Her mind was other places thinking over her life and how strange it had been. Befriending lions was out of the question. They were really terrifying. Huge, snarly, disgusting creatures. All she wanted to do was run away and hide from them forever. At least she would be safe. She couldn’t even begin to understand her family as they tried to be nice to lions. Lions were CHEETAH eatters. You shouldn’t be nice to something that eats your own kind. Never would Zaira be nice to a lion. Never would she show any of them friendship. For all she knew they could be lying and then eat her up later. She sighed and wandered outside the pride’s lands hopping to get away from the lions inside.
-------------------------------------------
She was lazing in her tree, which was where she was usually always found. She was happiest hidden among the branches of her tree. The sunshine hit her pelt through the branches, and warmed her and she couldnt help but stretch out, letting her claws extend as she yawned. Her pink tongue curled from her maw, and she smiled. What a life.. She was happy, and nothing could really ruin her day.
Brown eyes glittered, that was, until they closed and she was attempting slumber. Her legs hanging around the branches, and her head resting on the biggest branch of the tree.
She was almost asleep, and hadnt even realized the other coming closer.
---------------------------------------------
Zaira was in a constant state of panic that everywhere she went a lion would jump out and kill her. Why was she so afraid of them? Her family had raised her to love and respect everyone. That everyone was a friend to the cheetah. Where had she come up with such an irrational fear of them?
She slunk low to the ground, her belly narrowly avoiding the dirt below her. If she made herself smaller then she was lions wouldn’t see her. She wouldn’t get eaten that way. But it wasn’t much of a life for the poor girl. She had been so spunky and curious as a cub. Now she was just pathetic with her fear of everything that moved.
----------------------------------------
She heard the bushes and grass moving around her tree, and she perked an ear. Opening one brown eye she looked down at the earth and shook her head. Oh dear. Another creature had wandered upon her high home. She hoped the other hadnt noticed her, but then again..would being a little social now and then really be all that bad?
Her tail hung low from the tree, flicking back and forth much like a snake. She was comfortable, and she wasnt really thinking about getting off her perch to speak to the blue cat. She cocked her head, and stretched her toes, yawning.
"You should likely keep moving, little huntress." She purred.
-----------------------------------
Her mind flashed into a state of panic. Oh god was a lion speaking to her? She quickly looked about till she saw the other in a tree. Taking a deep breath she was glad it wasn’t a lion. It was another smallish cat like herself, probably hiding in a tree not to get consumed herself.
“I’m sorry is this your land?” Her ears flattened against her skull not wishing to intrude on anybody.
“I’ll leave as soon as I can. I’m sorry for intruding.” She squeaked out more nervous then ever as her tail flickered back and forth with cowardice.
---------------------------------------
"You arent intruding." The other yawned, both eyes opening as she lifted her head from her resting position. She wasnt the type to eat big cats.. Even little big cats. She was not hungry, and if she had been, cat wasnt really the flavor she preferred. She could hunt and was no where near a shortage of food to make her even think about cat being good.
"And dont look so scared. Do you think I look like I want to jump down and eat you?" She ased, her voice friendly, though it had the hint of sleep to it. She was tired, but then again, she was always dozing.
------------------------------------------
“Well maybe…” She said thinking about the question. Everyone wanted to eat her according to her own twisted logic. “I’m glad you don’t want to though. I’m not very tasty.” She hoped it would throw the other off if she was tricking her to try and trust her. “No I’m not very tasty at all. I’m just fur and bones!” She reillerated as if making a firm stand that she wasn’t something ANYONE would want to eat. How did she not notice the other in the tree? How could she be so blind to the dangers that lurked above?! This was how her kind got eaten after all.
“I’m glad I’m not intruding.”
------------------------------------------
Huyana merely stared at the other for a moment, as if trying to figure out why she was so scared of a cat that was obviously in no mood to jump from her branch to eat her. She did not want to go anywhere right now, and no one could maker her. But this little cheetah was obnoxious enough for the both of them.
"Im not.. going to eat you. I dont care what you taste like." She grumbled, trying not to roll her eyes. She was a nice leopard, definitely if compared to other leopards.. But she also could be impatient, and it was showing through at t he moment.
---------------------------------------------
“Well you can’t be sure these days! Everyone is always trying to eat Cheetahs!” She slunk down lower into the grass. What if the leopard jumped on her from the tree? Oh that would be terrible! She could never run away if that was the case. The other would defiantly have the advantage over her for sure. Her eyes the fixed back on the point in which she came. It would be best if she ran for the safety of home. She could hide in her den and nobody would try to eat her.
“Well it was nice- er meeting you.” She turned tail and ran in the other direction.
--------------------------
She watched the cub cower to the ground, and snorted shaking her head, turning her head the other direction. She was no longer interested in the cheetah, and the fact that she was so scared did nothing but annoy the bigger cat. She flicked her tail agititatedly and sighed. This was obviously a battle she could not win.
Not that she really cared to.
"Enjoy yourself, youngling." She responded, not looking to see the cheetah take off. She had no more interest in the situation, and was perfectly content falling back asleep.
