Sorry, I appear to be in a posting mood ninja
You guys probably don't remember my whole emo rant about life being really sucky cause my ex left me for retarded reason and being tight on money and etc etc etc and having some doc freak out about my heart murmur and scare the crap outa me.
Well I FINALLY got seen by a cardiologist, he said my "issues" (heart palpitations) are due to the fact that I'm actually REALLY healthy. My blood pressure is really low and my resting heart rate is something like 53bpm. He said that because my heart is so strong, it actually is "easily influenced" hence why I go a lil nuts when I drink caffein. Seriously, I had a large cup of coffee once at NOON I was up ALL NIGHT with heart palpitations. Which is why I got super annoyed at Starbucks employee when she tried to convince me frapucinos don't have much caffein cause she didn't want brew a fresh decaf. stressed
ANYWAY, I told him I do medical studies and they want PROOF I'm healthy, so he sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound of my heart. The girl doing it looked confused, and called in another doctor. That's enough to freak me out. She asks the doctor if something is normal. She looks at me and asks me if I do lots of exercise. When I tell her I'm a bike patroller, she says, "that explains it"
The doc says it does look like there's a Prolapse, but it's so mild she's not sure if she would call it that. ( I hope they don't cause the company I do studies with might not care if it's mild, they'll just throw my file out if they see anything wrong with me )
So, yup, I'm not dying.
BUT THEN. My best friend, who just lost her dad, calls me up crying saying she was watching LA Ink and a guys wife died from a murmur eek and she's all like "I CANT LOOSE YOU GABY!" I'm just like, uh, I'm not planning on going anywhere. But I looked up prolapse to be more informed. In SEVERE cases, cardiac arrest CAN happen.
Some interesting things I bumped into was, 5-20% people are affected with it. Mostly women. It usually starts in the teenage years which is when my murmur was first noticed. It runs in families (my mom has a murmur) People with prolapse tend to have low blood pressure, high metabolism, can't drink caffein and that they are more prone to anxiety and panic attacks.
Ya, that kind of sounds like me eek Had my first panick attack a few weeks after Marc left, never told anyone that ninja
I guess this is stuff I'll have to bring up with my cardiologist if he ever gets the results from the hospital and calls me. I'm a bit curious if it's so mild why do the symptoms match me so well. How many of my symptoms are just coincidence and actually a result of me being healthy?

Parfait Parrot I didn't understand a lot of that but Yay! You're not dying! hehe, ya, a lot of it is confusing, but it seems I'm really healthy and just have the mildest defect that doesn't really affect much. Except that it somehow might be causing me anxiety confused
