Delia couldn't help the tiny bit of drool that seeped at the corner of her mouth. Though being whole had it's advantages, it had a lot of draw backs too, especially for humans. Having to feed more often than she was use to was one of them. Whereas being a Raevan she would only have to eat perhaps once or twice a week, humans had to eat at least three times a day! That was frustrating as was having to get use to eating their kind of food. Even though she was tasting it with a human tongue that was rather familiar with the stuff, it still remained somewhat foreign and odd to her. Yet, her body seemed to crave it and she wasn't going to deny it nourishment.
The bored looking cashier waited patiently as could be while the purple haired youth scanned the menu above. He wasn't about to rush her since she was sort of pretty and besides, wasn't like there was a big line or anything. In fact there was no one there, that was not until something all clad in black with sharp looking weapons on her back came floating in. That was enough to get the cashier to look less bored and more frightened by this dangerous and feminine looking creature. He'd be sure to keep an eye on her in case she really was trouble.
"Cordelia Shade!" Ebony hissed as she quickly made her way over to her run away ward. "Get away from there right this instant!"
Cordelia stood her ground by crossing her arms and shaking her head. "No. I'm not eating anymore of that low-fat crap you call food. Stuff tastes like...like...well I dunno! It just tastes bad is all!"

The kitten's ears were up and facing outward. She was happy. Alex really had been right and here she was. With a belly. She had grown and now she was out, in all her glory. Lucia had gone out since growing. With Yuurei -- shopping was a must with new body parts to adorn. She had gotten a silver belly chain and had plans to get her belly button pierced, both the top and the bottom. With Ty she had gone generally everywhere. They shopped a bit, they went to the beach, they went for coffee- which Lucia decided sucks by the way.
But this was the first time she was really out on the town just her. The sigel's sleep schedule was better now, but she still didn't get up until about noon regularly. It wasn't anything that bothered her, though. With the sun overhead, however, and the flight to Gambino, Lucia was a little thirsty. The bright colors of a food place she had never been in but had seen a few of all around Gaia drew her eyes. It was weird - this eating thing. She didn't like chewing much, but drinking was nice. As a cold or hot liquid traveled down her esophagus and settled in her stomach, heating or cooling her, she liked the strange sensation.
Floating towards the entrance, a black glow caught her attention more than anything else did. Was it--? Pulling open the doors, which was so much easier now that she seemed to have more energy - there was no flip of the wings to help propel it open, it just went - Lucia floated right up to the front and, spotting what she was hoping, cried out, "Delia!" before throwing her arms around the frei.

Just as Ebony's dark lips parted to verbally execute her authority over the stubborn youth, she was interrupted by a loud call of the basilisk's nickname. Suddenly strong arms wrapped around her from out of nowhere and squeezed. Though it wasn't exactly tight or overly constricting, Ebony was never one for her personal space being invaded, most especially without warning. And given her current mood, the woman wasn't going to warm up to it either.
Like a squirming puppy not wanting to be held, the smoke Raevan growled and tried wiggling her way free. "L-let go!" she cried when she hadn't gotten anywhere quick.
Meanwhile, Cordelia had been standing there with her mouth popped wide open in awe at the sight before her. Grey eyes moved slowly up and down the new length of the cat Raevan. Still a little dazed, the human uttered breathlessly, "Lucia...you grew!"
Suddenly Delia felt a familiar surge of pride grip her, yet this time it was for someone else! Even though her and Lucia had their misgivings in the past, she was actually really happy for the other now. So much so she was grinning ear to ear, totally forgetting whom she was suppose to be then.

Lucia released her friend quickly, though Delia had never been so sensitive about her hugs before. Was she still upset? She had been fine the night after she apologized. And at the beach she had been excited to see her. Give her some space. Let her know you're sorry. Backing off, the Kitten just grinned at the Basilisk. "Hi! I didn't expect to see you out here."
As Ebony's body stated the obvious, Lucia's grin grew broader. "You noticed?!" Smiling, she did a little turn for the woman, showing off her belly. "It's pretty cool." Her stomach muscles tightened, showing that when flexed they had some definition, but otherwise was smooth but firm.
"So how have you been Ebony?" she asked the purple-haired woman. Her eyes flicked back to her smoky friend, trying to see what the problem had been. She playfully tapped the frei's ribbon with the bow on her hip. "What's up?"

Grateful to be free, Ebony scrambled to put some distance between her and the hugger. It was only vaguely that she'd heard it was Lucia as she was busy trying to calm herself down as well as straighten out her vest. Her lashes fluttered disbelievingly though when she'd finally looked up to view the elder Raevan, twirling around and pretty much being a show off to her further development.
Delia giggled at her friend's antics. "It's hard not to notice." she replied still marveling over the girl's new looks. Seemed the feline was doing better these days, then again she would have been in pretty high spirits herself if she'd grown. Course she was experiencing something no Raevan she was aware had for the first time, the ability to actually walk. The likes of which she was forgetting then as Lucia was addressing her by her guardian's name. Simply the girl smiled happily towards the Sigel as they awaited an answer to her inquiry.
Automatically Ebony started to answer, but stopped when Lucia bumped her bow on her smoky ribbon, thoroughly reminding the woman that on the outside she was not Ebony now. Plastering on her best Cordelia inspired grin, the basilisk linked arms (regrettably) with the elder and moved her away from the counter. A move she hoped would serve as not only a way to cover up her uncomfortableness, but also to keep Cordelia from effectively ruining her body with lots of junk food.
"Ebby's fine and so am I. We were um..." Crap, what the heck would they be doing in a fast food restaurant if they weren't here to eat? "...we were just getting change." Oh if only she could kick herself now because that was utterly pathetic. Quickly she added, "So how are you? When'd you grow?"

Lucia smiled and nodded at the guardian. "I'm just kidding, but it is nice to have kind of a lower body." It was a little silly that she didn't feel much different. It just kind of was. The new skin felt the same as the old skin. The new attached clothes were awesome, but there was nothing too different about it. Only now she could wear a padded bra if she wanted.
Her face relaxed as Delia slipped arm around hers and began talking. She let Delia lead her a bit, but not too far because she was here for a reason. "What do you need change for?" she asked the girl. "Oh just a few days ago! Zul was with me and I just grew." She didn't mention that she had gone back there. Lucia wasn't afraid of the spirit world anymore, but she was certain Delia wouldn't appreciate that she had gone there.
The Kitten stopped Delia from pulling her too far from the counter. When had the Snake gotten so pushy? "One sec Delia. I came here for something." Slipping her hand out from Delia's hold, she looked at the menu. Drinks. Drinks. Where were the drinks?
She settled her eyes on the small writing: Beverages. Soda - she had that once. Too sweet. Juices - not something she was interested in. Milk! Milk, she decided, sounded amazing. "I'm getting some milk," she mentioned briefly to her friend before turning to the counter.

When Ebby slipped arm in arm with Lucia, a sudden flare lit up in Delia's chest that caused her to frown. She'd never had a problem with sharing really, especially friends, but for some reason now the girl was experiencing her first wave of true jealously. She didn't like being on the sidelines so to speak and having all of HER friend's attention on her guardian. Crossing her arms over her chest, Cordelia tried to suppress her silent pouting as the two conversed.
Just as she'd anticipated, the other asked about the change, but as per usual, Ebony decided to glide the conversation over and away from it. It was exceptionally easy seeing how turned around she'd made Lucia already with her questioning and such. Giving a soft clap of her hands, "Oh you saw Zul? I haven't seen him in awhile. How is he?" She stopped when prompted and watched the teen wander towards the counter. "Oh, no problem. Take your time!"
While Lucia's back was turned to them, Ebony slumped forward some in her floating and gave a heavy sigh. This was a lot harder than she thought. Cordelia was her total opposite; extremely talkative and bursting with energy. Just this tiny bit was exhausting and Ebony wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep it up. If that weren't enough, Delia was shooting daggers at her then. Was she still mad about the food stuff?
"What's wrong?" she hissed to Cordelia. When the girl simply shook her head, Ebony sighed. "If you're still hungry then go ahead and get something. Doesn't look like we're leaving soon anyway."
With something of a bite to it, the girl answered sharply, "I'm not hungry anymore." An obvious lie, but Delia wasn't about to admit that now.

Lucia's features lit up as the discussion turned to her best friend. "Zul's awesome really. I think something was a little wrong when I saw him. But he was happy when he saw me."
After ordering the light milk that was offered, Lucia's bright eyes turned to Ebony. If it wasn't for the Brit, after all, she wouldn't be friends with Delia anymore. "We're you about to order something, Ebony?" She could have sworn she saw the woman up at the counter before. "Or did you already get that change?" She smiled at the woman, waiting for her milk. After all, the last time she had seen the Brit she had flung her arms around her in a desperate hug.
Something was bugging Lucia. It was really getting to her. Cordelia hadn't said what she thought of her growth. A frown played on her face and she looked at her smoky friend. That was what Zul had smelled like too. But right now, she wasn't sure what was wrong with Delia. She seemed more interested in Zul than in her. And she was right here.
Deciding to overlook it or get to the bottom of it, Lucia simply called her out. "What's up with you Delia? You didn't say what you thought of my belly." Normally, if Lucia said she needed to get something, Delia would say 'OKAY' and go with her. Instead she was told to take her time. What was up?

Cordelia's features matched her emotions as it always did and fell a little at hearing that something might be wrong with Zul. Taking on a more thoughtful expression, the girl replied quietly, "Zul and Riven were fighting at the beach party last I saw. Not real fighting, but like they didn't seem too happy with each other." She missed the fearful look Ebony shot her then at the girl's name slip up. The Brit rarely called anyone by their nicknames, yet most called him Riv. Would Lucia pick up on that?
"But if he was happy when he saw you, then that makes me happy too." Delia smiled warmly towards the cat. Tilting her head in slight confusion, "Huh? Change? Oh! Oh yeah yeah! Got the change." She patted her pocket just to make it seem more believable.
The whole time her ward was talking, Ebony felt herself get more and more edgy, her nose giving that little twitch it normally did without her knowledge as usual. Head snapping to Lucia at her downright blunt question, she laughed nervously. "N-Nothing's wrong. Honest! I'm sorry. I think it's great you got one. Say, have you tried any human food yet?"
There it was again, that look of slight betrayal in Cordelia's eyes as she watched the two interact. She felt utterly left out. If Yuurei had been there, Delia would have gladly chatted with her if the Sigel wouldn't give her the time of day. As it was, that was not the case and thus the girl would just have to suck it up.

Lucia looked at Ebony quizzically. She wasn't acting like Ebony. And Delia wasn't acting like Delia. Maybe she had interrupted something. Taking her milk, Lucia slipped a straw in. She didn't know what was wrong with her friend and the friend's guardian, but the Kitten didn't like it.
Looking at the straw, though, she thought about what Delia said. Maybe the friends were fighting then? But if that was it - she wasn't sure that was everything. The sigel thought it was more than that. She'd need to talk to him about it. Soon. But him, it seemed, she could talk to more easily than Delia right now. Even Ebony's started nature about the change they needed seemed unusual.
Taking a sip, the Kitten's eyes lit up. Milk. It was amazing. Smooth. Rich. Delicious.
"I tried a little food. It's okay. I don't like eating too much. Chewing is annoying." She smiled, not expecting any human to agree with her. But mastication. It was so dirty in a way. Grinding food into mush so it could be swallowed in small portions and juices in the stomach could break it down. It was kind of nasty.
"But I like drinking more."

Cordelia laughed at what Lucia said about the humans way of feeding. "How often you have to do it is really annoying too. I could be doing so many other things with that time." As she laughed again a rather sly and mischievous grin slipped onto her lips. Giving Ebony a so-so innocent side long glance, "Oh and whatever you do, don't get anywhere near anything tofu. It's..." Shaking that purple head of hers, Delia made a disgusted face. "...just yuck."
Black ribbon rippling in waves of discontent, Ebony crossed her arms and gave her charge a meaningful look. "It can't be that bad Lucia. Maybe it just takes some getting use to. I can't wait to grow. You know, be more mature." That last part was obviously a shot at Cordelia and yes it was somewhat immature of her to get suckered into this game, but the girl had to learn she couldn't get everything she wanted. Besides, she wasn't the only one suffering right now. What Ebony wouldn't give to feed on real food now rather than gag and cough as she tried to choke down clouds of smoke.
The girl gave a huff and turned all her attention on the Sigel, hoping by butting her way into the conversation more would allow her the same attention she so desperately wanted from the cat Raevan. Still bent on making Ebby squirm since she couldn't get her way, "Soooo Lucia, how's Yuurei? Oh and uh what's his name...Ty? Yeah, how is Ty?" she made sure to look very interested in what the other girl had to say about the Aussie as she knew Ebby didn't really find him her cup of tea even if he had helped her out that one time at the end of the beach party. It was working as she saw vaguely from the corner of her eyes the slight tell tale signs of her guardian's rising ire.

It was weird. Something was very wrong about this situation. Violet eyes flicked from Ebony's body, to the floating raevan and back again. Her eyes narrowed. Why was Ebony complaining about eating so much, when she had been doing it her whole life. And why was Delia hoping to be "mature." It was just...off.
"Yuu's good. So is Ty." Her voice trailed off as she looked between the two a bit more.
"And it's not like I'm any different now than I was as a frei. You're the same person. Just more body. But I'm surprised you care about that, Delia. You have so much fun just yourself. I mean that stuff you showed me on New Years. What was it in your room again?"
Eyelashes didn't move as her stare flicked between the two women. Why was Ebony acting like Delia? She could never imagine the woman saying "...just yuck." While Delia would never hope to be more 'mature.' It was almost like their personalities were total opposites.

Both females' stance stiffened slight at this inquiry as two sets of grey eyes blinked slowly in unison. New Years? That was so long ago it seemed and yet Ebony wouldn't have known the answer to it even then. Delia on the other hand could vaguely recall showing the cat her newly finished room and the presents from Lazarus. Was that the stuff she spoke of? She couldn't remember showing her anything else, and yet...the violet haired girl gave her Raevan counterpart a side-long glance, one of questioning this time. How was she to rely this information to her guardian now? If she did out loud or even by whispering, surely Lucia would hear and immediately know their little secret.
"Uhh..." the woman pretending to be the basilisk voiced in her moment of silent flailing. Time to improvise it seemed. Giving a strangled sort of laugh, Ebony quickly replied, "Oh that old stuff? Psshh, that's yesterday. I've got tons of new stuff! Like my violin and some really cool jewelry from my da-er I mean my granddad."

It didn't slip Lucia's attention that her friend had avoided her question, which had meant to probe if something was wrong with Delia's mind. She didn't really know what to do in the situation. Her friend wasn't her friend. The things she had valued so much wouldn't be 'old stuff.'
"You showed me your violin when I went over your house after meeting at the beach," she replied quietly. The Kitten placed her milk on the table and just kind of stared at it, thinking. An unease settled in her stomach. It wasn't a feeling she liked. She didn't know what was wrong, but Delia had worried about her when she was possessed. She would worry about Delia since she was acting odd.
She brought the straw to her lips and gently sucked on it, drawing the cold liquid into her mouth for a second before swallowing it. It wasn't the grand meeting she had envisioned the first time she saw another raevan after growing. But that was selfish, she knew.
Lucia's eyes locked on the Basilisk's, knowing how to react. The snake didn't blink often typically. "Seriously, Delia. You're worrying me. I think you should talk to Dr. Kyou, or Alex, or Zeke." Since her time spent with them, her trust for the lab staff had increased tremendously.
"Something's off with you. Just like you knew, seeing me, that something was off with me when I was possessed. I know something's weird." Her stare switched to Ebony, figuring the woman had always been straightforward with her, even if she didn't like Ty.
"Seriously, tell me what's up or I'm going straight to the lab after this. And I won't stop until Delia is back to normal. And if you don't know something's odd, well." That's worse than Yuu, she finished in her head. The Kitten was stubborn and determined. She meant every word, and it was clear on her face and in her eyes.
