The orange male was heading back home. After being away from his mate, he was finally feeling the need to go and be with her once more. He had never really wanted to leave her side but he had been exploring for a few days now. It was high time to return to her and be the mate she wanted. He yawned, his white toes becoming sandy with dirt. He had been bored without her, though he had made up for it by meeting many others that had entertained him. The most noted one being the hyena with the stuck paw. She had amused him to no end, though he felt sure she would forget who he was in a few days, and be back to her goofy attitude.
Raimi was scooting about the borders again after picking Zaira a few days before. That poor girl was so afraid of lions she hadn’t left his den SINCE he rescued her. He needed something to get her out, maybe some good advice from another male who delt with the same thing. But really how common was it to pick up a stray cheetah with a lion phobia. He was sure that it was unheard of.
He frowned and walked away from the pride with some pelt. He would surely trade them for any kind of advice. He really didn’t want to have her NEVER leave the den.
Betta wasnt aware he was so close to pridelands. He seemed to usually be oblivious in that regard. He had been focusing much too hard on the reunion with his mate. He missed her dearly, and was excited to return. So excited, that he hadnt realized that he was coming close to the lands of Suka'Fumo. Though had he realized he would have turned and walked the other way.. There had to be somewhere he could walk that didnt involve a pride.. He was coming across so many of them lately.. His orange eyes glittered with interest, and lifted his head to look at the white lion that was in the distance. Heading his direction, the lion was carring something across his back. He cocked his head, curious as to what it was, but shrugged it off. Likely it was the kill of the day or something, and Betta just was not going to be interested in anothers kill.
The white lion looked out into the distance to see something large and lumbering in his direction. It wasn’t purple. So it obviously wasn’t a member. Even his eyes were purple among the white so he seamed to count as one of them. Well it seamed that the two were destined to meet so Raimi set out towards him. The other male so close to the pride lands should have been smart enough not to try anything stupid. But Raimi thought he could take him if he did. He wasn’t a weak or timid lion- he had his pride.
“Why hello there fellow male. Have you come to see me about my fine pelts?”
He wiggled a paw gentlemanly so the other could see the weres he had strapped to his back.
Betta was a large lion, and still he was larger than the white lion. He wasnt sure that he had met anyone bigger than he was, except maybe for Canicus his own son. He cocked his head as he was approached. He wasnt really in the mood to look at pelts.. After all he felt sure he could bring a couple down on his own, and not have to look at anyone elses' handy work. He shrugged a bit, but his eyes did roam over the pelts on the others back. "I havent come to see you, no. Im wandering through. Though maybe my path could be faltered for the moment." He said, and stretched his legs, his orange and yellow pelt glittering in the sun. He himself looking like a ray of sunshine all his own.
Raimi’s smile drooped slightly as he really thought he had a sale this time. Maybe the stress of the cheetah girl was getting to him. He was losing his touch. He placed all four paws down on the ground and glanced over the male. He was quite huge- bigger then he seamed from a distance.
“Well I know this may seam strange coming from somebody you don’t know. But you wouldn’t happen to have any experience with cheetahs…would you?”
Oi that was a real shot in the dark wasn’t it. Not to mention aquward to be asking everyone on the street about cheetahs. He must have looked mad.
Cheetahs? He wasnt sure he had even met a cheetah before, and so he shook his head. He was sorry he couldnt help, but why did this lion want to know if he knew about cheetahs? That was an odd question. Was he skinning them too? "Do you skin all big cats?" He asked, with a raise of his eyebrow. He wasnt fearful, far from it, because if the smaller lion could bring him down he deserved his pelt. But that was to say..-if.- He grinned a little, and flicked his tail, sitting in the grass to take break from the travels he had been making. He needed to find someone sane on these travels, that was for sure.. It made him all the more happy to get to Ellie. "I know nothing of cheetahs. So Im afraid, and sorry to say, I cannot help you there."
Raimi shook his head quickly at the first question. He used to skin anything he found- cheetahs being one of his favorites since they were so easy to kill. But Zaira changed all of that for him. He almost in a way ‘loved’ the girl more then just paternal instincts. “No I don’t…I found her…she was a stray- I took her in because I felt bad for her. Like somebody was going to kill her if I didn’t do anything.”
He took a long pause and looked at the other lion watching his fidgeting. He really hoped he hadn’t provoked him. Was this why Zaira was so afraid of lions? The sheer size? “Anyway she’s afraid of lions- and my whole pride is lions…so she won’t leave my den- if you get what I’m saying.” He looked slightly frustrated by the whole thing.
"Afraid of lions. Thats a new one. Though if she sees you carrying pelts around, whose to say she wouldnt think one would go as far to take her pelt as well?" He asked, curiously. He would have no interest in skinning anything, rather than eating them. He had never been the violent type, or really, the creative type. He had been more of the family man, even if he had become a father at such a young age. However he had grown now, and now he was ready once more for another litter. He grinned, and nodded. "Sounds quite interesting indeed. Teach her well, and hopefully she will learn better than such a thing." He flicked his tail, standing once more, ready to resume his trip.
“Well I suppose your right. But it is my job in the pride. I couldn’t just give it up…” He looked over his colorful pelts. Out of all the lions in the pride she chose him. The cheetah killer. That was something that struck a blow to him; out of all the lions she should have really been the most afraid of him.
“I will try to teach her. Thanks for the advice.” He turned to walk towards the pride but before he did he took one of the pelts and threw it at Betta. “As a gift for the advice. Thank you.”
