I would like!!!
EDIT: Many people say a forum would be too much. How about... D= If we have ideas I'll put them in the main forum or a corresponding forum in a poll and perhaps announce the thread in an announcement? Comment below.
It would go like this!
A thread is posted. Inside is an explanation and a poll. Vote in the poll, usually "I like it" or "I hate it" Then, you may comment as to why you like it or hate it below!
If you have ideas then you can tell us in pm or in the blast, and if it needs to be voted on, we could put it in the main forum! If it's something simple we could just do, we'll do it. =)
Also! Addressing polling using mules. If we really need an accurate vote on something, we could use another site, such as the one we used for the FEF awards, to conduct the poll!
SO! Like it... Or hate it?!
NOTE: By "idea" I mean for the guild. Ideas for the roleplay plot most likely will be discussed in private.

I've already discussed this on AIM with you, Nino, but...
I don't like the idea and I've got a very good reason why. I like the idea of having polls for people to vote on, but I don't think a forum just for them is the best idea for that. If you want people to see the poll, just post it in the root forum, and let people have at it. And when it's served its purpose, then you move it to the Useless forum. That way you still have it archived, and you've gotten your input. If you have a dedicated Polls forum, it'll turn into a place no one ever looks, like a few of the existing forums.
But that's just my two cents.
EDIT after discussion on AIM: Unless you're going to have a ton of polls. Then by all means go for it.

I like the idea in that I think this will encourage more idea agreement between crew and members as far as the events are concerned, but at the same time, i don't feel as if we need an entire forum for it. Plus if EVERYONE (or the majority) agrees on an idea, there goes the element of surprise, and and huge part of the events that is fun for me as a member/participant is not knowing what will come next.
As far as I'm concerned, the crew is in charge of planning out events and setting them into motion. If a member (or members) have an idea/ideas they would like to do for an event, they can do as they have done in the past and talk to a crew member/members about it. And if a character is involved or going to be involved or wants to be involved, them whomever is concerned can talk to crew/member(s) to figure things out.
If someone has an idea concerning something outside of the events, then they are also free to bring that up. I don't see why we need an entire forum for this. And I really don't want to lose that element of surprise for those just participating and not planning. =/
This is just my opinion; everyone else is free to disagree.

I think Gale's got a great idea. You can archive polls as they're finished without devoting an entire forum to them.
And as far as Nini's concerns, I'd imagine the polls don't determine EVERYTHING and that plenty of surprises would still be kept surprises.

I think the idea is silly.
There's so much stress towards people communicating with each other all of a sudden, but this won't do it. Ideas have to be cleared, and then the poster has to wait for people to make their way to the subforum and give input. It just seems like a long, drawn-out process that is mostly doomed to failure, especially with the ability for mules to skew votes, and inevitable clashes on whether or not an idea is worth polling.
It's entirely possible for someone to just go asking around the guild informally, instead of going through those unnecessary rigors. And considering an informal conversation can be a lot more relaxing and prone to intelligent conversation, you may very well get more worth out of your poll by just doing it individually.
You'd be a statistic no matter what, but whether or not someone directly comes to you has to have at least some influence, right? :P

On the fence about this, the CB in Gaia's forums is somewhat made for that, couldn't and shouldn't the CB here be used for that too?

Is there a fourth option for "Need more tweaking to fix"? sweatdrop
I agree with Gale about the idea. We don't need a forum just to create a poll option. It should be placed to the root forum so that the idea will be organized of where the topic is related to.
In addition, we also need to put more options to the poll than just two (aka: I like it or I hate it). After all there may be some ideas that need to be explained in detail and there are some that need some working to the idea.
But other than that, it's a good way for the whole guild to communicate of whether the ideas are good or not.

I think that there might be a better way to communicate between each other. Along the lines of what Rei said, the process would be drawn out. Especially that school is starting up again many people might end up going on hiatus for awhile to study.

Why not make a poll thread and edit it with new polls?

I think using the off-site poll would work as long as there is a thread to debate the issue at hand. though I still have the problem with low activity will affect how long the issue would be up. It can't be helped but it might end up drawn an issue for too long.

You might be right but what if I could announce the poll in a guild announcement?

I dunno..... I rather have the guild announcement be used for event or important announcement. >>;
Maybe in the newsletter, but the guild announcement. However, that's my opinion.
