im in va and hurricane earl is almost here. it wont be too bad once it gets to us, just the normal high winds and heavy rain. our power will probably go out so i may be offline for a couple days.
i havent fed any of my reptiles or fish in a few days since they wont have any heat if the power goes out and i dont want food rotting in their gut. the cresties are being smug because they are still beig fed since they do best at room temp and dont need any extra heat.
ive moves all my plants and everything agaisnt the house or in the garage and moves everything away from the windows. all i have left to do is move the lawn chairs and charge up my cell phone and psp
also everyone seems to have a different answere for when the storm will hit us. some peopel say it will be tonight and other say it will be sometime tomorrow. i hate nighttime hurricanes because i have to go outside to clear out the drainage ditch or else the yard will flood and i really dotn want to do that in the dark.
i wish luck to all my fellow east coast people and lets all hope that when the power goes out it wont stay out for long

I heard the weather network talking about some storm hitting us (Canada) But I honestly didn't pay much attention to it. We never get "hurricanes" here. Occasionally a really strong storm will blow a branch of a tree. Back in 98 we had the ice storm which left us without power for like A MONTH. But I was a kid so I actually found the whole thing kinna fun. We were off school and the whole city was like a giant ice rink.

Best of luck to you! We're several hours north and farther inland, so they're not actually expecting us to get much at all. Mostly wind from it Friday-Saturday, I think. It'll be starting to curve east a bit again by the time it gets to us. I feel bad for the Carolinas.

I'm in central North Carolina, but it was just cloudy today and it doesn't look like we'll get much actual hurricane weather here. The coast is probably pretty nasty about now, though, especially the outer banks. Maybe it'll rain more in Virginia? Idk.
My mom bought a generator because of that one ice storm we got. Which is kinda funny because it normally doesn't snow much here... .

dont worry, ill be fine. thanks for worrying though.
so far no sign of a storm all day today there were birds chirping and no clouds in the sky. and now that its night its a little bit cloudy but thats it, the spiders are starting to pack up and move though.
yes i get most of my weather predictions from the birds and spiders, not the weather channel XD
as long as the storm doesnt happen while im sleeping ill be fine and my yard and car wont flood xp

It might die out before it gets to the northern shoreline. Hurricanes need warm water, and it's cold up there. But if i doesn't I hope you still have power and you are okay through the entire thing.

I live less than 5 miles away from the ocean at the Jersey Shore...it's raining here now, but it's pretty much passed us. We didn't get it bad at all. This morning the lights went out for 5 minutes and I had a mini panic attack & imagined having to carry around my reptiles in my pockets to keep them warm!!! but everything is OK smile
