The girls had confined themselves solely to their home recently even though the storm had finally broken and they were free to do as they pleased. Of course that was hard to do when neither was able to easily move from one part of a room to another without falling or crashing into something. Yet after hours and hours of practice, with more tears and cursing than one would have liked, both females seemed to finally be getting the hang of their "new" bodies.
Bobbing and weaving shakily, Ebony crossed the living room to stand next to Cordelia and the fireplace. Afterward she slumped to the ground thoroughly exhausted. She couldn't understand how Raevans made it seem so easy. It took all her concentration to keep herself afloat while willing her half of a torso to move forward or any other direction. What was worse was that she still felt like she had legs she could move, the dreaded phantom limbs affect many amputees spoke of. Frustrated for not being able to catch on fast, Ebony addressed her ward. "What exactly am I doing wrong Cordelia? You Raevans never seem to have any problems moving about."
Delia had gave a small clap to her woman for being able to at least make it across the room in one go now. That was progress yes? Her guardian didn't seem to agree with that though, asking what she was doing wrong. Tilting her purple head from side to side, the girl thought. Shrugging, "I dunno. We just know how to do it I guess. I've never had to think about it. Maybe you should do that? Not think about it." Of course that was easier said than done.

Ever since the storm started, Lazarus was not able to visit Cordelia due to obvious reasons. So he had brought the foxfish home with him and had been living in Kyou's bathtub ever since, thinking of it as merely babysitting, since he had no intentions of keeping it as a pet. He had been feeding it small fishes and on occasion raw meat slices on Kyou's advice.
The little critter had taken a liking on Lazarus for some strange reason, perhaps it was his warmer body temperature, the incubus wasn't really sure. So even if Lazarus had the little guy propped in a jar of water, he didn't really struggle much or make a fuss at all. The foxfish just propped it's fins over the Sigel's arms and rests it's furry chest on the brim of the jar, looking around curiously as they head to Ebony's house in Gambino.
This would be the second time Lazarus visit their house, the storm was pretty intense, and it left the Delaran's house in ruins. He silently hoped that the Shade's house is alright, being located on the island and all.
The house came into view eventually, and he was glad to find it in one piece, save for the broken awning and strewn rubbish outside the house. Floating up to the front door, he rang the doorbell once, hoping that someone would be home. He tried to call earlier but he couldn't get a line, perhaps the storm killed their phone line or something. He sure hope that he didn't come to an empty house, because although he is strong, holding a large jar filled with water and a chimera is quite a strain on his arms. And he hate to think that he might need to make a second trip. "Anyone home?" Lazarus shouted curiously, announcing to the residents inside who was at the door.

At the sound of the doorbell ringing both females quickly clammed up, giving one another a curiously apprehensive glance. They hadn't been expecting anyone, yet the skies had cleared for long enough now that things in the city were probably getting back to normal. Say things like the mail. But today wasn't a mail day, yet what with the weather messing things up and such, it wasn't a complete impossibility. The two remained still and quiet a moment longer with bated breathe. Perhaps if they did so then whomever on the other side would surely realize no one was home and simply leave. Alas no such luck as a familiar voice called out to them.
"Lazarus!" Cordelia crowed in joyous surprise as she half dashed, half stumbled her way towards the front door.
"Cordelia! No!" Ebony hissed as she desperately tried to propel herself forward fast enough to catch her charge. Why the hell was this so damn hard?!
A couple more moments of excitable fumbling with the latches and finally the door came swinging wide open. "Hi Laz!" Practically bouncing on her newly acquired appendages, Delia was all for throwing herself upon the fire Sigel in one of her patented hugs, but at the last moment the purple haired girl came to a screeching halt.
Though she was never in any real danger, the girl's natural aversion to water was still very much embedded in her brain. So much so that Delia's brow knitted into a careful expression balanced between slight disgust and cautious skepticism. "What..." she began, her voice dripping with mild contempt. "...is that?" Cordelia ended, a well manicured nail pointing sharply towards the bowl Lazarus held, making sure not to actually touch it while she did so.

The foxfish noticeably shrunk as the door opened and out bounced Ebony, it let out a small squeak of surprise and splashes back into the water, with just half the head peeking over the water surface curiously.
That applied for Lazarus as well, as he backed away a few inches when Ebony looked almost like she's going to pounce onto him, his eyebrows raised and his eyes wide. "Ebony?" This was... somewhat uncharacteristic for the purple haired woman. He remembered her being very cool and level-headed, not hyper and jumpy like this. It... almost reminded him of Cordelia somehow, perhaps it was the ponytail pulled up in a similar manner with the Frei. "Are you alright?" He couldn't help but asked curiously, perhaps she caught some hyper bug or something, not knowing the peculiar situation Ebony and Cordelia are experiencing.
When the human pointed at the water jar with the chimera in it, the foxfish flinched again, retreating from the accusing finger and further submerging into the water, with just the little nose left poking through the water surface. Seeing this, Lazarus adjusted his hold on the jar and let it lean on one of his arms, using the other to scratch the creature's chin gently, to calm it down.
"This is a foxfish, he's a chimera made in the Lab." Lazarus explained as he continued to scratch the foxfish, which seemed to be enjoying the little affection, resurfacing it's head through the water with a soft purr. "I'm not sure if you remember it from the kid's pool during the beach party. Turned out it was one of the prizes for the seashell picking contest that me and Cordelia won. I was wondering if she wants to keep it?" Of course, it slipped Lazarus's mind that the Frei had a great fear for water. Sure he noticed it during the seashell picking, but he just thought that she didn't want to get wet at that time.

Won? Keep? Cordelia blinked slow towards the fishy fox and stared intently on its little beady black eyes as it seemed to sense her discontent and tried to back closer to the demonic Sigel, creating great splashes of water to slosh out of its bowl. Not really one for keeping her emotions under raps, Delia cringed and physically took a step or two back herself. Just the sight of water coming anywhere near her seemed to cause the girl to become a mute once again.
After a bit of zig-zagging and furniture bumping, Ebony finally managed to float a straight line to the door. Not that it did her any good now seeing as it was wide open with a positively puzzled looking Lazarus standing in it. Giving a tired sigh, the dark Frei floated up to join them.
Ebony frowned at her charge's sudden change in demeanor and looked the fire Raevan over again with a more skeptical look in her eyes. Did he say or do something inappropriate again? Her hard-edged expression disappeared when she spotted the thing in his arms. Floating in for a closer look at the freaky, yet oddly cute creature, "Didn't you want it for yourself? You won it too Lazarus, so you could have just kept it without telling us. Not like anyone would have known."

Lazarus could only stared in puzzlement at Ebony as she looked in an absolutely horrified manner at the chimera in the water jar. Does she have some sort of hate or phobia for foxes or something? Personally, he thought the little foxfish was pretty cute, and harmless at that. The notion of the other hating the water did not cross his mind, as he don't relate regular humans to water hating. They do take baths daily, right?
"Are you alright? You seem a little... pale." The incubus asked in concern at the retreating human. It was then that Cordelia appeared beside Ebony. "Cordelia! Hey." He was glad that he finally see the Frei, Ebony seemed weird today and was starting to make him feel uncomfortable.
What Cordelia (or Ebony) said made sense though, he could have kept the little critter to himself. "I just feel obligated to tell you that we won it, since it was a team effort after all." He didn't do it alone, so he should at least share the victory with the Frei. "And truth to be told, I'm not sure if I want to keep him." Crimson eyes fell down to the foxfish, which had submerged into the water and looking a little terrified for it's fate. Lazarus don't see himself as a pet-keeping person, and he thought girls liked cute furry stuff. Although the chimera was only half furry, the other half being scaly. He thought it would match the basilisk Raevan nicely.
"So... do you want him?" If Cordelia does not though, he could always bring it home and keep it himself, he will figure something out.

Smokey eyes looked up to the Sigel with a bit of fascinated admiration. It seemed Ebony had been utterly wrong about the true nature of Lazarus. Such polite and chivalrous regard for others, it was refreshing. She felt bad now for thinking so poorly of him for the last several months. Obviously he was the complete, upstanding embodiment of what the first of his kind should be, a perfect role model for the rest. Kyou must be very proud.
"Well..." Ebony eyed the chimera for a moment or so, debating. It wasn't in her nature to just turn something away that needed a home, and the longer she looked at those pathetic puppy dog like eyes, it grew harder to deny the little critter. He looked so scared. Was it because of how she looked?
Tilting down again to be eye level with the bowl, Ebony wagged a finger at the foxfish playfully. "He is kinda cute. Oh, it is a boy right? Oh! I'm sorry, how rude of me! Do please come in Lazarus." She floated aside to allow the elder Raevan in.
Cordelia on the other hand was not happy about any of this. Eyes wide and never really leaving that horrific bowl of water, she grabbed her guardian by the elbow as Laz entered and Ebony shut the door. Voice low so as not to upset her friend, Delia hissed, "Ebby! You can't seriously keep that...that THING!"
"Cordelia, please." she hissed back as she gently removed the girl's death grip on her arm. "The poor thing doesn't have a home. Besides, you could do with some responsibility in taking care of another living being."
"But..." she started to protest, but was cut short as Ebony somehow found the ability to float in a straight line and after the Sigel. Confidence was a strange and powerful force it seemed, but Delia only found it annoying then. She didn't want that water thing in her house let alone her zipcode! But of course, it wasn't up to her. Thus the girl sulked off to another part of the home, getting as far away from it as was physically possible. Yes it was rude to leave her friend, but if Ebby played her part well he wouldn't even be concerned. Cordelia was with him physically as far as he knew.

Lazarus grinned and nodded enthusiastically at the question of the foxfish's gender. "Yeah it's a boy." That much he knew since he did asked Kyou about it, only the scientist knows how to tell since they are his creations after all.
Smiling politely, he nodded a thanks as he floated in slowly with the huge jar, entering Ebony's house for the first time. Curiously he looked around, admiring the cozy interior. The hushed whispers between the two girls behind him however, did not went unnoticed. With an eyebrow raised he turned his head around to look at them, but the only thing he saw was Ebony sulking away. Although... the way she walked seemed a little strange...? He wondered if she was alright.
"I hope I didn't upset your guardian." The Sigel looked apologetically at Cordelia. "She seems... well... upset." And a bit strange at that.
A movement in the jar stirred his attention as the foxfish peeked out of the water surface again, splashing some water over the edge. "Oh yes, do you know where I can set this down? It's.... kind of heavy." The Sigel shifted his arm's position as he try to shift the weight to his left arm, his right feeling a little sore at the moment. Crimson eyes darting around, he tried to look for a somewhere that he could set the jar down, but couldn't find anywhere suitable. Most of the table surfaces were made of wood, and they looked expensive. Plus, he wouldn't want to be intrusive and do something without the resident's consent first.

Floating up to Lazarus's side, Ebony gave the other a confused expression before logic kicked in again. Right...she was the Raevan now and thus her guardian was upset. "Huh? Oh! Well you know Ebony, she's um, just cranky is all. Martial arts injury." she quickly replied. Hopefully that would carry well as to the awkward walking and bad mood.
Eager to move the conversation away from guardians and such, Ebony practically jumped at the chance to help the incubus. "Oh! Sorry, here let me get that then." Just when she went to take the bowl from Lazarus, a large batch of water sloshed over the side and splashed across her arms. Completely innocent and wouldn't have been a problem if it were anyone else or if she were in her own body, but it was Cordelia's.
Ebony gave a scream a moment after the water had hit, sending puffs of smoke hissing towards the air and shots of searing pain through her arms. Though it did little to actually harm her arms (the limbs reforming back to their natural state the moment the infected parts had evaporated), the pain was near unbearable. Like having big chunks of her skin and muscle torn from her body, or rather she imagined that's how it'd feel. Slowly she drifted to what could only be thought of as a "kneeling" position on the wood paneled floor and cradled her arms to her chest.

The scream caught both Lazarus and the foxfish completely by surprised, with the former jerking backwards away from the basilisk Raevan, wide-eyed, and the latter submerging back into the jar with a large splash. It was a good thing that Lazarus jerked backwards though, or else the water splashing would've hit Cordelia too. But instead, Lazarus fell victim to the sudden movements and a large amount of water splashed onto his grey pea coat, creating a large wet spot in front. "s**t..." He cursed aloud.
However, that was not his main concern right now as he quickly set the jar down onto the floor. Since some of the water already wetted the floor anyway, he figured it wouldn't do much difference. Plus the both of them don't have legs, so chances of 'kicking' the jar over seems slim as well. "Cordelia!! Are you alright?" Concern filling his voice as he 'crouched down' to the Frei. He saw the effect the splash of water did to the smoke Raevan, it's kind of like water equals to acid to Cordelia's skin. The Sigel finally understood why she was so afraid of the water when they were at the beach party.
But... just now she seemed eager to help him with the jar... if she knew water had that kind of effect on her, why did she offered to help?
"Are you really alright?" He repeated the question, but this time his tone was a little different, as if pressing the Frei for an answer, an honest answer.

Tears of true pain glittered upon those silver orbs as Ebony rocked back and forth, cradling her arms tight to her chest. Slowly, as the pain began to lessen, her mind began to finally comprehend her charge's unnatural and often debilitating avoidance to all forms of water now. The smoke that made up half of what she was could not mix with the liquid properly and merely caused her body to reject it. It seemed so obvious now that Ebony felt utterly stupid for not realizing it before.
Ebony jumped some when Lazarus questioned her once more (momentarily having forgotten his presence), this time his voice seeming closer than before. It was then that she noticed he'd drifted down to her level in an effort to physically make sure the basilisk was all right. She relaxed some, but closed her eyes to try and will more calm to claim her. Slowly she replied, "I'm...not sure..." Was it her imagination or did the place seem slightly colder all of a sudden?

Cordelia's reply, although brief and simple, only serves to worry him more. At one hand he was glad that she did not try to deny the fact like most usual people do, but on the other hand it might also mean that she was really not alright. His questions would have to be shoved to the back of his mind for now as clearly the Frei needed some form of help.
"Come on." He spoke gently in a comforting tone as he took Cordelia's unharmed hand, his older brotherly quality, his feeling of obligation to take care of the younger Raevans took over. Slowly he took the Frei towards the fire place, remembering that she probably feed off smoke, and also that time when he lit it on fire, she seemed to be in awe and her attitude totally changed. Perhaps it would help her to recover somewhat. After all, there weren't really any scars or wound left on her arm. Although he couldn't begin to imagine how it would feel like to have Cordelia emit a scream like that, there are probably lingering 'ghost pains' left on her arm.
Having settled Cordelia by the fireplace, he set to work trying to light it up. Thankfully there were some firewood left in the fireplace, so he just poked it a little and it immediately lit up. This would perhaps warm the room up as well, as the water episode just now probably left a damp atmosphere in the room.
"Do you feel better now?" He inquired as he took a seat beside Cordelia on the couch.

She hadn't really wanted to move just then, wanting to wait and see whether everything truly was okay. Yet Ebony found she was too tired (and cold) to argue and allowed the older (warmer) Raevan to escort her to the couch. She watched quietly as he attended to the fire, giving a bit of a small chuckle at how easy it had been for him to create it. What she wouldn't give for fire powers right about now.
Not as soon as the fire was lit did Ebony begin to notice a change within. Gradually, though quickly, she could feel the heat seeping in or rather it felt as if her body was drawing it in and soon enough she couldn't feel that uncomfortable level of cold anymore, though it still seemed to linger just off her skin. Sighing with some amount of content and relief, "Yes, much. Thank you." A single smokey gaze looked to the water puddles on the wood floor. She'd just hate it if the water ruined her floor. "I should clean that up."
Meanwhile, Cordelia, having heard the scream, had crept down the stairs to investigate. Though she was still a bit mad at Ebony for dismissing her like she had, the girl would have never forgiven herself if something horrible had befallen her beloved guardian if she could have stopped it.
Peering through the bars of the wooden banister, Delia's eyes narrowed. It was like re-watching a scene from her past with Lazarus, herself and the fire. There was something of a pang in her heart then, something that caused her blood to boil with an ire she wasn't sure how to describe for she'd never really experienced it before. Jealously perhaps? Whatever it was, Delia didn't like it and it only served to make her once again upset at her woman. Thus with a severely pulled down lip, the purple haired girl marched back up to her room to sulk at the injustice placed against her.

The relieved sigh from Cordelia soothed his nerves a little, she seemed alright now with the fireplace lit on. It seemed to really help the basilisk in times of need. When she commented about the water puddle on the floor though, he quickly got up. "Oh, let me help you with that." It was partially his fault after all, and he wouldn't want Cordelia to get near water again, not after that episode just now. "Where does Ebony keep the towels?" He asked curiously as he went towards the water puddle.
The foxfish peeked over the water surface cautiously and with trepidation, not daring to move much in case it splash more water out from the jar. The dark haired lady seemed really upset when that happened. However when it saw Lazarus approaching, it poked more of it's head out of the water surface, as if looking hopeful.
Noticing the foxfish, Lazarus figured that he needed to deal with him as well. "Perhaps I should just bring him home." Seeing as Cordelia couldn't even hold him since he is an aquatic creature. The foxfish wouldn't be much of a pet now wouldn't it? Plus he really don't want to see Cordelia hurt.
The presence of the human down the stairs was totally oblivious to him, since she did not make a sound despite being in an unfamiliar body. Lazarus just assumed that Ebony was feeling unwell and resting in her bedroom.
