 After the time it took for Lullaby to heal, enough, Lilith was able to talk with Sam accepting the purple male into their pack. Did it make her happy that he was permanently a part of her life? These new emotions weren’t originally there in her life; she knew Lullaby was the planter of these emotions she just didn’t know how to deal with them. Her conversation with Sam was oddly happy in her life, now that she knew he wouldn’t leave there was no other reason to wait for her next choice in her and Lullaby’s friendship.
She knew it was wrong but the time was right, everything was going well from what Lullaby had told her of friendship. She was there for him and he was there for her, well as much as he could be during his healing process. It had taken the amount of time Lilith had though it would and the fact that she was able to practice in front of Lullaby and hunt for him made her feel… Special, important. Needed. It was so odd to feel these things, but so good at the same time and it was the right time to address another issue that had been storming Lilith.
Should she take their friendship to the next level? Was there a next level? She didn’t know much about friendship all she knew was that Lullaby told her. Was she doing everything correctly? It would seem it, at least to her and she was usually correct about these things. She just had to know more though, this new form of living was so different and so much more than her old ways and it would forever make Lilith want more until there was nothing else.
It was her way; she just couldn’t live properly without knowing what lies ahead. It could be pain filled and horrible, Lullaby could have lied to her to make her do as he wished to fix him up and become stronger to overpower her. But luckily even if that was the case Lilith knew his weak points, she had opened his leg and looked at him, she knew that wolf like she knew her own body.
Which was odd, she should know a friend that much?

 Lullaby could stand on his own four feet again, though he was still in a lot of pain, and he could only limp short distances without assistance from Lilith. The alpha had returned, and welcomed him into the pack happily, though these days the big male seemed distant. Lullaby figured it was just because he was an omega, and the alpha was, well, the alpha. Lilith had really been the go-between, as she had been made Sam's beta, and was very proud in her position. It was all for her that he had been accepted as a member in this pack, and for that he was grateful.
Every time he saw Lilith, though, a smile crossed his face. Butterflies entered his chest and stomach from time to time when he thought about her, and he thought about their relationship, and if it was even allowable for him to approach her about taking it to the next level. Could he admit that he thought he loved her? Would he have to explain what love was to her as he had explained the concept of friendship? He had no idea, and he wasn't even sure he knew how to explain love.
He gave a bored sigh as he sat in the mouth of Lilith's cave-den, having limped there by himself. He had awoken alone, but was certain that the female was close by, maybe hunting for him, which he felt bad about. One day, he hoped to return the favor to her in full. He was patient, however, and was allowing himself to heal fully before he tried anything too intense, not wanting to go through the whole process a third time.

Lilith’s pacing outside stopped and she took a deep intake of breath, she knew what to do what to say but didn’t know what would happen. That wasn’t fair, she always had an idea about what would happen what another would say do or act upon but this was completely new to her different, none-understandable in her eyes.
But she knew she could do it, she had to the next level was just out of reach, she could feel it. Something had been growing in her, she knew something more then what should be there but either it was bad or good and for some reason Lilith felt Lullaby had the answer. Hurrying inside further Lilith viewed Lullaby in the distance, “Lullaby I wish to speak with you about our friendship.” How would she word this for him to understand? She knew she spoke differently from others now and it was odd… But she would not break herself f that.

Lullaby's tail wagged as he watched the female approach him, though there wasn't much tail to wag, he still did his best. As she drew nearer she spoke, the words worried him instantly. It never seemed to be a good thing when the connotation was 'We need to talk'. "Sure thing, Lilith." he answered, turning towards her as she passed him, and following her into her den.
He sat before her, careful of his leg. After making sure he wasn't going to sit on his short tail, he focused his full attention on the female, hoping for the best. He was afraid she would renounce their friendship, saying once again that it was useless and unnecessary. His brows furrowed as he waited for her to speak, finding no words for himself.
He nodded for her go to ahead, and steeled himself for what she had to say.

Lilith had to resist the urge to pace again, she was under focus now and that meant she had to relax and be the ‘friend’ she was to Lullaby. But she didn’t want that, she wanted the next part of friendship the next thing that she can reach and surpass. There just had to be something more, it didn’t feel right any longer. All the time they had spent together, almost as if they were healing one another instead of just Lullaby.
“I wish to know what the next level of friendship is supposed to be in this odd form of relations between wolves.” Simply as that, no reason to beat around the bush just jump right in, but what if there isn’t a next level? What if Lilith will forever be stuck in the same circle of friendship she has been with Lullaby?
Frowning Lilith pushed the thought away, ‘Then I will make a next level.’

Lullaby leaned to the side, keeping pressure off his healing leg. He cocked his head and attempted to understand what she was saying to him. The next level after being friends was being mates. He felt those feelings for her, but wondered if she was capable of feeling the same for him. He now was afraid of having to explain the concept of love.
"Um," he tried to buy himself time as he thought. "I've always thought that the next level was to become mates." he suggested, suddenly feeling very strange. Was this even right?
"Lilith... I care for you deeply." he confessed. "I feel a great love for you, and if you can feel the same for me, I would be honored to be your mate." he sputtered, his cheeks growing hot.

Lilith’s eyes widen, what was this wolf talking about? Love? Mates? This must be false, friendship turns to mating? How would their friendship thrive then if they become mates? Wouldn’t mates lead to pups? Would Lilith be able to have pups with Lullaby? Would she be able to mate with Lullaby would be the first question.
His emotions were stirring emotions in Lilith that she didn’t wish to feel, that were caring her. Why did he have to jump to such winded emotions from something that was so peaceful… “I… do not understand your meaning. How does one fall in love and feel so thoroughly bent on believing the next level is to mate?”
She… She didn’t want to mate? Right? Thinking back on the events between them Lilith could remember her body heating further as time went on knowing him, was that signal that she further wanted to develop into his mate?
She just didn’t know! And Lilith didn’t like knowing. Growling Lilith’s frowned turned into a scowl, “I believe you are lying.”

Oh dear. Now he had done it. His inability to explain things well had led him down a path of destruction. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." he insisted, now being accused of lying to the female he cared so much about. "It's not like that, the next level isn't to mate at all." he sputtered once again, struggling to make his point more clear.
"The next level is love, simply love." he didn't want to say the word mate again, realizing that though he knew it to mean they were simply a couple, a pair, she may think it meant to mate, to produce offspring. "And I love you." he offered, once again putting himself out there to be hurt by her. He wasn't sure why, but her misunderstanding hadn't put him down as far as he thought it would have.

Continuing her frown Lilith relaxed, it seemed better in theory but this term of love still didn’t make sense to Lilith. “What is this love you speak of?” Was it another emotion triggered like friendship? Was friendship an emotion? It had seemed to bring out emotions in her in the last few weeks or so with Lullaby around.
Maybe she just had to try it out to understand it? Was he lying again and just trying to trick her to mate? What would be so bad with mating? Her frown increased at the thought when she couldn’t figure out an answer to that question. She wouldn’t make a good mother that’s for sure, and Lullaby was too weak by a long shot for the offspring that Lilith would birth. But maybe having pups would toughen him?
What was she thinking! Was she truly trying to figure out their offspring results within themselves before they were even born? Wait… “Does this love lead to mating?” She didn’t like tricks and if Lullaby meant to make her believe love was another form of mating… She would be… angry?

"I guess, eventually? But it doesn't have to either, it's not set in stone." he answered truthfully. She was asking him about love, and he had no idea how to explain it. Maybe that was the explanation, though?
"I'm not sure how to define love. It's a strong feeling towards another, a warmth and happiness that surpasses friendship." he wondered if he would have to explain jealousy too. If his friend were to be with another male, he wouldn't care... but if his love, his mate, were to be with another male... he would be very jealous, he thought. But that was for later, though hopefully it wasn't for later, hopefully it was for never.
"I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense." he apologized, hoping to brighten her face again, to make her less agitated with him. He hated it when anyone felt negatively towards him, but he would be strong.

Lilith’s frown looked as if it would forever be there, this wasn’t making any sense and yet to her it was in the slightest way. “Eventually… there will be mating… Which means pups correct?” Long term thoughts were Lilith’s specialty.
“I do not go into something without thinking thoroughly though it.” This expression of emotion was odd for her; it was a strong feeling towards another… But wouldn’t that mean friendship could also be replaced with love? Maybe Lullaby was blind and he was just confused by his own emotions? But how would she be able to say that when she herself is not able to figure out emotions so bare to another.
“Emotions are not meant to make sense, they are meant to rule the mind and make you help choices that are hard on you.” Her mind was blank thinking hard on what to say, what to respond with… Did she want this with her and Lullaby’s relationship?

The purple male nodded as he listened to his friend. She was more insightful about emotions than he thought, and seemed to have a good grasp on them from what she was now saying. "Eventually, if we want." he replied, still unsure of where she was headed with her words. Her frown was still there, and it made him very unhappy, though he was too frightened at this point to go to her and wipe the frown from her pretty maw.
The hell with it.
He smiled at her, very softly, and arose to walk to her side, avoiding limping as much as possible to show her that he was getting stronger every day. As he reached her side, he softly touched her cheek with his muzzle, and gave her a soft lick. He wondered if he was helping or hurting the matter, but had already made up his mind to stay close to her until she cast him away of her own accord.

Lilith’s frown stayed put as she watched the purple male come forward and… And lick her cheek? Her body flushed at the contact and it was… nice? This didn’t make any sense to her, why was she responding to the male when he was so… at the current moment she couldn’t think of anything negative about Lullaby being a future mate if needed. It might be pleasant, they already know how to have a good conversation and both enjoy silence when talking isn’t needed.
Taking a step back Lilith looked over the male, “You… didn’t ask permission.”
And as the time went on she still couldn’t think of anything bad between them of mating being bad or a life… together? Was this love or was this Lullaby convincing her of love? Maybe it was both, maybe that’s what love was to be convinced of your partners need for you? “May… I return the favor?” stepping forward again Lilith’s frowned turned into a smirk, she didn’t over step her bounds if she wasn’t allowed to.

Lullaby waited for what seemed like forever as Lilith worked out what was going on, and what she would do in reaction to his advances. When she stepped away from him, he wanted to frown so badly, to feel sad and hurt, but he kept himself smiling for as long as he needed. He felt almost relieved when she noted that he hadn't asked for permission. It wasn't the end of the world.
He took the quiet time between them to think about her, and himself, and where they might be going. He knew his alpha, Sam, didn't allow mates to be different ranks in his pack, so either Lilith would have to step down to the low of the low, or a miracle would have to happen in the new few days. He knew that if he could be allowed to prove himself to Sam, he would make a good beta alongside Lilith.
He was jarred from his thoughts, however, when Lilith spoke again, asking for permission to lick his own cheek, to touch him in a loving way. He smirked back, retuning the expression. "Forever and ever." he answered, simply.

Smiling Lilith came forward upon the male, pups weren’t such a bad thing she had never taken care of young before and with Lullaby she could do anything he would surely be there to help her. Inching closer to the male Lilith licked the side of his check her body heating with the urge to fast forward to their next actions. They didn’t have to right away but Lilith didn’t like to beat around the bush.
She would have to speak with Sam thoroughly about their rank change she wasn’t going to step down for sure she would just have to train Lullaby just as she had done the others in her old pack. As simple as that, it would only take a certain amount of time and Sam would have to agree once he knew she was with pup right?
She wasn’t trying to trick him but her emotions for once were getting away from her and she wasn’t willing to give up such a challenge, she was going to be with this Lullaby male who was worthy in her eyes. Worthy enough to… love?
Yes.
