allow.
