Faction/Race Undead // Zombie (based on Hunter species in L4D)

Personality: Rain is a very active little huntress. The better shape her body is in, the faster she can pounce, jump, or move. While she's fast on her feet, she is not very strong. She absolutely loves sports or any activity where being agile plays a key part. Her favorite sport is track but she has been known to shoot some hoops on occasion.

Deep down, she always wanted to give Fearleading a try but doesn't feel she's cut out to hang with the other girls. She has been a tomboy most of her unlife but it doesn't stop her from wondering what it would be like to have that kind of attention or to embrace her inner ghoul. Most do not know that she keeps her hair in pigtails under her hood, or that her panties are pink.

She has an affinity for blood and can go into a frenzy on occasion when some is spilled. The hungrier she is, the greater the risk of frenzying. When in a frenzy, she may become crazed or wild and may try to partake of blood, not realizing what she may be doing. She frenzies much less around Halloween denizens as their blood is not as appealing as humans.

Rain is of average intelligence. Math and science are her least favorite subject while art is her favorite. She enjoys school and being around others though she is pretty damn shy for a monster. She rarely speaks unless she's spoken to. The exception to this of course are her friends. She is very playful to those she opens up to.

She's a curious sort of girl that likes to watch and study other monsters. This can give off a stalker vibe though she is really quite harmless. She enjoys watching how others react to certain situations, or find out what makes them tick.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? To learn how to gather Fear with the utmost skill and efficiency. It also helps to be around others her own age and to simply gain an education.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.FEAR: Skull Ball. Dribble, Dribble, Dribble The sound is enough to send shivers down most spines. Each bounce seems to have an eerie echo to it and you can't judge the distance from the sound. It could be coming from any direction.

The Skull Ball is a pure black basketball with a white glowing skull painted on the side. Some swear that the skull has glowing red eyes when it lands a successful hit but no one has been able to prove it. This ball can be summoned by Rain and is part of her. If she throws it, it will always bounce back. If someone else tries to pick it up, they will be shocked and forced to put it back down.

If a human is successfully hit by the ball, they will become paralyzed with fear for several minutes, allowing Rain to make her move.

Downside: A successful hit must consist of the target being hit in the head. The spiritual properties of the ball keeps the victim from feeling pain. It's not just called the Skull Ball because of its design. However, if Rain misses and hits another part of their body, it will hurt but no more than a regular basketball and the victim will be able to flee. Rain will have to rely on her natural abilities to try to gather fear at that point.

Natural Ability: Agility: Rain can pounce, jump and climb great distances without tiring and she is very fast on her feet unlike most zombies.

Downside: While extraordinarily agile, she is very weak. If placed in a physical confrontation, she will usually lose. Her only chance of success is usually being able to jump on the target unaware. She also cannot help but let out a large howl/cry before she jumps, announcing those around of her intended move, which makes it harder to sneak in the attack.

Claw: If she successfully lands on a victim, she can use her razor sharp nails to claw at them. Usually she keeps it to light scratches but in severe situations, she's been known to go a little too far. It's for this reason that she would rather use her Skull Ball to gather fear. She's a dangerous girl.

Physical Description: She stands about 5'5 and is thin/petite in build. Her skin is flawless except for some dried blood, usually found around her mouth. Most wouldn't guess she's part of the undead but her hunger for brains and flesh is endless.
Eye Colour: Blood red
Hair Colour/Style: Short black pigtails on her head with two long strips framing her face.
Skin Colour: Light/Med blue-gray (like chibi ref)
Clothing Style/Colours: Dark blue-gray hoodie that ends just below her breasts. She keeps her breasts duct taped underneath, which gives them the appearance of being smaller than they really are. She wears brownish pants with a skull belt and black shoes. Elbows, wrists, upper waist, ankles and knees are duct taped. Her eyes and nose are not usually visible under her hood. Keeps a little witch doll tied around her waist.
Extra: Very sharp claws on her hands, great for tearing into things. Blood around her mouth.

my only "eh" part is her fear because it's more of a natural ability than a fear skill.

I forgot to mention that they pounce large distances, like up to 50 feet or so away? They can also climb/scale buildings and jump from high above the victim. Not a normal pounce. But if that's still not enough, I can think of something.

Love the personality. And the pigtails are so cute, it's a shame most people won't know that they're there.

I would also be tempted to say Pounce was a Natural Ability, even knowing nothing about L4D. Best to ask a mod, though. I gave a geeky cackle over realising that the 'weakness' was most likely the in-game give away for Hunters about to attack, though. That's awesome.

Throwing in: I'm not sure if the Claw attack is an appropriate FEAR choice. While it works for building a take on the L4D Hunter, it's also something that would be considered "normal" for the subspecies - all Hunters claw the heck out of anything they pounce, it's the reason they've got claws, right? - and there's nothing supernatural about it. If someone else decided to make their own Hunter character, would they have to copy your FEAR just to allow their character to do what comes naturally to them?

I usually read FEAR as a way that a character is individualized from all others that would share their subspecies; you'd probably want to use this piece to pick a power that is unrelated (or, possibly, complimentary) to L4D, given that Hunters lack any extended powers beyond their natural ones.

Taking what everyone else has said about their trepidations regarding her Fear and Natural abilities, what if you switched them? To me the idea of something dead being able to scale a wall and pounce large distances is the scariest part. The clawing is just the icing on the cake.

Claw was originally a natural ability. I had switched them based on a previous crit by someone. Hmnnn.

Ok, I attempted a Fear that would be unique. I hope it's at least a little bit closer to what a Fear should be? If not, I'm sorry. I'm having a hard time with the Fear. But the ball would really fit in well with the character and set her apart from other hunters at least. surprised
