"ADAM denies us any excuse for not being beautiful."
One of the many lines written on these walls of this ominous ward in the underwater city of Rapture.

Here, Dr. Stein feels right at home.
Despite the neighboring Splicers and Big Daddies that pass through.
No matter.

Stein was bored.

That statement was simple enough. Everywhere he went in this debris filled city, it was almost the same. Crazy, sadistic, deformed men and women running around in a craze in a war torn battlefield, little girls, accompanied by 'Big Daddies' as the locals call them, bruting around looking for 'ADAM' or whatever, even the occasional security drone, of course those where easily disposed of.

But it's not like he's complaining. Much.

Stein sighed and twisted his bolt in his head, focusing his thoughts. He looked at the deformed body on his slab, then proceeded to depose of the corpse. HE needed a new subject to work on anyway.

Time for some new experiments!

Xx~ Koki Kariya ~xX

Waking up in this new world, Koki is sure not to know exactly what to think. For all of his Harrier career, he'd spent time in Shibuya's UG and back when he was alive - back before he traded something in . . . gave something up - he spent his time moving from place to place in Japan. Carefree and aloof, he was able to do all the moves alone. He didn't really need the support from anyone. He was also easily bored of things, never stuck to one goal. That also seemed to help him with the moving. Oh, but it didn't stop him from making friends in the places he moved to, he made plenty. He loved to play games and he was a pretty nice guy, easy to get along with. No need to dwell too much on the past though, right ?

"A-ahhnnn . . ." Kariya groaned, fluttering his long, dark brown eyelashes open. He went to scan his surroundings, but everything was too blurry to make much of it. It almost looked like an old theater setting that was being videotaped by a person with Parkinson's. He quickly closed his eyes again, dizzy from the sudden motions. He went to adjust his body upward into a sitting position at least, and after a few unsteady attempts, he finally gave it up and laid back down. By now, he realized that his back was pressing against stairs. That's why it was so ridgy and uncomfortable. He let out another groan, softer this time, pressing a pale hand to his throbbing temple.
"Goddammit Uzuki, where are you when I need you . . . . . ?"

Stein started to scan his surroundings. Ever since he woke in this strange place, he never had a chance to look around. It was all just experimenting where ever he goes and normally whenever something like this happens, he wouldn't mind. As a matter of fact, he almost hoped for an opportunity like this.

But then again, he had never been in a situation like this.
As he started to walk toward the stair case, he heard a groaning. Stein raised a brow. "Hm. Must be another one of those... things." He assumed, thinking it was another deformed human. He sighed. He started to get bored of them. He would love to dissect one of those armored ones...

Oh, well, he might as well get this over with. When he walked to the stairs, he didn't expect to see what was there.

Kariya sighed, almost in sync with the unexpected passer. For half a second, he managed to focus and heard footsteps heading in his direction. It could've been human. Could have. He didn't know. Didn't care. Since he didn't, he had no reason to flinch or whine in anticipation. He didn't even antagonize whatever was coming his way. That's exactly how much he cared.

It also helped that regularly when he had his reaper wings out, things couldn't see him and would normally step right through him, but . . . but this wasn't Shibuya's UG . . . so did the reaper rules still apply . . . ?

As Stein walked passed the scattered debris and over to the stair well, he took a glance at the staris. What he saw he simply rose a brow at.

A human? No, he had wings. One of them? No, he looked too human, despite the wings. As he was about to say something he heard the stomping of one of the armored ones passing though. Stein sighed. Nice timing.

The flame-haired man opened one eye gently, hoping that the blurry vision had faded. It really hadn't. The room was still spinning but he searched for the thing that was causing the footsteps. He couldn't find it, the footsteps had stopped abruptly too, not helping. But he quickly realized why. Something bigger or at least heavier was passing through. It honestly sounded like Uzuki on a Monday after finding out she didn't get some big promotion, not to mention when it was 'that time of the month'. A smirk crossed his chapped, palish pink lips and he let out one of his infamous chuckles - a simple 'heheh'. Maybe it was foolish of him to laugh out loud, he wasn't used to his surroundings. Things could get hostile. But he still couldn't care less. He closed his eye back and got comfortable on the stairs. He'd have to stay that way until his vertigo passed.

As the footsteps sounded closer and closer to the stairs, the scarred doctor kept his brow raised and stared at him. He wan't even going to move? He gave a slight smile as he started to turn the bolt in his head.

Up the stairs he could as plain as day see the 'Big Daddy' as he descended down the flight of stairs. He realized that this armored brutes were harmless unless provoked, so Stein let out a simple chuckle and moved behind the wall.

If he doesn't move on time... Well, at least he get's a new experiment.

Opening the opposite eye, Kariya looked up to see an armored creature. It looked like a person in a diving suit, or more like something that Minamimoto would've thrown into one of his 'masterpieces'. God, the Grim Heaper. Why on earth did he of all people come up ?
He sighed once again, seeing the creature near. Did he dare move ? Would it pass through him like the people of Shibuya ? Or would it stomp over him and crush his image ? Not like he cared much about what he looked like, but it sounded like it would hurt. Lamely, he threw up an electrical barrier between the railing of the staircase and the wall, blocking him from the thing long enough to wobbly sit up and hobble behind a wall, praying that once the barrier fell, the creature wouldn't go berserk and chase after him. He didn't feel like playing games right now, and he was sure that if he lost a game like that, he'd pay out more than just ramen.

After turning the bolt on his head for the billionth time, he curiously peered his head behind the wall. He saw the man lazily sit up and walk to a safe location, with a some sort of barrier blocking the Big Daddy.

"Interesting..." He mumbled. The armored brute, though, didn't like the barrier blocking his normal routine one bit. It kept on banging the wall, each one more forceful than the last.

"You better hurry." The silver haired man said, watching him lazily wobbling against the floor. Not that he cared.

From behind the wall, he wondered if the metallic thing would come romping after him. Had it seen him go this way ? Or maybe after the barrier fell it would carry on some sort of route, but what if the route went by the wall he was hiding behind ? It was hurting his head, he hated thinking so much after just waking up. He hated thinking so much period, that's why he turned down all his promotions. He lived a happy undead life as a Harrier.
Between his swimming thoughts, he heard a break. A voice. It sounded as careless as his, just differently pitched, though he couldn't really figure out what it uttered, despite his attention to the detail in its sound.
. . . sound. Yes, sound. If the creature threatened him, he could summon sound, but . . . he felt so . . . feeble.
"This sucks, man," he huffed, sliding his back down the wall, slipping into an upward fetal position. Forgetting his dizzy head, he pulled out a black paint marker from his jacket pocket and plotted out the lines where his noise would be summoned - two fairly large Mosh Grizzlies and a Thrash Mink would . . . help at least, right ?

"Hm..." Stein observed the winged man's actions with his brow still raised. He glanced momentarily at the mechanical guard, who was still banging on the shield as fierce as ever. Finally it caved and like glass, the shield shattered, then disappeared. The Big Daddy, simply calmed down and continued down the flight of stairs, until finally stomping to a pipe and calling one of the little girls that he, with his life, protects. The mad doctor would love to put one of them on the slab.

On the man's side, he was still marking the ground for some reason. Twisting the bolt in his head, he observed carefully.

"Hmnnn . . . ?" Koki looked up from his sketching. Apparently the thing wasn't interested in a fight. That saved him a lot of trouble, but just to be on the safe side he finished drawing out the noise symbols, in case he had to summon them to distract the thing while he gathered his bearings and escaped. He didn't really like games that could cause him to be erased.
Finally, more alert, his maroon eyes focused in on a glimpse of something silver. Minamimoto ? No. He was gray. Gray like dirty junk metal. This person was too light, from what he could see.
"Yo, wanna help a guy ou-" He went to whisper to the person, but then his vision blurred again, the heavy vertigo returned and he slumped, pressing his temples. This was getting awfully annoying. Why was this happening ? Maybe this was the 'fading' feeling Megs explained. Something that happens when a reaper of Shibuya is separated from Shibuya. The process normally happened like this : the reaper goes through a series of 'jet lag-like' symptoms, fading in and out of consciousness, loses their ability to use pins or noise, can't transform into their Cantus form, and is continuously drained of his/her energy. The part he left out that his superior - Hanekoma explained, was after all this draining the reaper's body simply gives out. Goes kaput. He or she loses their wings and reaper abilities and typically, finally lays to rest. However, he mentioned exceptions. A few GMs survived, they just returned to a weak human form.
"Zing . . ." he muttered, trying to push himself up onto his feet. "Let's hope I'm an exception. I'd hate to die after having used my brain so much. I'd rather die eating or doing something fun."

The silver-haired man twisted the bolt as he heard the winged man call to him. That means he's seen him. Stein gave a small smile. He's lucky that the mad doctor isn't a crazy deformed madman set to kill him. He took this time to look at him thorough. Pale skin, thin and frail, fiery red hair, wings...

A perfect specimen.

As he started to walk from his hiding place, he heard the chatter of the said madmen. Great. They must be here for the little girl. Stein shrugged. If they don't attack him, he won't try and get involved. Then he heard the sound of screeching metal. Even better. He sighed. It can't be helped. The only thing he can be hopeful about is if they don't attack him. Then again. He is bored.

Now steadying himself on his white low-tops, leaning one elbow against the wall, he sighed in relief that he was strong enough to still pull himself up. In the quietness now, he took the time to consider how the hell to get out of this place and if he couldn't, what he'd do to stay alive longer. No bright ideas came for the getting away part, but he figured that if he found some good metal he might be able to make an energy pin of some sort. Yeah, he'd have to stick towards that goal for right now. Though, a thought couldn't help pass his mind. How exactly did he end up here ? Wherever here was.
"Details," he muttered, shrugging. It was a reminder that he didn't need to over think on the small stuff or dwell on the past.
All the sudden, noises started cutting into his calmness. Clamoring of creatures and a high-pitched squeal. To him it sounded like horror cosplay day in Shibuya and Pi-face falling down from his heaps, but that was more comforting than what was probably coming.
