.contest rules.
1. .remember, i will state again, this is an rp contest. rping is the most important factor to this contest. .these lions and cubs were customed and paid for by myself (Uta) so I would appreciate it if they went to good use. .besides which, the pride really needs some active members . . . please don't apply if you have no intention of RPing.

2. .i understand rl gets in the way of fun but we would prefer if people who do enter are willing to RP and help plot within the pride.

3. .this contest is open to anyone and everyone, no matter if they have Kitwana'antara members already or 800+ SoA or none at all.

4. .these lions must stay and/or join the Kitwana'antara.

5. .please keep the history and rules of the pride in mind. the kitwana are different than most prides and, not only do they deal with some serious issues everyday, but they also have some tight rules on leaving the borders. please read up on the actual pride rules.

6. .for the most part people can enter for ever lion and cub offered. .there are some stipulations on HOW to enter and who is eligible but unless otherwise stated everyone can enter for every lion. .unfortunately you may only win one period. .we also ask you don't edit your entry once you ship it out. we'll be reading the entries as we get them and chances are might not want to go back and reread every single one again.

7. .please be literate as well. you don't have to be a great rper but we do ask that you at least put some effort in to the prompts.

8. .have fun. this is supposed to be enjoyable for all.

There is a lot of information concerning the Kitwana'antara. For those of you who'd like the full scoop, please peruse the Pride Subforum here.

.brief summery of the pride.

The Kitwana'antara have never been large or dominating. They are located in a quiet valley with hills and more mountainous terrain to the east, and a larger lake to the west. They tend to be isolated and their numbers small due to a plague that keeps their lion count rather small.

The plague is contagious only to lions and lion-hybrids. For lions who contract the disease it is always fatal, though some can fight it off or keep it at bay for many, many years. There are a small few who will become carriers of the disease, safe from its torment but a danger to other lions; and an even smaller few that are naturally immune.

Because of this, the Kitwana'antara frequently rely on leopards, cheetahs, hyena's and any outsider help they can find. Familiars and non-lion species are welcome members to the pride - they are often nurses, hunters, nannies and protectors for those too sick. Furthermore, there is often a ban on lion-members leaving the borders. . . . Their disease is far too risky and to spread it would be horrible. To cause others to suffer from such an illness is not something the pride would ever do and as such only on rare occasion are lions allowed to leave the borders.

Currently the pride has just gotten over a slew of hard times. A secondary plague hit all pride members, cuttng their numbers down significantly. On top of that, a war with a neighboring pride cut their numbers further, causing much distress and chaos in the lands. The old queen sacrificed herself in hopes of healing the God of Plagues wrath against her kind. This left her very young successor, Nawiri'chiwa to begin anew and lead the Kitwana'antara to renewed prosperity.

Meet three original members of the Kitwana'antara. They were born in to the diseased pride and grew up around each other. For the most part these three are all blank-slates - no names, no real history set in stone, and only a few rules attached.

1. They all know of each other. Whether or not they are friends or enemies is up to you.

2. The two females are interested in taking on the male as a mate. Whether this is a secret crush or they were open about their feelings is up to you.

4. The male will choose his mate to be one of the two females.

The rest of their lives and history is up to you as the writer!

This is two RP contests mixed in one!

If you are interested in trying for the male lion, you will need a partner in crime! That's right, for those of you gunning for the male you are going to need a friend or plot-buddy to back you up! To apply for the male, you and a partner must fill out a generic history/personality for the male, his relationship to both of the females, and make a choice on the who he will choose as his future mate!

Yes, it's a co-RP contest!

If you try for the male/female mate pair you cannot apply for the rejected female too! This is the only stipulation. You may try for the cubs, the adult male, and the advertising contest but you cannot try for the rejected female.

For those of you without a writing partner, or who for those who are interested in writing for the rejected female, this is what you'll have to do! Again, if you choose to write for a rejected female, you cannot have entered for the mated pair.

All you need to do is fill out this personality/history prompt and wait and see who we like best.

Because we will not know WHICH female is to be the rejected female, you will have to fill out two separate forms for each female. And yes, they will have to be different forms for both, sorry. It isn't fair otherwise.

.the player.

Unlike some of the contest members offered above, there are a few restrictions that go along with this guy!

First and foremost, he is immune. There is no changing this fact. This is one of the few Kitwana'antara lions who will never be affected by the plague, and in all likelihood will naturally grow to a ripe old age. If he isn't old already!

Because he is one of the few lions who can leave the borders (if necessary) and doesn't pose as a threat to outsiders, he has a choice of these three ranks - Warrior, Scout, Guard or Bard.

If you decide to write him as an ancient and very aged lion, he CAN be a vizier to the pride. He was no mate to any of the previous queens, but he due to his longevity he has seen a lot of changes in the pride and therefor has some good advice. Again, he can only be a vizier if he's REALLY old.

Last but not least, because the pride is suffering from such low numbers, Nawiri has hand picked a few of the healthier lions and lionesses to actually leave the pride in search of finding cubs, or having cubs their own. You guessed it, this guy was tapped and a great honor is bestowed upon his shoulders - he gets to go out and fling it!

That's right. Go spread those genes you player you!

Other than those little plot devices, this guy is a blank slate. He has no personality, he has no real history, and it's up to you to fill in the blanks!

Unlike some of the prompts, this female has a few predetermined points. For the most part she's a blank slate but there are a few options that are limited or already chosen for this particular female!

PLEASE KEEP THIS INFORMATION IN MIND DURING YOUR PROMPT!

This grey and white female had been betrothed and chosen to be an escort for Surya'nontle's first litter of five! Included in this litter were two that passed away within days of being born, Eva'raja who made it to adulthood (and still lives), a nameless Prince who survived until he was a juvenille, and a nameless Princess who passed away when she was an adolescent.

The nameless Prince actually succumbed to a different plague. The secondary disease that the Kitwana'antara had been cursed with during the height of Surya'nontle's reign. Growing so ill by this secondary infection, it didn't take long for the Kitwana'antara's disease to take hold of him and finish the job.

This female was betrothed at a young age to the other. Because they had never officially mated (they were far too young), this female's future title as Duchess was also stripped away and she was returned to a commoner position.

It has been a few years and she watched as the deceased princes sister, Eva'raja was eventually named Heiress, only to be found as a carrier . She's also watched the rise of Nawiri'chiwa and the death of Surya'nontle, the previous queen.
