PRP Between Summer and myself.

(Summer) "Mom!! Stop!" The young pink and black cub cried out as his mother continued to bath him. "Come on mom, I'm just going to get dirty again, let me go swim!" The young lion wriggled in his mothers paws. He thought he was too old for a bath, but his mother still insisted.

Finally, he wriggled out from under her firm grasp and made a mad dash for the waters edge. "Sorry mom!" He called behind him as he ran as fast as his small paws could carry him.

Soon he was at the beach, letting the hot sand claim his paws for only a moment before he dove into the waiting water. He sighed, his muscles and lungs burning from the sprint, but he was home.

(Kir) With the bright sun on her back, Aphrodite was perfectly content as she sunbathed. The water was a far enough distance away from her, that she didn't have to worry about the tides coming up and gobbling her. Oh how she was deathly afraid of the water. But she dare not tell anyone, as they'd just pick on her. Her older sister did all the time, and it made her uncomfortable.

Her tail flicked slightly as her eyes opened to the sound of another. Her eyes blinked at the bright sun before she turned towards the water. Ah, there was the source of the sound. A figure in the water, that looked no older than herself. Well, he looked like he was having fun.

(Summer) Kota let his body float on the water, his head, and the black stripe on his back was all that was visible. He let his legs dangle in the water, letting it soothe his aching muscles.

After a while he started to pad through the water, every now and then dunking his head under to look for treasure, or snap at a fish that darted by him.

He made sure to stay in shallow water, not wanting to be washed out to sea. He knew he wasn't as strong of a swimmer as his dad, but that didn't mean he couldn't have fun.

(Kir) Her pink eyes watched the male curiously. He appeared to be having fun and he didn't notice her! With a slight huff to herself, she got up and went a little closer to the shoreline.

She sat down and called out to the male, "You look like you're enjoying yourself. Don't let the water eat you!"

(Summer) By this time, Kota was on his back. When he heard the voice, he quickly spun around to look for the source of the voice, water splashing in every direction.

He looked towards the shore, and spotted someone, "Eat me?" He laughed lightly, "The water won't eat me." He said as he swam closer to the shore. "I eat it!" He said as he mouthed at the water, laughing lightly.

(Kir) She shook her head, "Of course it will! The water can eat a small cub so easily!" Aphrodite clicked her tongue at the male's response.

Eat the water? It tastes horrible! "The water is horrible, don't bother drinking it!"

(Summer) He laughed and swam to the shore, shaking the water off his soaking fur. "Well yeah, but I'm not a small cub." He said as he sat down in the sand. "And I keep close enough to the shore so I don't get carried away." He said as he looked back to the water.

(Kir) As he spoke, she looked at him. Well, that was rather smart. "Unlike my sister who thinks she can go as far out as she wants." She shook her head.

"I'm Aphrodite. Nice to meet you. I don't think I've seen you around here before. Are you new?" She asked curiously, he didn't look like a typical Bahari lion. Oh! Was he an outsider that came to the pride? She smiled, his colors were nice. A pinkish purple, almost a couple shades from her color.

(Kir) She blinked, really? Now this was new. Who would have thought...he didn't look the same as her brother. Perhaps his parents weren't from here then. Who knows.

"No you probably wouldn't, as I don't come around the shore all too often. You've probably seen my siblings a few times though." She nodded.

"It is nice to meet you, Kota."

(Summer) He smiled, "That's probably why." He looked back to the waters. "I'm almost always here." He looked past her to the dens, "My home is just over there." He said, "It's the closest beach, and I can't stand to be away from the water too long."

(Kir) Her head shifted towards the direction of where Kota pointed out his den. "Ah! My den is over this way some." She pointed in the opposite direction.

That was common with a lot of lions here, they just loved the water. "That's like my sister then, she loves the water. Always in it or trying to get me wet." She shook her head. "I'm not as fond of it as most though."

(Summer) He looked at her with a strange expression, "Not fond of water?" He asked. "Why?" He asked as he curled his tail around his paws. It was odd to hear her say that. Water was like air to him. He needed it to live.

(Kir) His question made her pause as her ears lowered slightly and her face heated up. Her voice was soft as she replied, "Because it's just not for me. My sister picks on me all the time because I'm a horrible swimmer."

She looked at him, hopefully he wasn't like that afterall. Tyche was enough terror that she could deal with afterall!

(Summer) He laughed lightly at her confession, "A bad swimmer?" He smiled as he stood, "Thats not possible. Your apart of the Bahari. We're the best swimmers in all of Africa." He smiled as he puffed up his chest in pride of who he was.

(Kir) "That might well be...but not me! Nope!" She shook her head. Aphrodite was not part of the elite, good swimmers. She was part of those lions whose feet did not leave the dry ground.

"I'm much better on the dry ground, than the wet." She looked down at her paws and shuffled them slightly as she mumbled, "I am afraid of water."

(Summer) He looked at her with an almost sad look. Afraid of water? That's terrible! It was almost torture, being afraid of water living in a pride on he beach.

"Afraid of the water?" He asked, "I'm sorry." He said, his tail swaying in the sand softly. He then got an idea, "If you want, maybe I could help you?" He said smiling lightly, "I mean, if you want to, I can't imagine being afraid of water around here." He said, looking around, "It would be like living in a nightmare."

(Kir) Her eyes got real wide as she shook her head. "Oh no I couldn't! My sister picks on me enough...even tricked me into going into the water when she was pretending to drown."

She moved her paw around in the sand, "I don't I can do it right now, I get all frozen."

(Summer) He laughed lightly at her reaction, "Okay." He smiled and rolled around in the sand, "Maybe we could later?" He asked as he looked up to her when he was lying on his back.
"Your sister sounds real mean too" He mentioned off handily.

(Kir) Shyly glancing at the water, she wasn't so sure she'd be able to get into it. Much less have fun. But not to be such a downer, she slowly nodded, "Maybe later..." Her voice trailed of uncertain.

Her eyes narrowed as she huffed, "She is! She makes fun of me all the time," She paused as her voice lowered a notch, "It makes me feel bad becaue I can't be like everyone else in the pride and go in the water."

(Summer) He smiled, his tail wagging at her answer. He'd love to be able to swim with her. She seemed fun.

"Well, at least you can chill on the sand and not worry about getting your fur all dirty." He said as he rolled his eyes, "The only bad thing about swimming, is the bath you have to take after."

(Kir) She giggled softly, "The sand can be sticky at times though, especially when I walk on a wet part that doesn't want to come off of my fur. Then it's bath time." Her tongue stuck out at the end of this statement.

"Though, I don't mind playing in the sand. It is fun." She nodded before she heard the sound of her mom calling her. "I gotta go, mom's calling! Maybe we can meet up again, Kota?" She asked before getting ready to heda back to her den.

(Summer) He smiled and stood back up, shaking the free grains of sand from his fur, "Sure Aphrodite, I'd like that." He smiled and watched her leave before bounding back into the cool waters.
