"Oh man! Look at this place!" Koyuki gasped, her paws finally touching the soft sands of the southern beach. It was beautiful, very much so up close as it was a few days prior that she could see from their cliff side campground. The journey had been amazing, simply enthralled that she could run with Jerome instead of relying on him to be her noble steed of sorts. The suit was just spectacular and for once she felt closer to the spartan that she ever did before; as if she really could face the world he lived in day by day.

The trip had taken a little longer than it should have, especially from a few choice pit stops at some romantic nature venues....but they made it; time could always be caught up later with some hard work.

Dropping her bag she'd carried, the ran a few steps across the sand and gave a twirl; laughing happily. "Jerome, this is just....wow. I'm so happy I can finally say I got to come with you..." Beaming ear to ear, the vixen turned and looked back out into the beautiful blues of the sea. Surely she couldn't say it enough.

It was just amazing.

Looking left, and then right, during the excitement she honestly forgot just what they were there for - despite how nice it would be to see it as a vacation. "So Jerome, what are we looking for again?"

Having finally stepped foot on the beach, he paused to stretch out his warmed up muscles. While a run like this was normally an easy task, it was over the course of a few days, and thus a bit more of a pain to have run almost straight through. But thankfully he wasn't alone.

He couldn't have been more happy to see his mate twirl and frolic on the southern beach while he stood and watched, a small smirk under his helmet. While it was fun to have his mate along, it was very hard for him to cross the lines of work and love on a constant basis. He still tried his best, but it certainly made him tired, and worried he would snap at her for doing something that could bring her harm.

While he moved his bag and her own to a few palm trees nearby, he looked over his shoulder to catch her question. " We are looking for any suspicious activity. Reports say that 2 foxes recently washed on shore after a hurricane. One was reported to have been gone almost a day after, but the second is said to still be lingering" he explained in the best calm, but business like voice he could muster

Tilting her head over her shoulder to take a glance to Jerome, she knew by the tone of his voice that now was time to get to work. Koyuki didn't mind too much, since she already probably had put him in a strange position with her tagging along and out of any normal routines he might have had. Determined more than ever to be useful and make her love proud that she too could handle this kind of mission; the vixen immediately (and perhaps a smidgen of naive excitement) glanced as far as she could down the beach. Then down the other. Then over the water.

Not seeing any form of life on the beach, she gave a small smile...of course she wouldn't have been so lucky to find their target on the first day!

"Alright! I don't see anything from first glance, but I didn't think we would anyways." She called back as her paws took her closer to the water to look at the life lingering on the tide. Small crabs scuttled along as she observed all the seaweed and driftwood washed onto shore. Even some choral, which she could only assume was from the lingering hurricane passing by. Maybe something else had washed up which would be useful?

Walking along the beach a little further, she noticed something up ahead and upon inspection saw it to be the carcass of sea turtle. Frowning sadly as she felt sorry for the poor old thing, she was about to continue when the scent which usually didn't bother her struck some kind of foul nerve in her as her stomach promptly did a drastic flop. Stumbling back and clutching a paw over her mouth and stomach, the vixen almost felt dizzy for a few moments; but managed to keep upright.

chuckling and shaking his head at her attempts, he implored her efforts, while he wasn't finished with the information though. "Well honey, the target we are looking for doesn't come out until night fall. So we probably won't find him until then." he said with a nod.

He turned for a moment, to set up the large tent he was carrying. Not a huge fan of just sleeping outdoors, he had requested this before leaving, and seeing the lingering storm out at see, he was glad he brought it. After setting up the metal posts, he turned to find his mate, only to see her clutching her mouth and stomach. Raising an eyebrow, he stood to his feet. "Are you ok?" he asked before walking over to her side, seeing the sea turtle and immediately picking it up and throwing it back out to sea, thinking the stench was the problem

Shutting her eyes tight as the wave of nausea wreaked havoc on her nerves, she was impressed she managed not to toss up her lunch. When the sounds of her mate approaching tipped her off that Jerome had seen her, and then promptly tossed the carcass into the sea she found it a little more relieving to smell fresh air.

However, that lingering sick feeling had yet to pass; yet she just assumed it was from not finishing through with what her body obviously wanted to do.

"I'm okay.....thank you. I guess rotting sea food is just not something my body agrees with." Attempting a weak smile, she did not noticed her arms shaking lightly, which once again could have been written off as due to the close call. Either way, Koyuki was done exploring the shore for the time being and reached out one of her paws to hold onto his arm. "So....are we going to be looking tonight? Or do you think it might have to wait from those clouds...?" The vixen gave a bit of a worried expression, looking out across the water to see the dark clouds rolling in - maybe coming their way or they'd just miss it.

Concerned for his mate, he took old one of her arms, and put another paw on her back, slowly guiding her back to the tent, soon to find she was moving on her own just fine.

"Well all the same, I think you need to rest in the shade. Maybe you've been running too hard lately." he thought outloud as he moved her to the shade of a palm tree, waiting for her to sit down.

He couldn't help but cast a glance to sea as he did see the dark boding clouds from afar. "I say night is when we go looking..but if it's raining we might have to stay in the tent." he said with a nod. He turned his head back to the tent and realized it would be better to set up on higher ground. So he set out to do that as he moved the partially built frame up onto a tiny outcropping that was a 3 foot drop onto soft sand. Not the best, but it would have to do

Nodding her head meekly, Koyuki did realize that even though she did acquire the magical armor it still didn't magically make her an Olympian runner. While it was easier, and obviously she could go much faster than normal it was more running than she'd done in months - literally. Of course it would have some kind of repercussion on her body....note to self, go on more runs.

"That might be best....Thank you Jerome." Still keeping her spirits up as even being here on the beach had given her a glee that no amount of sickness could drown. Taking his lead she sat down in the shade of the tree and brushed some of her stray hair behind her ears. The breeze from the sea was just heavenly and the constant soothing crash of the waves set her mind at ease.

Looking back as he went to tend to the tent, she looked back out to the clouds and hoped they would spare them....but a storm wouldn't hurt either she supposed. "Hopefully it doesn't." Koyuki spoke aloud, mostly thinking to herself anyways. "it'll make it harder to track anything if the scents are all washed away." Whatever they were looking for anyways.

Closing her eyes, the vixen willed her suit to vanish from her body as the familiar and cozy fabric of her kimono soon settled against her fur. It was nice to have the free flowing materials back against her body, as over time it had become a second skin to her in a sense. Relaxing with her head back, a smile crawled onto her face....how blissful it was here.

Decideing now was the opportune time to finish setting up the tent, he pulled out the think nylon canvas and proceeded to fight with the fabric in order to get it sit perfectly over the frame.

"Weather...said..it was...supposed...to stay..out there...for a few more days" he said through strained grunts as he fought with the fabric. He was a Spartan. A man who had killed hundreds without question. A man who had always won a fist fight..and here he was..getting his a** kicked by a tent

Oh the irony

Flicking her ears to the sounds of struggle coming from the erratic speech of Jerome, Koyuki turned her head to see her mate struggling with the tent. Similar thoughts ran through her head as she put a delicate paw to her lips to stifle a chuckle, seems the Spartans weren't gods of everything....despite what one could believe otherwise.

"Are you alright over there?" She called forth, although still feeling a little light in the head she stood to her paws and made her way slow and easily over to him. Looking to the canvas of fabric she noted where it seemed to be caught and unhooked it from the frame. Shifting it down slowly she held it in place and peeked under at Jerome since there was no way she'd be able to look over it. "I got this end if you want to make sure the others are good to pull down!"

Flicking her tail she smiled, somewhat glad if the storm was coming in a few days that there would be a tent; as much as the makeshift one they had served well she knew sea churned storms could be a lot worse.

Not noticing his mate rising from her position, he fought with the tent further, soon stepping back and leaning on a tree. While he tried to regain his breath, he had a fixated glare on that tent. He would win..He would

It wasn't until Koyuki moved over, noticing a small corner that was caught, and pulling on it, immediately making him feel stupid for not noticing. He soon walked over to the tent and easily pulled the cover the rest of the way.....how embarrasing.

"Well...I guess teamwork is such for a reason" he said with a sheepish smile under his helmet, completely embarrassed that Koyuki beat the tent

Giggling softly, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the expression he was probably wearing under that helmet. If she knew him as well as she hoped anyways, Koyuki figured it might have not been one of his best moments in the pride section. However the thought didn't phase her as he was still by far the most talented person she knew (even if such 'talent' was taught and trained for).

Walking around the frame she smiled, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "That it is, I'm glad I can actually be helpful for once!" It was true, most of the time he was the one to do everything since she either just didn't know how or couldn't handle it. Not one to complain she tried not to let it bother her, but the suit proved that it was still a deep rooted issue.

"So what now, Jerome? I suppose a quick unpacking might be good, unless we'll be moving from this location later on this week...?" Turning to face the sea, the vixen placed a paw across her abdomen as the sickening feeling had yet to lighten to a point where she felt comfortable. Perhaps a nice bath would relief this feeling of tiredness and otherwise salty smell from her body - that probably reminded her of the sea turtle. "I think bathing would be nice right about now. You don't remember seeing any streams or ponds on the way here did you?"

Chuckling a little bit, he moved to the bag she had dropped before prancing around on the sand. While he had carried the food and the tent, she had the task of getting supplies and extra food. No wonder she was tired, but he wasted no time rolling out the sleeping bags and putting them inside the tent, then moving to the tarp and setting it over the tent..extra protection from the rain was always a good thing to have.

"We'll be stationed here all week, so if you want to finish unpacking you can. I do want to run some recon though." he nodded after putting the tarp up. So long as he found a good waterhole, plenty of edible plants, and maybe some animals, he would be fairly content with the landscape and where they were.

Then she mentioned a bath. At a time like this? he frowned a little as he had a whole list of things he wanted to get done, bathing being the last thing on his list. "Well...uh..no." He kept the rest of what he planned to say quiet. He didn't need to get after her for all the things he wanted to get done before night fall

"Recon?" Watching him rather quietly as he moved the rest of the kit that he'd brought into the tent like the sleeping bags, she couldn't help but feel as if she couldn't run any more tonight if her life depended on it. At least not in this current light headed sickly state, anyways. Giving a small grimace at the thought of it, she folded her ears down and nodded gently.

"I don't meant to sound the downer, but I think i'm all run out from the trip here.....and the sea turtle...." Koyuki didn't feel the need to continue that thought as she gave a sheepish smile. "If its something you need to do then please don't let me get in your way. I'll just...finish setting up around here while you're gone and help out that way! Unless there is something low key I can do towards the mission?"

The tone of voice was unsettling, wishing she didn't feel so ill so she could accompany him since recon was probably rather important. Serves me right for exploring when I shouldn't have... She mentally sighed, but awaited any kind of direction she should be taking.

"Yes Recon. It needs to get done so we can know whats around here...." he paused to see her thought process. "...But I wasn't going to have you accompany me anyway." he stopped as he didn't want to sound rude in saying she didn't know what to look for.

"Yes..You should be resting, not working. So while I'm gone, I need you to just take it easy. If you start feeling better, then you can do something, but don't over work yourself." he explained as he turned to the beach and jumped off the small shelf. Turning back to look at her, he couldn't help getting a little military on her.

"Understood?"

"Oh~!" The vixen let out a small laugh, scratching her head lightly as it was made clear that she wasn't very needed. "Ah, yes....well for the better then." It was true that she wouldn't be very useful and probably too enthralled by the beauty of their surroundings than clues to finding the creature or whatever that was washed ashore. While she wasn't sure she liked the idea of resting now, she didn't want to push herself either; her time would come to shine and hold her own weight tomorrow for sure!

"I'll do my best at...resting." She bit her lip, finding that sounded quite weird to say. None the less she smiled at his take charge attitude and nodded her head in understanding. Moving to raise a paw to salute, she stopped half way and raised the other....looking at them both infront of her and realizing she wasn't sure which one to salute with. Not wanting to look any more the fool she dropped one paw and gave a thumbs up with a embarrassed grin. "Understood, Jerome."
