Tsubame was happy for Ban'ma, really she was. Ban'ma's cubs were so cute and Ban'ma herself was such a good mother but seeing the new mother with her cubs reminded Tsu of the time with her cubs when they were first born. Which reminded her of the worries she had shortly before the cubs were born. And her worries centered around how she would be as a mother and if she could love her cubs like her own mother did not.

Tsubame paced across the rouge lands a short way away from the pride's borders. She was going hunting but it seemed more like she was the one being hunted or more accurately haunted. Haunted by her dim memories of her mother and the way her life was before she met Achal.

"Damn you mother. Damn you." She growled as she stalked across the grassland searching for prey and gods help them when she found some. Her anger was up and it was being tempered by annoyance and sorrow for that young cub she once was.

User ImageAnother figure roamed the unclaimed lands not far from the pride of lions that were called the Ukuucha'Wafalme. It had been a long time since she had ventured into the mortal realm, as cubs had kept her within the god's haven. They had objected greatly to being confined to that one realm, but she had thought it wise to let them develop some before introducing them to the inevitable evils they would encounter in the mortal realm. Not all gods were worshipped, and she wanted them to be strong enough to take whatever might be thrown at them, physical or otherwise.

When she had finally allowed them a look at the mortal realm, she thought they might have been a bit disappointed. She had dropped them into a rather unremarkable place, far from any pride that they might chance upon. She wanted them to have the opportunity to explore first, before they began meeting the mortals that would judge them without getting to fully know them.

Koya narrowed her eyes slightly, wondering if she had been too harsh, or perhaps just too paranoid, in her decisions. Her own past taught her to take great caution with mortals, for they might turn against you. But could she really generalize a whole race from one incident with one mortal? She stretched her wings, shook them, then tucked them against her body once more, an act that often showed she was troubled by her thoughts and was restless.

No matter, the goddess thought to herself. The past is the past, and will forever remain so. It was long ago, and times have changed. Or so she thought. Though she had spent the good portion of her recent life within the god's haven, she had also spent her fair share among the mortals. She hadn't, however, lived in and among them directly, but rather observed them from afar. Perhaps she was wrong in her judgement.

With these thoughts plaguing and clouding her mind, the silver goddess wandered on, not bothering to notice her surroundings.

When the second rabbit burst out from beneath her paws Tsubame realized she was focusing more on her past demons then on hunting but who could really blame her, nearly all of her current issues stemmed from her abandonment as a very young juvenile. Before she met Achal she had issues with abandonment and being socially and emotionally distant not to mention some serious mental issues that arose from her not believing she was good enough to love.

When she met Achal she finally learned to love but it was by no means a overnight thing and the time she got lost added a twist to her issues. A heavy dose of caution for strangers was tossed in, more so for males then females though. The cubs that they gathered were old enough that while Tsubame had to care for them, and came to love them, it didn't cause the same anxiety that learning she was pregnant caused. When her own cubs were born she feared that she would be incapable of loving the cubs like her own mother was incapable of loving her, this was proven false but that fear still haunted her heart.

The only good thing that came of her emotional turmoil is the mental pledge that she would never leave her family, for any reason.

Tsubame was brought up short from her memories, she forgot about hunting again, when a sound penetrated her mental monologue, the sound of paw steps. She looked up warily and saw a largish gray goddess. She knew it was a goddess for the wings and there was a subtle feeling that infused the air that Tsu had only felt in the presence of Nywele, god of manes. She was also larger then the average lion and when compared to Tsu's slight frame the goddess was quite large. A small sound of surprise escaped her mouth before she could stop it.

Koya continued on, not really sure what she was doing wandering about randomly in the mortal realm. Her chilren were back up in the God's Haven, hopefully with their father. If any of them had managed to sneak away, however...

She shook her head, not wanting to think about the sort of trouble they could get into. Now that they knew how to get down into the mortal realm, she feared that they would do something completely reckless and foolish. She was suddenly panicked, her paws stopping momentarily as she stood, frozen and indecisive. Her first instinct was to rush back to her cubs and reassure herself that no harm had come to them. On the other hand, however, she knew that she was probably overreacting. Her mate often told her so, and her cubs' reactions towards her overprotectiveness proved it. They were smart cubs, and although they could be a bit wild at times, they knew when they pushed things too far.

Coming to this conclusion, the silver goddess continued on in her wanderings. It wasn't long before her eyes noticed some movement in the corner of her field of vision, and her keen ears picked up the sound of someone making some strange noise. They sounded like they had been caught off guard, and Koya knew that she had as well.

Turning her head slowly to look at the other, not wishing to startle whoever it was, she noticed a small female standing frozen, watching her. Koya's ears flattened slightly, and her wings pulled up against her body in a motion of nervousness. It would be useless to hide her immortality now, she knew, since the other had already seen her wings. But she still tucked them close in order to diminish her godly appearance. Not all mortals liked the gods, and she kept this in mind as she stood watching.

When silence was all that remained between them, she felt that she had to make the first move. Positioning herself so that she was facing the other female, she dipped her head slightly in what she hoped would be interpreted as a polite greeting.

"Hello," she spoke, softly but loud enough for the other to hear. Hopefully she wouldn't be attacked.

Tsubame blushed when the goddess spotted her, even if the blush was hidden under her fur. The petite lioness had only ever seen one god before so running into another was quite a surprise. It seemed like the goddess was just as skittish as Tsu was since she tucked her wings in close to her body.

When the goddess nodded and greeted her Tsu answered automatically. "Lady," she said imitating the goddess' head dip but a bit deeper in reverence to the goddess. Even though Tsu was a bit wary of the stranger curiosity was what made her ask politely, "Is there something I can help you with Lady?"

She might have said something more but a flash of memories and its pain made her gasp as she mentally relived her mother leaving that last day. Tsu wished that she had done something to make her stay rather then watch as she just coldly left her young cub behind.
