This is a lovely place holder. rofl
PostPosted: Fri Sep 03, 2010 11:38 am

Name: Morgan A. Everett

Nickname: Mae. Morgan's grandmother never really approved of a boy's name like Morgan and insists on calling her by her feminine initials. If you are not her Nana, don't expect her to respond to you. Mor to close friends, occasionally Mo. Her fake I.D. has her name down as Isabel Cohen.

Age: 19

Birthday: July 25th

Sign: Leo (on the Cancer cusp)

Gemstone: Onyx (Leo) and Amber (by choice)

Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food: Chorizo fondue with tortilla chips. Morgan enjoys savory foods over any others, soft pretzels are her favorite treat although dark chocolate is a close second.

Hated Food: Eggs, it doesn't matter how they are prepared: omelettes, scrambled, fried or bennies.

School: Sovereign Heights, thinking about majoring in psychology or business (marketing). She's not sure yet.

Hobbies:

Aromatherapy- Scent is a powerful thing that can attract or repel people; thankfully Morgan loves to smell good. She's one of those lucky people who have a high tolerance for strong scents and covers herself head to foot in scented products. When it comes to perfumes and bath products, she's like a moth to a flame. If you ever have to get her a gift, anything from the Body Shop or a similar store will do. Her minor obsession with scent has lead her into being keen on essential oils. She has a couple books on the oils and their effects on both the mind and body, including a few recipes for body products. Recently she has started to test out these recipes and has been making her own bath salts and face masks. Having a home spa day is her favorite way to unwind.

Art gallery/museum exploration- Morgan is not an adept artist herself (she can only paint color fields and abstract things) but that doesn't diminish her love for art. She could spend hours pouring over art history books or wandering a gallery. Set on becoming a 'cultured' adult, Morgan has become a junior member of the local museum and several galleries. Occasionally she does a bit of volunteer work at the museum, but she usually just shows up for exhibition openings and art functions in the gallery circuit. It makes her feel very grown up to ponder the meaning of whatever is on show. If there is some sort of art show on, Morgan is probably there. Her favorite styles are Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art; she adores kitschy artists like Warhol and Lichtenstein.

Catalog browsing- The day the Ikea catalog comes in the mail is almost like Christmas for Morgan. Shes loves to flip through catalogs and home design magazines, admiring all the things she wishes she had. Pretty material objects make her world go around, especially furniture. If she had her way, she would live in a magical apartment with a decor that changed every season. To her, the Ikea catalog (and similar) are a symbol of everything the world should be: bright, happy and impeccably decorated. The pictures are what really draws her in. Almost every staged scene or room is inviting to Morgan; she wants to live in the catalog. Why? Because it's always perfect, cool or cozy. Everyone always looks like their having a good time in catalog pictures, which has lead Morgan to equate happiness with material objects. The catalog world is Morgan's idea of heaven and a furniture store is practically her playground. Lesson: Do not take Morgan furniture shopping, she'll never want to leave the store.

B Movies- Morgan is a huge fan of pop culture and the latest 'it' thing, but B movies are her secret guilty pleasure. They're so bad they're good. She can't help but crack up at the silly lines and bad costumes. She particularly enjoys things like Mystery Science Theater 3000 and bad Ed Wood style monster movies. They bring out her inner nerd.

The latest trend- Everybody is doing it! Morgan is going to do it too, at least once. Morgan likes to keep up with latest and greatest thing to do, whatever is popular right now. When she was a kid, there was always things like pogs and tamagotchis that she desperately wanted needed. Recently, she's been doing hot yoga. Three years ago it was pilates and in junior high she tried Tae-Bo. When the next popular thing to do comes along Morgan will leap at the chance to give it a try. She'll do just about anything once, including jump off a bridge if everyone else is doing it. Peer pressure works.

Virtues:
A keen eye- When someone is as keen on the visual arts, it's necessary to learn to use your eyes and pick up on the details. It's a skill Morgan has learned very well. Morgan is a very perceptive girl when it comes to visual things. She knows what's in the environment. Like, did you see that redheaded girl in the purple shirt drop candy on the floor and promptly follow the 5 second rule? Morgan did (and she was only slightly grossed out). That man is wearing a toupee, obviously. There's a chip in that water glass. Did you know there's a spider in your hair? She's the type of girl who is always taking notice of what is going on around her. She's especially good at picking up on body language. Someone's stance or facial expression can tell her a lot about them. If someone looks like they've had a bad day, Morgan can tell; she might not do anything to help them, but at least she's aware.

Communicative- Communication is key and its something Morgan does very well. Her voice is full of ease and confidence. She's not the type to stumble on words or have trouble speaking in public. Instead, she's very relaxed when it comes to making a speech or presentation. Quick witted, words rarely fail her in most situations ranging from debate, snappy comeback or clever double entendre. In one-on-one situations, she's generally friendly and open. Making small talk is hardly ever a problem for her, neither is flirting. Morgan is blessed with being able to get the message across, be it with words or sexy pout and hair twirl.

On the other hand, being a good communicator also means being able to listen. Listening isn't as easy as talking for Morgan, but she does make an effort. When a topic is interesting (or at least juicy enough), she's all ears. When it comes to dull things and people, her focus tends to shift away from them and she'll take over the conversation. Communication is a two way street, and Morgan will always attempt to meet you halfway. Keeping it halfway is the hard part.

Open to experience - Morgan will try anything once. At her best, she's a fun-loving girl who is up for just about anything (as long as it's "cool"). She believes that first hand experience is the best way to grow and learn; variety is the spice of life. Trying new things builds character! Generally, she prefers her new experiences to be social ones; she'll go to parties and clubs where if she sees someone doing something and enjoying it, she's likely to give it a go herself. She out looking for positive experiences most of the time, not negative. She wouldn't physically hurt someone on purpose just because she sees someone else doing it (she needs a real reason to do that sort of thing). While peer pressure works on her very well and much of her new experiences are monkey-see-monkey-do, she has her boundaries. To make sure she's able to get the most out of her young, in college so let's experiment life, she has a fake I.D. which claims she is 22 year old Isabel Cohen.

When life gives you lemons
- Morgan makes lemonade, hard lemonade. Flexibility should be her middle name. She can adapt to changing situations with ease. When things don't go as planned, she makes the best of what she has. Even in difficult situations, she'll try to make the best of it and turns things around to be in her favor. If she was to bake a cake and discovered that she was out of milk, well that's okay she'll just use water instead. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. When there's no salvaging the situation, or no chance that she'll get something her way, Morgan backs off completely. She's like a kid in playground; she'll share her toys and play the game, but if someone pushes her around she's going to take her ball and leave. She'll go and find something else worth her time.

Flaws:

Capricious- Morgan changes her mind just as often as she changes her clothes. It takes her at least half an hour to choose an outfit for the day (and stay with it). She's constantly changing her opinions on just about everything. One day she might like a boy, the next day he's yesterday's news. She's fickle and flighty. Without a moment's notice she can decide to change plans or cancel them entirely. Her major has changed twice. As a kid, she painted her room over and over, because she changed her mind about what colors she liked. She's the kind of girl who follows her whims, wherever that may take her. Long term commitments are not really her cup of tea. She's not ADD, but she's pretty easily entranced by new, shiny things... until something else catches her eye, then it might as well be trash.

Self-Serving- It's all about M.E. (Morgan Everett that is). Morgan has no problem helping others, as long as she can get something out of it. She'll use people to her best advantage and has no problem stepping on some toes to get where she wants to be. The bottom line is what's in it for her, what is in her best interests. The ship is going down? She's doing everything she can to get off. Stranded on a desert island with friends and no food? She would turn to cannibalism. She is definitely not above selling someone out if it is in her best interests. The only exceptions are close friends and family, if only because she sees them as an extension of herself; they are part of her property. If someone she cares for needs her, Morgan will help if she is able to. Granted, her help will be at her convenience and that person better be appreciative.

Green with Envy- It's a material world and Morgan is a material girl. She likes to have the latest gadget, the best laptop and new clothes. She likes to think she has the best legs and cutest top. If you have something and she doesn't, you can bet she'll lust after it and try to out do you with something better. This also tends to her being very boastful once she has acquired the objects of her desire. When someone has what she can't get, Morgan turns into a total b***h. She'll spread rumors that so-and-so slept with the professor to get an A, when she worked hard and only got a B+. She'll flirt mercilessly with your boyfriend if she thinks he's more attractive than her date. She'll play footsies under the table with him and let it slip that you wet the bed till you were 14. It doesn't matter whether something is true or not, if she can't get something equally good or better, she'll do whatever she needs to have yours. When someone/something new comes along, she'll lose interest and turn her attention to that. In the meantime, if you have something she wants she might just 'borrow' it until she can get her own. In short, if Morgan gets jealous she is down right catty about it.

"I am so smart, S-M-R-T" (vainglorious)- One of Morgan's problems is that she likes to make herself seem more important and impressive than really she is. Morgan is a reasonably smart girl; she does well in school and can work hard. But, no matter how well she actually does, she makes every effort to sound like she's better than that. She's driven to look and sound as educated as she can, even when she's not in actuality. She'll use large, fancy terms just to sound clever, although she really doesn't know what that word means. She has all the knowledge and experience of a college kid, but pretends to be more. She wants to impress people with how cultured she is, how witty is she. In reality, half of what she says is complete bullshit. She makes things up when she's not sure what the real answer on a test is. She'll make up stories just to impress someone. Even when she does know something about a topic, like art, she'll tries too hard to sound intellectual.

Here's a chart to summarize!

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Average in size in the typical almond shape. Color is a green-amber . Usually she has smokey dark eyeliner to help the color pop.

Hair: Morgan has loose curly hair in a dark red-violet, similar to black cherries (or aubergine like eggplant). It's styled in a short asymmetrical bob (slightly longer in front), loosely modeled after 1920s flappers. She has an addiction to barrettes and headbands and usually has one or the other on. Reference (or sorta like the SD Sentiel, but shorter, without a bun and more purple-y) Can have some side swept bangs.

Face: A slender oval shape with a pale ivory complexion, Morgan's face doesn't have any really outstanding features. She nose is slightly hooked, but not large. Her mouth is an average size with pert lips. She takes care of herself though, her eyebrows are always neatly plucked and she rarely leaves the house without some make-up on.

Body: Morgan has a svelte-ish body and stands above average at 5'8". She's not particularly muscular and has curves where it counts, but otherwise she is slender. Her feet are fairly big though, she takes a 9 shoe.

Style: When not in her school uniform, Morgan's style fluctuates with her mood. Some days she will dress casually with a simple blouse and jeans, other days she will mix vintage pieces with contemporary styles and wear a bold mod mini dress over skinny jeans. Her favorite styles of clothing are usually vintage inspired.

Senshi: Sailor Circe, Senshi of Metamorphosis

*Circe is a dark main belt asteroid named after the sorceress in the Odyssey who transformed Odysseus's men into pigs. In other mythological stories Circe is responsible for turning few people (Scylla, Glaucus, etc.) into monsters/animals, as she is a jealous b***h (like 80% of divine beings). Despite that, she does have a nice side. She purified the Argo and its sailors on the request of her niece, Medea. She was also a pretty generous hostess to Odysseus, after transforming his men back to normal, keeping him for a year on her pleasure-filled island.

Here is a lovely definition of metamorphosis from dictionary.com:
1.Biology . a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism, as from the caterpillar to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly.
2. a complete change of form, structure, or substance, as transformation by magic or witchcraft.

Inspirational things:
-[x] Dr. Venture as a caterpillar.
-Examples of caterpilla/moth "eye" designs. x x x x
- Circe, by John William Waterhouse (also with a sort-a mothy eye pattern on her dress!)

Challenge: It's time for a change! or time for you to grow up

Fuku Colour:

Main: a very dark green (a bit on the teal side or grey-ish?)
Secondary: a creamy color, like french vanilla or soft bright green (something like Gianfar's colors), gold accents (tiara and such)

Up to Natsu really! Tweak all/any colors as you please (hair+ eyes included)! I'm open to color suggestions/alterations too, if there's something that would look better/more interesting!

Possible color palette: x

Fuku:
Concept Ideas: caterpillar-y (like catepillar/moth "eye" circle designs, maybe on the hem of skirt/collar or bodice+ bows)? or silky ? (silk worms have a complete metamorphosis cycle : D )

Maybe a tight or non-floofy skirt (pleated or streamlined doesn't matter, as long as it's not huge or super puffy)?
And either a teeny-tiny caplet or wrap/shrug/bolero OR a tiny cute vest version of the traditional sailor collar. Basically just something that could grow in the super stage and be a bit cocoon like? Attached or unattached to bodice. Maybe a strapless 'sweetheart' style bodice piece?
And, cutest boots ever please. Amber jewels.

Gloves/bows/jewelery/tiara/everything else all up to Natsu. I'm not too picky about styling and stuff, so more or less whatever you'd like to do! I bow to your whims! heart

Attacks:

Sailor Attack 1a: Molt Boost (may need a better name?)
Circe claps her hands together as she says the phrase. When she pulls her hands apart, there's a small glowing sphere which is pushes towards and 'into' her chest. She beings to glow. While glowing her skin feels tougher, harder. She can withstand damage a little better. The glowing lasts for around 10 seconds (or one enemy post). After which the glow seems to break and shed off of her, dissolving into nothing. When it sheds, Circe is left feeling a little bit refreshed, like she had a quick shot of caffeine or a rush or adrenaline. She feels like she has more energy and can fight a bit longer. Any physical damage she has is still present, she would just feel a bit numb to it. It can be cast only twice per battle (no matter how energetic she might feel).

Super Sailor Attack 1b: Chrysalis Guard (???)
Like above, Circe creates a glowing golden sphere between her hands, but now it unwinds like a ribbon, encircling her. The ribbon covers her body, quickly hardening and stops glow. It basically becomes like light armor. Unlike before, the protection lasts up to 30 seconds, softening harsh blows and minimizing light attacks. When the guard breaks or time is up, it dissolves away again leaving Circe with renewed vigor. The armor can be broken easily by a couple strong physical attacks, but take a few hits before breaking from light attacks. It can be cast twice per battle, but the second time the armor is weaker and will only last 15 seconds.

Pro:It gives her great boost in defense.
Con: It's like when a caterpillar goes into its pupa stage, creating a protective candy coating around itself. Like that stage, Circe's movement is restricted, she becomes slow. She can still move though (did you know some bugs can move while in their cocoon? they totally can!). The down side to moving about is it wears down her protection by half, lasting only 15 seconds the first time around and 7-8 the second. If she wants the full 30 seconds of protection, she has to stay still.

Eternal: Crowning Metamorphosis

Circe creates a glowing sphere in her hands and directs it take either herself, or an ally. Upon impact the target feels a burst of energy, like they've almost become someone new. What this power does is briefly give someone an extreme boost in defense and some speed. For up to 30 seconds, anyone under her magic has a much higher endurance. During this time they resist damage 3 times better than normal. Attacks against her/them do much less damage, if at all (depending on skill level). Low level attacks are deflected and high attacks do a fraction of the damage they normally would. The magic also has the effect of making the target's speed and reflexes 1.5 times faster; a small but noticeable increase. If she chooses someone else to receive her power, there is the chance that the magic could be intercepted by an enemy, or it could even miss the target.

This power can be used only once per battle, or until Circe regains some strength (via magic or sleep). After using it, Circe and her target if there is one, become much weaker than normal as the power consumes a lot of energy. Resulting in her (or the target) becoming lethargic and fragile.

Morgan's seeming like a cool person so far, character-wise! c: Upon reading through her for the first time I don't have any complaints, and I like how you used her motivations to show how everything runs together. ^^

As far as the power sphere goes, Metamorphosis / Transformation seems like a hard one to make a satisfactory attack set for since you have so many possible options, but can only settle with a few. XD This isn't me telling you you should change it, but if you want some help brainstorming you can hit me up on AIM / Gchat / MSN.

Thanks Mouse! I'm trying to make her interesting and fun to play, without being too similar to others. Although, for some reason she's starting to remind me of Veronica Lodge, without the money. XD

And it's really nice of you to offer help brainstorming! I might send you a PM if that's ok, my schedule is a bit erratic for longer chats.

Okay! I think I have come up with some workable powers! Just need to pick an eternal. (I also have alternative 1a and 1b, if it doesn't work out)

I'm up for any input! heart

The Super attack you have is too different from the starter one to work -- you're changing a defensive move to an offensive one with that. A Super attack needs to be an upgrade of the first one, and with that in mind it needs to keep the same basic idea.

How about for starter she uses a molt (some metamorphosis involves shedding one's skin a set number of times) instead of a full chrysalis, and then the full chrysalis can be super or Eternal? You could even have her be able to heal herself a tiny bit with this path, e.g. at the Super stage she starts being able to "shed" damage as well as have the momentary bit of shielding.

Since the Eternal is a hallucination... I think that's a bit off-target because your power sphere doesn't involve them. onoa

Ok. I see what you mean with the attacks different-ness. I'll have to try and think of something else.

I wonder if the alternative 1a/1b would work better?

I'm going to dwell on your suggestions Mouse (they're great! and actually work well with the alt powers I had) and see how I can incorporate some of them.

*goes to dig up/ put up alts*

EDIT: OK. Changes made! Although I wonder if the Eternal is too different now? or that is that an acceptable different?

*edit again* I just fully understood the suggestion, it took me a week but I totally get it now, genius!
PostPosted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:03 pm

YOU ARE GETTIN' CLOSE. I had to spend a while thinking about the Eternal attack since... hmm. It seems to be more about the bugs than about the concept of metamorphosis, if that makes any sense? Like, in the first two attacks she's actually 'transforming' in a way -- and in the last one she's doing a summons.

So lemme make another suggestion. Since you have sailor -> super -> eternal as larva -> chrysalis -> imago...

The imago stage is:
1. the final / highest state of being an insect reaches, or it's approached like that symbolically a lot of the time
2. often very short-lived

So you could have Circe able to transform herself / others into some sort of enhanced state for a short amount of time? There doesn't necessarily have to be a change in appearance with this, it's the symbolism of it that counts. :> One thing you could do with this is pretty much give them a 20 ~ 30-second invincibility star of sorts.

Invincibility star complete with Mario-star music!?

<3 that is the best idea ever. Thanks for the suggestion! I really like it! I just need to think how to go about it.

Omfg I love that eternal idea. XD XD XD
