Gg corporate bastards.
It is a little bit of karma I think. I mean, if they would have passed a law against offshore drilling...
I don't think the common people had much of a say in it anyway. The rich and powerful are the only ones who rule this country anymore.

agh... another crying question I hope they don't repeat their mistakes like sinking the platform with the water those boats use to put out the fire. i hope they set up booms around the rig ASAP >.<; ahh this is so messed up gonk

One reason there was no law passed to ban offshore drilling after the first oil rig exploded is because the people of the Gulf didn't want it to be banned. A lot of people down there work on oil rigs or in that industry. They're really in a catch 22 because they're screwed by disasters like this, but they're also screwed if there's no oil industry down there.

Yeah but if the "big guys" knock it off, if they really cared about the people they could come up with more jobs...
