Physical Appearance: Kaliska is a tiny women with short everything. Except for her hair which is an elegant deep brown color, and shining with health. Kaliska has dark green/grey eyes which fool people as to which color they really are in different lighting. She has small feet and narrow body. Her face has high cheek bones and thin lips. She rarely smiles unless she is with really good company (dragons mostly) so her grin is somewhat of a mystery.

Likes: Laughing (secretly), flowers, DRAGONS!, bright color and swimming, fishing and almost anything else to do with water.

Dislikes: Humidity, too much company, vegetables, Klah, wimps wherries, Example (OMG a bug! faint...)

Strengths: Intelligent, honest, fair and a problem solver, can swim and is not afraid of heights, public speaking a leader.(only within weyr)

Weaknesses: Crowds of none weyrfolk, wherries(of all things)she is afraid of them, ignoring people when she is busy.
She often blocks the doorway to her private rooms with clutter so she will know when someone is coming

Personality: Kaliska loves the weyr and dragons and finds people interesting. Particularly if they have really good information. She likes weyrfolk because their conversation doesn't often stray to far away from dragons. She dislikes to get up early and if disturbed rudely may wake in bad temper. At any other time of the day she is mostly happy and will help with chores outside. She also knows herbs and a little first aid. She likes to recopy scrolls as well and is getting rather proficient at it. When it comes to animals. Dragons are awesome!, Firelizards rock!, whers are cool, runners are fascinating, herdbeasts are mildly interesting, and wherries are scary. Kaliska enjoys public speaking but doesn't take criticism too well but eventually gets over it. She loves nature walks in the outdoors and can often be found helping riders oil their dragons. When people first meet Kaliska they immediately get a feeling of warmth with her bubbly personality. Being raised by a healer Kaliska is not afraid to take a leadership role and often acted as a moderator in stressful situations. Kaliska wants most to be a responsible respected figure in her society, she is determined to a point of fault, and is often up late at night thinking over things. Her ambition sometimes dumps her in hot water. And leaves people frustrated with her. She gets so single minded she will block almost everything else out until she is reminded again that she cannot control everything. She is also a bit of a grudge holder, not in a serious way but in a you scratch my back and ill scratch yours kinda mentality. She also gets along best with men, women are too dramatic in her opinion and if at all possible she will avoid them thus she had very few women friends and tends to bottle up emotions just like men. So that eventually the emotions spill over bringing tears or anger upon which ever unsuspecting person incurred her wrath. Most of the time she is calm and responsible. Unless there are wherries a fear she is hoping to eventually get over. Kaliska also has a strong personality and can be gruff or even coarse. With a degree of pomposness.She also has a jealous streak This is especially evident when she is tired.
Other: Kaliska sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating hard, its hilarious and she cant consciously control it for long. She likes to lightly tug her hair when she is reading and is constantly flicking it out of her eyes when doing anything where there is wind to this end haircuts are frequent. She likes picking at hangnails, scabs and blemishes. which being a healer she knows she shouldn't but cant really stop.
Kaliska surprisingly given some of her people skills has an awesome memory and can easily recall peoples names. She can hold her breath under water for over a minute and she likes to catch fish.

History:
Kaliska was weyrbred. Her parents were simply too young to care for her and she was given away at birth, And raised by the weyr healer. The healer taught her small things of healing basically first aid. Kaliska has no siblings that she knows of. The healer made sure she had good morals, Kaliska is not a theif unless you count small tidbits from the kitchen. She shares well with other people. and always tries to help people who are hurt weather emotionally or physically. Experience taught her not to be afraid of blood or stressfull situations as the healer guided her with his steadfast calm. Since Kaliska was raised by a man she often gets along better with boys. Kaliska has learned the hard way in her upbringing that it is life and love over all else. She waited impatiently until she was of a get to impress but sadly it has been a few years. After a while she took a break from hatchings to gather her emotions and has finally decided to try once again.

The wherry story :0
Kaliska had snuck into the wherry pen to get a closer look at feeding dragons and was swarmed by the captive wherries. This thankfully only left her with a healthy fear of wherries and a few large scraps and scratches thanks to the quick blue rider who pulled her out before any lasting damage could be inflicted. This is why Kaliska is afraid of wherries the accident happened when she was young but has stayed with her.

“She also like to practice healing in her spare time.” <- Since she is not an official healer’s apprentice, it’s unlikely that she would be able to do this. On Pern, people tend to leave the healing to the healers. It’s fine for her to have some basically knowledge of the craft (different herbs, numbweed, how to deal with minor injuries) but she wouldn’t be allowed to “practice healing” as it were in her spare time.

You’ve also only listed one flaw in your personality (single-mindedness). You’ve got two others in there but you’ve canceled both of them out by adding positives on the end. For example, “Kaliska… doesn’t take criticism too well but eventually gets over it.” By adding the but you essentially make it so that the flaw no longer counts. I need you to add one more flaw in there.

There’s a bit of a conflict between Kaliska’s “people tire/bore me” trait and her determination to be a respected figure in society. If she didn’t care about people enough to talk to them, how can she care about their opinions of her and want to look good in their eyes?

The history is good save for the wherry incident. Both of the Weyrs are northern Weyrs, which means that the chances of being allowed outside of them without an escort are extremely slim. Not only could the weather turn bad at any moment, but there are dangerous creatures out there and letting a twelve year old out into the wilderness alone would be just plain stupid on her foster father’s part. The fear doesn’t have to be from something dramatic; it can be as simple as she got into the wherry pens as a child and was swarmed by them. There are “tame” wherries that live in the Weyr for feeding purposes, so it’s much more likely she encountered one of them and that scared her.
